This is my second fitting with Darron DeGeorgis at Keppler's. My first visit was for complete set of Ping irons. Wonderful experience. I wanted to look in to replacing the "top" of my bag. I scheduled an appointment with Darron. A very simple process with Keppler's. I went in ready to remake my driver , 3W, 5W and possibly the hybrid set up. Keppler's Ask that you only bring in the clubs you are looking to be fit. Darron had the hitting bay set up quickly, and after a warm up, we started. I hit my current driver, usually 4-5 hits at a time. Darron evaluated the results and started to calmly make changes to my driver head and shaft. He also had me hit 2 different "new" Ping drivers and evaluated those results. Darron then had me hit my 3W and 5W. He liked the numbers, but made some loft adjustments on each and I was hitting them well. He had me go back to hit my current driver with a Ping shaft change. That was the correct set up for where I am currently. Bottom line, I was ready to replace three to five clubs. I was VERY satisfied with a shaft change , along with some setting tweaks. I was hitting the driver much better than when we started, and have even more confidence in my 3W and 5W. If, your goal is to be in the best equipment, fit for you, go see Darron. came in for a golf regrip and left in like 7 minutes tops. they had a bunch of grips to choose from and select from and made it easy to select what works for me. it was relatively cheap too and the service was fast. if i decide to regrip my clubs again i will come back here read more

Really wanted to like this place. Heard good things about it from my dad and a buddy, but they only had basic things done here. I got a fitting which was the only good part. Darron is a nice guy and very knowledgeable about what he does. Got me sorted out with clubs I enjoyed. That's where the good ends. I ordered a full set of irons, a few wedges, wood, and a driver. The irons had to be shipped which is normal, but the wedges were used wedges that needed to be bent a little bit. They gave me the option to wait a bit and take them home same day or come back and pick them up with my irons. I figured I could just wait for the irons. They called me they were ready, went to pick them up. Oops we forgot the wedges hehe! Just come back tomorrow nbd! Yeah man nbd, I'd love to drive 40 minutes out here again to pick up two wedges that should've been done 2 weeks ago. Go back the next day, they have the wrong grips on them. (Forgot to mention they had the wrong grips on the irons as well) I did change them on a phone call a week before, but it was still written down. When I was visibly disappointed my grips had been wrong twice + having to drive back another day, they were like "shucks my bad" no other compensation was offered without me asking. Came back for a refitting because I wanted to adjust my lie degree on my irons, again Darron was fantastic. Great guy all around 5 stars for Darron. Thanks to him alone, I got a great set of clubs I love. Had my irons changed a few degrees and asked to have 2 clubs regripped because I wanted to try MCCs and MCC +4s. Again they messed this up and gave me 2 normal MCCs. Not even gonna waste my time going back to get it fixed, going anywhere else. So my advice for any1 that decides to shop here, double and triple check everything you have done, because there's pretty much no quality control. The best part is they have like 10 people working there at all times and the ones roaming around are always nice seeing if you need anything. But the people that actually help at the counter are always somehow immediately annoyed the second you ask them to do anything. Old bald guy with glasses looked like I just kicked his dog before I even opened my mouth. Just go to PGAsuperstore, golf mart, galaxy, anything but here. Their return/refund policy is much worse, their prices are higher than other places, they have less selection of clubs, and besides from their fitters, their customer service is terrible. I can't comprehend how this place has good reviews. I am not a difficult customer by any means and am more of a pushover if anything when it comes to demanding service when they do something incorrect. Spend $3k here and they'll treat you like you're a burden to them for asking for basic services such as adjusting the lie on your irons or having them regripped. Absolutely wild work. read more

I have been getting my grips done here over the years, and unfortunately will be shopping elsewhere going forward. I wanted to try the new Golf Pride "Align" grips, and had heard about issues with golfers going to other shops and having them installed incorrectly, causing swing issues. The first issue is the price. Kepler's is about 15% more expensive than other local shops, but given that I thought they specialized in grips, I figured it was worth the cost to ensure correct installation. The second issue is the service. Upon arriving at Kepler's, I asked how they ensure the grips are perfectly straight, and the gentleman said, "We've been doing this for 40 years." I asked if they had any equipment to ensure they are perfectly aligned, and he said that doesn't exist, which is incorrect. Other stores in the area have lasers and jigs to ensure perfect alignment and installation. I figured I would do it anyway, even though it's more expensive, and they are basically aligning them by "eyeballing it," as they told me. The third issue is the installation. When I went to pick up my grips, several of them were twisted, and the Align line was veering off to the sides. I pointed out the installation issues, and they said, "Everyone's eyes are different," and started arguing with me about whether they were aligned or not. They ended up fixing the alignment after I pointed out the exact issues, but overall the grips still seem off in several areas. Going forward, I'll be going to another local store that has friendlier service and actual alignment equipment to ensure the grips are installed correctly. read more

I went in to get a wedge regripped and was immediately greeted by someone behind the counter who attended to my need. However, while I was waiting and browsing, I started looking at hybrids and Jason asked me to give one a try. He was very helpful and I ended up buying a used Taylor Made M2 4-hybrid from him for $50, plus he put a new grip on that one, too. Very pleased that he didn't try to talk me into getting a new $300 club like many shops might. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Reasonable prices. If I'm back in the East Bay nearby I will stop back in. read more

Kepler's Golf in Walnut Creek has a great family-type atmosphere and is the kind of place where they genuinely get to know their customers. I was first referred there years ago by a fellow golfer, and since that first visit I've been a regular customer and have also referred many of my golfing friends there over the years. It's a comfortable shop with people who clearly care about helping golfers improve their game. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to spend the time helping you find the right club or shaft for your swing. In my experience, their shaft selection is one of the best I've come across. They also have all the equipment needed for excellent club fitting and really work with you to match the equipment to the way you swing and play the game. Whether it's dialing in the right shaft, doing repairs or making adjustments, they have all the right tools and experience to get it done right. You can tell they've been doing this a long time and take pride in what they do. It's one of the best golf shops around, and every time I go in there I leave feeling confident about the equipment I'm playing. read more

Even my PGA Pro coach recommends them as the only place in the area he'd trust his clubs to, if he was in my area. I did a driver fitting with Kyle Beard and could not be happier - not only with the driver, but with the time, insight, care, and methods used to develop a product recommendation. Only downside is everyone in the area knows about Kepler's...so they are often really busy. Which means if you're thinking about booking a fitting you gotta reserve the time well in advance. But it's worth it. I get the sense every time I'm in there that they have seen so much and done so much work over the decades that there may not be anything they haven't seen before. Oh and one last thing...I'm not a great golfer. I'm an aging older guy who used to have a respectable game for a hot minute, but then stayed away for the better part of a decade. Now that I'm trying to get a swing back, I was sort of wondering if these guys would feel a certain way about fitting a hack. Nope, they were patient, respectful, accommodating, and I never felt they were talking down to me or treating me in any way. And I'm really thankful for that too. read more

I scheduled an iron fitting with Chris, and it turned out to be more of a coaching session -- exactly what I needed. Chris was extremely helpful and never pushy about selling anything unnecessary. Instead, he took the time to explain the data, make adjustments, and even bent a club for me to trial. I was fitted by Darron for new shafts on my irons, woods and Driver. I recently hired a new coach and he wanted Darron to fit me for shafts that would assist in my ball flight. This process took a lot of time testing different shafts on the monitor to achieve this goal. Darron's professional fitting expertise assisted in achieving what my coach and I sought. There are so many shafts to choose from. But as Darron explained the shaft is the engine to the club. So it was a process of trying different shafts , which included different brands , weight , tip .... The proper shaft fitting will assist me in achieving my goal. Keplers is well known for its advice and club recommendations. I felt that the person who helped me with golf selection was a bit biased against women. I felt very uncomfortable going in for my first fittings as the other salesmen gave a condescending vibe until I spent a boat load for my irons and woods. I had no choice to purchase my clubs there because of a gift certificate that I received. What other clues gave it away? The U.S. women's open golf tournament was on and they were showing men's tennis on their TV screens. read more

The best golf club repair for many years. I have done many re-shafts to better match my swing (driver & fairway woods). And many re-grips on all my clubs through the years. Now my son is wanting to take up golf, so they customized an ambidextrous Ping putter for my then 5 year old so he could figure out if he likes lefty or righty. Completely do not understand the high ratings. Twice I've brought clubs in for repairs. Both jobs were done incorrectly. The first: shaft replacement on gap wedge. They got the shaft length wrong even after showing them the sand wedge length. Second repair: pitching wedge shaft replacement. They failed to glue the shaft to club correctly. Club came loose after using a few times. Both times, the Kepler staff seemed defensive. Not apologetic at all for their mistakes. Do not like their attitude nor work ethic! read more

I've been playing golf for a little over a year and this was my first ever fitting experience. The inside was a very place with everyone being very welcome. Pablo was the gentleman that helped me and was amazing. Found the right shaft and which Taylormade Qi10 head was right for me. He was very helpful and even helped tweak my swing! Probably one of the best experiences I've had in a golf store yet. First day in, Audra helped me out when I was looking at the Mizuno irons. She set me up on the front simulator and I started hitting them against my 7 iron. Love the clubs. But... I was hesitant to setup a fitting. (I've never had 1 lesson/fitting, just fit my clubs to myself after gaming a bunch of sets the last 5 years. 9.4 index) But-- I said screw it, let's do it. After all it's only $100. lol She got me squared away, thanks Audra. Coming in to the fitting I was nervous to hit on the simulator. Always thought I needed to see ball flight to fix my issues or strike it solid.. not the case. Came in to the fitting with Chris, and man. What a solid dude. Felt like i was a kicking it having a beer with a golf coach. After a couple strikes with my irons, he saw some swing issues, and I basically got a free lesson with this fitting. Minor grip change and path adjustment & I was putting my 7 iron 175-190 carry, 20.2 launch, 97club speed, 130 ball speed. He didn't try and sell me on clubs, he didn't put a bunch of different brands in my hand, which I would have saw through. He was just a super solid dude and knew the tools I already had, were good for me, just needed some adjustments. We bullshitted back and forth while hitting, but man, I can't explain enough how much I felt like I learned in this fitting/ got out of it for the value of $100.. Wild. Broke a leg on my Taylor made standing golf bag. Wasn't sure if I could get the leg replaced or had to buy a brand new bag. I spoke with Doug and he was able and happy to get connected with a contact to see what he could do. Since the bag is still under warranty, Doug's contact said they could get a new bag to replace the broken one. This review is for the know-nothing-know-it-all 6 year employee. I came in asking for a certain grip in a certain size. The employee, with a mouthful of food, confidently asserted that the grip doesn't exist claiming "I've been here for 6 years and I've never seen it". After a brief back and forth in which I told him not only the grip exists but I have purchased it from keplers in the past, I attempted to show him the grip on my phone. He wouldn't even take a break from his feeding to look up. 3 other employees stood by in silence as this episode unfolded, apparently just as ignorant. What concerns me here is two-fold: 1. The incredibly awful service 3. The incredible lack knowledge Would you trust these folks with your clubs? Mr Kepler, please train these hapless souls. read more

Had an exceptional putter fitting with Brady. Reviews and reputation are exceptional for Kepler's so this will read as repetitive. Tried 10ish putters in my budget and got 90% there, Brady offered up the ever popular Lab putters to try (slightly above budget). found marginal improvement but he kept pushing and found an off the rack odyssey setup with exceptional numbers and feel for me costing $200 less. Couldn't be happier! read more

I think this is my first review ever, but Keplers is so good I just had to say something. I've completed my second fitting at Keplers with CHRIS. He really know his stuff and was able to dial in my swing and give me confidence in our shaft selection. Once we found the one, instead of making me buy it on the spot, he offered to demo it out for me for a week to test it on course. Prior to the fitting, they also let me demo a similar ventus shaft at no cost for a few weeks. I can't tell you enough how much that meant to me, especially when paying upwards of $350 a shaft. Also worth noting- My iron fitting a few years ago, also with Chris. I had come into the fitting having golfed 5 days in a row and by the team I saw Chris he could tell I wasn't physically 100%. About 30 minutes in he told me, "hey, get some rest and come back tomorrow morning, I'll open up early for you...". Again, this level of service is unmatched. I'll recommend Keplers to anyone and everyone over any golf store. Thanks! read more
