Really sad to cancel my membership but unfortunately the management is gettin so worst and see the no body care about customer service since 2018 been a member but sadly no manager or employee care .. I did some paper work to do regular membership I don't see no reason to pay extra since pandemic like I said did some paper work on June never take care of my request they just left the form by the desk still charging like black card or something like that I ask twice since is not Manager on afternoon after 6pm no regular employee can fix that so really afternoon employees don't care they sitting on top of the counter, eating they have really bad attitude .. the music to loud headache when you get out from this gym really sad .. read more

Good gym but I wish they had more aerobics class selection like Crofton, DC & VA locations. It's a shame I have to drive 40mins- 1.15hr away for a better selection (barre, areo-yoga, pilates with machines, & more weekend time selections, smoothie bar) than this location which is 10 mins from my house. read more

I have been a member at gyms across the country from Cali to NY. This was far and away the best one I have ever visited. Just moved to the area. The plan was to try 3 or 4 before picking. This was the first I visited and I signed up. This gym beats any other gym I have been to in both quality and quantity. Plenty of space. Tons of turf area. Both outdoor and indoor. More squat/power racks than I have ever seen in a gym. Awesome place. Highly recommend. read more

I give it to this Gold's cause it definitely tries. It's good they kept all the trainers from Largo Gold's. I know them and they are pretty decent people. But....you can't try to put everything under one roof....example, you got the hardcore weight lifters in one corner on the bottom floor, then you got "boxers" in the center of the facility on the bottom floor as well. You also have the hammer strength machines smack in the middle too...too much. On the second floor, you have 'track athletes' and 'football' players, running all around to the point you gotta watch out for safety purposes. Oh, and don't forget the women doing static training..overall, this place is a C-. In the summer it's okay, but when winter hits, it sucks because of the crowdedness read more

I don't know about the other gold's gym, but this place is outrageous. The so called supervisor are unprofessional and don't know how to deal with customers. The atmosphere don't feel like a gym everything just feels miserable. I signed up a day and the next I decided to canceled my membership, the same day I was charged $48.75 and that was in September until now I haven't got my refund, my cousin whom I took there already got his refund but for me instead they keep giving me wrong numbers to call. The whole place just feels like bunch of corn-artists,nobody knows how to deal with clients needs. Gold's gym capitol heights will be the wrong and worst recommendation to anyone. read more

I really enjoy this gym. It's the same price as planet fitness with more amenities like a cinema room, multiple turf & open floor planned areas to exercise. Everyone here seems to be a fitness family and have respect for each other. I will say that this gym could be intimidating for someone who has no idea how to use most of the equipment because a lot of the gym goers here are physically fit & look great already. I got a personal trainer the minute i walked into the door so that's something to consider. read more

This is a new gym in the Richie St area. They consistently have really good deals and the equipment looks nice and up to par. They also have a huge parking lot which is appreciated. That's about as far as I can review. I pulled up to this spot early on a Friday morning - about 5am to be exact and this mothafugga was PACKED. Like both floors covered in bodies. My introverted self rode past, looked in the windows and nope nope noped the fugg out of there. The last thing I need at 5am in the morning is to wait around for a machine and/or hear the grunts of bro-men as they lift their 500 million pounds. If you don't mind it being overcrowded and you love people, this is the one for you. If you're like me, you'll probably pull up, see all those damn people, hit the gas and skerch skerch the eff out like I did lol. read more

this gym is the absolute worst in terms of trying to cancel membership. I have repeatedly called and had to come in between 10am-6pm to cancel my membership, I was told I cannot cancel any other way. I went in and thought it was being cancelled but apparently it was only suspended because a couple months later I am getting charged membership fees. I call again because at this point I no longer reside in the state and yet they say the only way I can cancel is to return in person??? Yet when I made the membership it was a sunday night.. everything just seems like a scam to keep your money. the facilities are ok but I promise this gym is not worth the headache or money. read more

More dumbbells, definitely not enough for the Volume even at 25% capacity. Creating a culture of weight hoarding. Please get more weight racks and dumbbell weights and locate them around the gym. It's super annoying to walk the entire gym floor to find a dumbbell. read more

Honestly, this gym is wonderful. My favorite thing in the whole place is the cardio cinema, it's the best! They offer wonderful classes and everything is always very clean. The child care people are SAINTS. They are so patient with my son! I love it. read more

The space is too small. It's too crowded and there are not enough class options/times. I just gave up and signed up for Daily Burn on my Firestick and do workouts from home. More convenient less hassle. They also have no WiFi so I couldn't watch Netflix while I worked out. I'm saving my money. read more

Gold's Gym provides an excellent service for the area by offering free weights for individuals looking to powerlift or train in traditional fashion. The facility is clean and offers saunas, hydromassage chairs, showers, and prepackaged meals. With the popularity of this establishment, it is vital to plan appropriately. If you have items to put away during your workout, lockers are available but guests need to have individual locks. With Gold's Gym being one of the few free weight gyms in the area, the gym can become very busy making it difficult to use desired equipment. Plan accordingly by identifying the high capacity hours from the low to ensure your workout will be fun rather than stressful. During high capacity hours, large groups of people can be found rotating through the gym as an entire squad taking up space as they cheer on their mates instead of lifting weights. For those looking to vlog, post, or record, this gym is very camera friendly! Multiple bodybuilding and bikini competitors attend this gym meaning there is rarely a time when a camera is not recording inside this gym. The only downside regarding Gold's Gym outside of the over crowding during certain hours is the shot gun method their partner fitness program, Compel Fitness, uses during their FREE complementary Fitness Evaluation. Despite informing the trainer of my previous back to back reconstructive knee surgeries, I was placed on a treadmill at the highest elevation at a running pace. After that endeavor, my personal training program had to be altered to not include legs due to the intense pain shooting through my knees with every bend. The entire Fitness Evaluation focused on cardio rather than strength training which is my focus at this time. With the Compel Fitness station located at the front door, it is difficult to avoid their program. For those not focusing on losing weight or who struggle with prior injuries, I would suggest avoiding this FREE opportunity and selecting a trainer or coach who will tailor a program for you. read more

This gym has a lot of potential and everything I need as far as my workouts go. I go at least 2-3x a week and am pleased with the setup as well as the variety of workout stations. They have a massage service which is a nice touch. They do have staff that rerack the weights which sort of offsets the number of people who refuse to do it themselves. It does get super busy and crowded but there's not much that can be done about that, especially this time of year. I do get the feeling that the owners, however, are lazy, cheap, or both when it comes to improving and upkeep of the gym, which holds this gym back from being a top gym. The push button on the water fountain on the first floor has been detached for at least 2 1/2 months now which looks very tacky and can't be a hard or expensive fix, there is one machine near the corner of the gym that has had an "under maintenance" sign on it for at least 3 months. They have the cheaper, spring collar clips, which often get bent out of shape and become useless and they never seem to have enough clips for the number of barbells so oftentimes it takes 5-10 minutes to either find a pair of clips or wait for someone else to finish with theirs to start my exercise. My suggestion would be to get olympic collar clips, enough for each barbell and also get appropriate sized clips for the trap bar as it's slightly smaller than the olympic bar. There are several rubber benches that require air inflation for proper and safe use but have been deflated for god knows how long which can potentially cause injury to patrons. The stretching section could also be improved by pvc pipes and resistance bands. Kudos for having a heavy bag for people who want to practice punching and kicking, it would be great if actual boxing/fighting/self-defense classes were held there. Lastly, there are so many broken lockers, with the gym as packed as it usually is, that's not acceptable. This gym has potential to be much better if more effort was put in to actually do so. read more

So I used to work at the Golds gym in tysons and annandale va, and ive gone to a lot of the golds locations in va until one of my coworkers told me about this location. Ever since then I've been coming here to workout. I even dropped my Equinox membership ($135 a month) for this gym. The thing i love about this gym is the freeweight section. The freeweight section is huge, and they have an indoor and outdoor turf. On top of that, people are so friendly. Last but not least its only $10 a month compared to a franchise location which is normally around $40 something. What a steal! read more

Love this gym because it is spacious, high variety of work out equipment. I also I like assortment of classes that the gym provides. The only complaint is my kids who uses the kids club facility fells like it's such a tight place and it's always an overwhelming number of kids at the time we go. read more

THE MANAGER AT THIS GYM CALLED THE POLICE ON ME! If I could give leave 0 stars I would. I was a new member and was told by management when doing classes I did not have to wait in line and could check in on the app. I had been doing that for about 2 weeks, but when I went for class one particular time the manager Carissa was very rude and told me that was inaccurate and to wait and the line and that basically it was too bad if I missed class due to waiting. She was being very unreasonable, so I spoke with the class instructor instead. We worked out the misunderstanding, however the manager Carissa decided to call the police. 10 minutes into class the police showed up and class was cancelled for EVERYONE, not fair! I was escorted out and completely embarrassed. The manager also refused to give any supervisor or upper management information for me to address my complaint. The staff here are completely incompetent and inconsistent with their always changing policies. Car break ins and theft are also common at the gym. Management should be calling police for this instead. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS GYM!!! read more

After being away from the gym for the holidays, I just had an opportunity to visit the sauna in the women's locker room this past weekend (1/5/19). To my surprise, the sauna had a few pieces of tissue on the floor, and caution tape on the wooden benches (huh?) I inquired with other members about the CAUTION tape, and was told that the benches in the sauna have been in that condition since DECEMBER?!?!?!? The members of this Gym should at least be able to sit in the sauna without having to worry about falling on the floor. This Gym is fairly new, so the current condition of the Sauna needs improvement ASAP. read more

I went in to cancel in person & i was told they put it into the system. Turns out 9 months later I was still being charged... I have now sent 3 emails regarding this & have yet to get a reply. This gym has a great variety of equipment, but it's the junkiest gym I've ever seen. The weights and everything else is all over the place and never in the correct places. You literally have to go look for the weights you want. It's also super crowded in the evenings. read more

Excellent facilities but it does get extremely crowded in the evening. Best time to go is in the afternoon mid to late afternoon. Now as for the facilities the weights are all over the place and you do have to search a bit for dumbbells and plates to use as they are either laying all over the gym. It would be nice if the employees walked around and reminded people to put the weights back and if there is no one using them to put weights up. Seems the employees tend to just stand behind the counter doing nothing if their not ringing someone up for something. It would be helpful also if they had a better quality of customer service and interacte with possible new patrons. I have yet to join and am a little hesitant. It seems the continued them at this gym from other reviews are the level of customer service with the employees. Wish I could join without giving any credit to an employee. This gym appears great upon first view. The amenities are great, however it is impossible for fully enjoy the amenities because the gym allows outside trainers to come in and hog the turf and all the free weights. I've gone at various times of the day and I almost always have the same experience. The management staff was unhelpful when I voiced my concern. If you are looking for a good workout, you will get a better experience at a different gym or by signing up with one of the trainers who dominate the gym read more

All I ask for is a 24 hr gym with a ton of weightlifting/strength/conditioning equipment. This gym provides that.

I would think twice about being a member at this particular location. Management is careless and unprofessional. I decided to close my membership due to the fact that it was too risky working out in an environment where members don't wear a mask and gather in groups chatting. Yes, I care for my safety. It was so difficult to talk to the manager Brian Griffin or the assistant manager. I called SEVERAL times and was placed on long holds. You'll not be able to cancel your membership on the phone. You have to go in person or mail a letter. I even tried to schedule an appointment with the manager to to avoid a long wait the next day I went and it was no surprise he was busy working out upstairs. That tells you how unprofessional and careless they are. The assistant manager helped me out. I appreciate her help and not having me waiting. Think twice about getting a membership here. I rarely write reviews. I had to this time so other people don't go though the same thing. read more

I signed up for a gym membership at this location on 7/24/18. The entire experience was horrible. I was not greeted when I walked in. I said hello to the young guy at the corner and it looked at me as if I was bother him from being on his phone. I asked him about signing up for a membership and he just handed me a tablet. When I tried asking him questions about the different plans, he didn't answer my questions in full. I wasn't even given a tour of the gym. Once I signed, he told me I would have to provide my number each time because he didn't have any more member tags. Very disappointed. read more

My last time of even going to this gym was about late January early February 2020 right around when the Covid-19 pandemic started. At about June 2020 I contacted the Ritchie Station Gold Gym location to inform them I was terminating my month to month contract which had automatic payments being pulled out of my bank account. The manager suggested to postpone payment until things got better. I said no I want to end my membership. He clearly understood my request. Fast forward to April 2021 I'm looking at my bank statement and I see a charge for Gold Gym. I call the number provided on my bank statement to inquire why they hadn't start my membership. They said that once the restrictions for COVID-19 were lifted they started back up my payments I said that I had terminated my membership with Gold's gym Way back in June 2020 and asked them to stop. They said I needed to contact the gym I was a member of at which i told them I already did that so stop taking money out of my account. I then proceeded to call my bank to make a stop payment on this vendor. Now after giving them clear instructions on my request 1st in June 2020 and again in April 2021 they continued to attempt to bill me and now sent my account to a credit collection agency. Buyers beware of this predatory gym and make sure you document everything. read more

The gym itself has A LOT of equipment and very reasonably priced, however the head trainer there is awful. He was very discouraging and only had negative things to say about my body and fitness level (I'm 5'3", 145 lbs). Never has a trainer been this mean in an effort to make me feel forced to purchase training sessions. All in all join the gym stay away from the trainers. read more

As a victim of Domestic Violence, it one thing in this country to have to deal with the inaccuracies of how other people deal and handle it but this situation was just extraordinary. I joined this gym during COVID19 and thinking I have a chance to come but had to place my membership on hold. I restarted my membership on Dec 21, I was assaulted the first week in January and had to have surgery due to the severe nature of my injury. I couldn't cancel my membership over the phone, I had to do it in person. So I dragged myself when I didn't have bruises but still in my shoulder sling with medical documentation, to cancel my membership that I never used and never stepped foot in the gym except to obtain a key tag. I asked the manager to waive the fees and to stop the calls. Obviously I couldn't come in the condition and shape I was in, but they make you come in person to cancel the membership or email as the manager stated. I go there, explain my situation, again NEVER STEPPED FOOT TO USE THIS GYM, only had the membership and didn't have a chance to use it. They still charged me for three months because the policy states it's not usage but just because you are a member. And there's no corporate since it's a "franchise" thanks for letting me know. But your company has to answer to someone and thanks for supporting Domestic Violence Victims also. I'll be sure to pass the word through our network of how Golds Gym treats victims. read more

Being that this is a fairly new Gym and being the reincarnate of the Largo Golds Gym, I'm giving this a "fair". I've been coming to this gym for almost a year now and the way this gym operates from a management perspective is very piss poor. Don't get me wrong, this gym has everything I need. However the management team communicated to its members on closing the former gym was very abysmal. Their original "close" date of the Largo property was March 27th of this year as it was advertised on their windows. They shut down the gym a whole week early without a single notice or email to say otherwise, considering that the new Gym was packed, potentially over capacity and I wanted to work out away from the crowd. In addition, they don't even enforce their rerack policy to the members. Countless individuals at the gym (which was also a problem at the former Largo property) don't rerack their weights. The gym only has one sign that tells the members to rerack the weight. Not even an announcement from the employees over the PA to tell the members to remember to rerack the weight. To me it's annoying to have to pick up after adults when you come to a gym not to be lazy. It's not fair to the members of the gym who are considerate to others who will be using the weights. This new property has a lot of room for improvement. Improvement of management and member accountability for gym policy would go a long way for future memberships. read more

Pretty dope gym. Pros: -Large. -24/7 -They have Turf so you could do other types of exercises and cardio without being trapped to using a boring cardio machine. -Deadlift platforms, bumper plates and an large area with cushioned mat and a rope to climb to the ceiling with. -Endless weight and cable machines that you probably never seen before that can hit every muscle group. -They added more squat racks, I don't know why they thought having just one when they opened was okay, but atlas they have a lot more now. -They have nice Hoist ROC it machines that move when you use them which I think is pretty dope at keeping your muscle under constant tension and having the machine target the muscle effectively, especially their Lat Pull down machine upstairs. -They have large group workout rooms to do different kind of exercising, like crossfit. -Their bathroom/locker room/sauna have been really clean everytime I've been there. Cons: -Its like nobody has heard of reracking weights here. (Its not really the gyms fault, more the etiquette of the gym goers. Its just annoying when a meat head stacks up a machine with like 6 plates on each size and leaves it on I have to remove some of it. Not really a big deal for me, I came to lift weights anyways.) - Its kinda messy, weights and plates everywhere on the floors. -Machines placed too close to each other so you can walk past through them, you have to go around, its annoying when you go to try to get a plate and have to walk all the way around to get it. (This is mostly just an issue in the leg machine areas near the back) - This is more like an OCD thing, but some of the equipment like the benches are not aligned 90 degrees perpendicular or parallel to the line on the ceiling. I like using the ceiling as a visual guide for my bench, I usually push the bar up and make sure its parallel or makes a t with some line on the ceiling but I cant do that here cause the bench is off a little. read more

I have been a member of Golds gym ever since they opened up in the Largo MD area and now Ritchie Station. I enjoy working out at Golds, because it is my stress reliever and I love working out with my friends there. I also love the fact that this particular gym has many free weights, the turf inside and outside, sauna etc. However, I was at this particular gym on my day off this past Friday March 16. While getting ready to workout with my sister and friend, a man came up to me and accused me of freelancing out of the blue. I mentioned to him that I am not a personal trainer and I just came here to work out with my sister and girlfriend. I literally felt harassed and uncomfortable because of this accusation on me. In addition, this man threatened me and said that if I continue or if he see is me in the gym again working out with a group of girlfriends, that he would and could cancel my membership at this particular Golds gym and all the other related Golds gyms. I was very upset and spoke to the Owner of this gym right after this incident. I mentioned to the owner what happened and who the person was. The owner said he would talk to the person who came at me wrong, however; I do not know if he spoke to the person or not. I have been coming to this gym after work every now and then because it is close to my job and I have girlfriends that I like to work out with here. This person literally made the rest of my day in the gym not enjoyable. I continued to work out, but it was not for long. I never got an apology from the employee of any sort. I know the rules of the gym as far as freelancing and personal training, but I just come there to work out and once again, I am no trainer of any sort, nor am I certified to teach or instruct people. I just like to work out with friends. I have also encouraged more than 5 of my friends to sign up and get a membership at this Golds location. Therefore, for this to happen to me was not professional, rude and inconsiderate. Especially for him assuming and passing judgment on me for no reason. It is very sad that a member would have to experience this type of treatment at the gym, on an off day. Very disturbing and not a good look for this particular employee or this gym location. read more

It's a nice size gym with all weights/cardio needed. Sometimes the people up front are nice, sometimes their rude as hell. The cycle classes are rarely consistent so you never know what kind of music or ride your going to get. My biggest complaint is how dirty the group classroom floors are. I look like I played in the dirt after yoga with black mat debris, dirt from shoes, and hair all over the ground. read more
