I would give this place a better rating but something rubbed me the wrong way here. I dont know if its the location (since its seriously off the freeway)or just a bad experience. I came here last year with my bf and our roommate, on a discount night. It was okay i mean it was my first water park experience and it was for me a little starter for wet n wild. The lines were long which i get but we only got to do 4 things and the area seemed a little dirty. But hey it's a place wth kids. Since we went on splash night we paid less than the original price. Came in last night around 7:30. Asked if we could get a discount on the 3 hours for unlimited golf, go carts, and wanted to add on the arcade games. The worker told us the wrong price at first and said he couldnt give us a discount that we asked about since the park was not going to be open for another 3 hours.. which was fine. Then the printing machine broke and we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for our wristbands to print which one never did. So now we only had 2 hours to play games, go cart and golf. At 9:30 we tried to go golf and they would not allow to us golf a few holes for the 30 more minutes they were open... terrible customer service. Definite waste of $103. My kids (ages 8 & 11) and I visited Golfland-Sunsplash during fall break. Their fall special package was very reasonably priced and gave us unlimited access to go carts, bumper cars, bumper boats, mini golf and laser tag. We had such a fun time! The facility was very clean and the staff was friendly. The miniature golf course was decorated nicely for Halloween and the grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. When we went it was not very busy so it was easy to enjoy the attractions with little to no wait time. read more

Had a blast with the family. We took advantage of their special for $5 for an hour of unlimited arcade play. The kids (and myself) loved it. They have a great mix of old school games for me (Ms Pac-man, Frogger, Paperboy, etc.) and newer games for the kids. Don't normally play the driving games because of the cost, but with 4 player games, the whole family could race against each other. Only down side is the water park not being open, but I totally understand, we travel during school times of the year, and they can't keep it open just for me. Pretty nice place to send an evening, no matter the time of year. I went tonight for mini-golf. The courses are nice but unfortunately some areas are poorly lit. Also one hole was missing the actual green, it was just concrete. Otherwise, there are three mini golf courses; each with their own little theme. The only really bad thing is that it's easy to lose your ball in bushes or water. I suggest they install barriers to avoid this. The water park portion is very nice. Lots of slides of varying sizes. Lines can be long but that's a given at any place on a weekend night. read more

I've always loved this place as I was growing up. Make sure you devote a good day to everything if you want to go. Especially if you go in the summer time since it can get incredibly crowded and the lines can get long. I'd recommend trying to go during the week or spread out when you go because it is very hot in AZ and this place does attract a lot of people to try and get away from the heat. read more

They park is fun and we have been season pass holders for a couple years now. I'm rating it 2 stars due to their recent changes. You can no longer enter at the water park. If going there for the water park, which is all we do, you now have to enter through the Arcade and get your wristbands at the main entrance. Then you walk past several of the mini golf course holes in order to get to the park. There isn't even a separate walkway! Also we learned there is no line for pass holders like there was in the past. So now we must wait in line with everyone who is purchasing day tickets in order to get our wristbands. Very poor decision by management, especially with the elimination of the line for pass holders. You may still exit the old entrance, so they still man the gate, but then you must go around the other (long) way to get back to the water park. It is clearly a push to get people to use the other portion of the park, but it seriously inconveniences their guests. I hope they see they're mistake and change this policy,. read more

This place is not even worth the 1 star. Rude and useless employees. First off this place was dirty and very unorganized. No direction what so ever. We basically had to guide ourselves through each ride because no one was helpful. There was a confusion to what inner tubes go to what slide. On one slide when I got to the top there were no lifeguards sitting at their post and weren't paying attention to people getting on the slide. They just sat there with a blank stare and didn't help guide us to when we could down the slide. Secondly the customer service at the food court was an F. I get it's a food court and there are tons of people and it's hot BUT at least greet with a hello and be helpful with questions we have. I HAD to greet the cashier with a hello and got nothing back from her. She just stared at me with a blank stare which was very rude. The food was inedible, I have had better food at my elementary school. Lettuce had black spots, Cesar salad was hot and tragic. Chicken fingers was very hard and very hard to chew. I've been to Sunsplash in Roseville, California and I honestly have nothing to complain about; the food was great for what it was and the service was amazing, unfortunately this location was absolutely horrendous. I would not recommend traveling down to this location if you're not from Mesa. You're better off spraying yourself with a hose. read more

This place is seemingly run by a high schoolers because nobody could give me a straight answer when I needed help and received the worst service ever when I finally talked to someone who seemed to know what was going on. My girlfriend dropped about $50 last night on a two adult tickets to night splash and a locker inside. We spent just barely over a half hour inside the park only going on two attractions when the whole park was closed due to weather. The place was closed from 10:15 until the remainder of the park hours at 11 pm. I don't blame them for closing the park due to lightning but what about all the money we just paid. Your weather policy claims the park must be closed 45 min to get a rain check--not even a refund--but it does not say that it can't be the last 45 minutes. I even spent money in the arcade while waiting it out just to hear at 11 from some kid who was slightly older than all the rest that we were sh*t out of luck and he couldn't care less about our crappy experience. I didnt expect my money back but i did expect golfland sunsplash to make it up to me in someway. The company would not have lost anything issuing me a rain check as the park still runs whether someone buys a ticket in or not. I would have came back to get my moneys worth and been extremely satisfied but now I would rather never go back, and instead warm others about their total apathy towards creating a truly memorable for their customers. Would be great if you could see your ball. Several of the courses had no lighting and a couple had ripped up turf. Then one of the courses had a puddle of water right on the turf dripping from the slide above it. This place needs some work. read more

This was my first time here and my experience here was Terrible. The "lifeguards" are more worried about yelling and lecturing people then about the experience of the customers. I couldn't believe the way that they spoke to people. I get it you have to maintain safety however these are humans so have a little compassion. No one I saw being yelled at was in danger or putting anyone in danger. I saw a lady get yelled at for splashing her friend in the lazy river I also go to experience the lecture/yelling session in the lazy river with my 2 year old here is the email I sent to them "I just wanted to let you know about my experience at the water park on Sunday. I went with my husband and 2 kids who are 2 and 8 years old. I spent about $200 I believe that when a customer spends that type of money at your business it should be a great experience. This was the first time that I had been to your water park as we normally go to Wet and Wild but recently moved near Mesa so we decided to check out Sunsplash. The day started out fine but I started to notice that you "lifeguards" were literally yelling/scolding people left and right I get that you have to maintain safety and that this is the end of the summer and they have probably told people the same thing a million times however there is a way to speak to people (like they are humans) and show kindness. Screaming and being rude I don't believe is necessary. These were not situations that someone was going to die in. So i do understand there are rules and that they have to be taken seriously however 1 the person may not understand the rules and so maybe just letting them know would work and provide a more positive rapport with that customer and 2 people don't pay that kind of money to be yelled at. The reason why I am writing is one I saw this happen all day while I was there it was defiantly worse when the "lifeguards" were speaking to children they are people as well and 2 I also got to experience this myself. I do not consider myself a rule breaker and I certainly don't expect to be yelled at by a 16 yr old kid and his 20 yr old boss. I took my son who is 2 in the Lazy river he has never been in before and about a min in started to freak out something I was not expecting. I saw a dad and front of me with a child a little younger than mine that placed the baby on the tube and hung on from the outside. That child seemed calm so I decided to do the same thing my son sadly was not having it and at the height of his freakout one of your 16 year old "lifeguards" began screaming that I needed to be in the tube with my son. I tried to advise him that my son is obviously freaking out he said then you need to get out. I tried to advise him that I also had my 8 year old with me and for some reason I then got a 20 year old what I assume to be a supervisor also yelling at me to get out if I wasn't going to follow the rules. I tried to advise her of the situation as well which she was worse than the first guy. My son was visibly freaking out this is not something I should have had to explain as a mom the last thing I wanted to do was deal with him and the condescending way she spoke to me. I try to follow rules. I had others in the water that didn't work there and didn't have to help actually help me with my child its called COMPASSION. I understand they might not be parents and might not see it from our view but my main concern was my child at that moment and to have 2 people yelling at me was a little over the top. I don't know if you teach customer service there but I saw it all day long. Your a lifeguard I get it you have to maintain safety I get it but help someone don't scream and lecture. I am a supervisor as well and I would never let one of my people treat a customer that way. I defiantly will be posting on social media and yelp and everywhere else to make sure that everyone knows the rules and knows what you get for $200 at Sunsplash however I did want to let you know my experience as well as I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way. It was only a few min of my day however it really ruined the experience for me. We chose Sunsplash was it was the least expensive waterpark option and I'm so glad we did! We all had a wonderful time, we came on a Tuesday and there was practically no wait time for any of the rides. This place is great for kids, my 13 year old and 1 year old were both kept busy. Also, I want to say that Ashley in the toddler area was fantastic with my daughter. We will definitely be back on our next vacation. read more

Sunsplash is always a lot of fun, however, there is room for improvement. Paying admission should not take forever. If they're going to have customers insert money into a machine then that machine should be able to give cash back. One machine is not enough. There should be at least three machines. I waited in line at least 20 minutes in the blazing sun waiting to get into the park. I've read other reviews where people waited much longer. At least provide shade over the line area and more areas through the park would be a good idea as well. The prices on the lockers are too steep. When we're done having fun at the end of our stay it feels as though our feet have been torn up. How about putting down some soft padding on the ground throughout the park? Adding these things would make the visit to the park much more pleasant. read more

Absolutely loved this place. I haven't been to mini golf in many many years and this place brought back the kid in me!! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, except for when my fam went to ride go-carts. While I am 6 months pregnant and barely showing sometimes I forget you can't do certain tasks or sports, well we purchased 4 rides and while waiting to ride my bf suggested it may not be a good idea since there were other people going to ride this round and they could get wild. I went back up to the window and explained to the cashier that I needed a refund due to the possibility of hurting the baby. The employee said "ok but I need to contact the manager because we don't allow refunds". She pointed out the 'ride at your own risk' sign which mentions pregnant women need to be careful and that they too are riding at their own risk. Well I wasn't going to accept the no refund policy because we hadn't ridden yet and it had only been a couple mins since we purchased the tickets. The manager shows up & I explain the situation and how I didn't think that riding these go-carts may affect the baby. Right off the get go he explains the no refund policy and that there is nothing he can do about it. Well my bf overhears this and comes right over and tells the manager that they need to refund my money because it's a medical condition and he will sue them, etc... (yikes). At this point I'm a little embarrassed but i agree with what my bf is stating so the manager comes up with wanting to give us credits to play games inside. Well this was just not good enough because we were not sticking around to pay games, eventually after 5 minutes of my bf fighting for the refund the manager gives it to me. Lesson learned to read rules or try and remember that I'm pregnant. lol. Other than this minor altercation we had an amazing time and will be back for more golf as well as splash time. read more

Came last week before school started - LOVE this waterpark, we always have so much fun! Tons of different slides, great wave pool and lazy river. I'd give it 5 stars but there were a couple negatives - the price for one..the admission fee for kids over 48" is the same as an adult which seems odd to me. Also, they changed the entrance to the arcade/Golfland side which seems a bit run down. When you buy a locker, it's over on the Golfland side as well so when you need money, more sunscreen, etc. you are going back and forth instead of it being convenient like it used to be. Other than that, we had a great time - stayed from open to close! Got to get your money's worth! ;) read more

We got a card for two hours of free play in their arcade and went to the counter to activate it. The employee told us it was empty, and we explained that it was supposed to have 2 hours of play on it. She replied "well it says nothing," turned her back on us, and walked away. I had my 5 year old's birthday party at Golfland and it was ok! My biggest complaint is the party host who was assigned to our party. First of all, most of the employees at this establishment are teenagers and have had little to no party hosting training. My party hostess was not very dependable. There were several times throughout the party that I had to ask someone to go find her. My expectation was that she would be readily available and ensure the party ran smoothly. However, I was the person asking her to do things that in my opinion she should have taken care of as the party hostess (ie, rounding up kids to go eat, transitioning from one activity to the next). Overall, I was pleased with the private room we got for the party and the activities that we paid for. However, I HIGHLY recommend that for birthday parties a trained party hostess is utilized rather than a random employee. read more

The fact of the matter is (after asking my daughter) the girls got a locker and were on their way to get on a ride the park closed. They didn't even GET IN the water. Did that take 30 minutes? Maybe?. Even if that is the case, why isn't there any compensation for the locker or tube rentals if it takes 30 minutes to do that? The most annoying comment that you sent me was in the private e-mail that said the Operations Manger offered to extend the ticket and that an ABSOLUTE LIE! You were not on that call and apparently that is what she told you. She didn't say "too bad" but her attitude did. When asking to talk to whomever supervised her, she stated that I couldn't talk to anyone above her because this was a family owned and operated business. I realize that weather is out of your control and that is fine, however, the rain checks should not have expiration dates. Let this be a warning to anyone coming from out of town during Monsoon season that although the website says you can come back with a rain check, it will likely expire before you come back. The weather policy is not clear like expressed, I only had 1 child that paid but if I had several, I would even be more irritated!! read more

I took my two teenage boys to Sunsplash and we had fun. My lasting impression of the place, however, is that of all the employees, slides attendants, lifeguards, supervisors, etc that we came into contact with, no one was smiling, friendly or appeared to be enjoying their job at all. My kids commented on this too, and I heard some other teenagers in the lazy river making comments about this too. In my opinion, this speaks to expectations set by management, and management has clearly not set any expectations for customer service or quality. In addition, the place was very dirty. It gets very crowded after 5, so be prepared if you plan to go at night versus day time. read more

I really enjoyed this place, I played two rounds of mini golf and rode go karts for almost 1 hour 45 min... but with 30 minutes left of our 3 hour pass, we were stopped on our go kart... we thought they wanted us to go around and re go through like we had done multiple times, but on the way through the ticket gate they informed us because our "wreck less" driving we were being kicked from the course (without warning and only real reasoning is that in the hour and a half after making the turn to go under the bridge my brother came over on me and spun himself out before I could stop, with no trouble I went forward and stopped while he reset, but coming from chatting with his co worker he was walking over to his post and noticed my brother pulling away from that situation which earned us to get kicked out of the go kart) when we talked to a manager he informed us the kid running the track said they informed us multiple times (which was a bold lie) then he said we could return to the go kart track with 5 minutes left on our 3 hour pass to the employee that treated us like children and lied while he was not doing his job, with no fix of the time wasted dealing with that... the time I had there was fun but your not anything if your customers aren't happy and as a manager you could have done a lot more than sent me on my way... but thanks for showing your appreciation that's why I'm here... 2 star for the complex because of the way they respect they're guests... get new management that care about they're guests and don't just throw them out to the kids working who just don't wanna do they're jobs 10-12-17 (11am-2pm pass) it was @ 1:45 pm if u care to follow up Golfland read more

I took my son here last year (he was 6 then) and took him twice this year (2014). I don't know why but we always got a good parking space. Line to get in was less than 5 min. All rides had fast moving lines. Most we went right back up as soon as we were done to ride it again or another one right next to it. In 3 hours we could ride every ride they had and have time to enjoy the wave pool. I always get a locker and get a couple of ice creams with the refund difference when leaving. To me it feels like a backyard water park that is always open for me and I can ride any ride whenever I want. No big lines, lots of fun, friendly staff, great place! I always eat before I go so I don't buy any food there. 5 stars for me. I am worried about going to another water park after reading other posts about long lines and wait times. Sunsplash gave me high expections that I don't want to get let down elsewhere. read more

Went on yesterday, and enjoyed the day. Keep in mind we are young adults going without children. We purchased tickets in advance at frys for a lower price than at the door. I think they were $22 a piece. We stopped at a great breakfast place on the way, very close to the park, Cracker and Co.(review to follow). Locker price was pricey $8. Food was high as well as beverages. We pd $3 for one gatorade, pricey. We enjoyed the lazy river for 1.5 hrs, plenty of tubes were available. Lines were not bad for the slides. Some of the tubes were BIG and HEAVY to carry to the top of the lines. Overall we enjoyed our day. We did not take children with us. I am not sure how anyone with a family can afford a day here but for us, we didnt have children with us begging for soda, ice cream, food etc. So it was very do able. One thing is for sure, Im too old for the waterpark , haha. :) I was exhausted when I got home. read more

Today was my first visit to Sunsplash. The waterpark is older and shows some wear, but appears to be in decent condition, with ample staffing. Staff tested water quality at slides, which was good to observe. I thought it was odd that there weren't a few clocks dispersed around the park; the only one I saw was in the ice cream shop, where you get and return the locker keys. I enjoyed the wave pool, lazy river, and most of the water slides. I would rate the park higher except that I had a rather painful experience on a slide called the "Master Blaster". Apparently my husband barely heard a staff person mention to "not slouch inside the innertube". My son and I either weren't told this, or we didn't hear this necessary warning. Signs with picture examples of correct/incorrect seating would be helpful at the slide entrance. It is a fast slide with numerous "bumps", so it is quite necessary to make sure your backside is not too deep inside the innertube or else your rear or back will hit the bumps -- HARD. I learned this, quickly, but I am on an ice pack tonight for a visibly bruised lower back. I would not be surprised if someone has broken their tailbone, or worse, on that unfortunate slide. Please do use caution on the "Master Blaster". read more

I brought my family of five to golfland. We played golf and there was a thousand leaves all over the course. Before we were going to leave we decided to get some shakes and some cheese sticks and we were waiting for at least 20 minutes. Finally we got our shakes, but they forgot our cheese sticks so we just asked for a refund. Once we tasted the shakes we wanted to return them they were so bad. They hardly mix the ice cream and its run by a bunch of kids. But the laser tag was very fun. read more
