These 5 star reviews are no lie. I've dealt with a lot of body shops in my lifetime and GGC is by far the best. I took my car in exactly one year ago to have the back bumper cover replaced and some work done on the front bumper and hood. Harry was super detail oriented and concerned about doing the best job possible (matching the paint, getting out other dents and scratches, etc.) You would think he was going to be the one driving around in this car! My little baby looked like new when I picked her up. But even more impressive than their work is their customer service. Harry kept me updated almost daily on the status of the work, and even did some extra research to try and find the best solutions. Fast forward to about 3 months ago, I had a minor fender bender that left my front license plate hanging by one screw and scratched and dented the front bumper. I drove straight to GGC to get an estimate for repairs. Harry took one look and said, "We can just take care of this right now. Once you've been a Golden Gate Collision customer, you're family." They fixed my girl up in about 15 minutes with a hair dryer, some screws and a new license plate holder. No charge! They were so nice, I could have cried. Today the car wash ripped off my back license plate, the exact same injury from exactly one year ago. My Mercedes trunk lid got crunched so I took my car into Golden Gate Collision for an estimate. Manu greeted me. He took some pictures and told me he would send me an estimate. Later that day, Manu emailed me stating the cost of the estimate would be much greater than replacing the trunk lid. He had researched Mercedes salvage yards and found a perfect match for me for $149. I went and picked up the trunk lid, installed it and it is perfect. Manu went out of his way to do the research for me and ended up saving me hundreds of dollars. I am really impressed with these guys. For all the previous Yelp reviewers who said how great the customer service is at Golden Gate Collision, they weren't exaggerating. I experienced the same thing on Wednesday. Someone sideswiped the front left corner of my car while it was parked on the street. (Of course they didn't leave a note.) I went to Yelp to look for the highest-rated auto body shop in the Bay Area. Since GGC came up in the Top 5 and they were nearby, I decided to drop in (no appointment) to get an estimate. Harry greeted me and took a look at the damage. Since the damage wasn't too bad (no dent), he offered to work on it right then and there, so that I didn't have to come back another day. He buffed it out, did his magic, and it looked so much better than when I came in. He charged me a fair price, and I was on my way. He also gave me some tips on how to touch up the paint to make it look even better. In general, I can tell he's an honest guy, who wasn't trying to maximize his profits by doing the whole insurance thing. If I were in need of an auto body shop, which I'm hoping I won't (knock on wood), I would definitely bring my car to GGC! read more

This is hands down the best body shop around. Harry will take care of you. I am one who gets emotionally tied to a truck. So back in September when someone hit my Tacoma causing front end damage I took it to him to get assessed. Well when the at fault drivers insurance wanted to total my truck. He worked with my insurance so they could repair it and not have to lose my beloved truck! He understands some people get emotionally tied to a car. Which he then prevented a nightmare from occurring. Repairs took about 10 days which was fine by me. When they did the spraying of paint he asked how I wanted it, Since my hood was black color. So, my car was parked when it was hit by a fraudulent zip car driver. He abandoned the car at some point and therefore, I suffered the inconvenience of not having a car while the insurance company conducted their investigation. Timing couldn't be worse for not having a car since my family was moving and my daughter was starting a new school. And since the accident was not my fault, my insurance company said they couldn't help and I had to wait until the investigation was over. But Harry with his infinite wisdom and experience in this industry came to my rescue. He truly was my only advocate and continued to ping the insurance adjuster via phone and email, and kept a log of his attempts and even escalated the claim to the adjuster's supervisor until finally a reply and action! As soon as we had a settlement, Harry went to work finding the most cost effective way to fix my car and bring her back to life after being totaled. He even went above & beyond my expectations and fixed misc items that weren't even involved in the accident! because it was "easy." What a guy I tell ya! A couple of weeks ago my car got rear-ended and there was damage to the bumper and the air bag went off as well so I needed that replaced. Of course, I turned to Yelp to look for a good, reliable place to get my car fixed and came across Golden Gate Collision. I did compare and call a few places before coming across Golden Gate Collision but most were pretty rude on the phone or didn't have time for making an estimate any time in the near future. However, here they were very accommodating and willing to have me drop in that very day. The estimate process consisted of going over the damages and taking pictures but the entire time they simplified things and explained in a way that I could fully understand. I was overall very impressed by their knowledge and customer service and thus, decided to go ahead with the repair here. I just got my car back a couple of days ago and I can truly say that I am 100% satisfied with the quality of work that was done to my vehicle. They paid very close attention to detail and my car looks as good as new! They even went above and beyond and printed out a list of parts of my vehicle that were recalled so that I could have those replaced! They also fixed a poor, sloppy spot paint job that the dealer had done after damaging my car while doing a routine service. Did I mention that they also had my car washed when I went to pick it up? Overall, my experience at Golden Gate Collision proved that they deserve more than just 5 stars. I recently had two of my vehicles hit while it was parked. Both vehicles had extensive damages and were non drivable. I called and spoke to the owner, Harry. He listened and took care of everything. He sent two flat bed tow trucks to pick up both vehicles. He was in constant contact with me throughout the entire process, including the other parties insurance carrier. Harry even picked me up himself from BART so I can pick up one of my cars. Each time when I picked up one of my vehicles, it looked better than it went it. When I was rear-ended on the highway my insurance carrier initially sent me to one of their recommended repair shops. I went there and didn't like the place so I asked an insurance claims adjuster family friend for a body shop recommendation. Without hesitation (or secondary recommendations) he told me take my car to Golden Gate Collision. Very good decision!! From the first phone call, visiting the shop, written estimate, etc. everything wreaked of professionalism, attention to detail, quality customer service and superior workmanship. Harry handled everything from the start, including dealing with my insurance adjuster and rental car needs. He also emailed a very detailed write up of the damage and repair estimates. My car got slapped in the butt pretty hard and there was some significant damage. Harry and his crew repaired and painted my car flawlessly! There was a creaky (and very annoying) metal sound in the pillar near my ear. I initially thought I could live with it but realized there was no way I could do that. I took it back to them, though it was a mystery creakiness that was hard to find, Harry just kept saying "we'll find it" and eventually they did. All while providing me with a car to drive and showing that customer satisfaction does matter to them! I drive a '78 VW Westfalia. It's not a 911R, but it's a great example with no rust, pretty good paint and lots of mechanical work done over the past 3 years. I'll spare you the sob story, but it was vandalized at Martin's Beach a few weeks ago. In addition to the windshield being broken, they put several good-sized scratches, scrapes and dents in the nose panel. I also had some primer showing through in a couple other spots and a rear corner that needed to be pulled and painted. This Westy is my baby and I was paying cash, so I visited 5 shops all over the East Bay for estimates. D&M wasn't quite the lowest but they were a very close second and offered and impressive 5 day turnaround. And after meeting founding owner Bob Manini and seeing the other gorgeous projects in his immaculate shop, it was easy to make the call. I must say, there was one slight issue when I went to pick up my bus a week later. When buffing out one of the newly-painted panels, the painter had accidentally polished the adjacent, original paint so that the match was now off. After pointing this out to Linda, Bob called me personally to offer to fix things by laying fresh paint on that panel to match. After just another couple days for that fix to cure, my bus was back. The front damage was entirely gone, the other panels that were an even tougher match with my faded paint looked indistinguishable, and they even fixed another dent and repainted my engine cover lid, which was not part of the original estimate. In short, D&M does fantastic work on schedule at fair prices. Together with their excellent customer service, this is a one-of-a-kind, throwback shop. My highest recommendation. read more

In my mind, "body shop" evokes two thoughts: super modified cars or car accidents. Unfortunately, we came to D&M Auto Body for the latter. My wife and I got into a pretty bad accident on the freeway after being sandwiched between two cars. "They lived." Shout out to our beautiful and safe Subaru for taking the brunt of the accident. We called our local dealership and they recommended D & M. To be honest my wife should be writing this, but I saw all the paperwork and heard enough of how great her experience was that I'm taking the reigns on this one. She worked with Harry and he constantly kept her in the loop about the progress of Scubadoo via phone and email. He and his team were quick to take photos of the damage, and send them to us along with a detailed breakdown of the associated costs. Harry was also open with us about his discussions with our insurance company and what the process would look like for the body shop and for us. Our insurance company said our car would be done in two weeks, but Harry was real with us and said 4 weeks at minimum. After seeing the photos, reading the awesome Yelp reviews, and trusting his expertise knew we would be without a car for 4+ weeks. Well, exactly 4 weeks to the day we brought Scubie into D & M, Harry called my wife to tell her they were done. Talk about fast!! Their team is amazing, quick, openly communicates, and does a bang up job. I wish no one else to get in a car accident, but it you do and you need major body work done, these are the only guys you should go to! We came here, finally, after our 1987 Honda CRX had been dealt the indignity of a third ding. We had lived with a broken tail light and a scratched-up bumper for several years, but after someone left a dent in our driver's-side door we decided to finally put an end to our procrastination and head out into the frightening world of auto body repair. Had we known how wonderful the service was going to be at D&M Auto Body, we would have gotten everything fixed years ago! After one stop at D&M Auto Body we knew we were in good hands. Here's the long and the short of it: They were unbelievably kind and accommodating when we went for the estimate. First of all, the estimate was quite a bit lower than what we had expected going in. Secondly, there was a smaller dent that we didn't want to pay for at the time. When we asked them not to include it in the estimate, they said no problem. They recommended we do it, but did not push it at all. THEN(!), when we went to pick up the car ... They charged us less than what was stated on the estimate.... BUT THEY DID EVEN MORE! They had fixed the smaller dent, despite not charging us for it! All this in addition to the fantastic detailing job they did on the car. I swear, the whole car looked as new -- inside and out -- as it must have rolling off the Honda lot in 1987. We were astounded! We were almost afraid to touch our car: It looked so close to mint condition! Overall, amazing (and incredibly friendly) service, amazing repair, and low price!
