I would never Recommend these people to anyone, my husband took work off to meet them at our house for them to come and look not even go under the house just lay And look under the house and then says " oh you need to call a leak detection company!! Hugo is the best! I messaged him on yelp (along with a few other plumbers) and he called me right away. Literally, I think it was 10 mins after I hit send on yelp. Amazing response time. But it goes far more than that. He was able to diagnose the problem right away, review all options for repairs, and make a recommendation. He made the repair on the same day and the leak stopped. More than a week has passed and the repair still stands. I asked him to send me pictures before and after since I was at work and he sent them right away. He was so great to work with. BEWARE! I liked these guys when they came to my house to bid the sewer connection to the main. I agreed to dig it out, put on a silver platter, all they had to do was connect the two pipes and add a clean out. A 2 hour job. Run 3 water lines. Basically throw some self connect pipe in the ditch on some same and connect to the 3 houses at a hose bib 50' away. Gas was same thing. I dig the trench, they throw the material in and connect it to the stub out and I back fill it after inspection, test. Bid came in at $14,700. More then the other two guys but I figured I could get it down since they had including trenching etc. I put their name on permit. Low and behold, their secretary had made a mistake. My $14,700 went up to $48,700. How stupid do I look and desperate??? just because I am a woman and they think they can. Step OFF!!! crook... BEWARE read more

For the past couple of days, our garbage disposal has not been functioning. There seemed to be a clog, as the drain was very slow and every time the dishwasher ran, it was backing up into the sink. There also seemed to be water in the unit that houses the switch that wasn't a new development - but I wondered if it was related. Yesterday, I arranged for Golden State Plumbing to come out in the afternoon and take a look to give me an estimate, the first of a few I had scheduled. I had already run two courses of unclogging solution with little to show for it. Edwin arrived early (5pm for a 530-630 arrival) and went to look at the unit. When I got downstairs a few minutes later, it seemed like he had already ascertained the problem. He gave me two prices: $180 (I think this was to clear the clog and possibly something else) or $320 to replace the entire thing, including the switch. I mention this first estimate to my husband. I should mention that my husband works in tech and does not significant experience with plumbing. He decided to try a YouTube fix it trick, which involved a hex wrench and the reset button on the garbage disposal. It turned out that one of our toddler's forks had fallen down into the unit, compromising its functions. (To clarify in response to the owner's comment: the fork was across the opening, therefore preventing food from passing through. This should have been easily noticed by a professional.) He pulled it out, and got the disposal to start working right away. IT WORKS JUST FINE, and needed neither replacement nor unclogging. This makes me wonder why the technician who was sent out to my house did not observe this. Was he inexperienced? Incompetent? Or was this a deliberate attempt to gouge money for services not needed? I can only say that I wouldn't trust using this company again. read more

Edwin came out on time and new that I needed a new faucet after looking at it for a minute. Went to home depot and bought it and was back in under 30 minutes. Was even more mad than I was when the actual faucet was missing from the box. Went back got a new one, installed it and all that didn't take 2 hours. Will be using them again P.s. Edwin was very professional and within 2 minutes was able to diagnose our issue as a major leak from a refrigerator. I hired GS plumber to install a new gas line T-ing off gas meter over the attic down to laundry for my gas dryer. Jairo and the team of 3 did a superb professional job. I am very happy to have GSP to do the job. I have called other plumbers and even the city building inspectors to verify the work GSP was to perform. City Inspector validated the method, thus I have the guys to start. They were able to complete the work in just 4 hours whereas others plumber might take up to 8 hours to complete. Before I begin I like to say Hugo and his plumbing firm are superb and I absolutely recommend them over any of the larger and smaller firms you could call. 24/7 respectful, prompt, and polite service. I own several buildings and have made several service calls for plumbing to some of the big name firms you can all imagine including the largest one that I don't need to even name. They are clueless. I had a hot water issue at an apartment complex where I called 4 different firms including the largest one and they all told me something different that needed to be replaced on the water heater unit and to no success. They were all wrong and I continued to not have consistent hot water. I called Hugo out of desperation one night and within minutes he determined that the water heater was not the issue and it was other factors. Within minutes! No one was as quick and sharp as this firm and he was able to determine the external problem and began working on the job immediately in the middle of the night and got the hot water restored to all my tenants. I was shocked. I cannot recommend Golden State Plumbing enough for not only their knowledge and accuracy, but their promptness and professionalism. He was so patient with me over the phone and was willing to drop what he was doing on a Saturday evening to come and help me. But he was able to give me advice over the phone and I got my water heater back on and it's working just fine. I sent the message via Yelp 10.15am on Sunday. I got the call to setup appointment at 1.30pm same day , The person came by 3.30pm after finishing job elsewhere. They did followed up to let me know 'I will be there'. Good so far , and it gets better. The issue was "Seeing some amount of water leak on Kitchen floor". The person checked around nicely, and checked the water meter also - You don't have a leak, its your dishwasher. He then opened the dishwasher and pointed where the leak is. Gave me an acceptable estimate of the work - Gave me some options on how it can be fixed different ways - and also finished the job. Hugo and his team were "Johnny on the spot." I did a cold call on Golden State Plumbing and he responded. He gave me a quote that was fairly reasonable. It was a sizable job. A few months later, I had different problem and; he again was responsive and provided reasonable rates. However, a few days ago, I texted Hugo for another plumbing problem. We both agreed that he would swing by to inspect the plumbing problem at 4:30pm. Christian came by at 6:30pm to which he informed me via telephone that the wax at the base of the toilet needed to be changed. The cost is $320.00. I reluctantly agreed to it. I could have called a different company but since Golden State had a good track record with the previous jobs, they would be reasonable with their rates. I texted Hugo twice that night but he was unresponsive. I needed to understand as to why the charge was $320 for a .30 minute job. In sum, one could conclude that Christian's rate is $740 an hour - minus the cost of the wax. I also asked Christian to email me a copy of the receipt but to no avail. I'm just perplexed as to why customer service level fell off the grid. I suppose it's time to move on to a different plumber. read more

Water heater died late Saturday and Edwin was out in less than two hours. I needed to rebuild the platform, so he set the old one up to drain and headed to his next job (by my choice). I called Golden State Plumbing Sunday morning and he arrived within 20 minutes to provide my husband and I an estimate for a water heater replacement. He was able to complete the replacement that same day which was awesome since we didn't realize our water heater had leaked for about 7 days straight and didn't want to delay the repairs any longer. Long overdue but want to put a review for Golden State Plumbing on here. We've had Jayro over a few times to fix our plumbing issues and highly recommend him. We had a backup and they found a disconnected sewer line under our house in the crawl space. They recommended a restoration company that would clean out the mess and after cleaned they would be able to fix our pipe that was disconnected. Sunday night around 9pm, during a stormy weekend, the shower would not turn off. After calling 10-15 plumbers to see if anyone could come by the same night, Hugo picked up the phone. Explained the situation to him. He told me he may have a dispatcher available. Called me back in less than 2 minutes and said David would be at our place in less than an hour. Without much wait David arrived. He fixed our problem in 30-45 min. It was pricey, but given that it was so last minute, it was okay. I guess our cartridge was pretty old and pieces actually broke within the system. David had to finagle the lodge piece out.
