I went to Golden Vision due to their wide selection of designer frames. I was specifically after ICBerlin due to the hinge design and lightness of the frames. Not mainly optometrists carry them and Golden Vision had a great selection in several colors and styles. Kathy Ip helped me in selecting the frames which suits my face and gave me great recommendations based on my requirements. I ended up picking up another pair of Pradas since I loved the selection of frames and the great customer service. I was expecting the glasses to be ready in two weeks. I get a message a week after to pick up both pairs. I was surprised and happy they were completed so quickly. When I picked them up, Kathy checked my insurance and told I can get another pair. I spent over an hour trying on different pairs and ended up getting a pair of Chanel sunglasses. Kathy was patient and listened. I got exactly what I wanted and never felt pressured to get something I didn't. I am a happy customer with lovely new glasses. read more

I've been to a few optometries in the past but this is my new favorite. I went here for a new glasses & contacts prescription and the staff was very helpful. Jennifer helped me with the paperwork and was patient during contact fitting - I have long acrylics but she showed me how I can still do it. My appointment was with Dr. Ma and he answered all of my concerns since it was my first time getting contacts. He was also very thorough when discussing my retinal scan and explained everything clearly. I didn't ask for the computer prescription but he made one for me anyway. I came again a month later to purchase a new box, but I suggest calling in ahead of time because they may not have it in stock. Brenda (the lady with the huge wedding ring lol) was also really helpful because she gave me some advice about daily contacts and monthlies since I considering between the two. I don't have insurance so I'm gonna buy glasses online for cheaper, but I came in for my PD & they gladly measured me and offered to print me out a new copy of my prescriptions. I had a bad experience here and I would not recommend people to come here for their glasses. When I came to pickup my glasses, I was treated by a rule woman. There is no custom service at all here if you need any help. A woman working here insisted nothing is wrong when I told her that my new glasses is uneven on my face. She didn't even check the glasses is okay or not. She just stand there and keep saying it looks even. When I adjusted the nose pieces myself, she told me that there is no refund if I break the glasses. "Are you kidding me?!". Why would you make such a rude comment to customer. I've had my eyes checked and ordered glasses at this branch. They messed up my glasses 4 times now and still can't make the glasses right. 1st time went here and I've waited more than month before I learned that they have lost my glasses. They never called or texted me. When I called them, they said my glasses are available for pickup. When I got to the clinic, they said they could not find my glasses. Okay, they said they look for it and they will call me if they have located it. Apparently, they could not find it so I had to go back and reorder my glasses. Third time I went here when they confirmed my glasses is now available, but when I checked my glasses the lenses are different color from what I've ordered. So they have to reordered to get the lenses fixed. 4th time i came back, the color of the lenses are correct but this time, the grade of my lenses are not right. Hopefully, they will get my glasses right on my 5th visit. I don't recommend this branch. Either I'll find other competent and reliable clinic or maybe just maybe go to Cupertino branch. I needed to add anti-reflective coating on the lenses of an eye-wear already made and I wanted to inquire about out-of-pocket options. Without looking at us, she screams,walking in haste , "it's not possible Now, insurance is already used". It was close to 6 so I guess she wanted to get rid of us without discussing options. However, it was demeaning and highly inappropriate. She assumed that we cannot afford to pay out of pocket. The only reason I gave 2 star is because the doc is pretty good and the other sales rep tried to help us and ask for options when she was available. Friendly people, but they charge fees for basic things like it's a side of extra guacamole when really it's just ketchup, guys. I'm here for a health service, not some premium luxury michelin star brunch. I recently moved again so had to find a new optometrist...again. Came here for contacts fitting. Be prepared for your usual copay and also a contacts fitting fee, which is also standard but I mention because it's usually a surprise that it's not covered under insurance as part of the exam (can cover as your lens allowance but that means less lenses). However, their fee was a bit pricier than other places. Contacts prices seem a bit pricier than retail stores but that seems to be typical of vision stores. The one charge that caught me off guard is that they charge PER PRESCRIPTION. I'm sorry, but it's literally one exam. At other places, I'm given multiple contacts to try and have a follow up to check how it's working, even if it's the same as previous years. I didn't get that here, didn't try on any contacts. Just got a written rx because nothing changed. Although when asked about it, they offered samples. But I was charged if I wanted a prescription that listed different contact brands. I usually get multiple prescriptions to try different brands and types (dailies, monthlies, color) and is ultimately up to me which one I choose to buy, mix or match, and use regularly (who the heck wears colored contacts year round?!). But here, you'll need to pay for those choices. I have never had that happen in my entire life of being nearly blind. When you go to a doctor, they don't charge you per medication you need (choose between your diabetes or stroke prescription anyone?!), they charge on the exam because IT'S THE SAME EXAM. So it's crazy to me they charge per prescription. In the end, I had to go back for something and another worker overheard something separate and actually realized my situation needed to or could be billed a certain way that saved me a tonnn. Definitely makes up for the prescription charge, but still that shouldn't be a thing. A little upset that not everyone is trained the same on billing insurances but also being in healthcare I know very well how difficult and tricky billing is so I understand the struggles. But it's also why I'm so upset about charges that I know are put on by the business that they claim are due to insurance when it's not. It's just greed. Like that doc that wants to keep seeing you every month just got a refill of your med. Not illegal, but just blatantly greedy. But hey, I'm very very very very thankful for the lady who caught the other situation. I owe her my eyeball. Overall, everyone's super friendly, even as I'm reacting in shock to the charges and prices. Nothing you can really do about it except do your research beforehand so hopefully this helps someone. If you need one thing and one thing only, no special lenses, no add on, willing to take anything they give you, then this place will be for you. If you are particular about your eye needs, then just be ready to pay up for all those boxes they're suddenly checking on that order form. read more

I am really glad there is a Golden Vision here in the Silicon Valley Area. I got spoiled by all the great choices of frames available in Golden Vision at Alhambra, SoCal and I was not disappointed with the selections of frame at this store. The first year I relocated to NorCal, I decided to try CVS as it was near my house and we were in the Covid-times, pre-vaccine. I was not happy with both the prescription and the frames. Frames aside, the service at the store was awesome! The check-in process, machine eye tests, optometrist and most importantly the eyewear specialist, Kathy that assisted us in choosing the right frames. We tried on countless pairs of frames and Kathy was cheerful and patient. Also for once, I received a call to pick up my glasses exactly in the time frame I was told it will be ready. Mom had her eye exam and new pair of glasses with Golden Milpitas. Since pandemic started, mom can't go to Hong Kong to get her new pair of glasses. Prescription glasses is much cheaper in Hong Kong, and mom near sightseeing power rate is so high and she needs a pair of glasses in light weight. Finally, I brought her to Golden Milpitas for a try, since Costco lens are way too thick and heavy, plus the glasses made her dizzy. Dr. Wong is super super nice and experienced, mom needs a Cantonese speaking optometrist. Dr. Wong can answered all the questions and concerns mom had. We both love Sharon, she picked the light weight frame for mom and the lens here are super super thin and light weight. Mom can see things clear and the glasses are not heavy at all. SELL, SELL, SELL is their model. First time customer and we will NOT be back. We're a party of 4 and I walked in indicating to them that I'd like to use up my VSP benefit for the year. Well, that sounded $$$ to their ears, I'm sure. *** PRICEY: Great selection but so what! All their glasses are priced at MSRP. Think $280 Nike glass frames - yes, just for the frame... RIP OFF!!!!! *** PUSHY: After our eye exams (which were mostly conducted by assistances, by the way, and not by the real eye doctor), we identified our eyeglass frames and got ready for the lens and pricing discussion. They pushed for a $280 upgrade to the lens for crap like "scratch resistent, UV block, no glare, etc, etc, etc. ... Feeling like 'about' to get ripped off, I flatly declined ALL and ANY upgrade and indicated that I just want a plain-vanilla lens... (mainly to gauge their reaction) and sure enough, my salesperson simply walked away. Another lady came and re-sold the entire $280 upgrade, indicating why it's really good for my eyes, etc. This time, the 2nd associate softened the tone and said, well, you may not need this and that and lowered the "upgrade to $190" and then said "with the insurance, you are really getting a $500 pair of glasses for only $370".... Seriously!!!!?!?!? *** SNOBBY: I ended up with an $80 upgrade and my glasses were still $200. My pair of plain-vanilla back up glasses. I went to pick up my eyeglasses yesterday. When I walked in to Golden Vision Milpitas, I asked a lady who sat by herself and was not helping anyone for help. I needed to pick up my eyeglasses. Her name is Sharon. When I tried on my new eyeglasses, I felt the eyeglasses were uneven. I asked if Sharon can adjust it for me. She said it looked even to her. I asked AGAIN if she could please help me adjust it. She said go ask Kathy who helped me order the eyeglasses to fix it. I looked at her cold face, I was speechless. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IT? I didn't know Kathy was off yesterday. Is it a new rule that the same person that helped me order the eyeglasses have to adjust the eyeglasses for me? I have been coming here for a while and always loved their collections. They carry your everyday brands like chanel, cartier, etc. and harder to find brands such as Chrome Hearts. The customer service is top notch and are always patient when it comes to trying on frames. They do temperature check, require wearing mask, advise to use hand sanitzer before entering as well as sanitize frames you after you touch/try them on. Highly recommend you give then a visit if you have frame fatigue and are just tired of not able to find the right glasses! read more

Bad customer service. I am their customer for many years until about 2 years ago. My $500 frame broken within 6 months; called them to ask whether there is any warranty, their said because I bought it using my vision insurance, there's no warranty. I send an email to the frame manufacturer to ask for spare parts, they replied said since it is within 6 months, they will replace a new frame for me, just need the retailer to contact them and they will send a new pair to them. I called Golden Milpitas Optometry and tell them this, they still refuse to help. I had to send email to the frame manufacturer for help. So. Finally about many emails, phone call and several weeks of effort, Golden Milpitas Optometry agreed that they will help receive the new frame for me. I went in this past Thursday trying to get my eyeglasses restrung for one of the lenses that's half held up by a fish wire. When I got there there was a counter staff working with a customer, two other staff working in the cubicle, two others working at a side counter, and one other main counter lady talking leisurely for 10 minutes. During that time, I stand at the center of an almost empty shop, with at least the two staff at the side counter and the main counter staff saw me waiting for help, yet NOBODY bothered to come over. Eventually I tried to approach the first counter lady whose customer was leaving, that's when the other counter lady on the phone called another staff at the side counter to see if I need help. Then they told me their technician probably wouldn't be in until Saturday - what a waste of my time. Makes you wonder what's keeping the four other staff so busy that they could ignore a customer for 10 minutes standing in the middle of the shop. Of course, that's the last time they'd see me. read more

I've been going to this place for years and to be honest, I'm surprised to say I've been going here for that long. I think it was the combination of this is what my parents are used to and me just not really thinking about it until I started getting my own insurance and "adulting". I think if you're going here to get your prescription and basic eye exam, sure it does the job. You're partially in and out, but be prepared to be stuffed in a crowded place where besides your optometrist, it seems as though you're just working with a whole bunch of college kids or maybe younger. Without a doubt though, they were nice and I had no problems with them. Now anything outside of your basic prescription and eye exam? Sales side? That's where the problem is. They rush you and to be honest don't really care about the glasses or how they look, it just feels like they want a sale out of you and will try to up the cost however they can. I've learned to stand my ground and stick to "insurance covered" glasses and lenses but they always end up being my back up back up back up glasses. And somehow, I end up "needing" to pay for a different type of lens because the frames never work with lens or my prescription doesn't work with basic lens. Some random c**p like that. Today however was the last straw. Went in after getting several texts that my glasses were ready for pickup. I ended up being there for a hour because they had not enough sales people to help me but tons of folks standing around. But I understand that, your space is your space, I've worked retail. What I don't understand is that they couldn't find my boyfriend's and my glasses. And continued to question me if I came here on my own or actually got notified. Showed her my texts, her response "well I don't see them here, you will need to wait for the guy who sold them to you to come back from lunch to find it". The problem here is that it's just a whole bunch of glasses boxes wrapped in paperwork in boxes just sitting on the floor. Seemed to have no real sense of organization. After saying she didn't have any of my glasses, she found 2 pairs and still couldn't find the 3rd. We had to come back and the guy was there, but he ended up just shrugging us off and telling some other lady to look for our glasses and surprise surprise it was in some other random location where none of the other glasses were. I feel like they've been in this business long enough to not have simple pickups be so complicated. Also I can't constantly help but feel like I'm being ripped off with prices. Every time these glasses feel terrible and if I end up with a brand name one, the lenses are always terrible. I end up buying way nicer glasses with my prescription for way cheaper on eyebuydirect.com. I plan to look for a new location for this year's insurance to at least compare my experience. If anything changes, I'll be providing another update to this rating, otherwise, I'll be on my way out. Bad customer service. No greeting when I walked in, there were at least three clerks and none even look up. No one said anything to me until I asked one of the lady to let me take a look at a glass frame. They locked every drawer which it's very unease feeling because I feel bad to ask the lady to open drawer for me when I want to try on more than one glasses. After I put it on, she didn't ask me how I felt or if liked it, pretty much is that she opened drawer, handed it to me and walked away, which I don't want to bother her to open the second drawer and shop more. Last week, I went to Golden Vision to take the eye examination for my lenses. Everything had unreasonable prices. The photos of my eye cost $60 while I would have only been charged $30 at other optometries. The prices of the lenses were 150% higher than other online stores or other such places. Bad service ever. Two years ago, my husband and I bought two pairs of glasses here at different time. The lady who helped us was the same one. She tried to introduce some expensive frames. After I chose a "cheaper" one, which is till 200 more bucks, she seemed unhappy and when I wanted to ask more questions, only several words left. My husband had exactly the same experience! At that time I thought maybe all the opticals have the same service. However, I experienced two different ones in the past two years, both of them have much much better service than this one and also they charged less. So I decide to leave a feedback today. read more

I'm start have the IPL service since April, it's total four times treatments. During the treatment, there is no any uncomfortable except if some acceptable heat feeling. The doctor and assist were nice we and kind, and the last eyes massage feel good. My husband and I go to Golden Milpitas for annual check and renew our glasses. We have very great experiences each time. The doctor there is very knowledgeable and professional. The machines are advanced as well. Staffs are super helpful. Sharon helped us choose the frames every time. She is very patient and friendly. She provides good suggestions to satisfy various requirements. We spent 3 hours with her last Sunday from during noon, and she skipped her lunch to serve us continuously. During Covid-19, I would suggest to make an appointment before you go. The store is pretty prepared, as they re-layout the counters, and have the hand sanitizer everywhere. All staffs wear the masks all the time, and you will get the temperature tested before entering the store. After you try every frame, they will ensure it gets cleaned before putting the frame back. read more
