Had a quick cocktail and takeout this week and it was even better than I remember. The dim sum was so juicy and flavorful, plus travelled well until I got home! I loved the Singapore noodles as well! The vibes in the bar area are so cool, I had a mezcal cocktail that was Smokey and fruity.

I think it's safe to say that The Parlor Dim Sum was my most anticipated spot on my 2025 must-try list. I made a reservation for a Saturday evening; my fiancé and I had a nice date night. When we arrived they told us that we only had the table for an hour and 15 min, which worried me a little, BUT the food came out really fast. Everything was amazing - from the food & drinks, to the service & ambiance. What we ordered: Drinks: Elixir of Life aka lychee martini (mine) & Butler Street Dynasty Highball (his) - both were refreshing and delicious! I love a lychee martini Dan Dan dumplings (that week's special) - absolutely incredible. Anything with chili oil has my heart. Cha Siu roasted pork bao - tender pork & fluffy bao = perfection Steak Ho Fun - my fiancé's dish, but of course I tried and we both loved! Wide noodles are my favorite. Pan fried crispy egg noodles w/ shrimp, scallop & squid - my dish! Honestly this dish takes patience. I wasn't sure how to eat it at first, but realized you have to slowly mix the noodles into the hot broth at the bottom and then they'll cook. The seafood was so fresh and the broth was lil spicy and it was just so yummy! They tell you this when you order, but the entrée portions are HUGE. I love when an entrée is so big that I can have leftovers the next day (and they still held up great as leftovers). This meal was just so amazing, it is definitely going in our rotation.

I've been wanting to try this place every time I drive down butler street. I got takeout, but the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. It's very small and intimate. My favorite thing was the Lava bao. So silky like custard and umami. The chicken dumplings with the dim sum sauce were my favorite bite. I also really enjoyed the ginger scallion sauce. The taro dumplings were well balanced with textures and flavors, but I wanted to like them more!! I would definitely like to go back and eat in to try other menu items.

The Parlor continues to be one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh for late night food. The $5 plates truly can't be beat. We took friends for their first time last night, and they are still talking about the food and drinks today. We were seated right away, and although our drinks took longer than usual to make, they were well worth the wait. The Uncle Roger is one of my favorites. We also tried the new Diagram cocktail on the bar menu, and it was phenomenal. Very fruit forward and sweet, but not over-the-top. Our friend also tried the whiskey espresso martini and enjoyed it. We ordered off the late night menu, and I believe we ordered one of everything except for the shrimp dumplings (even though they're great). As always, we left very full and very happy. The DJ who we've come to know and love was also there, doing house mixes of our favorite early 2000s songs. Paired with the low lighting and good cocktail menu, this would make for a great date spot or regular post-bar snack spot. Whatever your reason for visiting is, I highly recommend stopping into The Parlor.

What a fun dining experience! Some of the most delicious and unique dim sum dishes. Fun vibe inside. I think we ordered every dim sum option on the menu, and would do it again. Don't forget to get the few extra sauces because they really make the meal!

Yummy food that's kind of like a modernized/fusion ish dim sum. It's a cool and hip vibe in there. I think it's more expensive than other dim sum places but worth it for the food and the vibe. I love how they have lazy susan tables there. Drinks are great too!

Great spot to order a bunch of different things and share at the table. Enjoyed everything we got

The parlor is a great spot for authentically based Cantonese food featuring chef Roger Li's creative spin making it much more appealing to the American pallet(not as bland as traditional Cantonese). What Li accomplishes here is an incredibly difficult feat bringing an ancient and nuanced (and exceedingly complex) cuisine to Pittsburgh diners. This is a highly underrated restaurant because few appreciate the difficult to pull this off. The restaurants main dining room is a bit loud. I'd recommend their new outdoor patio or the back room that features a nice bar. The dishes are definitely to share, so order a lot! It might take 1-2 dishes before you find something you truly love.

From the table to the food, to the layout, a great experience. The know you are coming here to order food and share with your friends. There is a lazy Susan in the middle of the table to make passing easy. All of the food was excellent. I didn't have a bad bite. Service was great. You can see into the kitchen up the stairs. There is additional seating down the ramp I tot he bar area. The layout kept you from being over crowded. What a treat.

As per usual, Parlor does not disappoint! Went this week for Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake!) and had a wonderful experience. We started with a bunch of dim sum and then all ordered a meal and shared family style. Dim Sum Favorites: Siu Mai, Cheung Fun (pork or shrimp), Roast Duck Eggroll, and Pork & Chive Potstickers. Tried the Turnip Cake for the first time and it was shockingly good! The Lunar New Year special Shrimp & Scallop Spinach Crystal Dumplings were on point! Entree Favorites: The Duck Fried Rice, Lobster Noodles, Steak Ho Fun, and the Black Pepper Beef Ribs are always favorites and you can't go wrong with the Trio Cantonese BBQ Plate. Dessert Favorites: Egg Tarts and Sesame Balls. The lunar new year Milk Tea Egg Tart with Strawberry Boba was insanely good! Pro tip: Get multiple orders of the marinated cucumbers - you're welcome! Also, I suggest one of all of the sauces to accompany your dim sum or entree. Finally, their cocktail game is next level. Try a cocktail with Baijiu (Chinese liquor). The unique flavor profile will surprise you and its not something you find at most bars. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. If you have a dietary restriction/allergy, they are happy to help keep you safe and your stomach full! The ambiance is incredible - from the mahjong tile entrance to the lanterns hanging inside to the neon dragon over the bar...it won't disappoint.

If you are a big sharer, then this is a good place to try! We ordered a few different plates to share and their specials and we were delighted with our choices. The food came out hot and fresh all with beautiful presentation. Our server was attentive and service was quick! The space itself is small and intimate. The dumplings were handmade, egg rolls perfectly crispy, and fried rice was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We got the sauce trio as well and they were all perfect accoutrements to the meal. We really enjoyed our experience here and look forward to coming back.

Omg! I had never been here but I'm so happy to have checked it out. The portions were perfect. The only thing I wish was different is I like a sweet sauce for my spring rolls like a plum or duck sauce and they had dim sum or a chili sauce. Otherwise, this is a perfect stop for solo, friend or date night eats! We just grabbed seats at the bar and got our foodie on.

I've passed by this place so many times and it always looks busy, and I finally understand why it's so popular! To start, I had emailed to make a reservation since I had a party of 7, and they were very helpful in getting that reservation set up. Upon arriving to the restaurant we were quickly greeted by our waiter and he was helpful and even recommended some dishes! The food and drinks came out pretty fast despite how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday evening. The lychee martini wasn't made really well and wasn't overly sweet at all. The jade dumplings were good too and I recommend getting the dim sum sauce with the dumplings. Most of the entrees are family style so keep that in mind when ordering here. I got the superior soy noodles and they weren't bad, but it could've used more flavor. I used some dim sum sauce to improve the flavor. Overall not a bad experience at this restaurant, and there were a decent number of vegetarian selections. The restaurant itself was pretty cool looking on the inside as well.

They have a series of vegetarian appetizers, but that's not their focus. In terms of the overall experience, the staff is very friendly and on top of things. We ordered takeout, but the online ordering site didn't give us a confirmation of our order. A quick call to the restaurant confirmed that everything was received and already in process. In terms of the food, the wood ear mushrooms and tofu skins was a clear winner. The broccoli was fine, but I would have preferred Chinese broccoli or watercress if they were available. The five spiced eggplant was fine: steamed to a custard-like level of softness, then paired with a salty sauce and served cold. The dan dan noodles were probably best suited for a dine-in experience and didn't really travel well. My partner tells me that the stuffed pork buns were good, but the solid piece of pork in the center was less optimal than something shredded or thinned out with some vegetable matter. All told, this was a good experience. The vegetarian appetizers were good but not exceptional. The various noodle and bun dishes were very nicely crafted. The hand made noodles were a particularly nice touch, with a lot more flavor and texture than I would have ever expected. If I have any requests, it would be for more vegetable centric noodle options.

It seemed to attract a lot of nearby people on their lunch breaks as well as students. I went in late December so it wasn't too busy and I found parking around the corner. I was seated and browsed through the menu. I ended up ordering: - Warm HK milk tea: I found this overly sweet overwhelming the milk tea - Pork with egg: This was under the HK menu with the char siu, crispy duck, and chicken option. What I got was not what I was expecting (char siu and boiled egg). The plate was more egg drop soup with pork and peas. It also had a sweet flavor. - Dim sum for one: Sui mai was decent. Har gao was off. They must have put something meant for the dessert dumpling into it. Coconut didn't have the mochi consistency I was expecting. It was very soft, not at all sticky or chewy. Staff was really nice. I just didn't enjoy my meal, unfortunately.
