Here today! Four motorcoachs full of hungry students and chaperons called Golden Corral for breakfast/lunch with only a 15 minute notice. Being that this Golden Corral was in Louisiana they welcomed us with smiles and great options of hot fresh food. The wait staff did a great job of serving the lot of us, the manager kept up with our demands of what ran out. Well. It's a buffet. You have to walk with your plate to pick from what all those folks have picked through. It's never hot, sitting in warming trays and the quality depends on who's cooking what that day. Our server was spot on helped Julie out quite a bit. They keep it as clean as they can but there's just so many people dragging plates around it's nearly impossible. It's lit well enough so you can see what you're getting. Personally I don't like buffets or cafeterias. I try to stay out as much as possible. read more

Has been quite a few years since I've been to a Golden corral on this particular one in Hammond. Louisiana was the one that I chose. I came for lunch, and what I remembered from years ago was get the chicken, get the meatloaf. The chicken was as good as I remembered it. The meatloaf however was better. I also had learned the hard way years ago not to overeat. So I only ate two dishes and the server was looking at me with a look like; "Okay, What's wrong with it?" I just smiled and said; "it's as good as I remembered." The restaurant was clean as it was pretty early in the day. Service was rude, saw waitress twice. Requested military discount and was not given it/ignored. Worker made us round up our total although we said no. The mac and cheese was good. The place was clean, but the bathroom floors were sticky and the toilets were wet with what I am going to assume was urine. Waitress also randomly took our receipt so we couldn't even check it afterwords, not sure if that's normal. read more

I'm partial to Golden Corral (GC) so... This location appears to be Indian owned and operated. The wait staff are the same as I've experienced at other Corrals. Of course they are friendly and helpful. Chicken Liver Tuesday or Wednesday, I forget which but think it's Wednesday. GC and KFC both have very tasty liver. The food that appealed to my taste is the Fried Chicken, Pulled Chicken, Fried Fish, Shrimp, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and the Sour Dough Rolls. If not used to the cooking oil used at GC, the Fried Chicken can make you sick. Ultimately, there is a lot of food to choose from and there is something there to be found tasty. Tarter Sauce or other sauces for the sea food is located on the salad bar. Steaks are served on Saturday and Sunday. I've been to this location several times. Took sick leave one day so I could eat the livers, but have only been here only on one Saturday to get one steak. The steak I got was tender and tasty. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and maintained. Never had paper towels in there. The buffet is a good bargain with tasty food at a reasonable price. Being in Cajun Country I think it would be nice to have something with Cajun Seasoning and something Smoked. Since it's a Franchise, not likely to happen. read more

I really like golden corral I like the breakfast because normally doing lunchtime you almost get the same thing fried fish, macaroni and cheese spaghetti and meatball mashed potatoes they sell them. Did you get something different on the menu? read more

It's a buffet so don't have high expectations, the food was frequently refilled and hot but the restaurant was filled with a lot of small unattended kids and there was food mashed in the carpets and not real clean, the announced that kids under 12 had to be accompanied by an adult but it was still a zoo read more

My husband got an order-to-go of sliced ham, sweet potatoes, and baked beans. He loved it all! We were in and out in 5 minutes.

we went for lunch and it was a great experience. first of all they accommodated my wife's special diet requirements. The owner was there and made the arrangements. I had the Buffett and was satisfied with the quality and selection of food.Everthing was fresh and hot. Our server, Shaun, was very attentive and pleasant. He was always checking on us and refilling our drinks. all in all, we left very satisfied and full and we will be back the price for lunch was comparable to other buffets and satisfactory. read more

Someone please tell me how this restaurant is rated 4.1 on Google. We were on a road trip and we're trying to decide between Chili's and GC. Unlucky for us, we decided on GC. Here's a list of the problems: 1. Cashier had troubles in the register. She worked for about 5 mins on someone's ticket and then, finally asked another worker for help. 2. I visit this restaurant on today. I paid for a beverage my neighbor ask for water. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and when I came back the african american lady with a blond wig on hit the table and said ma'am . She looked at my receipt and walked away real fast. I asked my neighbor what was that about. The neighbor said she did not think you paid for the drink. Apparently there was a discussion about the neighbor's water request while I was away from the table and this bully of a employee decided I was trying to get a free drink without paying. Watch how you treat paying customers. She should have look at c the receipt before opening her mouth to attack. Actually, she was not the server, so she should have minded her business all together. My only problem with this restaurant is that the buffet staff don't pay enough attention to other people's kids... I know that parents are supposed to handle their own kids, but they don't. - I watched a kid lick a serving spoon and then stick it back in to some Mac and cheese! There was no parent accompanying the kid at the buffet... just a random kid. I alerted our server, who then made a PA announcement about unsupervised kids at the buffet. We all know how well the parents listened! I saw that same kid up in line, solo, about 5 minutes later and the employees couldn't care less. When we first arrived 7-8 waitress we around the cashier complaining that one got to get off. The other were complaining that they had to work. Not a good was to start a meal. Mostly of the food was good. The shrimp were cooked excellent. Carb salad also excellent. The chicken was good but they piled it to high so it was cold when I got a piece. Had to go get my own silverware & ask manager for drinks. We sat i the back it was clean. Miss Carolyn was the manager. I almost didn't stop because of the negative review. The restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. Our server was attentive. The manager came by our table to make sure everything was alright. This Golden Corral has rude staff, dirty environment, and expensive food. When I went here, the service was slow took about 20 mins to our drinks and the waiter rolled eyes at us. We were actually very pleased with our meal and especially the service. The steaks were fresh and seasoned well. The vegetables were fresh too which is odd for a buffet. Usually they are old and mushy but these were fine. Our server was an absolute pleasure. We drove from Slidell just to eat here and was not displeased. read more
