My girlfriend and I are planning our engagement in a couple of months. I promised her that for the new year I would take her ring shopping to wherever she wanted. She found Golden String on Instagram and we decided to give their physical location a visit. After driving for more then 45 minutes, and seeing that they are open during the week, which my girlfriend confirmed by looking online at their hours, we arrived and no one was there. The shop wasn't open and no one was present to help. We saw other vendors in the area but Golden String was the one she wanted to shop at originally. It's very unprofessional and inconvenient to not update your hours online or find a way to at least communicate with clients, in which people can see if the store is open or closed. Especially in my case since I'm not native to LA. Maybe this was a sign to not buy or shop for rings from them, and even if it wasn't, I'd definitely not want people who don't take their job or business seriously making my girlfriends ring. read more

He was very knowledgeable and a 3rd generation jeweler. I had the stone, he made a custom piece in less than a week and the ring is absolutely perfect. Not only did I end up buying a higher grade diamond than what I expected, but she gave me an amazing deal on the price. It's so hard to find honest and ethical people, especially in the jewelry industry. Susie is honest and sincere and it comes through the second you meet her.
