    Jerk chicken rolls
    Katie C.

Came here because "brunch" was in the name haha. Later on, we thought it was weird that it said "brunch" outside, but "kitchen" on the inside. No matter. We had a baby with us who was getting fussy so we had time to get an appetizer and a drink for each of us. It wasn't super busy when we got there, but the atmosphere was nice. The jerk chicken rolls were really good! Not too hot. I wish there was more of it! I got the peach lemonade and my husband got the secrets drink. We would have gotten a coffee, but I guess they didn't serve it? Which is weird for a brunch place to not have on the menu. Overall, it was just okay. Definitely overpriced. It was $40 for a very small plate, a lemonade and a mixed drink.

We returned for brunch and loved it. Make sure you take a good appetite or the price might not be worth it.

So we ended up trying Miss Toya's as a last minute attempt to find somewhere to have dinner for our anniversary as we had an unexpected family priority which prevented us from us from keeping our initial reservations somewhere else. BUT I will say Miss Toya's did not disappoint. They were not only able to accommodate us, but our server was extremely attentive and the food was really good. The ambience however gave us more of a fast casual experience than we expected but we didn't mind. We actually returned the following weekend. Our menu favorites were the fried deviled eggs and hot honey salmon bites. We enjoyed them so much we returned the following week. We hope to try the much talked about brunch in the near future.

My husband absolutely loves authentic southern food, and so, when we found out about this restaurant, we were very excited to try it. The atmosphere and interior was fine. It looks like it was newly remodeled, but it definitely does not give off southern kitchen vibes. It seems like it's kind of confused in what kind of restaurant it wants to be. We were told to find a seat promptly upon walking in. Within five minutes of sitting down, our waiter was over to ask for a drink order. We had each ordered iced tea, not paying attention and were surprised when it came and was sweet tea. My husband likes unsweet tea and I prefer to use my own sweetener. But again, this is supposed to be a southern kitchen restaurant, so I guess sweet tea is not a stretch. I just wish they had offered both options. My husband was very excited to see Oxville on the menu and that is what he ordered. He got it with collard greens and cornbread. He said the collard greens were OK and the cornbread was good. However, he was underwhelmed by the oxtail. He was also very surprised to see that it was not served over rice or anything. I ordered the catfish with macaroni and cheese and sweet potato as my side. The catfish was breaded and fried very well. The breading was very, very salty, however. The catfish itself was moist. The sweet potato side was probably the best thing I ate. It was very good and could definitely be offered as a dessert! It was that sweet. The macaroni and cheese was not bad, but it was not anything to write home about. For the caliber of food, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. It was a very expensive meal. We likely will not return.

Got a mocktail and an alcoholic drink. Pretty expensive at 24. Ordered the red snapper and it was delicious. But very expensive. At 40$ I expected a bigger piece of fish considering you can get two for this price at most places. Maybe I will come back to try something else. There was no hh yet.

It's been two-months since I visited this restaurant and it wasn't a good visit. I've taken this time to reflect on the visit and to provide a more constructive review than a not so nice review hours after the visit. Arrived for lunch at 11:45AM and was informed there was a 30-min wait, Three other couples were also waiting. In viewing the dining area I noted there were eight empty tables ... so maybe they were understaffed. loooong story but food wait times exceeded 20-mins for appetizers, entree, and dessert, $6 for Iced tea and you only get 1-refill; 3rd glass or 2nd refill is another $6. I found the food to be bland and none of it was hot. Overall for me, Miss T's is over-rated, over-priced, and under-delivered food.

Service was great. Every staff member there spoke and had causal conversation. Restaurant was clean. I came for the fried devil eggs and they did not disappoint. Rich flavor profile sweet relish plus spicy jalapeño; so good!

This was my first time going here. Everytime I say I was going to go something came up. I first went to the one in Silver Spring but they were only serving brunch so I drove to the one in Gambrills. I made reservations and got there and waited for almost five minutes before anyone came to the hostess desk. The table she was going to sit me at wasn't available so I just went to the bar. The Bartender was attentive and provides great service. The food tasted good. I was a little concerned with the deviled eggs presentation but it was good. Will probably go back to give it another try.

Went to Miss Toya's cause wife said some real housewives of Potomac ate there. Ordered fried deviled eggs, which were good. Next, split the seafood fried basket with fries. Half of the fries were cold, but seasoned well. The fried shrimp and catfish were very salty, the mustard helped with dealing with the taste. The cornbread was warm and sweet. The ambiance was wonderful - playing Brandy's first album is always great! Drunkin Noodle: The service was good, however, did not receive water refills (after eating the salty batter seafood, you need two glasses). They have a bar!!..but the lemonade was fresh made not fake.

Food was outstanding! Service could have been a bit more attentive. Venue was not crowded yet our server wasn't as attentive to drink refills other issues that arose. However, that aside the food was so good! I absolutely will return!

Definitely a work in progress. It has a lot of growth potential to get up to the quality that I am accustomed to at the Silver Spring location. The drinks were good and food was nice, but I want that amazing southern style cooking. That makes you want to slap your mother style cooking. Lol. I like the openness of the space and the decorations are so pretty. Having a great hostess would set the dining experience off right and follow it up with amazing service from start to finish and this establishment could be a great spot for the Village at Waugh Chapel. I'll be back to see how it settles in to the newness of opening a new location. Eager to see the improvements in the next couple of months. See you soon!

The food was yummy! I got the fried pork chops, mac n cheese & sweet potatoes. The service from the staff was great & it was clean. The only issue was that the A/C dripped from the ceiling on me.

It's in my neighborhood, it's conveniently close, and more often than not, they get it right. Today wasn't one of those days. Pressed for time, I didn't feel like cooking and needed to get a meal for my Wife, who works overnight as a nurse. We decided to visit America's best, ordering three separate orders of food, totaled at $61. Midway through eating her 7 piece Honey Lemon Pepper Wings, my daughter noticed a piece of hair in the honey. To be honest, I gave my daughter my 5 piece and really didn't want to go back up to the America's best bc I was tired, and they were busy, and I didn't want to embarrass the establishment while they had a crowded house. But my Wife insisted a refund, so I obliged. I called first, and told them my issue. I was told that if I wanted a refund I would have to come back to the carry out so I did. When I got there, a female cook of Asian descent asked me to open the container to which I did. She said she couldn't see the hair, even though I pointed it out to her. She then asked the cashier if she could see the hair, to which she replied: Yes, but it's super small. As if that made it any less unsanitary. The cook then said, it must've come from you, and pointed to my 5 o'clock shadow for a beard! I was shocked & offended, for one bc I barely have a beard, that particular dish wasn't even my meal, and just the audacity to imply that I would do something as disgusting as placing hair in my food to get a refund. It was super insulting. Again, I'm at an age where I'm not going to be arguing with anyone publicly. Especially over a $14 meal. But I didn't inform her that I have much better things to do then be going back & forth about chicken. She then told me that I could not have a refund, but she would make me more food, which I told her earlier that the site of the hair turned my daughters stomach and she was no longer hungry. I accepted the replacement bc something is better than nothing & after a long work day, I just didn't have the energy to continue to fight, but man am I disappointed in the customer service, the lack of respect for regular patrons, and my overall experience. I'm sure it doesn't matter to them, but I will never visit this America's Best again, and it's not even because of the mistake bc mistakes happen. It's bc of how they made me feel. 0 stars.

I had previously gotten caught up in the Canes hype myself, but quickly realized that the chicken was mid, and the sauce carries that whole franchise. I was also put off by how all of a sudden This area had quickly become the fried chicken capital of Maryland, with all these new chicken spots opening. Roaming Roosters, Canes, 2 Royal Farms, Wing Stop, Popeyes, Nandos, Miski (R.I.P.), Dat Jerk (McJamaican), Bon Chon, The Chicken Shack, and still to come Big Chicken which is owned by Shaq will be opening somewhere in the area. It just seems like a lot. To the point i heard someone refer to this area as "The Chicken strip" lol However, I was on Grubhub one night and decided to give it a try. I got a chicken sandwich with Korean BBQ sauce that I wasn't crazy about. The sandwich was just completely soaked with sauce and was sloppy, I wasn't feeling it. I also ordered the wings with cayenne ranch dry rub, and they were absolute fire. So then of course I had to follow up by trying the strips which I actually did today. We dined in (even though I ordered to go) and the staff was reallly nice, like Chickfila level nice, and the store was super clean. There was even a guy outside sweeping the parking lot, that to me looked spotless, but I guess he was sweeping away any possibility that a speck of dirt or debris may land, because I didn't see anything anywhere. When I got my food the first thing I thought was, these tenders look similar to Cane's. Like, almost identical, but as soon as I took a bite, there was no more comparison. The tenders were perfectly seasoned and the fries look the same way McDonald's fries look (in commercials), golden with a slight crunch, and not overly salty. (Review then sits in my draft for like 4 months at this point. I dont even know why) Picking up where I left off, I've since been here like 5 times. I still like it alot, the sandwiches are fire, the tenders are fire, and the wings (cayenne ranch) are fire. Though, I do wish incould get cayenne ranch tenders, but for a once every now and then option this spot is solid.

It's not even the food all the way--it's the staff and how this whole situation was handled…read more I placed an order here last night through Uber Eats, and the person who picked it up stole our meal. When we called Wingstop, we spoke to a manager who explained what was going on. We ended up placing the entire order AGAIN for pickup. While we were waiting, the manager had plenty of energy talking spicy about Uber Eats and how they handled the situation. Cool. Whatever. But after we got home, we realized HALF of our pickup order was missing. We called back--begrudgingly--explained what was missing, and asked them to start making it so it would be ready when we came back. Somehow, when my wife got back to the restaurant, they hadn't even started making it. And the same manager who had all that energy for Uber Eats? Suddenly he was ducked off in the back and wouldn't even come out to speak to my wife. The young employee at the counter was apologetic, and I appreciate that, but it wasn't his responsibility to clean up the manager's mess. The manager already knew the kind of night we'd had and should've come out and handled the situation himself. Then, to make matters worse, the woman making the food in the back decided to say in Spanish that she KNOWS she put the chicken in the bag--basically insinuating that we were trying to get over on them. No, you didn't. And just like she assumed my wife wouldn't understand what she was saying--she did. I understand Wingstop couldn't control what the Uber Eats driver did. I'm not blaming them for that. But dropping the ball on the replacement order, leaving half the food out, not having the missing food ready when we came BACK, the manager hiding in the back, and an employee insinuating that we're lying? That's ALL on Wingstop. You would've thought that after knowing our original order had already been stolen, they would've gone out of their way to make sure our pickup order was right. Instead, we had to jump through every hurdle imaginable just to get the food we paid for. And through all of that, not once were we offered any type of accommodation for the inconvenience. At that point, it doesn't even matter how the food tastes. The experience ruined it. Do better.
