Even though I was tired of eating 23,000 Calorie meals by the time we got to the Golden Harvest, I couldn't resist ordering the breakfast called the "Big Farm Boy." It still makes me giggle. Anyway, it's good breakfast food. They have hippie alternatives, too, like tofu sausage. I never could get into the fake meat scene. I love tofu, but just not when it's pretending to be something else. But I didn't try the tofu here, so that's just a little side note about me, not the restaurant. Both if our egg Benedict dishes were lukewarm, as well as the country potatoes. the small bench I sat in was so old & uncomfortable with uneven springs and splits in the vinyl. the flavors would have been good if it had been hot, but you can tell they make the food in advance, have it in warming pans & then assemble & deliver to table. read more

Waited 10mins for a table only to wait over a hour for our food. Finally when we got our food we were informed they were out of biscuits and strawberries. Typical breakfast fair, but a bit pricey. We were driving between Humboldt Redwoods State Park and Lassen Volcanic National Park - so we were in between campgrounds looking for good diner food. It was filling. The menu has many options - too many in fact. I'd hate to be a server/cook there. We had a server in training and she was very nice, but her supervisor sucked! She actually sent customers away because their RV took up 3 spaces - it was absurd. But I enjoyed my Cajun Omelet, but I wish I had gone with pancakes rather than biscuits - they were just so-so. My semi-vegetarian wife had no problem finding some options, although her avocado was kind of brown - not sure why they didn't cut it off. The place definitely had a lazy atmosphere to it. (Although I enjoyed that they just left the coffee carafe on the table - bonus for that!) Atmosphere is very so-so, food is decent traditional breakfast. read more

While in Eureka, Brunch at Golden Harvest Cafe is a must! I called on Sunday am. to make a reservation for five. From the friendly voice on the phone to the service at the restaurant, the experience was AWESOME! Our table had the Potato Cakes, French Toast Golden Nuggets w/Strawberries and Bananas and the Classic Breakfast. Everything was fresh and really good! We can't say enough about the French Toast embedded with cornflakes. We will definitely make this our go to for Brunch while in town! read more

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise! We had stopped for the night at a nearby Best Western that offered a "free" breakfast. Other than a dish of fruit, none of the choices available were either healthy or delicious looking. From the outside the Golden Harvest Cafe doesn't look like it would offer such an amazing and creative breakfast. We were greeted at the door with a warm smile and told we could sit where we liked. Our server Muranda was friendly and helpful. I ordered the savory crepes that were filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, and tomato. When ordering fresh fruit for breakfast in most places, unripe, tasteless cantaloupe and honeydew are usually served. The Golden Harvest served a generous cup of fresh pineapple, fresh strawberries, and bananas--yummy! My husband ordered an omelette with avocado, jalapeños, and cheddar cheese. He loved that the jalapeños were fresh and not pickled. The coffee was delicious and not weak. The carafe on the table was appreciated. We definitely recommend this cafe. read more

Wow, all I have to say is everything tasted great even if it was Togo. (They do offer outside dining right now) the corn flake French toast is one of the best French toasts I've ever tasted , I'm craving some just writing this review. The texture is amazing and it holds up well if dipping in butter and syrup. We got the French toast, eggs and country potatoes, and the strawberry banana crepe with 2 mimosas for around $43. Not to bad , and everything tasted to fresh . The country potatoes did have a herb I'm not to fond off, (dill?) but they still tasted good, I'd probably opt for hash browns next time. Do yourself a favor and go a little further north, it's worth it. This place used to be better but the prices went up and the food quality went down. I won't be coming back here again. The waffle was $11 and it was just pancake batter, not a true waffle and surely not worth $11. The biscuits are dry and crumbly. Nothing special or remarkable here. The in-house made chicken sausage patty is about the only thing that I could say is something good. If I could give some constructive criticism to this place... use actual waffle batter, don't serve cold syrup, use whipped butter instead of cold butter cubes. Go the extra mile and make your own whip cream. THEN YOU CAN CHARGE $11. Turn the damn heat on, not only is it freezing in there for the customer but the the food gets cold faster. Lower your prices back down because you haven't done anything worth raising them. read more

The food is consistently good. Any issues have always been addressed by staff with feedback going immediately to the kitchen. They have fresh squeezed juices and can make a decent coffee drink. Meat-eating and veggie options are available... And they make a great fresh made biscuit... Service has always been solid... Only dowside is the Eureka location is getting a bit rundown.. They could use a deep clean to get rid of that lingering cafeteria smell... and they really need some new paint... read more

We ended up here because we needed a place to seat our 5 kids and 2 adults. The staff were so sweet and understanding with our difficult orders and substitutions. Our waitress was patient and smiled through mind changes and kids yelling drinks at her. 6 out of 7 of us are vegetarian and we were insanely surprised and delighted to see the vegetarian options on the menu. The tofu sausage was impeccable! I mean like freaking awesome. Tofu bacon omelette was outstanding and super filling. The pancakes are above average and rivaled the ones we still rave about from 10 years ago that have held the title as best pancakes ever. Lastly, they serve a local chai that my chai snob kids (who know what real chai is from visits to India) absolutely fell all over themselves over. My fiancé and I ate breakfast here a couple days for the first time and it was pretty good. He had the Chicken Fried Steak (Small Portion) and I had the California Benedict. I had a couple choices on how to make it (English Muffin or Biscuit, Hollandaise or Garlic Cream Sauce, etc). I did a half and half for the bread and stuck with the classic for the sauce (hollandaise). The muffin half was good, but the biscuit half I wasn't very fond of. It just tasted a little grainy for me. But the portion sizes for both were bigger than I expected, especially for the chicken fried steak plate. This place is a must try. Stella breakfast, fabulous service. Prices are a little high for the area, but after a decade in the Bay Area, I'm used to paying over $10 for an entree. And frankly, the quality makes up for it. Another place vegans have blown up and for why? I do not know because vegan friendly is anything but what this place is. Vegetarian friendly perhaps, but there is a huge difference between being vegetarian and vegan when dining, my friends. After asking the waitress what could be altered, there wasn't much. She was patient and informative and I give her much credit for that. Everything was pre-made so there wasn't much to choose from except oatmeal and hash browns which is sort of becoming the salads and bread of dining. Receiving our meal took a while but it was quite crowded. My boyfriend complained about the water saying it tasted like unfiltered, I ordered fresh, squeezed orange juice which I think was false advertising. The portions were large, I will give them that but everything else was unsatisfying. Oatmeal wasn't good, hash browns are hash browns, and the tofu sausage I ordered, probably the only thing really vegan, was plain and dry. Extremely overrated and a waste of money and time. I hope this helps vegans in the future from making the mistake of trusting their "vegetarian" friends or reviewers who don't know the difference between the two lifestyles. read more

I've been to the Golden Harvest my last couple of visits to Eureka. It's a typical small town kind of dinner that is good to for a late breakfast. For all you hippie veggies out there they have a well rounded menu that supports a non-carnivore diet, too. Portions are decent, but the menu is a little pricey. I guess they expect most of their patrons have a little extra cash on hand from all the farming success in this part of Cali (wink wink). My last vacation there was over the Memorial Day weekend. I ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs were poached to perfection, the hollandaise sauce was pretty good with just the right amount of lemon a creaminess. The dish was served with a side of country potatoes. I asked for them to be cooked well done and extra crispy. I think this a good test for a cook. If they can satisfy a costumers special request that's always a good sign. The potatoes were perfect. They came out exactly the way I wanted... not burned, but crunchy on the outside and still fluffy on the inside. Good job chef! I didn't get a mimosa this time, but it's nice to know the option is there for breakfast. read more

The place is amazing !! Saw some of the reviews mention higher prices, we didn't think so. Wished we lived locally this would become our favorite go to place if we did. We honestly don't have a negative thing to say except they were busy and wow we understand why.
