I wanted to update my review as I saw someone rated this office poorly over tightening screws on their frames. FYI - they could be liable for damage to the frames. Of course, it makes sense that they wouldn't do it. Just like I can't bring a Banana Republic blouse to Nordstrom for tailoring. They are appointment only and it's SUPER easy to use their online tool to make an appt. ANYWHOO.... Dr. Julie is the bomb dot com. This office is probably one of the best full-service Optometrist offices I've been to in a long time. She's so gentle and kind that my kids look forward to seeing her. We suspected that our 3yo might need glasses and Dr. Julie took a minute to assess her and validated our concerns. She didn't have to as my daughter wasn't scheduled. She just tagged along because she LOVES seeing Dr. Julie. One thing that's kept us coming back is that they never pressure us or mandate a plan. I'm due for new glasses and yes, I could get new frames. BUT, I have a giant head and it's hard to find a good fit. I got these frames a couple of years ago from this office. The poor guy went through the wringer trying to find the best fit. Before this pair, I wore my glasses for maybe a total of 2 weeks out of the year. Since this pair, I'm a good 50/50 because they're so comfortable. Angela could vibe that my eyes were wandering. She totally understood that I wanted to check out my options. She said she didn't want me to have any regrets (I do spend a lot of time thinking about what if). She too went through ALL the cabinets and drawers. She gave honest feedback on fit. There was zero pressure which made the process honest. In the past, I've definitely gone home with glasses that I hated and it was the worst. I ultimately went forward with just replacing my lenses. I love that both she and Dr. Julie mapped out the next steps with many options. I'm navigating this NEW stage of my life (bifocals, readers, different glasses for different things) and it's a little daunting. If one didn't work out, we had a backup plan. Thank you, Dr. Ngo for my beautiful new blue light filter glasses! As a teacher, I'm now looking at a computer screen 8-10 hours a day for distance learning + lesson planning. My eyes are also sensitive where prolonged irritation can cause a migraine. Not a fun combination, so I decided to ask around about blue light glasses. I was a little skeptical so I first asked, "Do they work?" Dr. Ngo was so helpful and basically told me that it's best to get premium anti-reflective lenses with a blue light blocker. They can help to reduce eye strain, reduce headache, and helps with circadian rhythm. Three good reasons to invest in a pair! I first looked at their website to look at their selection of frames. Dr. Ngo went above and beyond to let me know which ones were Asian fit. That was helpful because if I didn't see any I like, that would save me a trip. But they have a wide variety of frames at good prices! I got no Rx so I could wear them over my contacts and they were made in a day. I have recently moved into the Henderson neighborhood and was looking to find a new optometrist. My new glasses have had a problem staying tightened on the arms, and to anyone who wears glasses regularly, you know the problem. I came to golden eyes looking to get the screw quickly tightened, as well as to find a new optometrist for my family. They didn't invite me inside (it was 101 degrees) and said that they needed $10 to tighten the arm. My decrepit grandmother could've tightened the screw in about 4 seconds, but golden eyes insisted on charging me $10 still. To me its the equivalent of a coffee shop not letting a local use the restroom, and its lazy business. A lazy employee too, and not very kind even before he knew why I was there. The place also, from outside, had a noticeable and peculiar odor, but it could've just been the man I was talking to. Regardless, Steven E. Grant Optomotry across the street offered to tighten them for free, and were beyond helpful. If you're in the area looking for an optometrist, their selection of glasses were great and the staff was funny and inviting, honestly the complete opposite of golden eyes. They sure got the name right though, they care more about money than building a customer base... and perhaps with all the money they can consider investing in some febreeze. Golden Eyes owner response: "I'm sorry you feel so self entitled. On the door, it states that we are by appointment only. We do not service any glasses for free that is not purchased at our store. It was probably your own perspiration that you were smelling. Our office is kept clean and well managed. Good luck elsewhere!" Hi Chris, no need to apologize. It amazes me that someone with an educational background like yours and such a successful business would call a potential customer 'self entitled' for asking to get a screw tightened. It really says something about how stingy you are as a business owner. Looking past your pathetic comment, I'll give you a tip about how to better your business for the future. I came to your business before any other optometrist in town because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews, and as a healthcare professional I expected more care on your part. I had not only wanted to tighten my glasses, but also was looking to find a new optometrist for my family. How do you expect to obtain new customers when you don't let them inside of your shop, nor offer 30 seconds of your time to help a potential customer with their livelihood (useable glasses)? You lost (and will continue to lose out) on the opportunity of 5 customers a year at say 150$, and over the course of 5 years, will say goodbye to $3,750 of potential clientele, which will be taken to https://www.seeme2c.com. Follow-Up to Dr. Campana's 11/22/21 response- This 45 minute time limit rule was not communicated to me during my visit. So if this disrupted the attention needed for other patients, then I should have been informed earlier than the hour and forty minute mark and then I would not have stayed so long and been an inconvenience to your practice. In my past visits to a more busy office, the choosing of glasses after the exam was never rushed or met with any limits. It was mentioned when I was trying on one pair that it could be adjusted to lower the frame, but only for that particular pair and not for the other pairs that I noticed were inadequate due to this factor. If I knew that many other pairs could have been adjusted, I would have decided on something a lot sooner. I should have read up more on the Hoya lenses on your website prior to the appointment. But websites are often inaccurate leading people to rely more on the in-person presenting of options.  The quality of information should be just as good offline as it is online. Finally, I am not after the "perfect" pair of glasses, only one that will fit and conform to my eye area and brow. Regardless of where I am able to buy glasses, good communication on the part of the optician will help put a decision to action, and minimize the related time that is needed to make it read more

I tried out Golden Eyes Optometry after looking up Yelp reviews. I definitely recommend them! It was my first eye exam after 14 years of never going to get my eyes checked. I had a full evaluation and Dr. Ngo answered all my questions. Dr. Campaña answered all my questions as I was getting glasses fitted. I've never had to wear glasses before but they eased my nerves in picking out a pair and recommended what to use. I'm very happy with my new glasses. I found Golden Eyes Optometry during the pandemic and based on my vision insurance, reviews and that I could get an appointment in a timely manner (other places I called were booking months out!). Since that first appointment, I have been a regular customer. I just went in yesterday for my annual exam and glasses and to address some concerns with my vision. As usual, I was given a warm welcome by the staff and greeting by name. Their office is very neat, clean and tastefully decorated. Since I had my cataracts out in Nov 2021, my vision has gone downhill and I have glare in low light situations. Two weeks ago I had the second YAG procedure, post removal. This time on my left eye. The specialist informed me that nothing can be done at this time with the glare issue and referred me back to Dr. Ngo. After a battery of tests I saw Dr. Ngo and explained my concerns. She welcomed me back to the clinic and proceeded to give me a thorough exam. While my new prescription is stronger, it was not as high as either of of us thought it would be. She also informed me that there was a newer lens filter which might help me with the glare. After the exam, she had some time and we went over my frame choices and she helped me choose a frame that looked good for my face shape and fair skin. From there I sat down with Dr. Campana to try the filter. Alas, it did not help enough to warrant adding it to my new glasses. From there we went over options and packages and the financial costs. I love that they have never tried to upsell me into buying something I do not need. I also like that I have never felt 'rushed' through my appointment. Welcoming staff and appreciated the precautions the business provided during this pandemic. I liked the text reminder for my yearly check-up and the convenience of making an appointment on line! THANK YOU! Sometimes I remember things after hours and that was helpful and extremely easy. The office was clean, organized and offered a variety of high end selections. I mean if you're going to wear glasses all day, better wear the best! My husband chose Mont Blanc square frames and I chose Salvatore Ferragamo cat eye frames. My daughter chose a blue cheetah print MarchonNYC frames. FYI the glasses are locked to prevent everyone to just pick up and try on which was fine with us it was good learning lesson for my daughter that everyone's hands have germs and the staff would have to sanitized everything someone touches. On top of fashion, we felt Dr. Campana provided quality customer service matching the products they provide. He was very professional and did a comprehensive exam on all of us. My husband is now a progressive wearer and we learned to be mindful of his eye health because his eye pressure is a little high his family has a history of glaucoma. My Rx is super bad I'm basically blind so when I think of my lenses I know it's going to be thick but I found out this place offers some super hi index lenses where I can get my lenses THINNER than other offices! I've seen a lot of optometrists, having had contacts for the past 20 years, so I'd say it's pretty hard for one to blow the others out of the water - but I have to say Dr. Julie Ngo is truly as good as it gets!! I'm visiting LV and decided to drop in because my contacts were bothering me. I was worried about going without an appointment, but was actually attended to by both Dr. Ngo and Dr. Chris Campana! They were both incredibly friendly and their demeanor struck a balance between friendly and professional; I was able to connect with them easily as they were around my age, smiled often, and always made me feel at ease. Dr. Ngo did my exam and told me exactly what was going to happen before it did (the farmhouse is going to be blurry, blink now, then keep your eyes open, the versions might look similar, etc.) so I never had questions. She was able to take my full prescription without even being dilated! My eyes were, I think, harder to fit than most because I had some asigmatism, which I always wondered if it was a bad thing and no past optometrist has been able to explain satisfactorily in the past. Dr. Ngo explained it plainly and simply - just like some people have rounder feet than others, some eyes are rounder or more elongated and it's just another measure of the shape of the eye. Now I can stop thinking I have a special condition! Also, another thing she did that I had never seen in my previous optometrists was she had fitted lens to my eyes and had me walk outside to Walmart and compare prescriptions while looking to the distance. That really helped me to decipher which prescription fit me better when the difference between the two best ones was so fine! In addition, she did something also totally neat - she took pictures of my cornea and retina and walked me through what each thing was (optical nerve, blood vessels and how there's no sign of glaucoma, etc.) Very cool to see your own eye! I appreciated how well she explained each item and she clearly knew her eye biology. Finally, she examined me thoroughly regarding the issue I came in for and asked a lot of questions. She and Dr. Campana both gave me tips about how to clean my eye and contacts to prevent cloudiness. Dr. Ngo took care of all my worries and I feel that she got a more accurate prescription than I've gotten in the past. I can't believe how well this walk-in turned out, and only wish I lived in the area to see her and Dr. Campana in the future! read more

My experience at Golden Eyes Optometry went smoothly. First off everyone wore mask and gloves which made it safe during this pandemic. Doctors and staff were very friendly and made me comfortable at my time there. Tiffany help answer some of my question about the application. Dr. Chin performed my examination. I was a little apprehensive about bring my grandmother here after my initial visit but thought I would give it a chance since there was a new Dr. I sure am glad I did! I've been going to optometrists for about 25 years. This is the best experience I have ever had. Simple, courteous, efficient. They only do exams which is a win for me since they aren't concerned with up-selling lenses and frames et al. I was concerned about their proximity to Wal-Mart, but it was just great (they have a door outside so you aren't required to pass through the hell that is Wally World). I paid 150 for my exam, which included my elected addition of digital exam. The digital exam didn't require eye drops for dilation which is great! For me, well worth the investment. Got 10 days worth of lenses included along with some polyethylene glycol eye drops.. not sure I will be using the drops however. Clean office! I've been getting my eyes checked since their clinic was at Walmart. I was happy I found their new location since I feel very comfortable with Dr. Ngo. She's very attending and explains what's going on with your eye every visit not just hand you a prescription and go about their day like other doctors. I love how she explains it and even try to visualize it with the monitor they have (pretty cool!). Main thing why I love her! Their new clinic is so clean and nice but that's just a plus compared to how nice and accommodating the Doctors and staffs are! ;) read more

In all my 63 years of life I have never been treated as poorly as I've been treated at Golden Eyes. During my appointment, although the doctor was thorough, he found that I needed a referral because of cataracts. He referred me to a business and I made the proper appointment for the exam needed for this problem. The day before the appointment the doctor I was referred to called me stating they did not accept my insurance. When I spoke with Golden Eyes about this issue they said it was up to me to find a doctor who would accept my insurance and that was not their responsibility. If it's outside their responsibility or the scope of their job why in the world would they write a referral for me to someone I cannot see? They answered that it was not their responsibility. I cannot refer myself to a doctor of my choosing. They also said they did not have my insurance and did not have time to make an appropriate referral. Unbelievable!! They copied my card and do indeed have my insurance. It's an extremely poor business response to tell someone that it's their own responsibility to locate their own physicians when being referred by a doctor for additional work because I don't have the authority to schedule appointments with eye doctors outside of the scope of my insurance and they should have never referred me to a doctor who is also outside the scope of my insurance. Without even offering to assist they simply told me to make my own appt based on their referral. If you wish to see an office which does not care a plug nickle about your eye health then Golden Eyes is just the right business for you! I wouldn't take my dog there for treatment. read more
