Terrible...just terrible. On their website, they say they are the "Company that Cares", and they have "a heart of gold". So with that, how do they live with themselves. They completely damaged my parents brand new refrigerator during the move. Not only did they damage it, they admitted to damaging it and then lied about it and changed paperwork to cover it up. And now we have zero recourse. Be careful, they will trick you into selecting the $0.60 per pound insurance and then when something like this happens, it's "too bad so sad". All they care about is their corporation and not the consumer. My parents bought a brand new $2500 fridge that is now damaged. Rather than doing the right thing and getting them a new one, they are standing behind their corporate contracts. This is not how a human being should act. If you are the company that cares with a heart of gold, then do the right thing. And don't lie and cover up what occurred during transit. I have time-stamped pictures of the fridge. My previous experience with United Van Lines was fantastic so thought should use local distributor in Upland for our move this time. Unfortunately it was a terrible experience. Driver and copartner did not load truck correctly so furniture was crushed, boxes were crushed and lots of things were broke. It was very easy for sales rep to blame us for possibly not packing items correctly however that was not the case. The crushed and broken furniture is proof in what took place. In addition, we had a large home of items moving and for the driver to not bring enough help to handle the offload was a huge concern. Very bad decisions made by driver and company. We used Golden Eagle because our first experience in 2016 was positive. Our most recent move in 2022 was the exact opposite. The movers arrived later than promised and our move was expected to take 7-8 hours. It took them over 5 hours to load the truck. Once they finished, they asked to take an hour-long lunch break. I told them ok, but I wasn't paying over the 8 hour limit. They said ok, but it took them another 6 hours to unload. They also wanted to take a break to get soda(?) mid-way thru unloading. I told them I had sodas for them to drink if they could just finish the move. For amove that was supposed to begin at 8 and end at 4, started at 9 am and didn't end until after 9 pm. The movers were not professional, and "lost" several items. I filed a claim, but GE simply said that their check found that everything was delivered. We will NEVER use them again and I strongly suggest that anyone else who is considering a move, uses a different company. They were terrible. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. read more

My mom and I spent a day recently with Prince and his team of movers. The move was from a second story apartment in Mission Viejo to a smaller home in Claremont. There were some very awkward and/or heavy pieces and these guys were great. The move took eight hours and they worked hard. The three men observed social distancing and wore masks making us feel comfortable during all interactions. What stands out even more was their patience as my mom had them stop at a friend's house where more items were stored, then drop off the items she did not want at a thrift store near Claremont and finally her new home. My mom had many questions and the three men were very polite and they answered them all with patience. I have to give props to them for also having a sense of humor when things were getting a little crazy. Additionally, the whole crew was very neat and tidy during our chaos. Every time I looked in the truck, the blankets, wardrobe boxes, etc. were always folded and stacked nicely. The prices were very reasonable. My mom sat down with Prince at the end of the day and went over the costs line-by-line answering every question she had. Golden Eagle provides great service. What a great moving experience. They treated our belongings like they were moving valuable museum pieces. Superb staff from Reina in the office, to Nick who surveyed our house, and the moving crew (the "J" Team)...everyone was friendly and efficient, and made a nerve-wracking experience a very calming one. Golden Eagle provided loading services for us for a U-Pack move from SoCal to East Texas. The crew showed up on time and worked diligently to carefully load all our possessions onto the U-Pack truck. I was impressed with their care in padding and packaging everything that needed it, and their ability to tightly load the truck. The bottom line is that our belongings arrived in East Texas in great shape. One end table with rather unsubstantial legs had a leg break off, but that was the extent of the damage. If you are considering a U-Pack move, Golden Eagle is a great choice. One tip: since you must supply your own moving blankets for a U-Pack move, go online and order plenty of them, because this crew will use a lot of them to protect your belongings, and that's a good thing. I had to run out and get more, and pay substantially more than I did for the ones I had purchased in advance online. read more

Golden Eagle Moving United Van Lines took excellent care of my 2 vaults for 7 years. They packed up my things and moved them from FL to CA. I was able to access the vaults whenever I needed to get items out. When I was ready to have the vaults delivered and emptied the crew was very polite and efficient. They patiently waited as I decided where each box should go. I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything was in perfect condition. Nothing was broken and there were many breakable items. All of them are in excellent condition due to the care taken during packing, shipping, storing, and unpacking. The front office staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. My packers, Jake and Richard, were efficient and professional and had my 4 bedroom home completely packed in 5 hours. Beware leaving CA with these shippers. I've been told you MUST REPORT all missing boxes upon arrival. Furniture was delivered with parts torn off and over 200 boxes, bicycle in disrepair, but you MUST COUNT the boxes or no claim is allowed for missing boxes. Driver was down the road when I realized sewing cabinet wasn't delivered. A WEEK LATER it was brought to me by two guys in an SUV along with FOUR BOXES. Bad enough the entire shipment was brought days late. Things they took apart in CA they did not know how to put back together upon arrival. Recommend: review Yelp for a decent delivery service. Gotta be better than this. I had a family member here watching and he just started laughing and shaking his head it was all such a mess. read more

I can't imagine moving without Golden Eagle Moving Services. From the beginning our estimator/Mike Brunet was on time, friendly and answered all our questions, even some we didn't think of. He put us at ease. When we needed to make a few changes, our coordinator, Caroline Vela was terrific. She was always on top of things and never made me feel like I was a bother. Our driver, Ken Ross was great. Very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We had heard such horror stories from friends about other moving companies but everyone at Golden Eagle put us at ease and we had no problems. Just finished a move from SoCal to Albuquerque. From the beginning estimate to the delivery in ABQ this move went well. This is an update on my move from Upland CA to Williamsburg VA. I had previously used Golden Eagle for two local moves and as I noted in February, their entire team was wonderful. After a three month delay, my builder finished my new house. I closed on July 22nd and on July 27th, my furniture arrived. My items spend about 5 months in storage and everyone at Golden Eagle was great. My furniture was actually picked up and delivered by Jaanusz Andre Szantruczek who was driving a huge Mayflower semi-tractor. Caroline was was awesome - calling before, during and after the move. And Andres also called me several times to give me a status report. Andre is an incredible professional driver and his assistants - Kevin and Jesus were equally great. They were very careful and efficient. The inventory checking process is great and saved a lot of time. I strongly recommend their services from beginning to end. I and my wife moved from Rancho Cucamonga to Rancho Mirage, after living at our home for myself 21 years, and combining two homes into one 9 years ago. We got ride of a lot of stuff, but still had a lot to move on moving day. We chose this moving company among 3 businesses that we had received quotes from based on cost and other reviews. When discussing terms with Chris, we were made believe that our property was covered for damages and we were not offered any additional coverage or insurance. When our items were delivered after they had been in the moving company's storage facility for about a month, there were moths in a rug and a lamp shade was broken. I claimed these damages still believing that I would be reimbursed for the cost of replacing these items costing approximately $1500. When I received a check I could not believe it. It was in the amount of $15! It turns out my items were not actually covered. I was reimbursed for only 60 cents per pound of damaged item. I want everyone to know that Golden Eagle will try to underbid other companies making you believe that your property is covered for damages. In the end, I have to be thankful that I "only" suffered $1500 in damages. I do not even want to imagine a situation, in which all items would have been damaged or lost! read more

We are now told they 'May' deliver our items 10 days after what they guaranteed- while we pay for a hotel with no reduction in their quoted expensive fee.....go elsewhere with your business. Caroline told me to call the corporate office which I did, and they wouldn't even allow me to speak to a manager. Her claim that there are labor shortages are irrelevant- they should not have accepted my business if they couldn't deliver on what they promised. Plus my neighbor used another Company to move twice as far, and they had their belongings in three days. read more

The three man team and truck the company provided was on time and the men worked very hard all day, and wrapped and covered whatever was needed. We have used United Van Lines/Golden Eagle Moving (Upland) for our relocation from CA to TX back in Nov 2020. The packers did a great job of packaging everything up. The following day, the items were picked up were it later sat for nearly two weeks. Between the time it left our place and when we received the delivery, our items were reboxed and re-sorted (I believe to consolidate into the actual truck transporting it to TX). That is where the integrity was lost. All the numbers from the tally checked out, however, not all of the contents inside the boxes were there. My wife is missing 3 out of 4 Chanel dresses and 1 pair of Louis Vuitton shoes. The hangers along with the dress covers were all in the box, but 3 of the 4 were empty. We didn't notice until much later since it was zipped up and she did not wear those dresses frequently. I should give 1 star, but because the service I worked with face-to-face and the follow-up call from Caroline were great, I gave it 2. The grand piano was put back together and stayed in tune, but all it take is one bad experience to mess up all the "at-a-boys". read more

I made sure to ask what the estimate was based on. Was told a handful of times, distance and weight. Asked about an estimate, and it was communicated as what I deemed nonessential to the process. That could have been a miscommunication error on my part, but it wasted a lot of time and kept me from exploring other options. I decided to go for the estimate anyway and the salesman (who was incredibly rude, you know the sort, made me feel stupid for asking questions, etc. I am a woman, I think this was part of it) told me that an estimate was necessary to book the moving company. We did the estimate remotely, thank you Covid, and I didn't hear from him for over a week. I called and they had the wrong email address, even though I had confirmed the my email address via an email from me and had given it over the phone at least once. He estimated I had 7000 pounds and my stuff would cost 8000 dollars to move to my new location. It felt really, really high, but since I was assured that the cost was based on weight, I called and asked when the actual weight would be given. Vague answer. So I asked if the estimate was binding. First I was told yes, then I was told no, by the same person in the same conversation. This was because the estimate could only go up if the weight was more, but if the weight was less, you have to stick with the estimate. So the information initially given that the estimate was based on weight was dishonest. If my stuff had been weighed and weighed 4,000 pounds, I would still be charged for 7000 pounds. AND the items that were estimated were converted into volume, and then the volume was converted into weight in a system they had designed. None of this was told to me when I was questioning how I would be charged when I was shopping for a moving company. Everyone told me that all moving companies play this ripoff game, although Golden Eagle in Upland CA, for some reason, has good reviews. Perhaps the people are very rich and do not ask questions on how the operation works, but my experience was rude, dishonest, inefficient (couldn't even get my email correct). I felt at certain points, the information was purposely vague as to make one think that weight mattered, that your stuff would actually be weighed to make sure that was what you were paying for. No. This is particularly upsetting because I got rid of a lot of stuff that I loved because it was heavy. I ended up just putting the rest of my stuff in storage and will return to California to retrieve it later, but I gave away a great deal of my stuff thinking that it would save money, like I said, because it was on the heavier side. In my view, complete lack of integrity and a huge unethical money grab. It's a shady business. read more

On the plus side, the movers and packers arrived on time, worked hard and were very personable. There were multiple issues with my packing/moving experience. Hopefully some of these will help others in working with this company. The price for this move was much higher than other company quotes. I pad 3,342 dollars for a local move of a 3 BR home. Since I wanted an easy and painless move, I decided it would be worth it to pay so much more than other companies. The move ended up not being easy or painless. These were the issues: 1. Poor communication between the estimator and the billing team. My estimator was Chris Scott. Estimate was for packing of 103 boxes. I was told on multiple occasions by estimator and by Caroline Vela in the office via email that if I packed more myself, I would pay less. I spent a lot of time packing which is difficult as a single mom working full time. In the end, packers only did 67 boxes. However since the movers took longer than expected, I ended up paying the full price of the total estimate for packing/moving. 2. Careless packing/moving. On the packing/moving day, there were multiple items which were damaged. This could have been prevented by wrapping furniture in blankets and padding. Freezer dented, trash can dented and wooden shelving unit was badly chipped. Baseboards on the house were chipped. Electronic items such as laptop computers and DVD burners were put in boxes without any padding. The moving team did bring cardboard to lay on the carpet and flooring when they moved things in, but the cardboard was pretty dirty. There was hardware leftover after the beds have been assembled. Not all screws were used in putting the beds back together. 3. Incomplete unloading. There were three boxes which were not unloaded from the truck. I called the Monday after my move and they were able to locate them in the truck which was being used for another move that day. The truck did come back to unload them at their convenience. 4. Poor communication between the movers and the office staff. I was told by the moving team that they would come back to pick up the wardrobe boxes at no charge and that I just needed to call and set up a time for pick up. They charged a deposit for the wardrobe boxes. When I called the office to set up a pick-up time, Caroline told me that there was a charge for this. I let her know that this is not what I agreed to with the movers. She then said she would have the movers come back "if they were in the area". I asked to speak with a manager, Josh, who did agree to have the movers come pick up the boxes. 5. Further poor communication between the movers and the office staff. I was also told by the moving team that I could get a 30%credit for the boxes returned to them. However, the manager Josh, would not honor this. I found out he would not honor this after the boxes had already been picked up. Wish I would have donated them to another family who was moving. 6. Paperwork was mishandled. The movers forgot to have me sign paperwork before the move, they asked me to sign it after the move. I was not provided a copy of the paperwork I signed on moving day. The team who picked up boxes forgot to take a copy of the paperwork with them back to the office and left all the carbon copies on my mailbox. read more

They called before and on the same day to make sure I know when they would arrive. I had a lot boxes and furnitures. They managed to load everything within 2 hours. And, when they come and deliver my stuff. The movers arranged boxes in the living room nicely and helped me setup the bed, coffee table, TV and etc. And the final moving cost came lower than their estimate. Chris was prompt in providing the estimate, Caroline always answered all our questions immediately and with good humor, and Andre (driver) and his two crews (one on the West Coast and one on the East) were careful but also fast workers. Both our pickup and delivery had to be handled using a shuttle truck, and that also went smoothly. Golden Eagle also handled our vehicle transport; our car was picked up on Tuesday and arrived across the country on Sunday.
