Food is ok. Sits on the steam table too long.. It's noisy and cramped. Their official website says Saturdays open until 10 pm but it's not accurate. It's 9 pm.

    French Toast cooking!

If you have a group of people that can eat alot and you're not trying to go broke, then this is a great place! ESPECIALLY FOR BREAKFAST! First off, the prices are very reasonable. On a Sunday, adults are $15.99, seniors are $14.99, and kids 4-8 years old are $11.99. Although this is without drinks, there is a big selection to choose from! My favorite part of the breakfast buffet is the OMELETTE STATION where it's made to order! The ingredients you can add in are spinach, mushrooms, cheese, etc. The one I received was perfect! Fluffy and packed. I didn't add any meat like ham because I wanted to get Bacon on the side. The second item I LOVED was the menudo! The tripe was tender and not overcooked and it had hominy which was a good surprise to me since many restaurants do not add it in. Although it's missing the oregano, cilantro, and lime on the side it was FLAVORFUL! For something sweet, they have hot off the griddle pancakes and french toast! You have to check it out. TRUST. Our server Yoli was friendly and quick! She had many tables to attend to but we didn't feel forgotten. Thanks Yoli!

My partner loves this place. We love any place that's AYCE, since we like to sample a little of everything. The Golden Corral is located across the street from The Verandas Plaza in Concord. Parking is easy to find since they have a huge parking lot. We've only been here during lunch, which is similar to dinner. The food here is okay. It's not top quality, but they have a huge selection. I've tried almost everything here, and my go-to is the fried shrimp, fried fish, fried chicken, and bourbon chicken. I prefer Sizzlers if I'm craving a buffet. I find the salad bar at Sizzler's fresher, and I prefer their fried chicken wings over Golden Corral. One thing I don't like about Golden Corral is the crowd. I describe the crowd as Walmart shoppers. Stop by, and you'll understand.

    Dressing options.

I admit I was hesitant to review this place. As a yelp elite, I'm supposed to be somewhat of a foodie. Golden Corral is not where foodies flock. So reluctance probably means I'm an elitist in a double sense of the word. But since it's confession time, I will also admit I am a Golden Corral semi-regular. What inspired me to this new season of candor was the sirloin steak. For the first time, out of all the times (5) that I've been here, it was finally edible! I couldn't believe it. I usually use it as a proxy for beef jerky chewing gum, just to get some masticatory exercise and savor some of the charred beef flavor, before depositing the results on a plate covered with a napkin. I was astonished that I could not only chew and taste this time, but also swallow. The grill master had the steaks butterfly sliced. I don't know if this made a difference, but it did add to the visual appeal. As always, it was also marinated very well. So definitely, a welcome surprise. The chicken wings station is a noteworthy addition. They usually have three favors: Barbecue, Teriyaki and Lemon Pepper (I think). The first time they were kinda dry. But the next time they were tender, but maybe a little undercooked and lukewarm. Hopefully, they will get it Goldilocks right. At least the flavors were decent. The salad bar is a plus. The offerings were plentiful and fresh with quite a few dressing choices. The soups were also pretty solid, usually a feature of 4, one being clam chowder. The fried food here is the one thing that's almost always done well. They must have a state of the art fryer in the back. The fried chicken was nearly on par with some of the better chains' chicken that I've tried. I think it's comparable to Krispy Krunchy Chicken, of which I am a fan (yeah more confessions). I must admit that, as they say, the only thing consistent about Golden Corral is its inconsistency. By that I don't just mean that some of their dishes are good and some bad overall; what I mean is that the same dish that you had last time which was great could be inedible the next. And the item that you couldn't stand last time (like the sirloin) could actually become the night's highlight. One consistent thing I do appreciate is the server/bus ladies. They're pretty dependable for picking up your used plates and bringing you water or other items when you ask. And generally courteous and mindful. Ultimately, my take is that at today's prices (low $20s), Golden Corral is still a deal. And part of the fun is actually is the inconsistency. You're not sure what you going to get. But you can be pretty sure that one or two of the items alone are going to be worth your visit.

Good food when the stomach hungers. Passing by through this town and was really hungry for a late lunch and this was on our way. Decided to stop and get down to grubbing. Food was decent. Bbq chicken was moist. Fish fry was fresh. Hamburgers were on point. They even had fried liver and onion rings! Server was nice and kept refilling my drink. Place was actually clean.

First timer and I was very impressed! Never been to a GC before and have always wanted to try it. Upon entering it was very clean. I've heard horror stories about GC and the worst that you can find but this was very much not that. All the food was pretty decent as well with my favorite dish being a Cajun chicken and rice jambalaya! The taco meat was also really flavorful and Taco Bell tasting in the best way. Some of the other things like pizza and amc and cheese were very much what you would get at an elementary school (bland) but for the amount of food I ate and the price I paid I was very happy! Not one thing I got to try did I not eat because it was bad!

Some roast beef, some veggies, some sautéed mushrooms, whatever you want to make. You're King here!

Sometimes you just don't know exactly what you want for dinner. You're tired from work so you want something simple like meat and potatoes with a salad on the sides. Let's go back when times were simple, let's go back to good old fashion comfort food. Except let's do it your way, my way any way you want sweetie. Well folks, hop on over to Golden Corral. You want to create your own southern plate, or go Hofbrau, or build a big ass salad, a bit of Mexican, then top it off with pie. You want one plate, five plates of servings, then come on over. Damn I'm making myself hungry all over again.

An outside view of the place, very nice scenery.

I appreciated the attentiveness from the staff working at the sushi bar, however, upon first bite of our sushi rolls, the quality was visibly lacking. The tuna my mom ordered did not look fresh and the color was a bit off. I ordered 2 rounds of unagi handrolls and they were drenched in unagi sauce so i couldn't really taste the unagi itself. The options on the conveyer belt were limited and the food looked like they were left out there all day (we were there for dinner). And finally, we ordered the soft shell crab hoping it would have some redeeming notes and it left an unpleasant sour aftertaste. It was not fresh and that was the last straw for us. The ambience inside was cold and lackluster. It didn't look like much thought was put into making the space feel inviting. I was not a fan of the interiors. Unfortunately, this place was a hard miss for me.

The waitstaff is pleasant and explained how the pricing worked. We were worried cuz we thought we might overlap into dinner prices which started at 3:30 (17.99) but she said as long as we didn't eat the dinner items we were fine. They had sushi and chinese food so not much more you could ask for. There's a wide variety for honestly, it's not bad bot it's not great either. It's about quantity not quality so if you want a lot of food and am not picky then you'd prolly like it! Most items were a bit bland and just a little off. For example, the sushi rice could use a little more rice wine, the shrimp could have used a little salt and pepper and been a bit crispier. I ate a bunch of sushi cuz who can resist? Bit the tastiest items were the onion rings (reminded me of Jack in the Box), the fried chicken wings (who doesn't love fried chicken wings?) and surprisingly the garlic string beans and chow mein. The place is large and the people nice. Lots of people coming in to eat so it's a popular spot. I don't think you'd ever have to wait for a table. Would I eat here again? Maybe cuz the price is reasonable and there are a few items I enjoyed.

I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! The garlic noodles were a hit. The Poboy sandwich got a thumbs down from my son. He felt the bread amount and it's dry texture overpowered the other sandwich ingredients. A large amount of water pooled on the floor in the back of the restaurant necessitating what sounded like a shop vac to pick up the water. Too noisy but Accidents happen. There was an Open During Construction sign outside. Rebecca our server was pleasant and attentive. She is a keeper. The bus person cleaning the behind us toward the front door table was chewing on something. She paused her duties for a moment, staring off into space in my direction. Eating while on duty in front of customers is unprofessional. I tried to make eye contact with her out of curiosity if the chewing would stop when our eyes met. Alas my experiment failed. Something above my head and to the rear of the establishment was more interesting. Maybe some of that water pool action was still happening. The Men's restroom stall is heavily grafittied. I wish I could think of advice for restaurant owners who suffer this scourge. Perhaps paint the stall inside a solid color and have a can of spray paint on hand? When you pay using the notepad computer the waitress carries, only you need to sign on the screen before you hand over your credit card.
