What surprised us was the home made Che Desserts they had in the fridge by the cashier!! AND OUR FAV PICKS!! The green potato sticky rice with coconut cream is my favorite.10/10. Broken Rice with Grilled Pork and Egg omelette - 10/10. They definitely marinade their own pork meat. The pork shreds were also just right. The fish sauce dip also not overbearing!! Perfect plate. Bo Kho Mi Banh Mi - Beef Stew with Egg noodle and side of baguette. Good! Enjoyed the star anise aromatics. The bread is delicious. Came here due to another Pho place being closed when we doubled with some friends. I absolutely housed my Pho, it's one of those dishes I always enjoy but get it so infrequently I don't realize how much I want it until I'm eating it! The food here is great, but this place is down right RACIST ASF! Me and my husband (both white) LOVE PHO! We like to try new pho places every week, and this one was recommended, we sat there for 30 minutes before our pho came out. Which is not normal for pho places. We had 3 Asian people come in about 20 minutes after us and immediately got their pho within 5-8 minutes. Then they proceeded to come out with ours 10 minutes later..... mind you after about a party of 10 Asians came in when we get our food and not even 5-10 minutes after we got ours they got there's. It was pretty obvious we waited so much longer because we were a different skin tone. Also there was a white old man sitting across from us who was there before us and got his pho when we had gotten ours so he was there longer than us! We were about to up and leave. They're foods great though. I recommend the eggs rolls, but if you're white you're going to be waiting a fat minute. Hubby and I have been searching for some authentic Vietnamese foods and been craving for some Bun bo Huế and came across Pho and Boba on YELP and decided to check it out.. Location wasn't in the best of centers, next to Neighborhood Walmart and pretty run down area but there was plenty of parking.. Restaurant was simple there was nothing fancy few tables and chairs, there wasn't anything that stood out. Restaurant was clean. Place could use a bit of remodeling , declutterred and made more modern . Nevertheless We were quickly greeted by very friendly young lady . Menu selection was huge , a bit overwhelming, but Hubby and I ordered 2 bowls of Bun bo Huế , 2 egg rolls for appetizer and a Vietnamese ice coffee. Foods were excellent , very tasty and flavorful. Although for 2 egg rolls price seemed a bit high. Vietnamese coffee was a bit on the sweet side, from the menu there was a picture of the OG drip so I was excited to order it but when it came out it was already premade in a sealed plastic cup. I have eaten here before when they haven't changed ownership and the food was great... this time I tried it with new ownerships and I was really disappointed!! Found it on Yelp and specifically came for the banh cuon but was told they don't have the regular banh cuon with the ground pork and only had it with the pork ham and shredded pork. They also didn't have their Vietnamese meatloaf or certain desserts/drinks. Restaurant was small and slow, but I'm not surprised. Place wasn't that clean either. Like they don't wipe down tables or seats? Our table had crumbs and left over noodles pieces on the seat. I'm visiting from out of town and was looking forward to having banh cuon because we don't have that at restaurants where I live, only to be let down and told they don't have the main one. I was recommended by a friend to come try this Pho restaurant and it certainly deserves a positive review. Delicious Vietnamese food without breaking the bank even with the increased of food prices nationwide. I ordered the Pho with Round Steak & Meatballs, Grilled Pork Banh Mi, and a Sesame Bread. My bowl was quickly delivered to my table and the broth was steaming hot (just the way I like!). There was plenty of rice noodles underneath with a very flavorful broth but a bit salty for my preference. The restaurant is clean with all the condiments already accessible on the table. The Grilled Pork Banh Mi tasted great, it was made fresh with a crunchy baguette. The Sesame Bread was fluffy and doughy and worth the $1.50. We moved to the NW valley almost a year and half ago from the east valley and been on a mission to find good Viet food. When I saw the huge menu I was very impressed. They have a wide variety of traditional dishes I remember from my childhood and some things I've always wanted to try. We shared the combo platter because every place we go we need to try the spring rolls and egg rolls. This one had egg rolls, spring rolls, crab puffs, and fried shrimps. All were very tasty and fresh. The reason I came here was because I was craving Canh Chua which is a sweet and sour soup. I ordered it with the shrimp and catfish. I was very impressed with the amount of ingredients they filled my bowl with and a very good portion of dish and shrimp. Tasted just how I remembered it and it was very good. Hubby had beef pho. Anise was a tad strong but overall very good. I want to go back and try the 100 other items on the menu. And I'm not kidding. There are over 100 items on the menu. So you can't not find something you would enjoy. They also have a variety of fresh made desserts in the cooler. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because service was horrible and inconsistent. Truly had an amazing time here, and would love to come back to check out their huge menu! I came here with my sister for pho, but I need to come back to try all of the other amazing-looking Vietnamese dishes that this place has to offer. I ordered the chicken pho and my sister ordered the eye round steak pho. Both of these tasted amazing, better than all of my regular pho places TBH! SO flavorful. I believe they add garlic to the broth and that makes a huge difference in flavor. The bowls came out quickly and piping hot! We also ordered some Thai tea with boba, and custard pudding milk tea with boba. Both of these were great. I had never had custard pudding flavored milk tea before, I really enjoyed it. I took a star off because we asked if they could do spring rolls with only shrimp and no pork, and they said yes but they gave the spring rolls to us with pork anyway. I was not aware until I already started eating them. I believe that restaurants should be more conscious of these requests as when people request no pork, it is usually a cultural and/or religious matter, and kind of a big deal. Three stars for the friendly and helpful staffs. I explained that I like my BBH spicy so they gave me extra chili oil on the side, extra lemon and shrimp paste. Everything was perfect from the veggies and presentation but when it came to the broth, it was on the sweet side. You have to understand, once broth is sweet, no matter how much spice you add, it's not spicy. I even add bunch of Sriracha. The broth would be good for another noodle soup but not for BBH. I didn't taste any lemongrass. For my spring rolls, you really can't mess it up but the dipping sauce is what really make a good spring rolls. What a surprising find in Phoenix. My co-worker, who is Vietnamese, recommended Pho and Boba and I initially was skeptical by the name of the restaurant. But had to trust his recommendation. I reviewed their menu and was very surprised to see broken rice dishes. I asked the server if they truly served broken rice, because I have gone to Vietnamese restaurants and on their menu they state broken rice, but then they serve jasmine rice instead! Server said yes they serve broken rice, so I ordered Com Dac Biet. Great dish, great flavor, and good portion. Also, their Pho is pretty decent with good portion. My go to Pho is with rare steak, tripe, and tendon. I've read other reviews about how their service can be spotty, and I'm ok with that cause when I got to Asian genre restaurants, I go there for the food, not for their service. I wanted to like this place. I saw their "COMING SOON" signs just before lockdown happened. My heart went out to them along with the other small businesses hit hard. A couple days ago, I was in the area and decided it was finally time to give them a try. I walked in to place a to-go order, which I now understand is my first mistake. Looks like a big chunk of business is phone orders for pick up. But besides that, two other parties had walked in for dine-in after I had already ordered and paid, yet they were served before me. I also watched 3 phone orders pick up with ease as I sat waiting for my order. My order was simple. 2 orders of spring rolls, and two orders of beef stew. Even though I waited a total of 40 mins for what I thought was a fast food order, I was not wowed. I drove home with my food and sat with an open mind, despite waiting twice as long as I expected to--especially for what essentially came out as soup. My spring rolls were fine. My stew was full of tiny meat pieces and big chunks of Fat. The "stew" was more of a soup consistency. So for my vietnamese Beef Stew fix, I'll stick to PHO 602 on Bethany Home/35th Ave. And even though I normally go to Lee's Sandwiches on 75th/Thunderbird for Banh Mi, I will probably be back here to try their version of it. Its always nice to have options, right? And even though Im a huge fan of the Pho at Pho Tan Thanh (sit down eatery inside Lee Lee Supermarket on 75th Ave/Cactus), I will probably come back here to try it also.
