Lots of complaints below from average white people with no palette. The food here is delicious, but they are Latin American, so if all you want is white bread and jelly this is not your kind of place. Always funny watching the trumpers show up and talk loud shit about immigrants all the while scarfing down huevos rancheros with a vengance. I have survived off of breakfast and lunch burritos here for almost two years now. Her chip salsa is made fresh and completely unique, not another like it in the county. My latest fave is the Chile relleno. Always good. And probably the best food in Rio Dell. I'm not sure what you whiners are whining about? There's not allot of breakfast offerings in Rio Dell, but half way up on Wildwood is a great little coffee shop with breakfast and lunch served with a Mexican flair. The Mexican Mocha was divine, not too sweet and laced with cinnamon. The coffee.. good and strong, enough said. Five bucks bought a Mexican breakfast burrito of adequate size filled will eggs, beans,cheese, chorizo and potatoes... and some Pico Pica and it was mighty tasty. I actually really enjoyed my experience at this little breakfast nook. Both our drinks were phenomenal, the mexican mocha (not too sweet) and a hot chai (deliciously spiced). We had the huevos rancheros and the breakfast plate respectively. The home fried potatoes are some of the best I've had in California. Eggs were alright, pretty straight forward. I eat at Tonetta's often. Overall, I think the ladies that work there are great, and that they are serving some very decent food and coffee beverages. However, I disagree with a few other reviews. I think their portions are a little on the smaller side, but that could be because I order my food to go (maybe the to-go box has something to do with it?). Their meals do not satisfy my husband who often tries to steal my food, when I think I have just the right amount! I think I have had some great lattes there and some that could be better. In other words, their coffee varies day to day. Oh, and if you are not specific on how you like your lattes sweetened, they can be served WAY too sweet. Really glad we found Tonetta's in the middle of a long drive. We wandered in around 2:30pm and at first I wasn't sure they would have food for us, it was so quiet as was the entire town. As it turned out, our lunch was very quick and very satisfying. Two other folks came in and ordered while we were they and the one lovely lady running the place didn't bat an eye. The cafe is very pleasant and homey inside. We had iced tea (meh...), a burrito and a tamale plate. We got free chips and tasty salsa while waiting. The tamale was definitely frozen and heated in the microwave so the flavor was a little off but everything else on the plate made up for it: fresh romaine lettuce and tomato, well-seasoned and fresh rice and beans, crema and chili verde sauce. Burrito was sizable but filled with lots of rice and beans, still tasty. Both plates were like $7. When I grabbed some Tapatio from a nearby table the lady brought me out some extra homemade spicy sauce, which actually wasn't incredibly spicy, but it was a much appreciated gesture. read more

Tasted like homemade green salsa, and the eggs were done perfectly as I had ordered. Extra points for making sure the coffee cup never saw empty. Fueled up and ready for a motorcycle slalom on Highway 36. Perfect place to stop if you are in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park and need some wholesome breakfast fare. Best breakfast burrito anywhere! And for only 6.25 (6.50 for the chorizo burrito). Lety is fantastic! They love making good food here and it shows, and the coffee and espresso drinks are by far the best in Rio Dell. (And better than most in Fortuna and Eureka as well). This place is a hidden jem, if you find yourself in or near Rio Dell and feeling hungry this place is definitely worth a visit. And there's even a drive thru if you're in a hurry! Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Eureka. The lady was nice and the food was just okay. I'd probably choose another place but this was the first thing we came across while searching Yelp and not very other options since we were there very early. I had the egg croissant and I took my egg out. It was microwaved or something lol so I had the croissant with cheese and bacon and I ordered a side of potatoes that were yummy. We visited Tonetta's on a road trip and were thrilled to find such a wonderful place in (to us) the middle of nowhere. Don't be deceived by the looks of Scotia- Tonetta's has delicious Mexican food and great coffee in what looks like a English countryside cottage. Lety's - First, you get charged for each coffee refill. And we were NOT told this ahead of time. It was not printed on the menu nor the chalkboard. I complained and the extra charges were removed. Second, the tables were dirty. The whole operation seemed a little unorganized when we came in for breakfast. The sausage had a sour or vinegary taste. The eggs and potatoes were okay, but the english muffin was barely toasted and cold. I was surprised they served real butter. If you are a small business in a small town, you really should pay attention to details: greet customers when they come through the door, and not gouge your customers with overpriced coffee refills. Your coffee is not a specialty brand or blend, it's inexpensive, everyday cheap coffee. We gave you a try, and we give you a thumbs down. Good luck staying in business in Rio Dell. read more

I just got a breakfast sandwich and it had a freshly fried egg and what appeared to be a handmade sausage patty as well, not the pre frozen microwave kind. There is an espresso place down the street to the left. Go there instead. The most awkward experience I have had while dining. first, the woman charged us 4 dollars more than our actual total. our mochas weren't filled to the top, about 1/5 of the overpriced cup was missing. Then after paying and leaving, as we are sitting in the car mapping out our day, the woman working comes out to our car, accuses us of clogging the toilet, and asked us to go back in while making a "plunging the toilet" motion. It was mortifying. What's worse is neither of us used the restroom while getting food! Such a crawl out of your own skin experience. Get more professional employees...who asks their customers to clean a toilet? Besides...two coffees and a breakfast burrito being 18 dollars is ridiculous. read more

this was a great place to have breakfast! I had never been ther and have lived in rio for years! At first glance it looks like a house when you go in ot still has the feel that your sitting down at home to enjoy a family breakfast! The food was vary cheap and absolutely delicious! The service was fast and attentive (the coffee is self serve though witch is nice but not told to you at first) if you go in i recommend the biscuts and gravy!!!! My kind of place, it's not easy to find a cafe that has good espresso and $5 breakfast burritos. If I lived in Rio Dell I might eat here every morning. Their pastries are delicious and the whipped cream was real, a very rare find. Also, some really corny Telemundo version of Judge Judy was on the tv, which just added to the already awesome vibe. If this place was in the mission district of San Francisco, it would kill. read more
