We were delighted -- albeit a bit unexpectedly -- with our two evening dining experiences here last week. We enjoyed wonderfully tasty meals with friendly people in front of and behind the counters. The restaurant was clean, and -- well, there's really almost nothing to complain about. The focus is always on the food, of course. This GC buffet is big; no gripes about not enough choices. And our choices were delicious. Let's start with the veggies: mashed potatoes with hot gravy, broccoli and cauliflower with hot cheese sauce (the only way!), turnip greens, yummy cabbage, baked beans, green beans ... we ate 'em all. The fried chicken was crispy and hot (lots of breasts, our favs), the steaks cooked and sliced in front of us (not especially chewy either), the very agreeable bourbon chicken. And we haven't mentioned the salad bar with lots of fresh lettuce and toppings. The dessert bar also had lots of variety, although nothing other than chocolate everything is necessary for us. Our waiter was quick to refill glasses and clear dishes, and he had a nice sense of humor. He earned his tips. And the other waiters we observed appeared to be in good spirits as well. The dinner price was $17.59 for seniors, which seems a good price given how costly it has become to go out for a meal these days. And yes, we've written more than usual for a roadside buffet, but honestly we really like this one for the good reasons listed above. read more

Okay, so the food was really good. There was lots of choices and I enjoyed most everything I hate. I was sad the ice cream machine was broken, but I was able to find other desserts I enjoyed. Why I am giving it two stars is because of the service. Not one person behind the buffet smiled, said anything welcoming and acted like it was a big deal if you asked a question. Even the manager was rude. He looked like he was mad at the whole world. I wouldn't go back even though the food was better than some other GC's I have been too. It's only getting 3 stars because it's a buffet, no other reason. The service was good; my waiter was very attentive. With a busy section, she made sure our table was clear and drinks were full. The place was very clean from the looks of it, and the food was very, very good. My girlfriend is a picky eater who never goes to buffets, and she enjoyed this one. Food was OK, service was good. Women's restroom smelled pretty bad, since it doesn't appear to have adequate ventilation. The stalls were filthy, the seats are lopsided & don't fit the shape of the toilet, only one of the hand dryers were operating. The restroom could certainly use a good cleaning & update! I tend to judge the overall cleanliness of a restaurant by the condition/appearance of its restroom. If a restroom is filthy, I question the cleanliness of the kitchen. There were a few hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the restaurant, but the ones at the entrance & exit of the restaurant were empty. read more

This place is a hit or miss. I wouldn't recommend going during lunch. I went with my family July 11th and haven't been back since. Didn't know that they didn't serve steak before 4 and the cook looked at me crazy because I was waiting. He rudely gestured what do you want. I scrunched my face up and asked for a steak. He waved his hand and said no we don't do that right now. Like brah you work with customers. Educate us politely instead of being rude. It ruined my experience. The food was surprisingly nasty. Like they didn't want to work today. They were more focused on socializing with each other, playing around, and being loud. So I've been to a few different Golden Corral locations and this one was one of my less favorite locations. I got a nicer waiter who was helpful. Her name was Wenifer if I remember. The food was okay. Nothing special. Salad bar is always good to go to and can never go wrong with that. One thing I noticed is the ambiance was very off for me. I didn't get a good vibe and atmosphere from the place. I noticed one of the chefs by the grilling station was on his phone and using it with gloves on and then never changed the gloves which is pretty gross seeing that out in the open. It makes you question what's really going on behind the scene. Overall not a bad time but not sure I'd return to this location. Thanks for the fooood though!! read more

It's been several years since I've dined at a Golden Corral and after eating here last night I remember why. The price is decent but nothing was hot. Several things had little to no seasoning or flavor. By far the honey bourbon chicken was the only decent thing. The steak was like eating a tire it was so chewy and lacked flavor. read more

Location was great, and service was very friendly. The price per person is unbeatable. There are plenty of food to choose from. But of course the quality won't be too good. They are really good from the price stand point. Where else can you find dinner at $17 per person with all your can eat? I visited this location during my visit to Tanger Outlets Mall in lancaster. They have parking all around it. On a busy Sunday lunch, it was very difficult to find the parking spot. I found one on the back side of the restaurant. There are other parking lots nearby, but you have to park and walk a little bit. As we enter the restaurant, you have an option to select the drinks if you want to purchase them as an extra option or just the buffet. I got a small size drink and lunch buffet . There were at least twenty people ahead of me in a line that took around ten minutes to get in. I was able to locate a table for me. It was not clean at the time, but there were people always looking around to get the table cleaned and provide the utensils and napkins. They have a great collection of food in the buffet. Starting with the salads, pizza, seafood, mac and cheese, soup, fresh grilled meat, shrimp, filet fish, fries, and 100 other things. The desert section is a huge section and worth trying every one of them. The drawbacks are that it is very crowded, the staff couldn't keep up with cleaning and the flooring is sticky, but it provides a good value for your money. I would suggest you go at a busy time, so that the food is constantly refilled and made in front of you and served hot. The hostess has an attitude as if food is offered free. We were on vacation in Lancaster and saw Ihop and was excited because we love Ihop breakfast, as it turned out it was the worst experience, this is what we had to deal with very slow service 1st off, then my order was wrong after the server asked me not once but 2 times about my substitution, I just let that go he asked us what condiments we needed before we even ordered to begin with and we said Xtra butter and Ketchup and I asked for flavored syrup. He finally came with breakfast and did not bring condiments at all we had to flag him down asked for Ketchup and butter still never came back till like 10 min later by then our food was cold , my son also asked also for more hot water for his tea , as they did not give a carafe like in other IHops the server left and again never came back for like another 10 min, then returned with a paper cup with hot water and poured into my sons tea cup and but never offered another tea bag either. The food was just not up to what we usually get in other IHops which we have neve had a bad experience till now. The topper was when another waitress came over and asked us could she take the Ketchup from our table stating there is only 1 bottle going around the whole restaurant. When I ordered raspberry Ice Tea I was told they run out because they only get it once a week. Then to boot there were ants crawling next to us on the window going in and out of the wood on the window sill. The final complaint my spoon looked like it was used and not washed. This Ihop needs to be looked into because Ihop is a good place to eat but today in our experience we felt disappointed and would likely not eat there again sorry to say. read more

I honestly didn't come in with high expectations... I'm glad I was wrong. For a weekday evening they were surprisingly busy, still we were seated promptly and the food stayed filled and fresh. The quality of the food was great as was the flavor. I expected boxed mashed potatoes, hard rolls, dry and processed meat and mushy vegetables.. quite the opposite is what I encountered. We also received superb service and were tended to, drinks kept full and dirty dishes removed often. Ok for the bang for your over money. This place does great. Remember this is a buffet. And it is not specialize in anyone thing. And I have poorer quality foods at places that were. Everything I had was decent quality. Service was good. I don't judge service to much because it can be hit or miss. This place is amazing. We walked in and there were cups that you could fill any sodas or drink. Then, we grabbed a plate and there is everything you could imagine. The one old lady waitress was so polite and gave us 3 refills of drinks and anything we asked for. Mostly pretty clean but a few stains on walls which is expected from diners/restraunts/buffets. Returned after a few years. We went on a Sunday night around 7 pm. The line was long and all the way outside the door. Line moved super slowly. One cashier was open. Took us about 30 min before get to a table. Friendly service. Gloves were supplied but no everyone followed the rule. Food quality definitely went down compared to a few years ago. I don't know about amazing but the food was okay for a buffet. I went with a group so our food was hot. Steak on the grill, fried chicken, hush puppies were tasty. Vegetables, not so much. Service was excellent and it was crowded. Bathroom was clean, especially for a large restaurant. Ice tea was also good. The guy in white cap standing behind the steak is asking everyone how they want their steak and then he's being nasty and racist to the customers when they respond, and he has the audacity to give them whatever he feels like it. I asked for my steak to be well done, and he hears me, and proceeds to give me the opposite of what I asked. I was about to whip my phone up and take a picture of this rude guy, but no need. He's the only rude guy serving the steak that worked at this location on Friday night around 7 PM wearing a white cap and a "management" shirt. I don't usually give negative reviews, but in this case, I think people need to be warned. Food--You'll be happier if you stick with the hospital cafeteria. Service--These people are doing the best they can with what Golden Corral provides, and *obviously* it ain't much. Their employees are entirely too nice to be working in a place that so clearly undervalues them. Ambiance--It's like if they put troughs out at Penndot. Yup. It's exactly like that. My son and I went here, after seeing the ads. It was dirty, the food was old, and it didn't taste good. (Again, not the fault of the overworked and underpaid staff. It's like nobody wants to pay a livable wage these days. Maybe if they actually paid enough so that people could pay their bills, they could retain employees. Just a thought.) Don't go here. Service is great! It's self serve at this location but you must sanitize your hands and use a glove they provide in order to make yourself a plate. They also hand you a plate and refill your drinks unlike before where you could just grab any plate and go and pour your own drink when entering. It's pretty much the same system except they're taking necessary precautions to keep everyone safe so I appreciate that. The food was good, basic Golden Corral choices since we went during lunch. We went today nov 9th at 330 pm. Seen sign many times on road trips- never been decided to stop. Older gray haired lady to greet us and at cashier was less than impressive, made me want to leave, nothing warm or southernish about her- she could tell we hadn't been and could have been warmer. She was all business pointed to get a drink, checked us in and said to pick a table and enjoy our meal- seemed aggravated when my senior mom didn't know how to get water. Anyhow, from there, we were surprised at the choices- amazing spread. I had meat and was surprised the pot roast and pulled pork were great! My mom is a vegan and was so excited about the choices she could enjoy. My dad was under impressed with mac n cheese, fried okra and pumpkin pie. He said meatloaf was good. I'm well aware the quality grade of this food can't be super high at this volume and price , and buffets aren't great for overweight Americans but still the spread was amazing. A manager was walking so turn ensuring things were clean. So much staff on- good sign. Our server was timely getting drink refills and cleansing plates from us and others. Other tables only left a few dollars which was shameful- we left her a huge tip- she was working hard and so sweet. I was always hesitant about eating at this place, but due to long waits on a Friday night I gave it a shot. They were short staffed (isn't everywhere), so many people would be immediately grossed out by the ton of un-bussed tables. A nice young guy cleaned a booth for us, but we had to them wipe it all dry with napkins. The food was ok, nothing was super great, but it was mostly hot & the salad items were fresh. We didn't have desserts. I sampled pizza, salad, fruit, pork tenderloin, meatloaf, spinach, zucchini, Mac & cheese, fish, fried okra & onion rings. If you want to stuff your face, especially with fried foods & desserts you'll have no trouble doing it here. But I'd probably only eat here for lack of anywhere else to go as we did Friday night. read more
