Weekends or Holidays get here before the crowd. This location has a large menu all reasonably price. The food comes out with more then enough to eat and have enough to share. Staff attitudes vary but typically most are friendly and are able to answer all menu questions. read more

the place is pretty out dated and the menu is huge but the food is good and portions are so large that 4 persons sitting at a table their meals will fill the table up totally. I love the breads they give with dinner, the rice pudding is a family favorite too. Mostly fun for the older folk but still not bad and service has always been very good in my experience. I'm pretty easy when it comes to restaurants. I don't have a bunch of demands and I generally don't make the wait staff run a bunch. I worked as a waiter and a bartender for many years so I understand that tips are important and the job is difficult dealing with so many different people. Recently my friends and I went to the Golden Dawn for a late nite dinner. I entered the establishment at about 11:25 pm and I was greeted but that is where the pleasantries ended. As soon as I told the young lady that we had a party of four she felt the need to explain to me that the restaurant was closing at midnight. I said " does that mean we need to be done and out by then. "Yea" was her response. After briefly considering the time now 1127pm we decided to give it a try. As we entered the seating area we could hear the waitress loudly complaining that she was getting a table. Ironically she was complaining to another table of 6. We sat down and we received our menus. After a few minutes 1131 pm the waitress reappeared to ask us if we knew what we wanted yet. She further explained that the kitchen was closing in 3 minutes. At that point we decided to go someplace else. I am a long time veteran of customer service. I am sure that the "customer" is not supposed to be viewed as an interruption or inconvenience but rather the purpose for the business. Nothing about the two individuals suggested to me that they had been independently wealthy. The sad part is I have been a customer there for about 12 years. I usually go to the place 3 to 5 times a year. Now they have lost my business for the future and I am pretty sure I have told and will tell this story many times. In service of any kind the customers are the reason the doors are open. Accommodating the needs of the paying/tipping customer is the fabric of what defines success in retail. At the end of the day I can spend my hard earned dollars any where. I am certain it will not be at the Golden Dawn! read more

Great place to go to with your family, also really great cheesecake and burgers. The appetizers were fantastic, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to find a great place with their family, they're also very friendly. food sucks, prices too high, and parking with new business sharing the lot is a nightmare and you can rest assured of getting your car dented while there, personally steer clear , even the board of health has shut them down way too many times for my liking read more

Not a huge breakfast menu. service was horrible! we ordered 2 breakfasts (eggs and toasts) it came with potatoes which had no flavor. I asked for wheat toast with no butter and it had butter, and I also asked for eggs scrambled and I got an omelet The hostess had the worst attitude I have ever seen in a long time! Can't say I was impressed. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly but the food was just blah. I got the Fried Ravioli which is listed on the menu as an entree. It sounded unusual to me so I figured I'd try it out. The salad I received with the meal was nice and fresh, it also came with soup which I gave to my boyfriend. I can't imagine how anyone could eat a salad, a soup and an entree. When the entree arrived, it was 4 very large battered and fried ravioli on a piece of lettuce with a bowl of tomato sauce on the side. It looked much more like an over sized appetizer. The ravioli was awful. The filling was gritty and dry, the batter had no flavor and two of them were undercooked. I couldn't finish them. It was my boyfriends birthday however so I asked the waitress to bring him a slice of cake, as a surprise when he went to the restroom. She was so sweet and got the whole staff to sing to him. She brought us over the largest slice of complimentary strawberry short cake I'd ever seen. So while my meal was not very good, the service was great. Stopped because I had an early morning meeting in the area. I had not "yelped" the area. I had figured there had to be a Wawa or a fast food. I now wish I lived in the area. I had one of the breakfast special - western omelet, home fries, toast, coffee for $4.79. The menu lists it at over $6.50. Nothing was sized down. Great deal. Really good food. I just went for breakfast this morning at the Golden Dawn in Levittown. I walked in and was able to immediately get a seat at the counter. I noticed right away that this place was clean, not too noisy, and nicely decorated. I ordered the French Toast with sausage, oj, and a couple of cups of coffee. Everything was cooked right and tasted great. My waitress at the counter Jen was very friendly. There was another waitress named Josie who was also very friendly. Altogether this place is very hospitable. I highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing breakfast! read more

Was there with family last night - terrible meal. And this is the second time in a month that we have been there - we went last night because we thought maybe the last time was an off night - we were wrong. Both times the service was terrible and the food - from the soup to the main course was cold!! And the chicken soup was nothing but celery! We told the servers both times that the food was served cold and rather than have them re-heat it we opted to box it up and take it home to re-heat ourselves. I had fish & chips - nasty when they are not served piping hot. After last night we decided we will not be going back. For the money the least that they could do is serve hot food. read more

My mom and I like to come here for lunch, as it's right around the corner from my house. The matzo ball soup is quite good, and the fries are very crispy and adequately seasoned. Service is typically friendly, and facility is clean and friendly. Breakfast fare is also good, especially the pancakes! read more

on Sunday at 1pm my hubby and I went into the diner for lunch after church. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, bacon home fries and toast. The hubby got the same thing but had scrapple instead of bacon and his eggs were over easy. After ordering, in 3 minutes our food was on the table. First, my bacon was cold and had white lines in it like it was cooked hours earlier and it just sat about. The home fries were tasteless, and hard. My eggs were slightly warm, not fresh. Hubby's eggs were fresh. I was not about to send it back and order something else so I just did not eat. Hubby ate the eggs and his scrapple but agreed the home fries and toast were cold and nasty. I explained to the waitress the issue, she was very nice and apologized for that. It was not her fault, she just serves the food. Then the "manager" comes over and instead of saying I am very sorry she starts arguing with me about the bacon being "well done". Sorry,..it was well done hours ago! Then she said the home fries had rave reviews all morning! I said well, it was 1 pm perhaps in the morning they were good. Now they were cold and hard. This woman was nasty and did not understand that customer service was more important than trying to defend her nasty eggs, bacon, fries and oil soaked toast. Truth is, last couple times I have been there it has gone down hill. I attribute it to the fact that another eatery has opened (actually expanded) and is doing quite well with a Sunday brunch and a wonderful menu. So , here's a tip for Golden Dawn...when someone has a complaint, be nice and say "I'm sorry, what can we do to make this right"...Not argue with the person. Thought it might be time to give this place another try after not going for many years after finding a dead fly in the salad. This time for breakfast. The meat lovers omlette was overcooked, thin pieces of browned eggs and chopped up meats with not much flavor. The potatoes were a sheet of what looked like were stuck to the bottom of the grill. I do like crispy potatoes but normally they are seperate pieces. The pancakes were ok but the butter that came out with them had bits of something in it..toast, potato,?? My boyfriend has been a regular here for years. I've come here with him at least half a dozen times. The service and waitstaff were always awesome. The food edible, affordable, and generously portioned. Tonight I ordered a drink, a matzoh ball soup app and sliders. The soup tasted like ramen noodle chicken broth with a huge spongy glutinous mass in it. But, no biggie. Then the sliders came. The cheese wasn't melted, they were overcooked, had the chewiness and flavor of old wet cardboard. After one bite I said never mind. Our waitress offered to get something else but we asked to just charge us for the fries and let it go. That's when the Ramsey style kitchen nightmare started. The hostess came over and told me the sliders were fine. Very adamantly. I politely disagreed when she said they didn't want me to go home hungry, I asked for a dessert to go. When our bill came we had been charged for the inedible sliders. my boyfriend protested the charge and was rudely told that the diner was policy was to charge him. The sliders sucked, but even if they hadn't, the hostess should have graciously refunded the entree cost and absolutely not harassed me at the table. We won't be going back. read more
