It's been a while since I last visit. I do love Cantonese cuisine a lot but my partner is pescatarians so it is sometimes hard for us to decide on the restaurants. It's his first time here and I'm glad they have many options for him. Their fish is delicious and the service is great. People there are super nice. The environment is also quiet during lunch time on Sunday. We are very happy with the experience and will come back again.

I got the shrimp lo main after buffet hours everything tasted fresh and as you can see look fresh but they are pretty pricey but I guess your paying for the freshness of the food

Quick and Cute buffet place. Not as big of a buffet as i was expecting, but enough. I went during the lunch hour special and it was honestly a really good price for being an all you can eat. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to grab a quick bite to eat. The food was pretty good, not the best i have had, but still satisfying, hot and fresh. The service was also good and attentive even though it was mostly self service they were still super nice and responsive.

I think this place is actually quite underrated! They specialize in Cantonese food, and some of the menu items are truly unique. I have tried a few of their dinners, and everything has been pretty satisfactory. A few days ago, I went and just got a little snack from them. I tried the flowing egg sugar buns. They were actually very tasty as well. Not incredibly sweet, but still very flavorful. Filled with a ton of the sweet paste on the inside. I've had this from a few places, and this has been one of my favorite versions. Tons of filling too! Solid portions, okay prices. All in all, I think this place is often overlooked, but it's quite good! Very solid deal for the portions and unique items. I would recommend it!

This is a good place for some Cantonese dishes. The char siu combo plate is very generous portion wise. You do have to wait a little for the clay pot so we didn't order it this time. We definitely will next time. The steamed pomfret fish was very tender and yummy. It has a buttery and flakey texture with very few bones. It was steamed perfectly with bean sauce. I will definitely be coming back again. Pittsburgh is a bit limited on good quality Cantonese food but this place is a great find!

I stayed at a nearby hotel while visiting Pittsburgh. This restaurant serves Hong Kong style claypot rice. I ordered the spareribs claypot rice, one of my favorites when I was growing up in HK. I liked it.

Was looking for a new dim sum option in the city so we popped over to Golden Palace on Sunday. It was pretty empty inside and I wonder if it's cause it's summer for students. The inside did seem pretty updated. We wanted to get a sampler of dim sum items so we opted for the dim sum platter for 4. I wasn't a big fan on the options included and the food wasn't hot which was concerning to me. Next time I think we'll order a la carte and try other items like chicken feet or short ribs. The mini soup dumplings were okay, but I was not a fan of the other ones. However, we did really enjoy the pork and egg congee. It reminded me of congee my grandma would make and the ones in NYC. The char sui was decent, and I would order it again as well. Would definitely recommend trying some congee options and the Cantonese bbq char sui!

This is one of the few places in Pittsburgh that has Cantonese dimsum! They're really authentic, and the flavors are great! My only complaint is their shrimps are a bit small. They have a buffet, but you can also order from their menu. We got catering from them a few times, and their food is always really yummy. The owner is super friendly. Now that they have dimsum, they might just be my go to Chinese restaurant!

I've come here pretty often for their buffet. They don't have a huge selection, but they have all the basics (lo mein, crab rangoon, green beans, sesame chicken, etc.). And all of it tastes good and is seasoned well. They also have a student discount for the buffet which is lovely! I've also ordered the meat combo over noodles and it was SO GOOD! The chicken, charsiu, and duck were all so good. The chicken was so soft and juicy. The charsiu was seasoned extremely well and not overly fatty. And the duck was so flavorful and oily in the best way! I know I'll be coming back.

I went with my wife and daughter who both love the Golden Palace Buffet. I am not a huge fan of Chinese food to start with. When you walk in you pay at the cashier. The price for dinner is a very reasonable 9.50. The cashier was extremely friendly. Then we all sat down and then immediately started into the buffet. The selection was ok for me not great. I would have liked to of seen more of a selection especially vegetable dishes. Al in all I do have to say that the Golden Palace is defiantly worth the 9.50 for dinner. I would go again and I would recommend The Golden Palace Buffet to anyone who wants and inexpensive descent chines food dinner.

Excellent! Everything tasted fresh and seemed authentic. Hot and sour soup was the best I've had, spring rolls were amazing and my Bendon was delicious.

The price is fine, pretty mediocre though as far as cheap chinese buffets go. The eggrolls were undercooked.

    They serve crab meat?

When we were there, they had lobster which was a special item not in their regular menu. Then we had sea bass on another visit which was on their regular menu there but which I don't see on their website menu; but I see "Blue Crab Congee".

They have a series of vegetarian appetizers, but that's not their focus. In terms of the overall experience, the staff is very friendly and on top of things. We ordered takeout, but the online ordering site didn't give us a confirmation of our order. A quick call to the restaurant confirmed that everything was received and already in process. In terms of the food, the wood ear mushrooms and tofu skins was a clear winner. The broccoli was fine, but I would have preferred Chinese broccoli or watercress if they were available. The five spiced eggplant was fine: steamed to a custard-like level of softness, then paired with a salty sauce and served cold. The dan dan noodles were probably best suited for a dine-in experience and didn't really travel well. My partner tells me that the stuffed pork buns were good, but the solid piece of pork in the center was less optimal than something shredded or thinned out with some vegetable matter. All told, this was a good experience. The vegetarian appetizers were good but not exceptional. The various noodle and bun dishes were very nicely crafted. The hand made noodles were a particularly nice touch, with a lot more flavor and texture than I would have ever expected. If I have any requests, it would be for more vegetable centric noodle options.

We ordered takeout this time, and the overall experience was great. We placed an order online, and everything was very neatly packaged and ready to go when expected. The food even travelled fairly well, such that it was still in good shape after traveling home. The restaurant itself is in a bit of a drab strip mall, but it's generally nicely decorated with colorful signage and a nicely kept interior. In terms of the food, the shrimp spinach dumplings were really nicely done, with lots of flavor and texture. My partner especially enjoyed the barbecue pork bao, which were nicely steamed with a very flavorful filling. The egg tart was good, but not really my thing. It had a bit of a caramelized sugar flavor reminiscent of waffles with syrup. The spicy oil splashed noodles, one of the noodle dishes on the menu, was generally lacking: some nice toppings, but not much flavor. Overall, this is a nice little place that seems to be fairly well run. I suggest going for the dim sum and giving up on expectations for anything on the menu that isn't dim sum. We didn't see much of the inside because we chose the option to enjoy our meal outside in the garden. Fortunately, we were able to snag a 5:30 PM reservation a couple Fridays ago. My friend set up notification alerts on Resy and a different party canceled their reservation the day before. This restaurant is very popular. KHAO YUM - 24 This is a 17 ingredient salad with tamarind dressing. I'm not usually a salad person, but this one was incredibly delicious and refreshing. Lots of crispy textures from the various vegetables, some juicy, tart and bitter pieces of grapefruit, and the crispy rice was the perfect fried carb on top. A bit pricy, but a great app to share for the whole table. CRISPY SHRIMP - 32 We were each able to get two pieces of shrimp among the four of us. The shrimp was batter and fried with a sweet garlicky glaze. While it was crispy and juicy, I thought it was a bit too saucy. It wasn't my favorite, but one of my friends really enjoyed the shrimp -- sauce and all. KHAO SOI - 48 The red and yellow curry was flavorful, and the egg noodles were perfectly soft with a bit of chew. The wagyu beef cheek was tender, but there wasn't much in it. Each order came with a whole lamb shank. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful -- it fell off the bone with ease. I highly recommend this entree for its delicious curry and lamb. Overall, pricy food with a elegant aesthetic. It's also more of fusion Thai food than it is authentic. Can definitely see why this is one of the more popular and well-loved restaurants in Pittsburgh!

I only had maybe a couple bites of those and can't comment too much since it's been almost two weeks. These dishes are a fan favorite among my CMU alumni friends.
