Duck

We arrived a little late around 7:45pm Google said they closed at 8:30pm. Outside sign on the walls actually had a later closing time listed. We were seated promptly and picked a table by the window. We ordered fried egg rolls and pot stickers, soup dumplings, tripe, duck, combination lo mein, sizzling beef with vegetables, beef and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce. Everything was delicious. The stand out hit was definitely the duck. Super flavorful and we definitely dipped some of the other items on the table into the duck juices. The lomein was definitely a super combination with a good amount of seafood. Definitely a good variety in the lomein. Probably my second favorite item we ordered. The pot stickers were massive The soup dumplings weren't bad but didn't have as much juice I'd expect. Such a huge menu. We will definitely be coming back again and again.

We went for lunch service on a Friday. It was decently busy, but I only saw 2 handling all the tables. Because of that, a lot of the dishes were borderline cold or overcooked, which impacted the texture. For example, the soup dumplings barely had any soup and were steamed too long, making the wrapper pretty mushy. On the other hand, I enjoyed the baked pork bbq buns; however, they were served cold. I reheated the leftovers at home, and they tasted a lot better.

I always forget about this small unassuming spot, but whenever I find the time to go, I'm always reminded of how good their food is. During the day I love ordering from their dim sum menu when I want more variety. I like to take my family in the evenings and order their actual dishes. It's one of the few spots that seasons their food perfectly to our tastebuds. Their portions are also very large and meant to be shared family-style. For a group of 4 of us we were so stuffed and even left with to go boxes after ordering 3 dishes. Highly recommend their combination stir fry noodles which had both crispy and soft noodles mixed together! We also order a 1/2 duck near their closing time, but it was still so juicy and flavorful! Service is friendly, quick and pricing is very affordable.

If you're tired of waiting for the other dumpling spots in Dallas, come here! It's busy, but not too busy, so we were seated right away for lunch on a Saturday. The dim sum was good, and I really liked the stuffed bell pepper and fried taro.

My go to Dim Sum place when I'm back in town. It's your standard walk in, point the amount of fingers of seats you need, sit down, and point at the dish you want. The food is good in terms of the price ratio. Either $30-35 for 2 people or $50-60 for 3 people. I don't speak Chinese. I point. Occasionally one person might speak viet and that's good enough for me. There's a good variety. You'll get pretty much everything you find at other dim sum. Not sure why there's low reviews. It's to be expected lol

Tabletop menu. Nice ans easy.

Golden Joy BBQ Chinese restaurant is one of the best authentic Chinese places to enjoy various Asian cuisine styles, including daily dim sum lunch and dinner. Dim sum is the main attraction - for seasoned visitors, the service team almost know what you like, and present accordingly. No worries if you are new to dim sum, or new to this place. The menu is right on the table top for your visual reference. See included pic. Parking is easy, compared to some nearby similar restaurants. It is shown on the table top, with good description. See included picture. I bookmarked it, and will keep visiting.

This place is a hidden gem. I found this place a few years ago while getting my oil changed at GoodYear. I mentioned I was hungry, and of the workers recommended I go here and try the combination fried rice. Low and behold, after walking in and realizing they serve roast duck (which is so hard to find places that know how to cook this dish in Dallas) it's been my go-to order ever since. I eat here at LEAST once a month. It's that good. I've tried other items on the menu like their pot stickers, fried rice, salt and pepper fish, stuffed steam buns, marinated chicken, and roast pork that I would also recommend. Let's just say in the 3+ years that I've gone to them I haven't been disappointed.

I was still on the quest to look for the elusive good dim sum place in DFW and this place is the best I've found so far. The restaurant was a little old, so it probably had some history. The dim sum cart ladies were friendly and showed me the kind of dim sum they had in the cart. Overall the dim sum were very solid and decent, but they were not at the same level as the dim sum restaurants in California, Vancouver or New York. I would say this place is an ok restaurant to satisfy my occasional cravings for dim sum.

This place is a true gem. It's not in your typical Chinatown area but it's near the old Chinatown. They have great dimsum.

Good food, terrible waitress service & staff. They are rude. They ignore you when you ask for fork. Don't smile.

The food came out piping hot and super fast, within 5 minutes our table was full of dishes! We were a small party so we only tried some dishes: Shu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow (eh), Chicken Feet, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Soup Dumplings, Fried Shrimp Balls, and Tofu Pudding for dessert. The stars of the show were the siu mai, the Baked BBQ Pork Buns and the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns. The siu mai was packed with fillings and it was so good, might be the best one I've ever had. The Baked buns were good but the buns might be a little too heavy. However, the steamed buns were so airy, light, and fluffy. I've never seen a bun that fluffy, it was like touching a cloud. It was still good when we reheated it at home, too! My boyfriend also loved the chicken feet, it was packed with flavor and very juicy. On the other hand, the soup dumplings were okay they didn't have any soup in them. The shrimp har gow wrapper was really thick, making it not as good. The tofu pudding was delicious. It's silken tofu with sweet ginger syrup, usually served with chewy balls but they didn't have that here. It was served hot and it was my childhood so I had to get it :) It looked like a lot of food but the bill came out to be around $50+, which wasn't bad given that we had a lot of leftovers for the day. I would definitely come back here!

It felt like your standard Cantonese restaurant with mediocre food. Service: 3/5 - it was again good, but not great. Nothing to complain or rave about Ambiance: 4/5 - it was clean, huge dining space, and noise level wasn't too bad during dinner time. Overall, we had no wait and was sat at a table with a lazy Susan.

The chicken was crispy. I showed up after 20 mins after placing an order online and order wasnt ready, its ok. I asked waitress to check how much longer I would have to wait. She went to the back, checked, and didn't say anything when she came back out. I said ok I'll just wait. Another five mins goes by and it was finally ready. Be prepare to wait a long time. As she was packing the food, she forgot the rice, I had ask for it. After waiting for so long, she had the audacity to ask for my order number to confirm because she said sometimes there's multiple orders of the same name. If that was needed, shouldn't she confirm that before she went to the back to check on my order? I asked how many online order she had, she said one. Oh really, there cant be a mix up if you only have ONE ONLINE ORDER, what logic is that? just pissing me off for no reason. Also, how would I know where to find order number? I ordered through chowbus and it texted me the receipt. I pulled up the text and she saw the order number to confirm but she kept yapping. I had to cut her off to leave because I was hungry and she took long enough. People just cant work with urgency when you're hangry and in a rush to get home to eat.
