The optical dept has always been so helpful but today Jolene was horrible. Extremely rude and unhelpful. Skipped my number then gave attitude when I stated i was 1st, seemed annoyed to help and when I stated my glasses were blurry her reply was "they are fine" then a answered rhe phone while helping me and ignored me. ZERO customer service. If Jolene is there avoid her. I then spoke to a manager Eric who was very kind and sent me to Ryan in the optical and he was a pleasure and so helpful. I have never been treated like the way Jolene treated me as a customer. She is not an asset to Costco and should find a job that makes her happy read more

This review is of Trevor Kasden, of Sunset Vision which operates out of the Costco location on Marks Street in Henderson, NV, not of the Optical Services department at Costco. I arrived early for my appointment to allow time for the completion of any paperwork needed prior to my eye exam. My appointment time came and went. I asked when I would be seen and at that time I was taken back into the office to have my measurements etc and retina photographed, only to be sent back outside to wait. After more than 30 minutes past my appointment time, I again asked when I would be next in two minutes. I then saw someone else taken into the office. I went back into the office and pointed out that my appointment was now approximately 40 minutes late and that having been told I was next, I saw someone else taken in ahead of me. It was not a mistake on my part, I believe that I was intentionally misinformed. (I am being polite here). I asked how long they would have allowed me to be late and they said 15 minutes, I pointed out that I had been kept waiting for over 40 minutes and I was told that they were running behind. I could not have worked that out myself? No one gave me a heads-up about the delays until my time had already been wasted. I was not happy when the receptionist said, 'I'm sorry, what do you want me to say?" I was seated in an examination room and told that Dr would be with me in a couple of minutes, when I asked how long really, I was told 5 to 10 minutes. Eventually, Dr graced me with his presence, offered no comment about his delay or disrespect and took me through the test that I felt was rushed . He never mentioned the retinal images and we discussed my sore lower eyelid, he told me that it was one of the worst he had ever seen and that I would need a referral to a specialist and might need surgery. By this time I was very much regretting attending this "service provider". I was given a referral and left, I was appalled at the lack of service provided, the disrespect for my time wasted, and being intentionally misinformed. I did not believe that a referral was necessary and went home. I applied Vaseline to my sore lower eyelid and the next morning it was about 50% improved, today, two days after my eye exam, and applying only Vaseline, my eyelid is approximately 75% healed, causing no discomfort. Needless to say, I will not be making a specialist appointment or having surgery. If the services of Sunset Vision's Trevor Kasden and his front office staff were free I would not use them. read more

My son and I received very professional vision service when my son and I were looking to purchase some new eyeglasses. The staff personnel was courteous and friendly. She helped us in selecting a pair of glasses and provided me with an estimated date of when we would receive them. She also made sure to explain to us the process of choosing some sunglasses and the tints that were available. We received excellent care and felt cared for. I recommend coming to the Costco on Henderson (St. Rose). read more

Wow what happened? Costco used to have a great dr. But now they have some girl who is rude and not very helpful. She asked what kind of contact do I want. If I knew that what would I need you for? I told her what I was trying to achieve and she said fine. Then you need far away. She gave me the test but pushed my answers, like "Number 5 is clearer right? She seemed like she couldn't wait to get rid of me and on to the next person like she has a quota to fill. She asked what brand of contacts did I want I said I am not sure so she leaves the room and comes back with contacts and says put these in your eyes. So I did but then I couldn't see my phone or even my watch to see what time it was. When I commented on how I couldn't read my watch she got very upset with me and kind of scolded me and said I asked you what you wanted when you came in and you said to see far away. I am thinking, but didn't I really? I could go on more but I think you get the point. I asked when I left and they do still have the gentleman that I remember working there I just didn't know to ask for him. I am going to call them and see if I can get my appointment again but with the guy. So let this be a warning to everyone to ask who you are scheduling an appointment with. read more

I have to update my review on Sunset Vision and Dr. Kasden inside Costco. I couldn't figure out why I was having trouble with seeing the TV. I finally decided go back and have it looked at. Turns out the prescription was wrong. So I don't recommend Dr. Kasden at all. How can it be wrong? See Dr. Griffith in the same office - he fixed my prescription and Costco re-did my glasses for free. Since this is a review for Costco Optical, I'll keep the same rating - just wanted to fix my comments about Dr. Kasden - AVOID! read more

I am a faithful Costco customer. However, the company is now using poor quality eyeglass lens material. I purchased two pair of glasses and both have lens with a yellow tint. I visited the eyeglass department and was informed the lens were there "clear" lens and I must have terrific vision to see the tint, as they had not received any complaints. I'm now stuck with an inferior product. I will continue to purchase eyeglass frames from Costco, but buyer beware when purchasing lens, as they are of poor quality. read more

Coming here FIRST in the optical department from now on when I want to purchase prescription glasses. WHY? It a hella lot cheaper especially the for rX lenses that's why. In my case, I paid $150 LESS for Progressive HD lens. Treatments like AR are included in package unlike LensCrafters they charge additional $ for other treatments for your glasses. They now accept most vision care plans. So your out of pocket expense here is not much at all, compared to LC I paid hell lot more! They have designer frames for pretty affordable prices too. The Tiffany frames here average $100 less than LC. The selection is limited but they do have some of the best traditional or trendy frames represented. My fave were the Valentino ones. Service was great. The techs are pretty skilled and did accurate measurements. They were pretty attentive and didnt feel rushed despite how busy they were. My wait time was about 20 minutes I think, but didnt feel that long since I made use of that time to try on glasses on my own, The optical department is right in front, as you walk in through front entrance. Make sure you you grab a ticket first by cash register and wait for your number to be called. Don't forget to bring your medical info to see if you are covered...but even without insurance, the frames and lens will still be even cheaper than what you would pay over at LC with insurance! Crazy! Bring your patience though cause you'll have to to put up with the aggressive drivers in parking lot and grouchy customers. Lovely personality traits right there. read more

I had a contact lenses exam with the Eye Doctor. The temporary contact lense in the left eye folded and got stuck on the side of my eye. I stopped by to have the doctor take a look at the situation. For a office visit while waiting for my permanent lenses, her assistant said because I was a walk-in that I would be changed. Costco needs to go back to taking customer service seriously again. They have proven to be worse than Sam's Club. read more

Dr. Trevor Kasden is the Optometrist here at Costco, that my wife has been seeing for 5 years or so now. She has had no issues getting getting appt. or her questions answered when she calls. That is why she keeps coming back. His exams are extensive & he spends quite a bit of time with her, (and from what I can tell.. All patients), to make sure everything eye wise is checked, and concerns addressed. Over all we are very happy the the service & care we receive here. read more

First went to a "Groupon" deal at Pearl Vision. Waste of time and money! Decided to try Sunset Vision inside the Henderson Costco. They are wonderful! The front office and prep personnel are friendly, patient and AWESOME! And, what can I say about the Doctor of Optometry? (was it Dr. Kasden?) He was professional and he listened (and responded appropriately) to my concerns. What a world of difference from the "doctor" at Pearl Vision! Sunset Vision (inside the Henderson Costco) is well worth the $89. I'll go back again next year. read more

I always get excellent service from the Optical department. The staff are all very nice & helpful. Aaron is an excellent optician, I try to wait for him since he already knows my vision idiosyncrasies due to my terrible eyesight, although all of the staff members are knowledgeable & helpful. I like their excellent bundled prices for eyeglasses, very very reasonable. I used to always go to private optical places for many many years & had paid so much more for same glasses until one day I discovered the Costco optical. I am so grateful for them. read more

Complete idiots work here period! They call saying my contacts are in... when I go down there to pick them up, they tell me I need to make a follow up appointment before I can get them! I asked them, why didn't you tell me that when you called? Why would you call to tell me my contacts are in? Like I said "dumb and dumber" work here... fkn clueless customer service... you can keep my checkup $$ never going back there, private optometrist with professional staff is what I need, Not Costco Crap-tometrist!!! I didn't use the Costco Optometry department but did visit the Sunset Vision office (their doctor's office) for my vision test as well as the family. Without an appointment on a Saturday afternoon it was about a forty minute wait while a Sunday morning appointment had me in and out in 30 minutes. Everyone was polite and professional and the process was simple for a moderate price. Waiting for the Costco Optometry services was actually a longer wait! Definitely recommended. read more

Dr. Robert Griffith and staff are warm, friendly and extremely professional. I had vision changes in July and being new to the area didn't have an optometrist. I was seen at Costco and Dr. Griffith diagnosed a Retinal Tear. They called the Retinal Surgeon's Office and I was seen the next day. After my eye healed from the surgery I went back for my eye glass prescription and contact lens fitting. My vision is the clearest and sharpest it has been in years. My husband was so impressed by the care I received he also had his eye exam here. We both strongly recommend Dr. Griffith for his diagnostic abilities, contact lens fitting, and eye glass prescription services. read more

Needed new glasses. My insurance isn't covered here BUT they did it cheaper than with my insurance. All the UV anti scratch anti glare all included. No extra charges and frames were a good price and they have designer frames as well for &130.00. $135.00 for bifocals with all the bells and whistles. Worth getting a year membership for me. Pedro did everything I needed to show my insurance so I could get the $200.00 out of network money back. Yes your insurance pays for out of network eye care. read more

This is by far the best place to get glasses! I drive an hour just to go here. You can't beat the prices even if you don't have vision ins. The staff goes above and beyond to help you, shout out to Sherry and Karen who made my experience even better than the last. So here's what happened We used Costco optical last year and wanted to return. We live an hour away from Costco so I drove myself and kids last week to get glasses, we picked out frames waited our turn in line and got to the counter. Sherry was there to help... When it came time to put the insurance info in the system our insurance companies website was down it was Saturday evening so they couldn't call the ins. Co. Which means she couldn't submit the claim, she suggested we return another day. After explaining we lived so far she was determined to find a solution ... she took our order got the ok from a manager to do a COD and said her manager Karen would try and run the insurance the next day without having us return. Next day I get a call from Karen she was able to submit the order ... I paid over the phone and she even applied a back to school coupon. This was on a Sunday ... the glasses were ready to pick up Wednesday. Fastest turn around I had ever seen!!! If you need glasses this is your place!!! read more

Prior to my arrival at the Costco optometrist, I had torn my contact lens.... Fortunately they could get me in for a same day appointment which is always nice. Now, being that we are a society that sits much of the day, I prefer to stand whenever I have the option. With that being said when the receptionist asked me to "sit" and fill out the doctor's paperwork (which wasn't much mind you) I said, "do you mind if I stand?" She then proceeded to tell me a story that they are a very busy office with patients in and out and the waiting room was far to small for me to stand so therefore I must sit....as she's explaining this nonsense to me, I look around and say "my dear, but NO ONE is here!" She then says, "well you can stand outside" I was totally insulted. The remainder of my experience at this office was quite pleasant, but with a shitty receptionist, this office will not be getting my return business. There's a Costco optometrist just on the other side of town. read more
