No manager was around when leaving to see what kind of compensation I should get, so I doubt I will come back for dinner. If I do, and I see her again, I will move to another section. I'm here visiting my daughter & family from out of town. We decided on the Golden Corral, none of us have ever eaten there. We had no idea what the process was & we asked the woman how it "worked" she was pretty rude & not very welcoming...we were putting her out it seemed. Once we got beyond her we had nothing but a positive experience! Our server, Jenni, was a doll-baby! She was Johnny on the spot with all her tables, very accommodating. The price was pretty reasonable considering the huge assortment of delicious food! The only things not so good we're the cold yucky pizza, the cold fries & several of the signs were mixed up on what food was what. Not bad considering all that was really great! We showed up at 2 minutes before closing with this restaurant full of people and the food still on the buffet and they said "we're closed". Seems to me that if you close at a certain time that means that time and not before, or we would have not tried. Resteraunt manager very rude. Will not ever go again. Don't go here! Almost all of the food tasted fake. I'm guessing most of it is processed and from a can. Servers we also rude and yelled loudly around the restaurant to other servers. This restaurant probably has the worst food I have ever tasted. I don't recommend. read more

It's absolutely amazing how much this location stepped up their game compared to the last location. Congrats, food was fresh and very well prepared. There are a lot of buffets in the area but for a random Wednesday night this food was on point. Only reason I wasted food was cause something else fresh was coming out! Abesoulty.... a great experience, the wife & i stoped in about 3p on a sat... line was long but seemed to move fast.. was greeted.. the food was well taken care of.. the meat was excellent.. as I had a nice pice of prime rib... all the food bars where well staffed and taken care of.. Today was a great day at the Golden Corral. Our server, Chris, was prompt, courteous, and he sang while he worked. Normally that might annoy me, but not today. The food was wonderful and at the time we went in, it wasn't busy, so it was easy to get around. Unfortunately, and this has nothing to do with the restaurant itself, the lingering smell of B.O. from customers once it got busy was a little hard to take. This is a pilot restaurant. The lay out is terrible. Way to much bottle necking. Cafeteria style line for food. If you miss something don't try to go back to it as the crowd got very hostile. The all new, all you can eat prime rib needs a saw to cut it. Hope your dental insurance is paid up. W walk ways are to slim. I would hate to see an emergency. read more

I have never been here before. Mostly because I have only heard terrible things about the one back home(visiting Fort Wayne for a couple weeks) anyway this place was amazing. I have never seen so many choices to choose from and everything was so fresh. Our server even gave us a sample plate of some of their new items. It was a mosh pit minus the groping and drugs. The food was mediocre at best and greasy. After eating a couple plates i had troubles breathing and i was seeing lights in my eyes. My waiter man messed up my drink 2 times instead of unsweetened tea he brought me raspberry then sweet tea. This would be a 1 star if it weren't for the staff who were all exceptionally friendly and upbeat and for the place being very well maintained. The food though...I knew what I was walking into and wasn't expecting memorable food, but I was expecting edible. Each and every protein I tried was of the lowest quality and was difficult to cut or even chew through. My entire group had no interest in finishing our cuts of prime rib. I started to feel very wasteful and became so frustrated with all of the meat selections that I gave up and loaded up on sides and starches which were all ok...pretty hard to mess those up. It's not that I don't like buffets or have unreasonable expectations. Back 40 in Decatur proves you can offer a quality product at a good price. I have been a long time regular at this Golden Corral, and at their old location with former management on Lima Road. On the weekdays it's a bit more on the quiet side, which is what I like. This is a place where I know happy faces are waiting for me. If you come in often enough, your face will indeed be remembered and they will greet you by name. Never have I had a bad experience with the staff. Cooks, servers, managers - they're all great people. They'll do almost anything you ask for just because their work ethic is that awesome, AND they'll have an actual conversation with you. The food? Even better, if that's possible. It's cheap during the daytime, and they always have fresh stuff out. And you can have AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. And you can stay for AS LONG AS YOU WANT. Not to mention that like EVERYTHING is made from scratch. Home cooked meals are the best meals, right? You can watch them make everything by hand while just walking through the buffet. Oh yeah.... and don't forget that HUGE chocolate fountain. It's pretty cool. Just tell them it's your first time there and you'll basically get a personalized tour!!
