The only place I know that offers drink in the buffet price..the service was excellent..the food was good. I am going back this weekend.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2:45pm. It had been about 30 years since I came to Golden Corral. When my friend suggested it, I thought why not. I remembered the food being not so memorable but there was a variety of What I di nit expect was the sheer volume of people standing in line to get I. As well as the amount of people in line to get the food. At off peak hours, I was not expecting this at all. What this tells me is that no matter how bad the economy is, everyone wants the feeling of going out and treating themselves. I saw people from all walks of life, ok perhaps the lower end of the economic scale, having a great time sharing a meal with their kids and family and friends. Everyone truly enjoying themselves. We got to talking with our neighbors as well. It was awesome e. It wasn't the food that was memorable, although I recommend the friend chicken, fish, soup and some of the desserts. In fact, I skipped a lot of the foods just because the wait was too long. It was chaotic but the crew kept their composure and kept the joint hopping. Was it a fine dining experience by any means? In a word no. But if you just want a variety of food surrounded by people, who like all of us want to have a good time with friends and family, why not. Wow-we hadn't been here for a long log time! We were so pleased that the food is so fresh and tasty since our last visit. The service is friendly and helpful. I am especially drawn to the colorful salad greens and fixings and the choices of vegetables and beans as well as the regularly delicious fried chicken! The lines were long and people seemed to leave quite satisfied from what we could see. I'd say- if you haven't been here in a while, try it again. read more

My family decided to plan an impromptu family meet up here on a Saturday afternoon which is one of the busiest days/times for this restaurant. I have not been to Golden Corral in Years so this visit is why I have fond memories of this place along with why I have been missing from this place for years. Nevertheless, the food is pretty much the same as before ~no changes. The line to get in was stacked with tons of people waiting to be seated. Our party was seated across one big section but, at random tables because we all came at slightly different times. What I would love to do is highlight the hard working staff. Our servers were different at each table but I believe her name was Sharon (don't quote me) was so nice and gracious. I gave her a gift that I know I was not going to use and she was so happy to receive it. She made sure to tell me to inform her manager so he could put it up for her in the office until her shift was over. Had a good visit and was surprised with the atmosphere and food. Atmosphere ... bright, open, clean ... I seem to remember GC's with muted colors and not very cleanly; but NOT here. Food presentation was great and while customers can cause cross-contamination of different dishes, if you point it out the issue gets resolved quickly. Food ... Everything I tried was good. I encountered nothing that was bland or undercooked. I did have a few items that was overcooked but lets be honest ... this is a buffet and food is cooked in bulk and can sit on the steam-table for a while. This visit was on a Tuesday and I did find fried Chicken Livers on the line. I was in heaven!! A full plate with some lemon wedges and hot sauce ... made my day and week. I don't love visiting this place but sometimes I get suckered into coming and instantly remember why I don't jump up and down with joy. The food is mediocre (at best)The meats are tougher and more questionable than my childhood, the chocolate fountain looked like it had seen things, and the mac n cheese looked like it decided to give up harder than the employees. On the bright side, the rolls were soft enough to cushion my disappointment. 10/10 would recommend... to my enemies read more

I honestly have nothing to complain about. You are coming to a Golden Corral, you know what to expect, you know what you'll pay. All things considered, it was exactly as I expected and maybe even a little better. The price was fantastic. Kids under a certain age eat free with an adult. There are healthy options, there are decadent, bad your diet options, but overall, they have something for everyone. The restaurant was very clean, well maintained. The staff was refilling our drinks very quickly and cleaning up well. The lines were long but again, you're at a buffet. It is expected. I really enjoyed the multitude of options. The worst!!!! Management is awful! Went Valentine's Day with family of 25... The way that they communicate to the customers is lacking big time. The kitchen manager needs a new job! He came out with a filthy apron on trying to help regulate the front. He's unprofessional, disrespectful! The Caucasian blond that call herself running the front along side two other managers was very unprofessional, her communication skills stinks... customer service (smh)! They tried to sit us at different sections (12 kids) at a table by themselves! NO! It was a hot mess. Me and kitchen manager pass words due to him putting himself in my conversation with my grandchild because they put us behind a black rope... So many negative thoughts about this place. Food was disgusting and some foods were cross contaminated. I went to make a salad and was about to get some cuecumbers when I noticed that chopped eggs had been dropped in them and I have an egg allergy. I accidentally left my jacket behind and whe. I called got out on hold 4 times before I finally said let me speak to a manager. Manager came on the phone (Hispanic) lady and was rude and said she didn't like my tone. I told her to please let me tell you where I was sitting so I get my jacket back. Finally she was quiet and listen to me and I told her which waitress also waited on me. She put me on hold and went and found my jacket exactly where I left it. My daughter went back to get it and someone has stole my quarters I had in my pocket to do my laundry. I will never go her again especially with the way they treat their senior citizens. read more

The weekend over crowding can get very annoying since they stuffed the place full of large long tables , you will have to deal with babies crying , 4 and 5yr olds running rampant unsupervised wiping their nose and touching the serving utensils read more

When you think buffet... it's this place. I had a gastric sleeve years ago so I could by no means eat...EAT. Even getting half a plate I enjoyed and appreciated the selection! For some reason, my children just looooovvvve Golden Corral. I can take them to a 5 diamond 4 star restaurant and they'll look at me like I've lost my mind and someone will say - Can we have Golden Corral? I've found a new reason to love this location as well. For starters, it is what it is, there's nothing super special about it or the service but this particular Golden Corral has been a life saver for me with our company lunches. It gives my team a variety, they're always on time and things are always fresh. That said, I do have my issues with them. Lack of silverware, napkins and such for catering orders, but we always manage. This Golden Corral May not be everyone's cup of tea, but it'll always serve a purpose & that's all you can ask sometimes. read more

On 27 October 2024, I ate dinner at Golden Corral. The food is always good, with excellent variety. I was really impressed with the interior upgrades--new countertops and tiled walls in the serving areas, and remodeled bathrooms (at lease the women's restroom was remodeled). These upgrades really brightened up the restaurant. They have someone cleaning the restrooms on a regular basis- much appreciated! If you haven't been to the Hanover, MD location in a while, consider adding it to your places to eat after you finish shopping at Anne Arundel Mills Mall. read more

This place is huge. We went for lunch on Saturday, which is served 11-4. $15.95 plus $3.19 drink, seniors $1 less, kids also less. You pay in 1 line, then get in another line to be seated. Only problem is price list is on a video screen that toggles between price list and restaurant photos . The price list should be permanently on a sign on screen, not flashing to pictures of the food. Website does not list prices because they change between time, day, and customer age all the time. They make steaks to order, which is great. They really have everything you can imagine. Most buffets are closer to $30, this is probably the most food for the least money, it's a great deal. They have some things duplicated in multiple locations. 1 whole table is just desserts, another whole table is just salads and cold food. They have enough food for the whole day. Go hungry. They have a soft ice cream machine, a cotton candy machine, pizza, 3 kinds of chicken, 4 kinds of soup, taco bar, baked potato bar, rice, mashed potatoes, yellow rice, fried okra (my favorite), turkey, stuffing, gravy, you name it. Hard to try everything in one trip. Dinner is more expensive so try to arrive between 11 and 3:30 on Saturday/Sunday for the lunch buffet at this price. We were there once seated for 2 hours so plan accordingly. Adjacent to Arundel Mills Mall with Bass Pro Shops and many other stores, so you can walk off all the calories if you go there afterwards. Mall closes at 9 Friday and Saturday so arrive no later than 8 to the mall. Mall has 24 screen movie theater, which is open later than the mall. Plenty of parking. read more

First time back to GC since Covid and I guess they are trying to recover from buffets getting closed down. Food was the same as before. Lots of choices and I did enjoy the fried fish and fried chicken. The fried shrimp were more like fried pieces of small shrimp. I am not into a lot of meat but they did have steaks and carved turkey. The dessert table was a mess. They really should not let folks cut their own slices. It was not appealing at all. Crumbs and pieces of desserts were all over the table. Also, we ordered the regular free refill drinks and were all given the to go cups which I didn't realize until I saw my check that they cost 50 cents more. It made no sense since we were dining in. She didn't ask us either. I noticed everyone in the restaurant was automatically given the large plastic to go cups and everyone was leaving them on their tables when they left. Obviously, they didn't want to go cups either. Just a way to charge you more and generate more trash. This was not cool at all. read more

The line was ridiculously long. We stood in front of the steak guy for a good 10 minutes while he ignored us. I don't know why he was so rude to us, but we're definitely not going back. I asked for medium-rare but was give a piece that medium-well and more than 50% fat. So in the time we spent standing in front of him waiting, he let that meat overcook instead of giving it to us. I'm going to give 5 stars for effort and fresh to a national chain that I go to maybe once a year but have never been to one up north. This place was packed, let's say a Mixed crowd but the fruit and salad to start were very fresh and what I needed. I love greens so the turnip greens were good, Lima beans and green beans all good and filled me up. I did opt opt for some steak - again, not bad for a Golden Corral and cooked MR and tastes fine. Didn't opt for desert but tried some chicken( skin over cooked but meat was tender and juicy) , some fried shrimp , hush puppies and fried okra- all the fried things I only got a small portion but ok with me! Have to say it was the patrons that were rude, classless in some cases, some- this was their only meal for the week it seemed- others maybe their 5th meal of the day as there must have been no less than 5 350 pounders here wolfing down plates of food and very demanding of the staff. Some sassy girls and others yelled at the chef for meat not well done, or something just not to their liking and saw at least 2 people dump food off their plate onto the floor bitching at the poor people behind the counter trying to meet their over demanding needs. It was def a show for little ole me sitting quietly eating strawberries and mostly veggies . I would have kicked some of these people out but I had a good meal, it was cheap, I had sweet tea that was better than most ( for Baltimore !) and I didn't drink , get sick or puke so hey- a great value, koodos to the staff for keeping their cool for the rude ass people but I kept to myself, tipped my waitress $5 since nobody else did and went back to my hotel. I loved my greens and fruit and again this was a great salad and fruit bar I enjoyed a lot. Loud, a bit crazy but it's golden coral not Capital Grill. Just thought I would put some things in order as it's not the staff that lacked but the over eating over demanding people that shocked me. Yes, I'm giving a buffet five stars and here's why: when I do my reviews, I base the rating on what the place is and what its trying to do, rather than comparing it to something it isn't. I had never been to a Golden Corral before but wanted to give it a try. We stopped by on a Friday evening around 7:00 and were seated and eating quickly. I took a tour of the options and then dove in. Based on what I'd heard, I was expecting tasteless, cafeteria food, but nearly everything I tried (and I tried a lot) was good! The place sticks to American staples: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, steaks, fried chicken, pulled pork, fried fish, etc. There are also tacos, a salad bar, desserts, spaghetti, steaks, pizza...pretty much any kind of comfort food you could ask for really. If you're looking to get stuffed for under $20 a head, this is where you go. No shame in that! read more

This has been my first check in here, and my first time here in some years. I dont think Ive been here since the early 2000's and especially not this location. Being as though its been sometime since Ive stepped foot in a Golden Corral this location shocked me. Im used to the dirty bathrooms, dirty tables, and flies flying around here and there, also not to mention some cold food. But this location shocked me. It was neat, there were no flies, the food was constantly fresh given there was not a big crowd this night. The restrooms were incredibly clean and the wait staff was really great. Might I add the tables were really clean and sanitary. I dont really like buffets, but it was my baby sister's choice for her special day so we found ourselves here. Went there Sunday about noon. Stood in front of the steak grill for 5 minutes while 3 employees (2 males and 1 female) laughed, chatted and ignored me-and the grill. The bigger guy was even on his cell! Finally out on gloves and came over. I asked for rare/medium rare and he grabbed a cooked steak from a pile off heat? I got a piece and it was dry and cold.
