My son broke the steel (!) shaft of his 7 iron a day before our 10-day golf trip to Palm Desert. I was referred to Golf Alley to see if they had the single used 7-iron to complete his set or get the work done. No luck on the used club, so we proceeded with the work to bore the club head and reshaft the club. We were told 2 days and told them to take 3 because we were playing a round and wouldn't be able to get back to the shop in 2 days. 3 days later, we return to the shop and they hadn't touched the club. The technician blamed the manager, even though the delivery date was clearly written on the ticket. We ended up getting the work done at PGA Tour Superstore for less money. I wish the local shop beat the giant box store, but they didn't - in terms of service, value, and delivering on commitments. Cool selection of used clubs, but I do not recommend Golf Alley for club repairs, particularly if you're on a time crunch. read more

I bought some new Mizuno 245 from my club and needed the lie angles checked as I'm 2* up and they didn't look right. Bob in the shop helped me and was spot on with his corrections after having me hit balls with tape on the clubs to make sure they were correct. Two of my clubs were correct but they all are now. This was my 1st time in this place but definitely not my last. The charge was $5 per club which is comparable to others but his service was unbelievable. read more

So every once in a while I write a five star review for a business wishing that I was able to award one small business a year with a sixth star review. I've always thought that would be something special we could do. If ever that's the case Golf Alley would be the business I would write that six star review for! Check it out, I have been to four or five different golf stores here in the Palm Springs area. I bought my wife a used set of golf clubs from another place and I just didn't feel great about them so I didn't buy anything for myself. After visiting other shops in the area we stopped in and we met two different individuals. One of the two guys was the original owner and the other young man that was helping us was I believe the son of the new owner. Let's start with the young man, after a handful of questions he looked at me and said and I quote "You're in good hands" he literally listened to everything I had to say and helped me pick out exactly what I wanted. The other guy, the original owner who has a tremendous amount of knowledge in this industry stepped in and also helped us out. The level of experience combined with customer service just doesn't get any better than this. Last weekend we went to the big giant store here off of Highway 111, I'm not going to mention their name but everybody knows who they are. We walked around staring at what they had to offer and no one really helped us out. Then when someone finally did help us they told us to come here and that's exactly what we did. This place has the best customer service, this place takes their time and listens to exactly what you need and this place has an amazing supply of used and new everything for the game of golf. If you're looking for golf balls, gloves, tees and even used clubs this place has something for you. All I have to say is that shop is awesome and if you need something please bring your business to the small family run business because not only do they deserve your business but you deserve the best and I'm convinced it doesn't get any better than this. read more

New owner was helpful and knowledgeable. He knew his stock well and immediately pulled several candidates for the club that I was looking for. I had a regrip and extension done on a used club I bought there and they turned it around in half a hour. Tremendous deals and you can try the club before you buy in the electronic bays in the back. Buying golf clubs is like buying a car. New is fun and exciting but gently used is where you get the amazing deals. We stop here at least once a year. Highly recommended. read more

And while I ended up not selling to them, the experience with Rene was great like the first time with Ty and Ron (it was Ron, not Dan -- the older gentleman with all the golfsmithing experience whom I met the first time). Anyway, at Golf Alley, Rene can personalize all your club heads by stamping your name or a special date on them. Ron can check for the accuracy of the lofts stated on your wedges, and may even bend them by a couple of degrees either way to meet your distance/loft need. read more

I'm starting to play golf, it seems like a great time great exercise. I have a friend that is going to give me lessons, I'm left handed and didn't know anyone who had left handed clubs that I could use so I we to golf alley and bought a used set of irons two drivers a putter and a golf bag. I when to my first lesson and I found ou I couldn't swing right because of my right leg. I have neuropathy mostly in my right leg and knee. Wasn't able to swing at all. I was thinking about not playing but my instructor said I should try right handed. Then there wouldn't be any stress on my right leg. So I tried his clubs and actually was able to swing the club. The next day I called golf alley and asked if I could exchange the left handed clubs for right hand clubs. The man on the phone said yes come on back in. It's only been two weeks since I bought them. They still had the tags on them. When I went back in the man looked at the clubs and said he can give me a 100.00 for them. Two weeks earlier I paid 400.00 for them granted that included the bag. But still. He told me he has a 60% mark up on club. I get it But I guess you have to pay 60% w you buy then if something happens you pay 60% to bring them back and then 70% to buy another set. I can see a restocking fee that's fine but full price to restock? I told him what I was told on the phone and he said that was somebody else and they should not h told me that. i paid 160.00 just for the irons. 85.00 and 80.00 for the driver and 3 wood and 35.00 for the putter. He offered me 100.00 for all. My math may be off a little but looks like more than 60%. Not only will I not buy another set from them they lost a customer for life. read more

Excellent place for value shoppers and for used golf equipment! They have simulators that allow you to see how the ball travels after you strike it so you are able to test a club before purchasing it. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Big fan of golf alley for several years now. It's on my way to the driving range. Perfect for gloves balls and checking on used golf equipment. Wow haven't been to this place since June and did a full facelift new ownership father son operation. I told the owner I was looking for a pitching wage that I had lost. I brought in my graphite sand wedge and he the owner picked out or four PW's and said let's go talk to Scotty in the back repair area which also has an indoor driving range with all the gizmos. After testing the tensile strength of my sand edge shaft And measuring it, Scotte proceeded to check out the other four possibilities. The one that he chose was a little short so shit he trim down the shaft added a piece to the end of it and put on a brand new pro grip like my set of clubs. All that work was done for the same price of the club as it sit in the used bay area. My husband was a bit disappointed in this place, we noticed that there was a bit of everything everywhere which made browsing a little difficult. The prices didn't vary with the brand but were based on the type of club, which made some prices unfair and ridiculous. The gentlemen that were in there were super nice and friendly, but we left quickly due to how crowded the place was. Would try to come back if the prices were more in line with the brands and types rather than just general and if the store was a little more organized. read more

Couldn't be more happy with this place. The customer service was awesome and I wish I remember the name of the gentleman who helped me. He was an older guy, originally from Wisconsin, and he really made sure I got an iron set that would fit my game. There was a big selection even though he said, "this is the lowest inventory we've had in a long time". He fitted me with clubs was very helpful and all was good for two sets of clubs. I don't want to make this to long but after taking golf lessons, driving down from San Fran. I went back to see Ron and my Girlfriend and myself both spent time with Ron and got clubs for the clubs we were missing in our bags that we use full time. Awesome selection of clubs in great condition and competitive prices from drivers to putters. Walked in and was greeted by Ben ,who when I asked a couple questions he immediately came from behind the counter and was pulling out clubs left and right for me to try out. Awesome simulators in the back which were super accurate showing everything from smash factor to club face angle . Really helped you pick out which clubs felt better to see all the information in front of your face. Ended up trading in my putter after finding my dream Bettinardi in there putter section ( everything from crazy one of novelty putters , to custom and vintage Scotty's ) absolutely awesome selection.
