    Salty Combo Fried Rice

Fried rice is amazing, usually but this last order was worst. I was wondering if there was a different cook in house of something. Everything was extra salty, our entire order, all $99.75 worth. My ordering didn't have the extra item that I requested, egg rolls were undercooked and again, everything was extra salty ...fried rice seemed like it was cooked in gallons of soy sauce. Oh and ordered two large soups ...had to pay extra for the soups wontons. They only provide one bags per soup, regardless what size you order which' is ridiculous. The cost is nominal however, how are you gonna give me the same quantity for large that you give me for a small... again ridiculous!

Anyone feeling under the weather? Flu like symptoms or congestion. Try the chicken noodle soup from Golden Pavilion in Bowie, Maryland. I got the take out version today. I call this my "Chinese Penicillin" soup. Loaded with white meat chicken, noodles and scallion. Broth is not loaded with sodium or MSG. This soup is a winter staple in my house. Phoned in my order and it was ready in ten minutes.

Waited awhile to be seated even though there's a guy behind the counter who wouldn't look our way. A waitress finally emerged from the back to seat us. Place is cozy and great for families.

I have to give a nod to Golden Pavilion for their food and service. I went with a large group and all of our dishes came out looking great! I ordered the Ikageso Karaage for something different and it hit the spot; Not overdone yet a great crunch on the outside. My entree was orange beef. It seemed a bit heavy on the batter but I found beef in every bite, it was cooked perfectly, and was well flavored. Some times large groups can be a challenge but every dish that was brought to our table looked amazing and the service was attentive and friendly.

Good food here! Ordered take out for lunch. Shrimp egg foo yung, general tso chicken, shrimp fried rice. The shrimp dishes were very good! General tso tasted more bbq like, so we didn't like that dish. All 3 dishes were cooked fresh, rice was soft and moist (like it should be) and the spring roll was good too. Now I don't eat spring rolls because they are usually hard and dry. But NOT these!! Soft, moist contents, good flavor. This is actually a restaurant (not a carryout). Entrance, waiting area, and bar were very clean. Seating appeared comfortable (I didn't sit). Staff was pleasant and welcoming. There were a few customers at the tables eating also. We will be back for other menu items and to dine in for the ambience.

I've ordered pick up once and dined in once. My review will focus mostly on the dining in experience. We ordered three entrees, Pork Chow Fun, General Tsos Chicken and Whole Duck. The duck was absolutely delicious and the serving size was quite substantial. General Tsos was only okay, it was quite unamusing, nothing special to discuss. Chow Fun was quite good when we ordered it for take out, but for this dining experience, we had to ask to re-cook it twice, as the noodles were still raw. The duck definitely saved this review from being a 2. I think we will come back another time to give it another shot and to try different entrees on top of the duck.

But since it was just me, I opted for seating at the bar. There are 2 bars at this location--one at the drink bar and one at the sushi bar. The drinks are VERY good, and the bartenders are very receptive to your orders and all. Ambiance was good--not too dark, just right. Very chic. I ordered a LOT. Several pieces of sushi, chicken karage (which I saw people post pics of, and that's what convinced me to check it out.), Japanese curry, and some other sashimi and little burgers. They were all fantastic! The chicken karage was the big hit--so delicious you can taste it thru the pictures. The curry wasn't spicy at all, but seeing as it's Japanese style, it's more on the savory and tasty side, not on the spicy side. Overall very delicious. The wagyu sashimi was VERY long (that's what she said), so eating one piece whole isn't recommended. Chew it, then swallow. The mini burgers were everything you love about Japanese takes on purpose burgers. Done perfectly, with that amazing bbq grill taste, too. The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing. My only gripe is that their ordering system is odd; you can only order so many pieces of food per order number. There are order limits, but it's setup such that the kitchen doesn't get overwhelmed. That being said, your orders usually come out pretty quickly. I highly recommend this place!

The sushi rolls were pick any 2 for $13. Absolutely fantastic rolls. I came in for the volcano bowl and I would come back again for the volcano bowl. I like a spicy broth and this was perfect. The skinny noodles are wheat noodles, but didn't taste any different from regular noodles. The bento box was very good as well. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the teriyaki sauce was excellent. The waitress was really good and finished the night with some complimentary bites of the mochi. I normally don't, but for others like us with serious food allergies (anaphylaxis), we feel we should share. This is what she wrote below: I informed the staff upfront that I have an egg allergy, which unfortunately led to a lot of confusion and disorganization. It wasn't clear whether my meal would be prepared separately in the back, and the process felt very uncoordinated from the start. The chef didn't have the ingredients ready at the cart and had to send the server back twice to get the correct portions of rice and meat. When my food finally came out from the back, it was chicken--even though I had ordered filet mignon--so they had to start over and cook the correct dish. After that, there was another delay of about 15 minutes while the steak was entered into the system. Then someone came back to ask how I wanted it cooked and whether I wanted noodles, even though those details should have been handled earlier. Initially, I was told I couldn't have certain items, but later that seemed to change. In total, it took about an hour before I was finally able to eat. The lack of coordination and communication made what should have been a simple accommodation for a food allergy unnecessarily stressful. We only ask that you do better to serve your customers and community.
