Sometimes it is a gamble to visit a Golden Corral. But this one is a winner. Nice clean restaurant. My service was excellent, clearing my dirty dishes and filling my drink. Immediately offered their wonderful dinner rolls when I sat. Each of the entrees I chose was prepared well and seasoned appropriately. My first time in a buffet and grill and I think both the quality of food and the amount is worth the value. Although you need to lined up for a really long time to get in. Personally I like the grilled pork, it was juicy with the fat, the steak is a little bit too old to me. The pepper, fish and corn is really good. One dish with squash is great, it is not with the dessert but its creamy and naturally sweetness is so great. We enjoyed our time here. read more

I had not been to The Golden Coral in years because my wife does not eat enough to make it worth it. We were traveling and chose GC simply because their parking lot was big enough to accommodate my truck and RV. The food was good. (better than I remembered it being). The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. Overall a very positive experience. I don't know about other GC, but if you are in Roswell, give it a try. read more

As this was the second time I've been to this same Golden Corral, I'm honestly disappointed with how downhill they've gone since 2018. Nicest person there was the cashier that checked me in. The rest of the employees.........let's just say they're colorful. My waiter didn't bother to show up until I was pretty much done with my meal, and I had to ninja my drink myself, even though the nice lady that checked me in said that I would be giving the slip to the one serving me. Still don't get how that works when it's a buffet place? But I digress. The poor young man must have forgotten deodorant because the smell of sweat and BO was overbearing. Sorry kid, but you've GOT to use something stronger when you're working in such close proximity to other people! Especially food! The woman behind the dessert counter had the foulest mouth in a business setting, and was too busy to notice me standing at the counter asking where I get my drink from since said waiter hadn't showed up after I'd finished my plate. She was talking to another coworker, who had a blue/teal(?) shirt on like he could have been management, and was telling him about another "f'ing coworker that couldn't get dressed correctly" when they came in for work that morning and "looked like sh!t". I'm sorry, I'm all for cursing when it's due, but you shouldn't be having that conversation on the floor where customers can hear you. It's completely unprofessional. The "manager-looking-guy" tried to be nice and got me spoons, but only after I'd interrupted a vent-fest between him and the one with the vulgar language. Pretty sure he wasn't filtering his own curses, either. If you can get past the colorful staff, The food, itself wasn't completely unfortunate. Mostly. I had the scrambled eggs, cinnamon bun, sausage, a biscuit and gravy, and Texas toast. The sausage tasted like wet dog, which was EXTREMELY weird to TASTE the smell of wet dog...not even sure how that could happen. But the rest of it was rather appetizing. So much so that I would have LIKED to have gone back for seconds, except that in the almost 45 minutes that I was there, there had been no refills of the available trays or food to choose from. Again, rather disappointing. The cinnamon roll had a good flavor, even though it sat under the warmer a bit too long and got a little hard around the edges. The Texas toast was nice. The scrambled eggs were okay, but I got the last scraping of them in the container and they had probably been sitting for a few minutes. The biscuit was kinda bland, but the sausage gravy was really good and compensated for the biscuit flavor being...off. The soda machine was apparently out of order, or something, so they only had the tiny kid's lunch sized cardboard milk singles as a drink, and apparently you're only allotted "one free milk" with purchase. Not sure how anyone is supposed to enjoy the Polly Pocket sized amount of milk with their meal, but I guess that's why it's priced the way it is? All in all, not *completely* horrible. Really got what I paid for - bland service with an "okay" meal...for $12. Honestly should have just driven through a fast food place. read more

Over the past 3-4 times that we have visited this store the quality has greatly diminished. Yesterday the awesome pot roast was anything but awesome. Two small pieces in the pan. Very dry. Like jerky. They never changed it out. Fried fish was mushy. The smoked chicken was way underdone. The mashed potatoes had raw unmashed potatoes in them. The clam chowder really had a awkward taste to them. Needless to say I didn't eat much of that. Went back & got some fried chicken & meatloaf. (Still no more pot roast was put out). The fried chicken was kind of mushy and the meatloaf tasted like mushy bread. Have to say that the salad was good. The desert bar was mostly empty. Also we never saw our server, if that's the correct name. She never took any used plates off of our table. We definitely will not return. We got a call from the manager and he said that was a bad day. Short handed and nothing was going well. He said he would send us a certificate for 2 free dinners. Well that didn't happen. I was later asked by corporate if things went ok. I told them no. Never got certificates. The next day I got a call from the manager telling me he got our address wrong. He resent them. We got them a few days later and went back. We live in Capitan, NM and it 70 miles to Roswell. Well not much of an improvement. The awesome pot roast was really good. Brisket was really dry & terrible. Ribs were super dry & I didn't even bother getting them. Server was ok. Needless to say, that's it for the Roswell store. No more. To many really good restaurants to go to there when we're in town. read more

Hey, i'm no food critic but the food here is great. I go all the time it's natural and I get other people don't like it. Others may have their weird thoughts but hey, it's my review trying to help you. I like that every time I go the service is so nice and I love that in a restaurant. Last, I would have given them a 5-star review but the meatloaf has gotten worse over time and I wish it would become a bit better. I recommend this to anyone that is hungry and could eat they can see. I can assure you you'll have a great time if you want to. read more

So....let's be honest. You don't come to Golden Corral for fine dining. You kinda know what you're gonna get. But with this location, you get much less. In our ignorance we thought, that will be quick and easy. What we got was ice cold food, raw hamburger, stale I don't know what that was, and a piece of cake you could literally light a match off of. It was brought up to the manager and she gave us two free meal coupons. We gave them away to the server as we won't be returning. Cold Taco Bell would have tasted better. The highlight? My husband and I have gone the last three Thanksgiving buffets. This year was so bad that we won't be back. I'll cook or fix frozen meal next year! So I'll start at salads, so many empty trays it was hard to fill the plate. Iceberg lettuce was old with brown edges, spinach wilted and the potato/macaroni salads were bland. Not much was available. After that we went to the sliced turkey, waited to get served because I didn't want to reach over hot trays. Then on to find soupy mashed potatoes no gravy and no to the tired vegetables and sides. First time my green bean casserole had ham in it. Waited in line for dressing which seemed to be the line for ham to be sliced. Never saw sweet potatoes or real cranberry sauce. Went back to get pumpkin ? pie and the last piece of cherry pie. No pecan and nothing else was appealing. Two good things are we had no wait to get in and no children to mess with food. read more

Decent golden corral, service is usually a little on the slow and forgetful side but can be great. Food is generally good, but can sometimes be cold. It's a golden corral, but it's not a golden corral in the south. Solid food, easy way to get a variety of vegetables and meat, but also not exactly quality and a bit inconsistent. For example, sometimes the Bourban chicken is burnt (I don't mind, it's good flavor), the mashed potatoes can vary between trays, the burgers may sometimes have chunks of cold fat in them... Don't recommend the bread pudding or the vegetable medley, but overall- it's pretty decent read more

The best place to take 5 people with various preferences for breakfast is a buffet and Golden Corral hit the spot. We were in town as part of a road trip and I suggested Golden Corral just because of the variety of food types they have at the one back home. There was literally something for everyone - the one that wanted the omelette, the one that wanted the pancakes, the one that wanted the chocolate-covered fruit, the one that wanted the protein, etc. Sure, you can find similar items at other restaurants, but getting exactly what you want and at exactly the quantity you want it is awesome. The waitress was friendly and speedy with drink refills and plate removal. I highly recommend to Roswellians and visitors alike. read more

The worst Golden Corral ever. Friday night, no fajitas, no steak and nothing that justifies $14 per person. Every dish was old or empty. Please understand, I generally know what to expect from this buffet chain, but this location really killed any desire I have to visit again. Nothing against the service or the people but this does not make up for not having fresh food available. When steak was finally prepared, it was a piece of fat with a bite of meat. Nice ice cream, fruits, salads, fry chicken, all kinds of sandwiches, rice, pasta, pizza, orange chicken, soups are salty, and that is the only thing not good. Sunday lunch is full price and long line of waiting, but with nice steak, good thing for this place is the free coffee that the server brings. I enjoy this place once a week. read more

This is the second Golden Corral I've had lunch. The food is pretty good considering it's a chain buffet restaurant. Good choice of selections, although there were some things I didn't try (i'm not a veggie eater and the fried ocra scared me). The desserts were good too - LOVE blueberry pie :-) This restaurant had plates available at the buffet instead of a server bringing them to you. The waitresses (no guys working the tables) were friendly and, most of the time, were quick to refill drinks. The restaurant was really clean, which surprised me for some reason. Lunch plus a drink was around $11. Lots of families were there. There were mostly couples and a few groups of 4 or more. Probably a good place to meet-up with people 'cause everyone can have what they want and not feel rushed to get out. Eventually I'll get to a Gold Corral during dinner and see what that's like. read more

This is a pretty good Golden Corral. (I've only been to 2 others and they were not so good. ) This restaurant generally has fresh food that is prepared well; a little over cooked sometimes - but you have to expect a little of that in a buffet. The salad bar is fresh and well stocked. The meats are cooked well and flavorful. The waitstaff are usually pretty attentive and keep plates clear. My only BIG complaint is the desert bar. It IS GOOD and has a vast assortment of treats. The only problem is that you FREQUENTLY (like 80%) find it seems pretty much unattended. It's not unusual to find empty pudding and cobbler pans, and the cakes and pies are usually hacked up looking... They really need to slice them and separate out the slices a bit. Instead they often semi-cut one or two slices and leave the rest with a slicer for you to "have at it"! It is very difficult to slice and serve yourself. If there happens to be a lot of little kids trying to help themselves... forget it! Plenty of times I've seen that dessert table look like a mini tornado blew through. I've seen the cakes look like someone took a weed whacker to them! I know it's difficult - too many parents just chill at the table while their little ones struggle to get a piece of cake or whatever... which is why its up to the manager to make sure someone is there taking care of things. It's the last/final impression they make on most customers - and it's the worst. read more

The standard American buffet, there is the usual salad bar, deep fried foods, entrees and dessert bar. Food is fresh, but not exciting compared to other buffet. Selection is very limited. The highlight is the grill, fresh grilled meats. At the dessert section, there is a sign "Vegas style dessert", wow I never thought Vegas have good desserts in their buffet. But, I guess that's an attraction here in Roswell. If you are in the mood for basic American food, this is it. read more

Old food, and few choices. Even the steak was just sitting on the grill, I was given an old burned piece instead of a new one. Wings were so tough I didn't swallow a bite. We arrived in Roswell after a long morning of driving from Santa Fe. Hubby looked up good restaurants on YELP and we were very pleased. I confirm the good ratings. They had everything we wanted. I had a salad with boiled shrimp, pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn and blueberry pie for dessert. The buffet was $7.99. The tea, at $1.99, is high; so next time I'll get water. I've gone to my fair share of Golden Corrals in many different cities. This is by far one of the cleanest and well kept ones. I love vegetables and they have a huge selection. They were all perfectly cooked. Usually you get over cooked mushy vegetables.... Not here! Roasted chicken is another favorite of mine. Boy was it moist and tasty! Not sure how this Golden Corral is able to cook such superior food compared to the other locations, but these chefs know what they are doing! I had a cold salad, roast, peas & corn, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and dessert for $6.99 early bird Buffett. we dined at 2:15 pm. staff was very attentive and the restaurant was full. if you are looking for good ol American food, you can't go wrong at this Golden Corral. this GC is not as big as the GC is bigger cities and may not have as much variety as other larger GC's. read more

This was our first time eating at Golden Corral. When you enter they will ask and hand you what you would like to drink failing to notify you that drinks are not included in the buffet price for adults. They were about $2.50 I believe. Drinks are included with kids price, but not for adults. You pay upon entrance and after I paid we were left standing there. The worker goes off to talk to another worker. Also brings out her phone and starts texting. We didn't know if she was looking for a table for us or if we sit anywhere. I finally asked her after standing there for 3 mins and she finally said you sit anywhere. This was an ongoing issue with workers just chatting with each other instead of offering customer service. Food is not great at all. Very dry and no seasoning. Also, they don't use sauce you're familiar with they use their own brand steak sauce, not A1 for example. Finally got to dessert and I stood there and yelled out excuse me 4 times to the ladies that were chatting with each other just to get a scoop of ice cream. If management is reading this I suggest you train your employees to chat on their break, not on the clock. Seriously so unprofessional. I will not be going back to any Golden Corral establishment due to this bad experience. read more

Well let's see, the amount of grease the sausage links were floating in was nearly a half inch, that was disgusting. However the sausage party's weren't even edible. The biscuits were hard, I covered then in gravy and still had to use a knife to cut them in half. The cinnamon rolls I tried to put on my kid's plate was also half hard, when I pulled it out of the pan half of it stuck to the pan. One of the two gravy pans stayed empty and congealed like a flood water line on the sides of the pan. The eggs were good, the gravy was decent, we are all full despite the condition of some of the foods at the buffet. Our waitress only had the six tables in our section yet she came by for refills one time. Oh she just came back and cleared the table of plates but never offered a refill.
