Had to run some errands in the east bay and came across this place around 2:45pm on a Friday. They charge $13.99 for lunch which is an insane price in the Bay Area! The waitstaff is pleasant and explained how the pricing worked. We were worried cuz we thought we might overlap into dinner prices which started at 3:30 (17.99) but she said as long as we didn't eat the dinner items we were fine. They had sushi and chinese food so not much more you could ask for. There's a wide variety for honestly, it's not bad bot it's not great either. It's about quantity not quality so if you want a lot of food and am not picky then you'd prolly like it! Most items were a bit bland and just a little off. For example, the sushi rice could use a little more rice wine, the shrimp could have used a little salt and pepper and been a bit crispier. I ate a bunch of sushi cuz who can resist? Bit the tastiest items were the onion rings (reminded me of Jack in the Box), the fried chicken wings (who doesn't love fried chicken wings?) and surprisingly the garlic string beans and chow mein. The place is large and the people nice. Lots of people coming in to eat so it's a popular spot. I don't think you'd ever have to wait for a table. Would I eat here again? Maybe cuz the price is reasonable and there are a few items I enjoyed.

Stopped in today see what all the fuss is about.

July 6 2025 3.6 stars China Wall Buffet has a nice spot in a strip mall setting right off Willow Pass road in Concord. This strip mall should get a cool nickname like maybe Concord's Food Crawl. There are so many food operations for you within a 2 block walk. I checked out Yelp before we departed and Yelpers have been raking this restaurant over the coals for years. I went in with low expectations and left happier than I expected to. The buffet has a ton of food choices. We were there for dinner so there was plenty of fried crab, shrimp, and clams. The shame about it is they manage to overcook too many of their foodstuffs. Chewy prawns, chewy clams, tough as a golf ball "siomai". You might get a suprise bit of sand or shell when you are expecting an uneventful chew as well. This is much like eating on a cruise ship with all the beautiful foods, only the Chef missed the boat. The food tray areas and in fact the entire restaurant is kept clean and organized. The staff is friendly and quick to clean up a table so the guests have space to soil more plates. Happily there is no noticeably annoying mood music being pumped in. The restaurant is brat friendly so you can bring along offspring if you've got them. The winner here is the price. Two meals and a coke for $40 before tip (we got a few bucks off- old codgers discount). Where can two people eat all the muscles, Manilla clams, pepper crab, and sushi etc. they want for $40? Again, most all the dishes are prepared in an underwhelming fashion. Know that walking in the door and you will leave sated, happy, and with a few bucks still clinging to the inside of your wallet.

Went for lunch on Veterans Day with a group of 13 people. The person who arranged the gathering called the restaurant to ask about securing a table for all of us. The restaurant never mentioned that the lunch price for Veterans Day would be increased to the dinner price, so it was about $5 more per person ($17.95 per person). When we inquired about the increase in price, we were only told, "Well, it's posted on the door." The person arranging the gathering called on the phone, so she wouldn't have seen a post on the door!! Oh, well! The offerings on the steam tables were varied and plentiful, but none of it seemed particularly good. I think the best thing I had was the fried chicken drummette listed as "chicken wings". Nothing else seemed to have enough flavor to make it stand out. The sushi all tasted the same with not much flavor. The clams with black beans were under seasoned and the "baked crab" was really just "krab". Absolutely no drinks were included in the price except water. No knives were offered, so you have to try to cut larger pieces with your fork or eat with your hands. Needless to say, I was not very impressed with anything. So glad the people in my group made up for the disappointment of the food.

So what is the difference between the lunch price and the dinner price? What additional items are served that is different from lunch?

I don't eat here for dinner since it's about a 30-40 min drive out there..but since lunch is around $14, expect dinner to be around the $20 range. As for the different items, the only thing that comes to mind would be like crab legs (which I have…

    Are they open on Easter?

I would of coarse to make sure, but I would think they'll be open Easter Sunday..

Hello. How much is the price for kids 7 years and below? Thanks

Children ages 1-10 is $1.00/year. The price corresponds with their age.

Does this place have birthday special?

I just called them. They technically don't do anything, but the employee said if you tell the waiter in advance, they can make a small cake and all will sing "Happy Birthday" to you.…

Is it true that they no longer serve crab legs?

Yes last time when in at dinner and I ask server about snow crab. Server said "no more crab". Also price went up for lunch and dinner.

The minced pork sauce clung onto them really really well. The minced pork had a nice balance of sweet and savory, although it leaned towards a little sweeter than I personally prefer. But it wasn't a problem at all, since I was able to adjust the flavor to make it more savory by using the Chicken Granules, Cumin, Chili Oil, and White Pepper condiments. Overall, it was a very satisfying dish! We also tried their new shaved ice dessert. It wasn't like the Hawaiian style shaved ice which is based on frozen water, but more like Korean style Bingsoo with a milky shaved ice base. The flavor and texture were both good, but I thought it was missing the toppings. It relied solely on syrup, and I think it would've been much better with fresh fruit or other toppings to add more flavor. It was $5.99 per order as of July 2026.

Got Pig Ears and Cold noodles take out at the end: very good. Not too salty. Service was quick, accurate and finely. Very clean, simple store. Not overly decorated. Parking was easy. Everything we ordered came out fresh and well-prepared, and you can really tell there's care put into the food. If you're a fan of the type of food you get at 88 Bao Bao, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. In my opinion, it's a step above, with a much wider variety of dishes and plenty of choices beyond the usual favorites. Their beef rolls are especially worth ordering, they're much more substantial, packed with flavor, and very satisfying. Another thing that really stood out to me is the space. The restaurant is relatively clean, open, and spacious, which makes the overall experience much more comfortable than some of the smaller, crowded spots in the area. If you're ever near 99 Ranch in Concord, put this place on your list. Great food, generous portions, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere make it well worth checking out. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

You actually pay for your order when you get to the store, which I would be worried for them if people place orders and don't show up. I ended up ordering Basil Eggplant with Chicken and Prawns, as well as Deluxe Chow Fun. The bag was fairly compact when I picked it up - two plastic containers of the dishes. When I opened up the container, they were overfilling! I'd say very generous portions for the price. -Basil Eggplant with Chicken and Prawns: I don't feel like this is a really traditional Chinese dish, maybe a bit more Thai, but it was delicious! I also wasn't expecting the sauce to be as red as it was. This dish had a lot of basil which I liked, and a lot of flavor. There was a good amount of protein. -Deluxe Chow Fun: Pretty good, the noodles were soft and bouncy, good amount of flavor, and also lots of protein. Service during pickup was friendly. When I was there, it seemed like the restaurant is popular, with both diners and people coming in to pickup their to-go orders. This is a very solid place for Chinese food!
