Good selection, better than other nearby stores (of which there are not many). Usually a quick in-and-out with no issues.

Tried to go in at 10:45, after seeing they were open until midnight on Friday. Lights off and doors closed. What?!

No, this is more of a sit-yourself-down kind of place, instead of being a make-your-way-to-the-bar-for-yet-another-drink kind of place. But they serve up some Joe's Kansas City BBQ, so you know they've got a reason to pull you in. Nothing says Kansas City quite like smoked meats & fabulous sauces, so get comfy & sample a Z-Man. There is plenty else on the menu, but if you're vegan or vegan-ish, then good luck or maybe have a cheat day. The BBQ is fantastic and Ice House has added their own bar & grille twists, so you have options beyond smoked meats. Seating is pretty good, and with both a wraparound bar and table service, there are plenty of options. As is the norm these days, there are screens in all directions, so you just don't miss a single moment of sportsball if that's your jam. P&L is a jammed up place when events are happening, so if you can find yourself a spot to sit and enjoy, then that's a win. County Road offers that and more, and it's only real knock is the service levels, which can be slow at busy times. But hey, if you have a seat and maybe a drink, then wait just a few extra minutes for servers to plow their way through the bar crowd. Definitely worth it for the BBQ alone.

Don't go here for BBQ. Came in with a large party got seated right away which was nice. BUT it took…read morethe server 30 mins to greet our table. We didn't get any drinks until almost being there for an entire hour. The server came and told some lie about how the computer reset and the kitchen lost our order, AS other tables who were seated after us got their food. The server said he had to "re-take" our order. Then the food came out really quick after that. The manager did not apologize or acknowledge our experience. Every time we asked the hostess what was taking so long they just said "it's because the server has tables outside." We went outside while waiting for our food to see no tables were even occupied outside. The food wasn't that good at all. They didn't offer any compensation for the mishap. The server failed to split the checks correctly. And to top it all off the live music was turned up waaaaay too loud to where it wasn't even an enjoyable atmosphere. We were all visiting and were told this place was good. They weren't even busy, lots of staff just standing around. I don't appreciate the business model of lying to your customers instead of taking accountability. Coming from someone who has worked in the service industry that was an absolutely disturbing experience for spending $450 on food. I am also adding that I emailed the owner as he asked me to below this review and it's been almost a week and I haven't heard anything back from him. Update 9/18/26: it's been a full week of emailing back a fourth with the owner and the only way he tried to fix this review was offering me an "outside patio" table. This restaurant does not care for their guests whatsoever. I tried to be nice and think $450 of service for it to come out 2 1/2 hrs late and the food below standards for KC and this is a common issue you see growing with this restaurant. If you get Alfonso as a server ask for someone else. He lies to you and is not professional. He should have notified management and offered some kind of compensation after what my party went through.

It took us a while to get through the menu because of all the fun burgers they offered. I kind of wish I tried something else because a smash burger is pretty straightforward, but delicious regardless. I also got a yummy gin drink (i'm blanking on the name) that was prepared in a cute cocktail glass. And of course, we had to get the truffle fries which were to die for. Great service, he got us in and out of there on a busy night without rushing too much. Higher end burger place with prices that reflect that, but nothing too ridiculous. Definitely will be coming back.

We explained why we had chosen the restaurant, offered flexibility about seating and service, and asked for a manager. The answer remained a flat no. With appointments afterward, we stayed in a freezing dining room just feet from the outdoor seating we had requested. There appeared to be only about three other occupied tables, which made the inflexibility even more frustrating. I understand operational limitations. What disappointed me was how dismissive the response felt. We left feeling like accommodating our request was an inconvenience. The service staff were fine. The food was unremarkable. With sandwiches around $17 before adding tots and drinks, our lunch came to approximately $34 per person including a 20% tip, before tax. For the overall experience, that was poor value. Our office is a block away. This could have become a regular lunch destination, but I won't be returning. Customers do not owe a restaurant their business. It has to be earned. A prime Power & Light address doesn't make up for dismissive hospitality. BRGR, do better.

If memory serves me correctly this used to be an old berbiglia spot. Just thinking about those stores takes me back to my early 20s and thinking about how much KC has changed in a decade. At any rate, I pulled over, dodged some rain, and came inside. Now, anyone who remembers Berbiglias in KC might remember them as I do - kind of basic, a bit dirty, and the kind of place that you just kind of tolerated. I mean, I was in my twenties so I didn't know liquor stores could be nice and have variety, but now I do, and boy was I glad when I walked in the doors and found out that this newly redone Plaza Liquor is NICE. Not only is the interior nice, the folks working are super friendly, and they have an incredible selection. I found some craft beers from STL that my husband hadn't been able to find in a long time at liquor stores closer to our house, and they of course carried a good variety of wine and liquor as well. Overall this one is a great little neighborhood liquor store, and is definitely one I'll return to if I'm once again needing to pick up a bottle of wine on the way home.
