I can't understand the positive reviews. I went here because I was in the area and read on another review that it's just like New York style Chinese food. Maybe they had a different cook when they went, but it is nothing at all like New York Chinese food. The quality of the food was awful and it was tasteless. The egg roll was overcooked. There is no ambience at all, but what really surprised me is they do not give out cups of water. I asked for a cup of water, and was told they have no water and I would need to purchase a store brand one for $1. When a restaurant in the desert doesn't give out a complimentary cup of tap water, it tells you something. I went to eat inside there, and they gave the food in styrofoam. To add insult to injury, my son didn't like his food and didn't want it and they would not take it back for something else. I took his to-go and it leaked out because it was so watery. My son then was sick from the food when we got home. I wouldn't eat here again if it were free. You've been warned. read more

This my second time eating here. Both times the quality of food was very poor. First I ordered chicken fried rice. The chicken tasted boiled and mixed with the fried rice. Disgusting in a word. Fed the concoction to my dog. The second time I ordered sweet and sour chicken (thinking this is a classic so it should be safe). The chicken looked and tasted like McDonalds Mc Nuggets. This restaurant is located behind the Shell Gas Station. The decor, is nicely thought out, with green booths, surrounded with the color burgundy. My server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Shrimp with Vegetables Lunch and the Walnut Shrimp Lunch. Both dishes were nicely presented. Each came with a scoop of fried rice, one spring roll, one crab puff and soup. If you are looking for fancy, you will be disappointed. This place has been in business for a very long time. It used to be a beautiful freestanding building across the street. The food has always been good and consistent. They moved across the street into a small strip mall and lowered their over head. Mostly they are used for take out. Take out can take up to 30 minutes because they have so much take out. Their food is amazing and the prices are good. Visiting and was looking for decent Chinese food and drinks near our hotel. Yelp rarely leads us astray but here it did. Food is mediocre; not horrible but not Chinese. No alcohol is served... I've never been to a full service Chinese restaurant that at least didn't serve beer/wine. Our server was scattered, inattentive and all over the place. Served some their dinners while others were getting their appetizers. Took over 10 minutes for the entire table of five to fully get all their meals. Other customers actually came in after us and received their meals before us. We did not order anything extensive. We ended up having to get up and get our own to go containers from the bus station. I tried this Golden Dragon location for the first time yesterday. I should have turned around and walked out as soon as I set foot in the door. The interior is very plain and frugal. There was not one customer in the place, and there were no signs of to-go orders waiting to be picked up. Hindsight tells me that business is probably not good. I placed a small order and took it home. The fried rice tasted and looked as if it could have been made hours, even a day or more previously, and reheated. The main dish was bland and thickened excessively with what I can only assume was too much corn starch. It was extremely bland. The egg roll tasted sour and I tossed it after 3 small bites. I gobble up frozen egg rolls from Winco, so you know this one was gross. I ended up throwing out almost ALL of this food. The price was competitive with other places in the area, but I would not go back to this place if the food were half the price. I also read the reviews before entering and everyone seems to enjoy it, so I gave it a try. Well, I am glad I went $10.50 with tax for the orange chicken combo- one of the most popular items ordered according to the young man. Large amount of chicken, could use a side of orange sauce. They use brown rice with egg and bean sprouts(ok). Delicious egg roll and cream cheese puff ( more like a side) it's larger than all places I have been. First, that was too much food for the two of us. Not a bad thing. We both thought that the food was very good. As I could not pick between the different Lo Mein's, I got it taste it all.
