After years of dropping by, and not talking to any competent help, I decided to be part of the solution, instead of the problem. I tried to get a job there, not as a golf pro, but as a person with vast knowledge and experience in clubs, sales, and some fitting. I couldn't even get to the interview stage because I wasn't willing to commit to the almost minimum wage requirements they wanted me to work for. You get what you pay for, and this golf store has gone the way of most Auto Parts stores. No longer are the guys super knowledgeable...now they are young guys and girls who no nothing about golf, but know how to hang clothing and run a register. I had a bent Scotty Cameron putter and it was driving me crazy. I called Golf Galaxy and was greeted kindly on the phone and Neil told me to just come on in and he would take care of it. I live an hour away and when I got there Neil and Nate were very friendly and took care of my putter right away. Less than $10 to fix and great service. This is probably the 6th or 7th time in Golf Galaxy and the first time I have ever received quality customer service. Previously was told by a sales associate they did not carry youth shoes. Today, Meredith was a big help finding a good fitting shoe for me and my 10 year old son. The youth selection is small (5 choices). The ladies wide selection is even smaller. Meredith even went so far as to pull the FootJoy Catalogue and research wide sizes on line. I did purchase 2 pairs of shoes. One for me and one for my son. I Love coming to this store! Whenever I need anything related to golf, I come here. I recently went in for new spikes for my shoes, and the service was terrific. They have promoted some of their associates to the manager position and the service has improved greatly. I would recommend anyone in the Rosevill area to visit this store if they have golf or accessory needs. They will price match online prices if you want them to, which might save you some cash on select items. I just wish they had more items from previous years supply. read more

I am just getting back into golf and wanted to get another opinion on purchasing a new set of clubs. I'm a tall person and can't buy off the shelf, so needed information on getting fitted and what clubs would be able to be made for me. After finally tracking someone down, they showed me what I had already seen on the wall, made a few comments and left as soon as he possibly could loose. Compared to service that I received at a pro shop in at a larger course, this was really second rate. I ended up buying a custom set at the other location, mostly due to service received. To be fair, I don't know if the person I talked to was overworked, understaffed, or just had his mind on something else, but first impressions are important. I'd give one star, but the store was well kept and seemed to have a lot of product there to buy. Just know what you want and don't expect a lot of help. read more

Tried to redeem gift cards on a Golfsmith website that Golf Galaxy uses and communicates even new Golfsmith locations, then, found out can't use gift cards, Golf Galaxy should be banned from using the Golfsmith Website and not honor customers with Gift cards, when I Brought this up to the employee she felt embarrassed. read more

I had ordered a set of the Callway Rogue Pro Blacks after going into the Golf Galaxy shop in Roseville, CA. Craig was very helpful in getting me fitted and making sure the club heads were bent to the correct angle and such. It was a great experience. The clubs were delivered to my house and when they got there they had delivered the incorrect clubs. There is a Rogue Pro Standard (Metal/Steel) club and there is the Rogue Pro Blacks (club head is black). While I was bummed and ready to play when the clubs came, I knew I had to make the drive over to Roseville to get things corrected and redelivered. Not a short drive for me from Cameron Park. I wasn't upset (things happen right), but bummed to know I would have to wait for another set to be delivered. I was worried that when I got there I would get the run around (oh, that's between you and Callway now). It was nothing like that. The manager in charge (Nathan) came up from the back, took my order as I explained what had happened. He was very professional and kind. No games. He was back in about 10 minutes with a new work order making sure the word (Blacks) was written on the order. I thanked him and walked out. When I got home I realized my Pro Blacks were $200 more than the clubs they had written me up for. Nathan had crossed out the price and gave the clubs to me at the price I paid for the Rogue Pro Regulars. He didn't even say a word about the discount. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised, as well as impressed with the way he handled that. I really didn't expect to get those clubs at a discount, but that was his way of making things right. Let me tell you, this company is very interested in selling golf equipment to their customers and are willing to do everything it takes to make that customer happy. I really like their golf simulator and they have a nice selection of new and used clubs. The downside is their terrible customer service, I have always disliked the people at this store they always ask if you need any help,But when you ask them for services or advice they ignore you. All they care about is sales commission. Just recently I was told on the phone a price for adjusting just 1 golf club out of my set and to show up any time at 2:00 pm. When I got there I had to wait 45 minutes to see the guy I talked to on the phone. He then told me he won't help me do a club fitting and the 5 minutes it would take to help me is time he could be working with actual customers! Some of their male staff consist of arrogant people who won't give you the time of day unless your buying a 1000 dollar set of irons. read more

Do not go to this golf galaxy, I felt very rushed in my process in finding a new fairway wood. First off I asked if I could try the Rogue fairway wood and a kind of short and bald guy replies with "so are you planning to buy this today" with a very aggressive tone. I reply with "no I'm just trying it out and seeing how I like it" the man further replies with "Well, we do rent out these stalls for $20 for 30 minutes." I was not trying to practice I was wanting to try out a product that I may want to purchase in the future. I own many stores in the area (none of them golf Galaxy) and I tell them if a customer wants to try something, let them without any problems and make them feel welcomed. I also saw this man act a similar way towards 2 young men. I was surprised at the level of rudeness towards them. I also had a putter grip put on (super stroke 2.0) and not only did they put it on crooked, but it came off on my first round with it (two days later). I brought it back to tell them that I came off and they refused to even replace the grip that I originally payed for. In my opinion they have many staffing issues that they should work on and no one should come to this golf Galaxy. read more

My wife bought a $100 gift card for my birthday at GG Roseville just a week ago. Being that I did not need anything golf related I went into the store with the receipt to get the cash back to buy the Birthday gift I wanted elsewhere. I was told they would not refund my money held by them. I contacted the corporate office and was told emphatically that they would keep my wife's money. The customer service person would not let me speak to a supervisor and repeated over and over that GG will not refund $ for a gift card purchase and I could speak to whoever and it would not matter. They said the policy is on their website. Well how many shoppers log onto the internet and a store website while at a register,to check out the gift card return policy? It was not stated to my wife not is it stamped on the receipt. That is the most absurd thing I or my wife have ever heard of. I have shopped this store since it's opening about 15 years ago. Bought many items over the years. Golf Galaxy has no desire to do the right thing for customers. She could have purchased any $100 worth of items and with the receipt gotten her money back, but with a gift card they justify screwing the customer. Won't ever go back to buy a thing here, and I will be sure to will tell everyone I know in this community about GG's treatment. Too bad as I like the manager Neil and some of the long time staff members, but this relationship is over. I will have to stand outside of the store one Saturday and ask people if they are planning to spend at least $100 that day and see if they would like to buy a gift card. Drive to haggin oaks!......first and foremost up til sept of 2014 I Was a loyal golf galaxy customer and living less than a mile from this store was very conveinent. Having purchased many clubs including recently a $250 3 wood I was completely taken back by manager DILLON (who was standing in front of the store smoking when I arrived) should have taken that as a omen. Explaining to and showing him my 5 day old receipt on a $300 + driver which I used one time that wouldn't hold it's position in a draw setting (which is why I bought it for all the adjustability) I'm by no means a pro golfer but about a 12 hdcp guy who looks for a good deal and value before making a big purchase. Well during the scramble I had played in the day before this club kept loosening .....and would only tighten in a crazy higher loft slice setting...I didn't ask for a refund just a different club that I wouldn't get stuck on the course loosening every hit. Well much to my surprise ...I was told" that buying a driver was like buying a car once I leave with it it's my problem!"...and now I plan to call the manufacturer. But is this the way you handle customers?...especially having spent $600 on 2 clubs in the past month? Golf galaxy and especially their management DO NOT stand by their products or their customers at all...that was my experience and I think was unacceptable....rather than replace or allow me to get something else and maybe make things right by the customer Dillon and golf galaxy took my money and the one time I needed some assistance left be holding the bag..or in this case the driver. I had a great experience at Golf Galaxy. They had a wide selection of clubs in stock, test area, and very knowledgable and helpful staff that coached me through four different club purchases. I was very impressed with how thorough a process it was in that they compared four different competitor clubs during each of the different club needs I had (3 Wood; Hybrid, Wedge; and a putter upgrade). I bought a set of irons from this location this past week, and I was very disappointed with the customer service when I went in to pickup my clubs. The guy that sold them to me a few days earlier (Wes) was helping other customers and didn't seem to enthusiastic that he had to re-engage with me, I'm not sure how their process works, but I would have been happy to have another associate assist me , since I wanted to hit the new sticks on their in store simulator. However not one single person that worked there said Hi, smiled, or even attempted to assist me and I counted 4 other employee's walking around chatting among themselves. After Wes retrieved my clubs I started hitting them on an open simulator. After about 6-7 minutes I had to go get Wes's attention to turn on the darn thing. He didn't offer an after sale review of what was done to the clubs, how they feel or perform as I hit the new set up?? I've shopped in a lot of Golf specific stores and this is the first one that I left wishing I had spent my money elsewhere. Needless to say I wont be going back. read more

i was very disappointed with the level of customer service at this location. I've been to other golf galaxy stores and they have always been helpful. i went in on a weekday evening to avoid the crowds. store was empty, it was me and two other guys. although couple of the workers said hi, they were not helpful. when asked if I could get fitted for a putter, I was told to come back another time. I was very surprised that they would turn away business, especially when the store was empty. I guess I will be shopping elsewhere for my golf clubs in the future even if it means driving further away. read more

I just returned home from Golf Galaxy. I was told over the phone by Roberto, that they would price match a club and honor a $10.00 off coupon I had. Roberto told me at least twice, if not three times, that they would honor the coupon and match the price. I drove out to Roseville, asked for the club, was told by Neil(Roberto's boss) that they would match the price, but they would not honor the coupon. I explained to Neil(while he was walking away from me)that Roberto had ok'd the use of the coupon. I got, "I'm sorry." in return. I also explained that I had driven some distance. Roberto was coming from lunch as I was leaving and he asked who would not honor the coupon. I told him and he said, "He's my boss." Golf Galaxy lost a sale over $10.00, lost a customer for the life of their buiness, and created a person ready and willing to give their customer service a grade of "F". read more

Do not, and I mean do not shop at Golf Galaxy Roseville, I have never experienced such terrable customer service in my life. After recieving a gift card for my birhtday I shopped for a golf bag, once purchased I had found out that my putter would not come out of the putter well, after 3 trips and over 9 phone calls to management they would not take the bag back and after having the district manager get involved I was finnaly able to get the correct bag, Rude isn't even the word for the treatment that I received from management. My all time least favorite place to go to now. They were very rude as soon as i walked through the entrance. I was greeted with Hello. I walked to the bathroom and when i came out i got this very dirty look from a tallish average man, he was bald and kind've on the bigger side, i asked to try a M2 Fairway wood and he told me, "are you gonna buy a fairway wood?" I replied with no, not today i have been looking for a fairway wood and need to get one soon. He followed up with "well, you have been coming in here a-lot, so you can either leave or rent a stall. I will let you hit for about 5 minutes but thats it." I said ok. He came back and handed me the club and walked away, after i was done he grabbed the club from me, I was shocked. None the less a buddy of mine walked in and asked to use a club that i used, he said the same thing to my friend and my friend also asked him a question but refused to answer. His reply was "Your trying to stall with me buddy your not the only one thats tried that stupid trick on me I'm not dumb." he said. After this we both left and think not only people shouldn't come here he should also be fired. This is very unacceptable customer service. Also when i came in to get a club re-griped and when i swung my club the shaft and head came completely out and flew into the pond. I went it for a refund the next day (keep in mind i only had my grip for a week) and when i told them this they almost laughed and told me no sorry buddy. left a club for repair at Golf Galaxy in early January. After no communication from Golf Galaxy, not one call, and after 2 trips to the store and not one associate able to give me any information on my club other than they will make some calls and call me, which they never did. Now April 2nd and I call the store once again inquiring about my club and they tell me it's fixed and ready -- what? No one called me! ever! Funny thing is the 2 times I actually went into the store to inquire about my club the sales associate said both times, "wow this is so unusual, we always keep in contact with customers that leave clubs for repair." This was the same dude that took my club in January and who I spoke with on the phone and who I spoke with in person both times!!!! And this is not the first time this has happened - the exact same thing happened 4 years ago with my driver for repair! Took 4 months and not one phone call and no associate ever knows whats going on! I had a great experience there. Even though I didn't buy my R11s woods there, they took the time (about an hour) looking at my swing and getting the ideal setting. I was surprised that they didn't charge to do this (Haggin Oaks said they would charge $40 for this same service although I have nothing but good things to say about their staff as well). Contrary to what the other posters here have said, Neal was actually really helpful and accommodating and spent a lot of time going over the specs of the different shafts, swing speed, ideal launch angle and ball spin. Definitely would go back and will recommend anybody I know to check them out first. Huge selection and their virtual simulator is dead on accurate with distance and trajectory. read more

Went to the Golf Course shop off the 80, and spent 1/2 hour without a single staffer even coming up to me to say hello. It wasn't even busy, I guess I didn't fit their mold, so I went to Golf Galaxy. I was greeted within 2 minutes, assisted in section, sized, tested, grips size completed in less than 2 hours. The non-standard irons were available in 2 days. Great price, excellent service, was able to swing whatever I wanted to swing, and the club builder did a great job on my irons. The price was also fantastic. A great alternative to the pro shops at the golf courses. read more

Postsrcipt re trade-in: Haggin Oaks offered me $84 for the trade-in of my Nike Machspeed Driver despite the smudge, and I ended up buying a $224 Taylormade 2.0 FastBurner driver as well as $195.00 of Nike golf wear. That's where I will be shopping for my golf gear from now on. The Golf Galaxy store had great enthusiastic and helpful employees but their manager Neil was a bad apple. WOULD PUT NO STARS IF IT WERE POSSIBLE. My experience with golf galaxy was extremely disappointing and horrible!!!!!!! I ordered a club online ship to store for my bfs birthday and they sent the wrong club! Thats fine mistakes happen right? WRONG I called and finally put the correct one on hold to pick up after work,after having to deal with a very rude associate on the phone who was disinterested and had no sense of urgency for their companys mistake! I got off work, (living in foresthill over and hour drive one way).I was promised the sale price I order it for ($89.99) Arrived at the store at 9pm and went to pick up the club, they put yet again the wrong one on hold!!! The manager grabbed the correct one and I explained the situation, he then proceeded to charge me full price (129.99 was 147.99 after tax!)on the club after several mistakes, extremely rude customer service and ignorant sales associates that guarenteed me the sale price I originally ordered it for, the manager never even apologized!! WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!! ALSO CONTACTING CORPORATE TO FILE A LEGAL COMPLAINT AGAINST THE BUSINESS. Thought I'd update my review based on my experience last week. So the guys I play with at whitney oaks ..one being a guy who played on tour for years recommended I go see Shannon for all my needs. I was having issues getting my 3 wood in the air and irons spraying a bit. The guy was one of the only pros I've met in quite awhile that really took the time to explain what is causing my issues and two options to either fix it or go to a different shaft in my irons. In the meantime he fitted me to a 3 wood and rescue and I went from 3 wood to 225 our to now 3 wood 255 plus. I played Sherwood yesterday and on two hit 3 wood from 255 uphill to 9 ft. The club is just straight and now I'm convinced he could help me on my swing. I'm a scratch and haven't had a lesson in years since college golf 18 yrs ago and can say if I decide to start taking golf more seriously he'd be a guy I could trust for swing mechanics.. fittings... or just about anything. Based on my experience with him he's going to be my go to for anything. read more

well i will start by saying wow! and not in a good way. i went to golf galaxy to have a putter grip put onto my putter (grip and tape already removed) and stood back at club repair for 20 minutes and had to walk up to front cashier to ask for help and was told i dont know if there is anyone there to just stand back there and wait! so i did and then the store manager (merideth i belive was her name) i asked if i could get the grip i picked out installed and she asked me if i could leave the putter for *2 days* i said i did not want to because i needed the club but that i had the grip and tape removed so that it would not take long. well she proceded to point at all the clubs on the counter that someone had to get done and that it would not be fair to them! now i understand if i was asking to have 13 clubs gripped in front of other people she would have a point but 1 club that already has a grip off of it and tape removed should take 60 seconds and the store makes $30.00 on the super stroke grip and few bucks for labor right! so when i brought up that it would be quick and even offered to do it myself while she watched, she said i quote "I GET IT YOU ARE MORE IMPOTANT THAN EVERYONE ELSE" ok i work in customer service and i dont think i was asking for to much but now not only have you lost the $35.00 you have lost all of my business and its a shame because i work very close and would spend alot of money there as i have at haggin oaks in the past because i worked closer to haggin oaks. recently i have moved to roseville (now at automall) but if that is how you treat customers i will drive to haggin oaks! i have left messages with multiple peaople in hopes to talk to someone above Merideth but have not recieved a phone call back so this is why i am writing this review so someone can handle this! **on a side note there were high school kids in the store as well that the same manager was scolding for going in and out of the store to much! if i were the owner i would want to know that this manager is costing me alot of money and when i mentioned something to another employeeon my way out to see if there was someone else i could talk to he did not seem suprised that the manager treated me this way! read more
