Quite disappointing that GC took the best salad bar in MB and destroyed it by eliminating many toppings and choices! Now it's even below average for this area. Even worse was bringing my concern to a manager, who I've spoken to on several visits, who flat out lied and said they had not changed anything about the salad bar- I'm not blind or stupid!! It's quite noticeable that over half the toppings have disappeared- quite sad!! GC needs to assess the leadership at this location and make changes! read more

As I am feeling the upset stomach from dining here last night, it is the comments from the waitress/table assistant that bothers me the most. She was talking with an older gentleman about how he can tip her. The options were going back to the register and make a charge for the tip and getting cash. Next option, Venmo or Cash App, a great way not to pay tax on her tips..ick. She also talked about her $20k in student loan debt and how she is still waiting for it to be forgiven (for you and me to bail her out, because we will pay for it eventually in taxes.). I wasn't offered to go to college for free. Back to the food. Yes, Golden Coral has a lot of meat, and meat in almost everything, i.e. the baked beans and green beans. I'm a vegetarian and should know better. Everything is so messy and I'm sure there is a lot of cross contamination, especially with having meat next to an item with no meat. Went here on Thursday June 26th 2025 with my parents for a much needed dinner. We also had a gift card and decided to go here. This was our first time at this Golden Corral. Now if you want a soda, one can get it up front, and they have tons of selections from HIC, to Pepsi, to Fanta, lemonades, iced teas, and more. You can also get it in a to go cup or glass. And also, one can pay for a to go container and get food that way. We paid for 3 adults for dinner with 3 sodas. Used our gift card and paid the rest on a credit card. We found a table easily and that was near the food. it was kind of noisy and busy in the restaurant, but cleaned out once we settled in. Plates were clean and warm. There was food galore! there was a salad station with soup, some fish, some chicken, some steak, potatos, mac and cheese, brocolli, corn, and more! The food i took was very delicious and i enjoyed it. For dessert, they had ice cream, Jello, chocolate cake, moose cake, and more! I liked the ice cream, but the moose cake and chocolate cake was a little too sweet. Oh, and at the food stations, there was no label on the food, and it would be helpful to have a label such as "Crabcake meatballs", especially helpful if one has a food allergy, and is allergic to seafood. Without a label, one can mistaken it for a chicken meatball. Service once seated inside was very helpful and polite, the person cleaning other tables asked us if we wanted refills, and we told them what they had, and it was brought to us. both my husband and myself decided to go out to eat and celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. It was ruined. We will NEVER return. The food was disgusting...and used to be really good. People's kids were playing in the icecream machine dispenser and running everywhere. When I brought it to the management's attention they just shook their heads. While visiting my family down in South Carolina, I learned that the Golden Corral that we always went to at least once during my stay had closed down based on the business lapse during the virus. It was a shame since I always looked forward to this part of the trip. Fortunately there are others and after hitting Mass together we went for breakfast. They set the place up properly for social distancing and while you can sit at the table unmasked since you are eating, when you need to go up for your portions you must also wear a protective glove that you are handed with your clean plate. It was different but made perfect sense under the current climate. When I am at the GC I usually get two plates of stuff and its easy to do when you don't overload the plate in the first place. To start I went with your conventional breakfast items of scrambled eggs, bacon, a pancake and of course grits since this is not something I get all that much back home in NYC. Second time around I made it more of a southern cuisine with a biscuit w sausage gravy, black eyed peas, some fried okra, a little more grits and a couple of sausage links. Maybe too many carbs but I would keep busy at the rest of the day and work it off. The establishment was clean and they were keeping it this way as people left their tables and everyone was very friendly. These are trying times for everyone so just be polite and carry on with no fuss and everyone will be able to safely enjoy their meals. I look forward to coming back here again but it will not be for months and I hope to do so without a mask and plastic glove. Let's see what happens. Thanks GC, you rocked. read more

We went there on the date of 12/03/24. As we were eating, I saw COCKROACH just crawling around on the table top beside us. We were disgusted and lost our appetite at the sight of what was happening. I got a waitress and she just picked it up with a napkin and never came back to sanitize the table top-eww! I told the manager and she apologized, said she would handle it, and refunded my money. I FAILED TO LOOK AT THE REVIEWS-BEEN HAPPINING SINCE 2021- Research it PLEASE.... Roaches are nasty and can reek havoc on your health. Golden corral is either a love it or hate it place and honestly I've never had any issues. My family stopped here for breakfast on the way back from the beach and had a fantastic breakfast for about $12 a person which is cheaper than a combo at most breakfast places and you get an assortment of food including breakfast staples and lunch items. The mini waffles were delicious. They were crunchy on the edges and soft and fluffy on the inside. The omelette station was amazing and she didn't skimp on the filling. My son loved the French toast and we both enjoyed that we could have a little dessert to finish off our vacation. They were constantly putting out fresh food. The only thing that wasn't fantastic was the fried chicken as it lacked seasoning. All In all It was a great meal! read more

Not a good review for my return trip. Very crowded but the line to get in moved quickly.. It seems like menu items were taken out but can't tell for sure. Most of the hot foods did not have a tag to tell you what it was. They had one tag listed on the glass with calorie counts. The tags were faded so you couldn't read it. If you are at a buffet, you are most likely not looking at the calorie counts. You want to fill your plate fast and get back to the table so you can refill your plate. The food trays were not being refilled when it ran out. Some trays sat empty or near empty my entire visit. The food itself also seemed off. Did not have the same good taste as previous visits. The price has also gone up as it has everywhere else. The staff overall were not very happy. The girl cleaning the plates and bringing refill drinks did a great job. Not a good experience and I've been here a few times over the last 8 years. Might skip it next time I'm in Myrtle Beach. read more

Came for a Friday night dinner. Hubby wanted the scallops. Wasn't too impressed. Very small and undercooked. But they are bay scallops. The steak was good and I ate my weeks worth of sugar for desert. Not a bad place. Lots of choices. Use your coupons! Otherwise it's a $40 dinner for two. Update. It's still okay. I thing great but not awful. It's wings and sirloin special. The Wings are so so according to my hubby. I didn't try them. I did have fried wings and they were very dry. I also had a baked fish which was okay. The sirloin looks ok. Hubby reports it's dry. Love the veggies. Very southern. The desert bar looks appetizing as well and the salad bar has some nice finds there. All in all I'd rather go somewhere else honestly. read more

Angel is possibly the best server I have ever had in my entire life and I'm pretty far up there. Lol She just oozes sweetness. The food us outstanding as usual. The cashier's are delightful! Everybody behind the scenes smiles at you if they happen to meet their eyes with yours. This restaurant has really come a long ways over the years. Possibly one of Myrtle Beach's best restaurants. I saw 4 roaches on the wall next to my table by the bathrooms half way through my meal. Very grossed out the rest of the time. We stopped in for a late lunch on a Thursday and they were still quite busy. They run a Senior early bird special during this time. The food we tried was all very good and they have a huge variety of choices. Our server/attendant was very nice, kept up with us and brought drink replacements for us. As with most if not all buffets some foods are a little overcooked as they sit on the bars, but everything they had out seemed freshly prepared that day. My only disappointment was with the fruit selection on the salad bar. There are a lot of desserts to choose from. Overall this is a good buffet and a great value if feeding a family. read more
