Stony Hill Kitchen is an immaculate breakfast lunch space in the Makefield Crossing Executive Center off Township Line Road, Lower Makefield, PA. Although the three buildings appear to have low occupancy these days, the cafeteria-like first floor space appears to be doing all right. Ordering is by digital screens and credit/debit card. Food prep is behind the counter or from a large salad bar set up in the middle of the floor. Seems pretty efficient. I was aware of its existence from Yelp, as well as its previous incarnations. After visiting PennMed across the road, I decided to go over and see what was going on. First impressions were positive, so I ordered a Farmers Omelet (veggies, cheddar) home fries, sourdough toast and La Colombe Java. It came to around none bucks, picked up at the service counter and eaten at one of their free tables. This was a 2 egger with adequate sauteed onions, mushrooms, roasted red pepper and melted cheese. One slice of buttered toast accompanied the main dish. The potatoes were undercooked, but not so hard as to challenge my molars. The coffee was the strongest entrant to the breakfast sweepstakes, as La Colombe usually is. On a cooler day I would have been tempted to sit under the outdoor pergola to enjoy a more leisurely morning, but given the pre-thunderstorm forecast, I opted to remain inside in the sanitary surroundings. Too, given a choice I prefer less single use plastics than provided here. No deduction, but a word to the wise and ecologically sound. read more

Interesting little cafe. My "santa Monica" sandwich was so delicious. I ordered a side of cole slaw ($1 up charge). It was fresh and full of good stuff...just the right amount of slopy where you could still pick it up to eat it. Yum. I would get that again. The place is clean and a good size. Additional tables outside. Food...all fresh ingrediants. Impressive. Although, my friend's sandwich had raw bacon on hers...my bacon was crispy and good. I guess it happens sometimes. Ordering is done on computers...like WaWa. My other friend had a hard time ordering...after all, people over 60 kinda missed that modern technology curve. I helped her order. And, where it said "instructions" we put in dry toast and eggs over medium. I suggested she follow up at the counter to make sure it was cooked to her liking. She did! But unfortunately, eggs were fried omelet style and toast had butter. A big FLAW in their system. She just ate it the way it came out but she was very frustrated and annoyed. I really dislike adding a "tip" when "ordering". If service was slow or horrible...do I get to ask for my tip money back? If I don't tip enough will they wipe the floor with my bread? Are they that entitled to a tip in advance?? After all...that is their job!! That's what they signed up for! And still I added a tip but I really don't like adding a tip before I see the kind of service provided. I don't even understand why I needed to give a tip...I ordered, I got my own food and I even got up to get a refill for my water then I cleared my own table! They just did their job of making my sandwich. What exactly am I tipping??? They should have tipped ME!! The computer asks if you are dining in or taking out. 11 of us were dining in. Still everything came out in a take out box. Seemed like a lot of waste. The cafe is located in an office park. I see it being an ideal spot for those working in the area. Grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich or a quick delicious sandwich for lunch. For a group of 11 retired ladies lunch...it didn't work. We like to be waited on and have real dishes. Fun for us to try once. Overall however, it is a huge step up from Panera and more quality food than WaWa. Good place for a quick meal. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's in an office complex and seems to get most of its business from the area offices, but they are open to the public and have a great dining area. The atmosphere was fresh and clean and modern. You are able to order from a person or from an iPad. I ordered a burger. It was cooked nicely, not burned to a crisp. The BBQ sauce and crispy onions were very tasty and the bun was soft and delicious. I want to return to try some of their breakfasts. read more

Visited this Deli+ two days ago and was very impressed. this is a newish spot in the area which serves great quality food. their menu is very diverse and the ingredients are super fresh. i got the turkey club with home made turkey, that's right home made turkey on a multigrain bread. i didn't intend to finish it since it was a very generous portion, but finish I did. This was served with homemade potato chips!!! On top of getting a great lunch sandwich, I enjoyed watching the team of cooks hustle in their (super clean) open kitchen during rush lunch hour. The teams works like a well oiled machine with any challenges cleared up by one another. Finally this place is located in a small business park with lots of outdoor seating options for everyone. Loved it. Had the Buddha Bowl. Amazing. Delicious. Best meal I've had in months. Fresh veggies topped with scrambled egg, w/ balsamic glaze. Dining available outside near man made lake. I had some fasting blood work done across the street and thought I would get a quick bite from Stony Hill Kitchen. I placed my order for a breakfast bowl at 9:18 am (the receipt shows the time of the order). The place was empty and only 1 order went out in the 30 minutes that I waited listening to the happy chatter of the girls behind the counter. The cook worked pretty consistently while I waited. After 30 minutes, I approached the counter, got a girls attention and asked about my order. First time trying this place. I ordered through DD. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Quesadilla. Not Cajun in flavor at all. A lot of sweet onion flavor. Everything else, which looked like the inside of an egg roll had no discernible, individual flavoring. The quesadilla and everything in it was dark brown. It just had an oily, sweet onion "thing" going on. Reminded me of an over cooked grilled cheese the way it was cooked & looked but no cheesy flavor either. Edible but strange. Today three ladies had breakfast here. The place is bright and cheerful, but it gives the impression of a cafeteria. Two of us ordered two banana walnut pancakes and bacon. They were good, but rather expensive at $14.00 with coffee. Another lady order scrambled eggs which were awful. The eggs were flatter than a pancake and not at all fluffy. The eggs did not even come with a side of toast. The food was served in takeout boxes even though we were eating in. The food was also not hot. We had difficulty paying with the kiosks that were there. Two of us gave up and ordered at the counter. We were looking for a good breakfast spot, and hoped this would be it. I love this place. I'm a vegetarian and Stony Hill Kitchen luckily has plenty of vegetarian choices. Just ordered the Saint Fiarce which is a panini with grilled zucchini, yellow squash, red onion and roasted peppers with provolone, mozzarella and a balsamic reduction. It was delicious. I've also enjoyed their roasted vegetable quesadilla, Abruzzi Panini and Margherita PaninI. Their omelets are also tasty. The only critique that their food lacks a bit of salt. My panini today needed salt. And while I love that they make homemade potato chips, they also lack salt. They need to be seasoned as soon as they come out of the fryer.
