Martell Water Systems is definitely a 5 star company. On the morning of July 8th, I called them with an emergency, and I explained that I had no water. The same day, they diagnosed the problem with my well and was able to fix my water. They found that I had several issues and although they had most of parts in their work truck there was one thing they didn't have. Melissa, from the office came and delivered it to them so they could get my job done on the same day without having to come back another time. Hopefully, I won't have more issues with my well, but if I do I definitely know who to call And would highly recommend them. Thank you again Martell Water Systems. read more

They were able to squeeze in an emergency water delivery in an amazingly short time, and then followed up on Monday to do a repair that involved trekking up an unmaintained hillside forest. I have a private pump system for water to my house that failed. I called Martell at 9 am and by 11 Leroy changed his schedule, came to the house and had us operating within an hour after replacing the control box. This is not the first time Martell has helped us. Can't recommend this company at all, Terrible Customer Service Called on a Monday I told them that we needed a Water Truck on Sunday ( Which was Fathers Day I asked her are you guys still working that day is kinda a holiday SHE SAID YES ! ) and Then she said Call me back on Friday Morning and I'll know more info for you I said OK So Friday Morning I call she answers and says you'll have to call me back at 2pm I don't have any trucks back to let you know a time frame for Sunday, So I said OK and called her back at 4pm she AGAIN says I don't know I have your number I'll call you when the trucks pull in to let you know......And SHOCKER SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK....... These guys may be good at drilling wells - I wouldn't know though, because they've no showed/no response to me 5 times. I originally found them on Yelp as we're looking to replace our well. They were going to come out, then no showed. I called again, got another time, again a no show. 3rd time they said someone had a well emergency so would have to cancel (which is fine, I get it) but that they'd call back to reschedule - no call back, no new appointment. I called again, was told someone, I think his name was Leroy, was going to call - no call. Unbelievable way to run a business. I can't take these guys any more, I'll find someone out of area to come drill a new well. Just not worth the headache. read more

I can't say enough about Leroy and Martell. They service a well for a neighbor that's on my property. For almost thirty years hey have be courteous and respectful. They gave a thorough and competitive bid, and they stuck to it!!!! They were timely and did a fabulous job cleaning up after themselves, ESPECIALLY since this was a big well: 150 feet down. They did everything from drilling, buildings the well, electrical, and hooking into the irrigation system. But here's the best thing: Leroy maybe knows where every drop of water is in the aquifer underlying the whole count. While he can't guarantee water, he pretty much knows all there is too know. I flooded my yard all summer reducing my water bill to like $50 a month (down from over $1000). AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!!! Stephan read more

DO NOT USE OR WASTE YOUR TIME WITH MARTELL DRILLING! (Clayton Resident) LEROY CHANCELOR (says he's the owner).. Hung my 82 year old mother out to dry for 5-days with NO house water to 1/2 the house & NO landscape irrigation (motor on the well died Wednesday night); Called first thing on Thursday morning; they promised to communicate and try to be there Friday morning... we called in (nicely by the way) Friday 2 times thru the day... hung us out to dry... pushed us with bs till Monday morning... (Saturday morning, I even left an inquiry message & reminded them for the appt on Monday).,, We get a call TODAY (8/8/22) at 2:15pm and the girl who answers their phones tells my Mom "they crew is done with their job and can come now BUT... here it comes.... it will be $350 for the 1st 1/2 hour and $250 each 1/2 our after BECAUSE THEY HAVE FAMILIES TO GET HOME TO!" I have this crap recorded, ELDER ABUSE!! hold a senior hostage and then terrorize her financially for them to come fix her well motor as they promised. I call the office today at 3:20pm after I can Decipher the upset call from mom, and ask for the manager or owner, the reception is trying to screen me - now I know why lol. I get an older man on the phone who sounds completely uneducated & rough around the edges... I ask his name and he starts harassing me immediately on the phone, I'm trying to explain that I just want to talk to the manager or the owner to try to get control of this mess and he tells me that I've got him (he's the owner) and that he gave me his name and his title. Which he did not. All he wanted to do was fight on the phone. I am not sure why all the head games with customers. I explain who I am and he starts cussing me out on the phone telling me that the little old lady that's been calling him has been harassing him, and she needs to stop f***ing calling there which is complete insanity because I've been there for most of the phone calls coming into them. Nevertheless it doesn't matter but DO NOT waste your time with this company - it is of opinion that they are shady crooks that prey on anyone they feel has money OR seniors that can't deal with this stuff, by having us wait the 5-days she's lost a lot of beautiful established landscape that could have been salvaged if we'd known what assholes this company has working there by calling another well repair place. I am not exactly young, so I have delt with a lot of different companies throughout my life. My experience with Martell Water Systems is at the very top. I had a total well failure. Within ONE WEEK Leroy got approval from the County and had drilled me a new, state-of-the-art well at 150.' He hooked up a temporary water system on DAY ONE to service my family, and 55 fruit trees that would have died in the heat wave we experienced. I came across Martell Water Systems in my search for a company to drill a new well on my property out in Oakley. My existing well was having issues and needed to be replaced. I had been dealing with two other companies prior to finding Martell, but the other companies were terrible at following up with me and given the cost of a new well, I just didn't feel comfortable doing business with them. Martell on the other hand was completely different! Leroy came out on short notice after hours to give me a quote on the new well and explained their entire drilling process to me ( something none of the other companies had done ). He explained the equipment they used and the processes / materials which set them apart from everyone else. I'll be honest, when I was listening to him explain their process to me, everything sounded great, but in the back of my head, all I could think of was $$$ signs. I thought their quote was going to well above all the others I had received. When their quote came back, it was right in line with all the others I had received so I was pleasantly surprised. Being that I had no water, I was in a hurry to get the process started so I could finally put this disaster behind me. I put the deposit down on the job on a Thursday, Leroy had the permit for the new well that same day and had the rig and equipment set up at my house the very next day. Due to a holiday weekend, they didn't start drilling until that Wednesday, but they finished drilling by the end of the week. The following week, they installed the new pump and plumbed all the new water lines into my existing water system. The crew doing the work was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. They were able to drill the new well, get everything hooked up, destroy my old well and have me up and running in just about 2 weeks. All the other companies I talked to had quoted 2-3 weeks before they'd even begin the work. Martell definitely went above and beyond what I ever expected. The new well is working perfectly and their installation of the equipment was professional and thorough. Wells are not cheap so you want to make sure you have one reliable company to deal with who will drill the well and install the equipment. Martell was definitely that company for me so I suggest you check them out if you're in market for a new well. read more

The BEST company I've dealt with ever!!! Every single staff member was super friendly and professional and answered any and all questions we had, and we had A LOT! We definitely were not prepared to have to have a whole new well done for our home but they made the process very smooth and I really felt like they cared about my family (including our dogs) as well as doing high quality work. I have been using Martell water systems for years, but something must have happen and the went for being on the high side to very dishonest. I had a water pressure problem they sent one man out he could fix it but said the owner would get back to me with a estimate . The owner Leroy called and talked to fast you couldn't tell what he was saying. He never sent a written estimate. But I did hear if I need ever thing new it could be 4,000. no breakdown on parts or labor.. They came out the next week no advance notice. They send two men for a 45lb. pump. at $ 250 for the first half hour and 220 per hour after that this was a one man job 150 -130 rate. The help did no work at all just got a few tools and didn't even know that a cresent wrench was. When the hooked the system up it leaked and the one worker had to redo it. It took 3 1/2 for a hour job but some of that was it was a different pump they got me. I called the owner LeRoy when I got the bill and told him it was a one man job and the second man just watched., He became angry and very rude and said I told you 4,000 and that was what it was. But he padded the bill by $350 for a extra man that did nothing. I said I never got a written estimate he said I needed to ask for on. We have a well on our property that we use to water our landscaping. Twice in the past 10 years we had a malfunction with this system and I called Martell to fix it. The first time, the pump died and had to be replaced. The second time, the pressure switch that turned on the pump stopped working and had to be replaced. In both instances, Martell was responsive in setting up an appointment, coming out at the scheduled time, troubleshooting the problem, and fixing it. Martell drilled our well 30+ years ago in Piedmont and they have provided various repairs/upgrades over the years, replacing old, worn out parts. Last year they did a complete overhaul with new pump, pipe, wire and electrical components. Last month the well stopped working. It took them a few weeks to get to me because they are swamped with work and they provide service to those who can't flush their toilets first, landscape needs second. Frustrating but reasonable. They came out, I have been very impressed with their crews, and had to replace an electrical part they had installed last year. After pointing this out they only billed me for the labor not the part.
