My family's old go to when we lived in AG. When you enter, you are welcomed. They had many donuts to choose from, especially for a Wednesday at 11:30am. Still thick glazed, filled to the max and very fluffy. The place, itself, hasn't changed one bit, since the 90's. Ambiance is still that old donut shop. My daughter loved her pink sprinkled and I loved my Jelly and Custard. My daughter thought that it was so cool that I used to go there as a kid and now she got to go. This is another favorite donut shop that I occasionally like to come by and visit because it's off the freeway of 101. Normally I'll just get like one donut or a croissant always something small. The customer service here is always excellent they tend to please all the customers that frequent their shop. The donuts here are pretty much tasty but I still have my other favorite donut shops along my route while driving on 101. I wish that they had more of a variety but like I said it's off the freeway and I'm just happy that there is a shop that I can go to while I'm on my way to work. I've been coming to this location for over twenty years. As the center around it changes, the one constant has been this shop, and for good reason. They know their products and execute them well. One couldn't think fried dough and sugar could require great technique. Whatever it is, this place has it. Shop isn't fancy, it's there to sell donuts. You'll find no hipster wall decor or comfy leather chairs. In fact, I sometimes think the wall decor was posted before I was born. But, you know what, that's okay. I want fried dough done right, not atmosphere and ambience (as long as it's kept clean)! Their prices are fair for the product. I'm sure there are cheaper stores elsewhere, but in my experience it isn't worth it. The variety is pretty good, although Sunshine Donuts (another great shop) in SLO has a more diverse selection. My favorites are always bear claw, maple bar, old fashioned, blueberry (more like freeze-dried blueberry candies inside, but that's okay) and glazed. Also, more often than not, donut holes are tossed into a box free of charge (I know, they probably want to ensure they get rid of them, too, but still appreciated.) Not a regular donut buyer, but I know at least one shop at the AG/Pismo divide that does it well. A solid staple for sweet satisfaction. read more

This donut place was good. The donuts are fresh and the service was good. The reason for the 4 Star is the price of a dozen donuts was 16.50 Which I thought was a little high. Most of the donuts were regular ones and I only got a couple specialty donuts. The sign didn't state that different donuts would change the price of the dozen.
