Always been one of my go to places. Seasoned well and enough food! They gave plentiful of oxtail with rice and beans. A decent amount of cabbage. I also ordered a festival which is basically dough. Yet tastes so good!

Do not make the same mistake I did and drive up here. They are closed. There is no follow up address as to their new location listed anywhere. It appears as though they've been closed for some time. I googled the location prior to coming and Google says they were open despite them being completely shut down.

As far as I am concerned, Golden Krust can't do any wrong. This place was right next door to the Korean fried chicken place, so I had to do it for later. I ordered my meal online and it was ready when I arrived. So happy I added a pink grapefruit Ting to set my meal off right. The patty didn't disappoint!! Every time id get one from dollar tree, I bake them golden brown. The jerk Chicken meal was good and plenty. Rice and peas great, cabbage, steamed just right. Ambiance of a great Caribbean restaurant. In memorial of the owner, GK will always have my heart.

You know when you eat food and you can't stop shaking your head cause it's SO good! That's the feeling I get when I eat this food We ordered stew chicken , rice and cabbage platter and this was a small! More than enough for 2 people. The spicy beef Pattie's and jerk chicken Pattie's were great! Pound cake is so moist and simple, great dessert. Very clean , says a lot about the staff and establishment.

I intended to go to 92 Chicken which is right next door to Golden Krust. However the chicken place was moving c slowly and I was pressed for time, so I went next door to Golden Krust and purchased several meat patties: spicy beef, mild beef, jerk chicken and mild chicken. Also a slice of cake a d a beverage. Friendly folks. Much nicer than the one near my home. The lunch selections looked excellent. They had jerk chicken, ox tail, stew beef, lots of veggies and so much more. Two pattjes filled me up, so I have snacks to warm up tomorrow.

(3/19/2024) There was a pretty long and slow moving line on a weekday at lunch time. I do love a spicy beef patty and their was just fine. It can't help but feel like all beef patties everywhere are from some single clone factory, as they all have that dayglo orange pastry crust and almost pureed-like beef filling. Got a small oxtail meal and it is by no means small. They do jam pack the styrofoam take out container with rice and beans and the oxtails and cabbage. It certainly was a lot of good, savory, well-seasoned food for the price. I got a box of oxtails for my coworker and he said he loved everything about them, they were perfect.

We went to get jerk chicken wings and was ready to eat the meal BUT IT WAS GIVEN TO US ABSOLUTELY REFRIGERATOR COLD AND BURNT with no warmth, so we had to wait til we arrived home 35 minutes later to eat. Very disappointed because we like this restaurant

    Stew Chicken Meal

Went here around lunch time but my food was still old the rice was mushy chicken was hard as if it was wormed up multiple times. And not to mention the flavor the stewed chicken taste like ketchup. Not sure if there just have if an off day but my food was the worst

I don't love this location but all of the Golden Krust restaurants have delicious food. I am a huge fan of spicy beef patties. They are my guilty pleasure comfort food treat. I'll order two or three and stuff myself with all of them. Occasionally I'll add jerk chicken, rice & peas, plantains, carrot and rum cakes to my order. The jerk chicken is slow roasted. The meat is super moist and falls off of the bones. The plantains are delicious and there never seems to be enough in an order. I love the rice and peas. It's simple and yet very tasty. All of the desserts sold here are wonderful so it's a matter of your personal preference. I really like carrot and rum cakes. Customer service is always good here. The food is served fresh and hot.

Typical Jamaican food. No change from other GK. Has usual the pastry is good. 1 regular food can serve upto 3-1/2 person, it's alot of food. Nice eating area not something you typically find at a Jamaican restaurant.

I am addicted to Carribean Food eversince I have tried Goldenkrust! My NYers make fun of me because they feel I am "late" experiencing this type of "soul food" per say. I have probably gained extra LBS eating from here at least 3-4 times a week! I have tried their Braised Oxtails, Stew Chicken, Rice n Peas, Cabbage, Mac n Cheese and the Plantains. Braised Oxtails - Similar to Mama Nems but with a Carribean kick. fall off the bone tender meat and the "gravy" is delicious especially over the rice and peas! Stew Chicken - Tender fall of the bone chicken! Love the brown gravy! Especialy again when poured over the rice and peas! This is an all time FAVE and the oxtails when it comes to GoldenKrust eateries! Steamed Cabbage - LOVE! So tender yet flavorful and crisp. It has a slight mixture of corn, green beans and carrots. LOVE this side dish I order an EXTRA side because its too damn good! Mac n Cheese - Tad bit dry and grainy for my taste for what I am used to. Still ok. Kind of bland as well. Plaintains - Not too soggy but fried right. Rice n Peas - This has some slight spice to it but very delicious on its own! Its somewhat similar to cuban rice n beans but this has its own carribean taste. Full Meals costs about $8-11 depending what you order. You can get "Express" meals for have the price especially stew chicken! Just mention the ad outside window and depending on who serves you they will give you a "meal" for $4.99! Staff are friendly however - You have to tell them sometimes to pack some food on there. They can be shy with the meat n sides.. LOL They also serve delicious "beef patties" which are imo the carribean "empanadas".hey also serve authentic carribean baked desserts and "drinks"! For a quick fix of Carribean Soul Food - This is the place to go!

No complaints there at all. Beef Patty: 2/5 - The seasoning was actually pretty good, so the flavor was there. Unfortunately, the patty itself was very dry and had much less beef filling than I expected. I kept hoping for a better bite, but it never really happened. Coco Bread: 1/5 - It was served warm, which was nice, but it was also quite dry. I was expecting the soft, buttery, slightly sweet coco bread that's perfect for pairing with a patty. This one missed the mark for me. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible thanks to the excellent customer service, but the food just didn't live up to what I expect from a Jamaican restaurant. There are enough great Jamaican spots around Orlando, that I probably wouldn't make a return trip here. I was rushing on my break or I would've taken a photo.

The giant NOW OPEN banner was flapping like it personally invited me, and the storefront painted in bold Trinidad flag colors looked ready to hand out citizenship papers with every order. I walked in thinking I'd grab a quick bite. Rookie mistake, one look at the doubles and suddenly I'm ordering five. Then I'm calling my aunt and cousin like it's a family emergency: "Allyuh want doubles? Because these looking SERIOUS." Next thing you know, I'm walking out with ten doubles like I'm catering a small festival. And let me tell you, these doubles? Soft bara, perfectly seasoned channa, pepper and tamarind sauce hugging everything like a warm Caribbean auntie. I've basically been on a doubles‑only diet since, and honestly, I feel spiritually aligned. I even ate one cold from the fridge and it still slapped. That's when you know it's real. Then there's the boneless curry chicken with buss‑up‑shut. Pure comfort. The kind of meal that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. The potatoes were soft enough to spread on a cracker, the channa was rich and earthy, and the chicken tasted like somebody's grandmother was in the back whispering, "Put a lil' more seasoning, nah." The buss‑up‑shut was fluffy, torn, and ready to scoop up every drop of curry like it had a mission. And the pepper sauce? Flavorful. Respectful. Not trying to fight me or send me to the ER. A rare and beautiful thing. The place is clean, the parking is plentiful, and the staff has real Trini accents that instantly make everything feel more authentic. Even the way they say "Next!" has rhythm. Next time, I'm calling ahead for dhal phourie, because clearly this place does not miss and I'm not risking it selling out. If you see me there again, mind your business! I'm probably ordering another ten doubles and living my best life.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). I got this to-go and was worried it would get soggy but it still tasted great when I got home. Environment This is located in a plaza tucked away near the corner. The menu read great and we were excited to try this place since we love Jamaican Food. Was not easy to make a reservation - had to call Universal main line and choose from options. However, once we got a person, the reservation process was easy and pleasant. We informed the person taking the reservation that this was our first time visiting the restaurant so we expected a nice table - I assume they want repeat business. But instead we were seated right in front of the live band and it was so loud, we couldn't talk at all. The funny thing was that the restaurant was barely half full! Our waiter also had a tough time hearing us so we had to corret our orders a couple of times. They ran out of beef patties:-( that day. We decide to order some appetizers and a couple of entrees and shared. We had the Buffalo Soldier Jerk Wings - Had a nice spice to it and was quite delicious. We also hd the Jerk Caulifolower bites - a little sweet and spicy sauce and we all agreed this was the best dish we had! We had the Curried Goat stew - a weak curry and did not really have any spice to it. The Reggae Jamaican Jerk Chicken had a sweet spice and sticky sauce - next best dish we had. We also ordered the Coco bread- which was disappointing andd I do not recommend. It was just bread with some butter in it and definitely overpriced for what you got! Cocktails were rather weak. Server was just OK. He wasn't very attentive and did nothing to make our visit great.
