I great time getting fitted for irons with Mark Olaguer this past weekend. Honestly, the whole experience totally blew my expectations out of the water. From the jump, Mark was super knowledgeable and patient, but also just a really fun guy to hang out with while hitting balls. You can tell he's not just "doing his job." He is genuinely obsessed with making sure you walk out with the perfect setup. He broke down all my launch monitor numbers in a way that actually made sense, which turned what could've been an overwhelming data dump into a really cool learning session. Watching him work through different shaft and head combos was impressive. He knew exactly what he was looking for in the data, and once we clicked into the right setup, we both knew it immediately. Wish I Did This Sooner - Amazing Club Fitting Experience with Mark Olaguer! This review is long overdue, but I wanted to wait a few months after receiving my new irons (back in April) so I could write an honest, well-rounded review--not just about the fitting experience at Club Champion, but also the results I've seen on the course. I got fitted by Mark Olaguer, and from start to finish, it was one of the most fun and informative golf-related experiences I've ever had. Mark took the time to walk me through every step of the fitting process, explaining the details behind each shaft and club head combo. We tested 3 different shafts and 4-5 different club heads before finally landing on the right combination that matched my swing. I especially appreciated how patient Mark was as I kept going back and forth between setups--he never rushed me and was genuinely focused on helping me find the best fit. Now, onto the results: 10-15 yards gained per club, no exaggeration. But even more impressive is how much more forgiving these clubs are. This is my second time coming into CC Pleasanton, my fitter this time was Mark Olaguer, we went over a driver fitting, and we even managed to fine tune a putter set-up for me too. We found Cinderella's slipper with the Qi35 LS with some adjustments I would have never guessed on and an Odyssey Ai-One Double Wide. Amazing fitting and the patience and advice from Mark really helped me realize what worked for me and my swing. The final cost for the putter were under what I expected, even with some grip upgrades, and Mark even told me I can bring what I have for my driver and he will try to complete the build in house same day if possible so I can get out there and compete without a ridiculous wait and price. Disclaimer: I have not done the full bag fitting. This is a review about customer service. I had saw there was a promotion for $100 for a full bag fitting with the purchase of at least one equipment. Prior to the appointment Scott had reached out to me to gather more information. One of those questions was around budget. When I told him I was interested in purchasing only 1 club, his response was this: "To be honest with you. It's looks really bad on me from my higher ups point of view when I spend 4 hours with someone going through the whole bag when they only want to replace one club. I want to help you out the best I can but it's not fair to me to spend extra time when youre not in the market for anything else. When your ready to replace the whole bag we can do the rest of the fitting." This is probably more of a systemic issue with the whole company but basically, if the expectation for the customer is to purchase a minimum amount, then state it. Otherwise, do not penalize or deter those who are actually interested in the offer for doing exactly what the offer states. This is just poor customer service and overall bad ethics. read more

I can't believe this place.. I decided to buy my husband the $175 fitting for irons for Father's Day. I was really excited for him to go and find out what it is he needs because he's never had new clubs before and he works hard and figured this would be the best way for him to determine which ones would be best for him. He already had some clubs in mind when he went in and scheduled the fitting. He spoke with someone initially who seemed very knowledgeable. He had even hoped to have him for the fitting since he seemed to know a lot and actually hit the clubs my husband was interested in. However, he got the store manager for his fitting who managed to have him out the door with top of the line expensive MSRP set as his recommended set. I can't believe we I wasted money on this.. they don't try to work with you or your budget they just try to upsell you on everything. Very disappointing, HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND!! read more

I've had nothing but great experiences with club champion in Danville. First went there for a putter fitting a couple months ago and couldn't be more happy. Ended up replacing my Cameron with something that fit my stroke better and I've been shaving a good amount of strokes off my typical rounds. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and my wife gifted me a long game fitting for Christmas. Henry ended up doing the fitting and I cannot say enough good things about Henry. He really listened and made the fitting very collaborative. Really took the time to get me fitted into clubs that would help my gapping. I decided to get a putter fitting. It's definitely my most used club, and I had initially bought it at a golf box store based on the fact that it was short (I'm 5'1"). I didn't hate it - it works fine - but I use my putter on every hole, so if I can find one that is better suited for me, I see it as a win. So I had my putter fitting with Dylan this past week. He watched my stroke with my current putter and then looked at the specs. My random pick wasn't so far off! The length was right (32") and angles were close - but it was face-balanced and for my swing, Dylan recommended a slight-to-average toe hang. We looked at the options and pulled about 7 clubs off the wall, looking at the toe hang. He bent them all to the proper specs and I started putting. The differences were apparent and I narrowed it down to two, finally picking one. Dylan was able to cut it to the light length and re-grip it while I waited! One thing I'd like to call out about Dylan. He was fantastic. I was initially a little worried as I'm not the best golfer (though my putt is my most consistent stroke) and I'm a woman. I have been in sports-type situations where people speak down to me, but not Dylan. He explained everything he was doing and everything I asked about - without mansplaining - and even complimented my putting. I will definitely be back, likely doing my whole bag, in stages, hopefully over the next year or so. And I will request Dylan. read more

I recently got a full bag fitting at a Taylormade Performance Center last fall and am satisfied with the results, but I did feel that it could've been a little bit more refined in customization in some areas. Correction: full bag fitting except the putter. After sampling a few putters at local golf stores, I was convinced that I needed/wanted a center-mounted shaft/face-balanced putter. I almost pulled the string on buying one "off the rack" and thought why not get fitted for a putter. After all, it's the most used club in your bag during a round! I setup an appt., showed up with my putter, got hooked up to the putting monitor and was shocked with the results. It measured my address, take-back, impact and follow-through angles, but most telling was putter style based on my swing path. In addition, it found that my putter's loft was 4* loft should've been 2* (for my swing path). The measured data told me that my swing path is better suited for a 45* toe-weighted ... there goes my face-balanced putter. I liked the address setup of the SeeMore, dialed in the length (much to my surprise, shorter by 2") and sank the following 12 balls! Tried a couple other brands and kept going back to the SeeMore. Dylan Kittle was great. He is patient, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend him. Having played a few rounds with my new putter - what a difference! Huge shoutout to Yacop. Honestly was a little nervous with the mixed reviews on club champion and getting pushed or pressured into buying shafts above my budget or not needed to improve my game. My experience was the opposite for sure. Right out of the gates, we established what I was looking to get out of the full bag fitting and especially based on my budget and skill set. Ran through a variety of options and found a new shaft for my driver, ended up putting a 3 wood in my bag, and then changed the grip on my putter. It'll be some instant improvement as I work on lowering my handicap and also gave insight to what I need to change on my irons when the time comes. After comparing my options on where to get fitted, I ended up going with Club Champion to take advantage of the promo they have going on. Went in for a Complete Long Game fitting to have my gapping corrected with Dylan Kittle. We baselined the numbers with my current gamer driver and shaft which I bought off the rack without getting fitted. From there, we see the numbers and decided that I need to get more height/apex and lower spin in order to maximize carry and total yardages. Dylan started by choosing the right shaft profile, in this case a lower spin and mid to high launching shaft. After deciding the right shaft, we proceeded into choosing the right club head. Nice time to get fitted when all the new models have just been release. We tried probably around hundreds different combinations of shaft and head. I gained around 20 yards of carry and more than 30 yards of total distance with my preferred high draw ball flight. After deciding the right combination for driver and shaft, we proceeded to gapping my woods and hybrids. Dylan saw the numbers and told me to keep my current fairway woods and hybrids. Despite the reviews and bad experiences of Club Champion around the US. Dylan had no intention of "ripping me off" and even gave me the option to not purchase from Club Champion. I ended up purchasing with Club Champion as I believe in their quality of build. Have since recommended a few friends to get fitted here thanks to Dylan! Here is my experience at Club Champion. I was fitted for clubs and within 2-3 months I went back to Club champion with concerns with my driver, 3 wood, and 5 wood. I went back 3 different times because I was not seeing the performance that I thought I should see. Each time I went in, I was told the same thing "I can't put you into anything better." So fast forward a year later, I'm still unhappy with the performance of my Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood. So, I went online and scheduled an appointment planning to pay for the fitting and new shafts. When I showed up, I was greeted by Gabe. I explained that I had been back three times because of the performance of my woods. I started hitting my driver and he said the shaft on the driver was not the right fit for me. After hitting 4-5 different shafts, he got me 15 yards of additional carry. We then moved on to the 3 wood. Similarly, he was able to increase my carry distance with the 3 wood. As for my 5 wood, I have always hit it the same distance as my 4 iron. Finally, someone listened to my concerns, agreed that they were not the best fit for me, and was willing to take the time to put me into a different shaft. Bottom line, someone WAS able to put me into something better. Without me even asking, Gabe was willing to put these through as a replacement since I came in 3 times prior with performance issues. Thank you, Gabe, for listening and your willingness to stand behind your company. So why am I writing this review? I had not been contacted for over 4+ weeks. When I went in to find out what was going on, Gabe happened to be on leave. There was no record of my order. GM can't even pick up the phone and have a conversation with me. (Apparently all decisions are his) Company doesn't honor what was discussed. GM offered me 15% off my purchase, which is a joke due to the fact 10% has been the norm on any orders I've placed. This is my last-ditch effort to get some kind of rectification. There are other companies out there that I'm sure would love my business. In addition, I ordered new grips and waited 3 months-Could have gone elsewhere and had them next day. I didn't want to play this back-and-forth game with them. My final offer to them was: Get me the shafts in a reasonable amount of time 50% off on shafts I will purchase a gift certificate for full bag fitting for a friend who is interested in getting fitted. Sounds like a Win/Win for both, right? Apparently not!!! Offer still stands. read more

My custom made driver head fell off during a weekend round recently so i texted my fitter Gabe Ramirez late Saturday after my round. He responded within a few minutes to see what was going on. I told him i could drop off my club on Sunday so it could be fixed, unfortunately Club Champion is closed on Sundays, he offered to meet me there anyway ( on his day off!). I was unable to make the trip to Club Champion on Sunday, so Gabe emailed me shipping label first thing Monday morning, i boxed up the driver and shipped it to Gabe late Monday afternoon. Today is Thursday and i just got by driver back all fixed!!! What service! Now i'm able to use my driver for my weekend round!! Gabe is an excellent fitter and he cares about his clients, willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is satisfactory! I had a full bag fitting today with Dylan. The experience was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel the least bit nervous about someone analyzing my swing as much as I thought I would feel. I was very impressed with their process. They start you out using your six iron seeing what you can do. I was happy to see that the simulator represented what I see traditionally on the course with my six. I use my six for shots at about 135 yards. We went through the process of trying different club heads and different shafts. The possibilities and variety are endless. About an hour and a half later I found the perfect combination. And according to the simulator that ball is going to fly approximately 150 to 155 yards. I didn't believe it. Lol. I asked if I could take my old six out of my bag and try the swing again and sure enough 135 140 range. The clubs really truly make a difference. I love that he didn't tell me to adjust anything in my swing, the way I grip the club, or my feet position. This was not a lesson. He let me hit the way I hit the ball. This was wonderful. After we established what I'll need for my irons I pulled out my driver. I have to tell you I love my driver. And apparently so does he. I took about three or four shots with my driver and he said go ahead and put it back in the bag because that club was perfect for me. I was excited to hear that. Because I feel it is as well. He said that I'm hitting it exactly within the metrics that I should be hitting my driver. That made me feel really good. I read these reviews about people who are told they don't need another club or new clubs. And I wonder how often does that happen. Well it happened to me. Not only with my driver but with my putter. He just put it on a machine to take a little less loft off my putter. At that point I had not even purchased anything. I was a little disappointed that I didn't need a new putter because frankly my putting is horrible. Hahaha. He asked me when I putt where do I feel the weight in my feet. And I said all on my heels. And he told me I need to come forward so I am more on the balls of my feet. That's all I needed. My putts were fantastic. No more skipping when I hit it. I guess there was a little lesson. LOL. I ended up getting a full set of irons, three wedges, one hybrid, and one wood for about $4000. This included the club fitting fee as well as some upgrades thing that I did to my shafts. I'm excited that I will have these clubs for a long long time. Especially with the lifetime warranty and my ability to come in and have a tuneup on the bend they're going to put in my shafts. And I get to come in and practice on the simulator. He said it would be about 3-4 weeks for my clubs to come in. I'm excited. I'll post an update once I get my new clubs. Oh! I almost forgot. My new irons are a different brand than my new hybrid and Wood. So they truly customize what works best for you brand doesn't matter. read more

Completed a putter fitting with Miguel Feliciano. Miguel did a great explaining the process and what all the numbers mean. We made some adjustments to my putter and then Miguel picked a few putters that would work based on my stroke. Wow! What a difference. We narrowed it down to two putters and the alignment laser sealed the deal. Who would have thought that the putter shape would make you align a putter better/worse. I am writing a long term review. Late in 2017 I was fit for a set of irons at the Danville Club Champion. I was a 9 handicap in my mid-50's looking for more distance and a better flight with my irons and was fit with softer steel shafts and King Cobra F7 heads based on impressive simulation results (similar distance to when in my 30's). First I could never get used to the the feel through the set given the 4 different head/cavity designs and swing weights. Simply clunky feeling clubs. More importantly I never realized the distance and flight that the simulator reported. I hit the same distance as before with less control. I tried to to get used to the clubs playing several rounds with for over a year but it never happened. In fact my game got worse as I was trying to force these clubs to work given the investment I made and wound up giving up golf. I was told early after I bough the clubs there wasn't much that could be done, specifically if I wanted different heads or shafts. In hindsight I would have stuck with store bought players clubs that I could at least control and will do so as get back into plating. Overall an expensive disappointing experience. read more

Did my driver fitting with Derek and couldn't be more pleased. Immediately saw gains of 15-20 yards, worked through a number of shafts and several heads before settling on the magic combination. 11/03/18 Over the past year, I've made some swing changes and improved my swing speed, so I decided to go in for a new fitting. Again, a great experience. I ended up getting new irons (5-PW) and am looking forward to playing them. As the last time, no pressure to purchase, in fact, when we got my last 3 wedges, Derek said they had a lot of life in them. HIs suggestion was to reshaft with the same shaft I was getting in my irons. The shaft I was fit with last year for woods and hybrids was still the best match for me, so nothing new except some changes to my driver. Some adjustments were made to the adjustable hosel, so Derek will be resetting the PURED shaft properly. Also, he determined that the Swing Weight needed adjustment. Because the club was purchased from Club Champion, there will be no charge for either of them. read more

With the technology of Trackman he fitted my son with the perfect irons, driver, and putter. He was very patient throughout the process and didn't want us to buy a particularly brand, instead a brand that fit him. He not only helped my son get fit with the clubs, he also had taught him some on course mental strategies and how to deal with different types of situations.
