    Grilled Mushrooms for my steak

I don't usually splurge on a steak dinner while traveling on business, but felt compelled to have a special meal tonight. I arrived around 7pm after the dinner rush should have settled down abut...wow they were really busy. I ordered the French onion soup as a starter. It arrived piping hot and very yummy. My entree was the outlaw ribeye with grilled mushrooms, a baked potato and a ear of corn. Oh my goodness, it was so tasty. My server Jamie J was spot on making sure my meal was okay and my ice tea was full. Lancaster Pennsylvania is not someplace that I travel to very often, but rest assured that next time I find myself here, I will be eating another fine meal at the Longhorn Steakhouse.

The food and service were good. Nothing special or unexpected but we wanted a steak and that's what we got. And it was perfectly prepared. If we had one grumble... there were some cleanliness concerns. The A1 bottle was totally gross that was brought to the table. The cap and spout were totally covered with A1. There was a fork and some other grubbies on the floor under our table. There was a little puddle on the booth which we thankfully spotted before we sat down-hopefully it was just water.

    Renegade Sirloin, cooked perfectly!

The food was awesome. We could not have asked for a better waiter!! The timer was perfect for the appetizer, salad and dinner.

Solid steak. Would return. Enjoy the parmesan crusting on it. The kids like the bread and chicken tenders.

We visited here during the Memorial Day weekend. The food was the same as all the other longhorns I have been too. The service was average.

Our waitress was Kylie and she did a great job! Personable, on top of things without being intrusive, explained the specials clearly and concisely without being pushy at all! We started with drinks and the spinach reggiano dip-delicious! My wife had the 6oz filet mignon, and I had the Cajun ribeye. Both arrived in a timely manor but not right on top of the appetizer--timed perfectly! The steaks were tender and cooked exactly to order! The matchstick French fries sided the steaks perfectly! The coleslaw and broccoli rounded things out nicely! We were too full for dessert, perhaps next time! The manager stopped by to check on everything as we were wrapping up-very personable and polite! They are definetly doing it right! Great food, great service and we found it to be very reasonably priced! We look forward to the next visit when we are back in the area!

The shrimp pasta saute was good although more sauce would have made it better! The toasted pine nuts were a great addition. The crab cakes were ok with a lot of filling and no lumps & we should have known better not to get crab cakes if you're not in MD. Overall a great spot for dinner or cocktails.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.

We came across blue-collar restaurant, but when we pulled in, I was surprised to see it was located inside a golf country club. I almost turned around, but my daughter encouraged us to give it a try--and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant was beautiful inside, with a peaceful view overlooking the golf course that made for a really relaxing lunch. The food was excellent. I ordered the salmon with vegetable risotto special, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the service. My daughter is nursing, and my granddaughter has soy and dairy allergies, so we had to be very careful with her meal. Our waiter, Matt, was outstanding. He went above and beyond, checking with the kitchen multiple times to make sure everything was completely free of soy and dairy. He helped put together a custom salad bowl for her, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had such a lovely experience--from the food to the atmosphere to the attentive service. I would absolutely recommend this spot and would gladly return.

Drinks came out quickly and the server was very attentive. Overall I'd give the food an 8/10. The dishes were really good. My husband had the cheese pizza and the Power Bowl (which is listed under salad but not really a salad). I had the Thai steak tips salad (which I all but licked the plate after, and that rarely happens). And then we split the Spicy Tuna Sushi Tots, which are probably my new favorite thing. Our daughter also had the cheeseburger and fries from the kid's menu. The burger was juicy and well seasoned for an $8.00 kids meal. Our only real draw back was that the restaurant was pretty dead and the food took about 40 minutes to come out. Even with the amount of time to get our food, we would be willing to go back because our meals were very good. The presentation and flavor combos really make Blue Collar stand out.
