I don't understand all the negative reviews. I've been in over a half dozen times and have experienced great customer service. Went in 2 days ago to shop for new irons and worked with Sam. Tried multiple head and shaft combinations to find the right fit...and all he cared about was making sure I felt comfortable in what I was hitting. Bought new irons, fairway and rescues, and had my driver fitted with a new shaft on his recommendation. Then to top it off they put all new grips on while I waited....Mike insisted I not waste a trip to come back and stayed 30 minutes past closing to finish setting up all my clubs. I made an order of a couple golf shafts that I wanted to replace before a tournament today. I chose GG because they said I would receive them by sat the 24th of October. Well, no shafts. I talk to customer service via chat. She tells me that I will have them by Monday 26th and "you should have a little patience" yes I will have patience, I'll never purchase another thing from your store again, and I'm still waiting, and the tracking system still says it will be delivered 2 days ago. I am a 20.9 Handicap senior golfer who was starting to loose distance off the tee. I decided to get fitted for a new driver. Derek hooked me up to one of their screens and I started to swing away with a few different clubs in different price ranges. The numbers from swing speed, spin rate launch angle, ball speed etc, kept pointing to the less expensive club. I was able to verify the selection by watching the straighter ball flight on the screen. He recommended a midsize grip that they installed, and I was out the door under budget. On my second round with the new driver I hit 13 out of 14 fairways with 10 to 20 extra yards on average, and posted an 84. On June 1, 2019 I purchased some protective iron covers for a trip to Arizona. In the past month I've noticed that the covers have holes in them as they are starting to deteriorate. I called the Pleasant Hill store on 10/17/2019 and was told that they were too old (5-1/2 months) to send back and that basically there was nothing they could do for me. I thanked the sales representative for their time and stated that I knew where I wouldn't be shopping in the future! My next step is to call the manufacturer to see if they will back their product which at a minimum one would think the sales person would have inquired on my behalf or suggested me doing so. Today, once again, I received such excellent and friendly service I had to write a YELP review. Jake helped us today. I have not played golf in about 10 years and am a tall woman. First I thought I should get men's clubs but they are too stiff and heavy. I ended up with a set of women's Calloways and I can't wait to get out on the course. Every trip I've made to this store I feel like I made a friend - the young women golfers who work there and play competitively - we talked about how our dads got us into golf. The young man who rang us up today and was just a delight to spend time with. He works at Diablo Creek Golf Course. I don't know if it's Covid or what but it's a great time to take the time to get to know people and share a smile and a few jokes. You will love this place. read more

He's a fantastic teacher and I encourage anyone looking fine-tune their game to book a lesson. I don't post many Yelp reviews, but it was definitely necessary to point out the great experience I had. My friend and her husband went into Golf Galaxy in Pleasant Hill, CA on Friday Septemember 13th, and were assisted by an older associate. While looking for clothes to send to her family, "fitted" her and groped her breasts. Not only did he do this, but he also kissed her neck. My friend was paralyzed with fear and later told her husband about this interaction. Earlier today my friends husband went in to speak to the Mananger about what occurred (the manager was very professional, sincere, and apologetic about the situation, kudos) informed him that said associate had inappropriately touched another woman before. A statement was filed, but I want to make sure this goes public and that something is done to stop this from happening again. read more

I was flabbergasted by the horrible service I received last Wednesday afternoon. I walked around for about 10 mins and not one sales person acknowledged me. I recognized the young lady who was there when it was golfsmith. She went out of her way to ignore me. I then trade in a gently used g25 driver and vapor speed fairway wood. The same young lady was asked by the new employees to grade my clubs and she graded them low quality. Now when it was golfsmith she NEVER rated the clubs, now I can see why. Save yourself the aggravation and go to Golfmart in Walnut Creek!!! read more

I had a good experience at Golf Galaxy in the past so I gave it 2 stars, but today's experience really made me unhappy. I went there intending to buy a new golf bag. I am a female. At first there was one man also looking at bags and a salesman offered assistance to him but not me, and I was the only other customer in that section. For the next 15 minutes while I was checking out the various golf bags, at least 4 other male shoppers came to the bag section. The salesman came over and offered the men help but ignored me. Yes, I could have asked for assistance, but at that point I was curious to see if he would ever acknowledge me. He didn't, so I left because I no longer wanted to give them my business. read more

I have to agree with previous comment. I had to patronize other means to aquire a Mizuno gap wedge due to their inept ability to order. WTH!!! I contacted corporate and complained all they assisted with was a Mizuno website that you have to have a commercial acct. with to order from. I don't know if it was his job to blow smoke up my golf shorts, but Brandon is amazeballs. I went in, he was already working with an awesome customer dude named James, but he told me he could probably help me as well. I told him I hadn't picked up a club in 6 years, but I wanted to at least get a driver that would work for my particular brand of crappy golfing. We found a used club that was twice my budget, and he even tried to get me more of a discount from the manager (no go, but I appreciated the effort - besides, the club was marked down pretty considerably.) I tested it out, and he used the diagnostic computer on me. My second drive made it to 179 feet. He was surprised that I've never been much of a golfer (4-5 full rounds in my entire life). I'm not sure if he was just flattering me, but I really loved working with him. And hells ya, I effing bought that club that was twice my budget!! He even gave me his personal cell number so I could check back in with him if I needed more help before my upcoming "best ball" tournament. Who does that?! He genuinely seems to enjoy his job, and my interaction with him makes me want to come back to Golf Galaxy again. read more

I look for a wide range of equipment choices and knowledgeable, pleasant staff to guide me through the equipment options before I decide on a purchase. Golf Galaxy has plenty of equipment to choose from. However, the service offered by the staff at this store is by far the worst I've experienced in the Bay Area. I'm getting ready for a member-guest tournament and was willing to spend plenty of $ to get ready so I can give my partner plenty to be thankful for in inviting me to his event. So, with wallet in hand, I go to Golf Galaxy ready to spend. I meet the store manager and tell him, I'm looking to get help with a Golf Tec swing analysis so I can see if I have the right clubs and shafts in my bag. I say, let's see about my driver. Then, you can tell me if my stock shafts for my TItliest AP2s are right for me or not. At this point, my thinking is, "Sales guy, I'm ready to buy anything you want to sell me. Just put me on the swing machine and let's get some data." Instead, the store manager begins to lecture me on how I'm confusing him and that I should specify whether I'm looking for help with drivers or irons. I tell him, again, let's start with a swing analysis, and then go from there - drivers and irons, depending on what YOU think. More push back follows from the sales guy: "You're not making sense, what do you want?" OK. When the guy who's job is to sell engages in an argument with the customer, I'm thinking that something is not quite right. To be fair, let's say I was completely jumbled in explaining what I wanted at the store - I think I'm being clear when I'm actually saying, "Blah, blah, and blah." So, a salesperson has two options: (1) argue with the customer and tell him/her, "You're confusing me. Make sense!" or (2) "Let's put some equipment in your hands and see where we end up." Before I went into the store, I had it in my head that I'm capping my spending at no more than $1,000 for this trip to Golf Galaxy. After my discussion with the sales manager, I end up spending $0 with the knowledge that I'll never return to this store again. Save your time and go to Golf Mart in Walnut Creek instead of amateur hour at Golf Galaxy. read more

First time here and it will definitely be my last. Walked in at 8:47 pm. Went to the practice putting green since I'm looking for a new putter. Manager on shift walked over and rudely said just to let you know we're closing in 10 min. Then I asked him where I can find the golf balls. He had this smirk on his face like you knew exactly what a pissy day he had. Then he said "new ones"? How stereotypical and impolite. No, I'm looking for your most used and beaten up golf ball that you have you prick!!! Word of advice to that manager on the evening shift on 4/4. Treat your customers with respect and stop chewing on that judgement gum. You may realize that your best customers are the least you expect. No matter how bad of a day you're having, never take it out on your customers!!! The young lady at the register was nice and almost could feel what I was feeling since she had to work with the POS herself. Asked me if I wanted to sign up for a rewards card and told her no it wouldn't be necessary since it would be my last time there. Bought my dozen balls and got the hell out of there. read more
