The pizza is excellent... crispy crust, not too thick or thin, just the right amount of flavorful sauce, toppings (house special) and cheese. And it was still delicious leftover! The gyro...WOW!!! Gyros are one of my favorite sandwiches and I will be craving this one until I can get there again. The well seasoned meat was sliced off the spit then seared on the flattop. It was crisp on the outside and tender inside. Nestled in warm pita and topped off with feta cheese and plenty of herby, garlicky tzatziki was perfection. Customer service was top notch. I downloaded yelp specifically to leave a review for this restaurant. Terrible customer service. Forgot our silverware, brought out my food with meat sauce after I specifically asked to make sure there was no meat. The dining room had no music so I could clearly hear the sound of them microwaving our food in the back. Sauce is not house made and tastes awful. Definitely not the place to stop after getting off the river.... Go anywhere else. The vibes were awful. The service was awful, we were not taken care of and did not even eat our food because it was so unpleasant. I'd rather be water boarded than go back there. Maybe next time I go rafting I'll drown so I won't have the misfortune of being hungry enough to go here read more

This is Greek/Italian diner food at it's best. It's not fancy or elegant but it's big and good in a comfy dining room. When you get off the river, you will be hungry and this is where you want to be. Pizza, sandwiches, pastas and big beefy salads are all on the menu at more than reasonable prices. Love the gyro. read more

The Gondolier in Ocoee/Benton has the BEST pizza! I've had different pizzas they make and they have all been delicious! I'm partial to the hamburger and black olives and it's always fantastic!! Oh my gosh!!! This place was great!!! Mother-in-law has the shredded ribeye with mushrooms sandwich and fries. I got a big bite of it and it just melted in my mouth!!! So delicious!!! Wife and I shared a pepperoni mushroom and extra cheese pizza! Wow! It was awesome too!!! Drive by this place every time going to river valley, ALWAYS busy but when stopped in and found out WHY!!!!! Good little Italian place to stop at if your near the Ocoee river. Fresh handmade pizza, and the manicotti and eggplant parm was tasty and flavorful. The restaurant was clean. First appearance made us wonder but can't judge a book by its cover. The staff were quick and friendly and helped each other. Food came out fresh and hot. Giving 4 stars because the ac was not on and I was sticking to the booth seats (not comfortable) and all the good alcoholic beverages on tap were not working. We went to the Ocoee Gondolier on the recommendation of our river guide after a day of rafting. We arrived at 7pm- over an hour before closing- and still the "hostess/server" looked annoyed that we were even there. We asked to sit outside and she rolled her eyes and said fine, while shoving menus in our hand. We waited over an hour for a pizza and a salad and 20 minutes for an initial drink. The food was surprisingly good, considering how poor the experience was. (I would have rated the food alone a 4) The server tried. She was new and struggled with taking our order, forgot our silverware, didn't give us any napkins, forgot our condiments and refills, but she did at least try. The other "servers" were downright rude. So I guess we were lucky we got the service we did. The patio table was dirty and had cobwebs underneath it. The parking lot was disgusting and had a layer of slick grease (not oil- it was grease from a grease trap) on most of the parking spaces. The bathrooms would pass health code... barely.. but they were at least clean. I will never step foot in there again. I guess the lack of competition keeps them in business.. it sure is not the service. read more

I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of an Ocoee River raft guide. Fortunately, the guide was better at guiding than recommending restaurants. The menu looked promising, but on what was hardly a busy night the service was beyond awful. We waited more than an hour for our order of 4 pizzas for our table of 8. We finally got 2 of the 4 pizzas delivered, and continued to wait for the other two for another 20 minutes. We flagged down the server who said they would be ready in "5 minutes." 20 minutes later, we get 3 pizzas: 2 that we did not order (both cold) and a third that we did order...but were still missing the 4th pizza. A total of 2 hours went by before we finally took the last pizza to go, and we found when we got it back to our cabin (we were out of town guests) it wasn't even fully cooked. For the part of the country this place is in, it looks to have a lot of promise, but they failed miserably in service and put a big damper on what was otherwise an incredible day floating the Ocoee River. We plan to return to the river, but the Ocoee Gondolier will never see another dime from me or my group of friends. read more

This was a plain and simply an unpleasant experience that didn't have to be. We arrived at 8:10 pm (an hour and twenty minutes before closing) on a Friday night. I'd estimate there were a dozen people there when we arrived. The wait staff were already vacuuming and breaking the place down. It was very apparent that they weren't happy to see us rolling in on them "at the last minute" before closing. When our waitress came to the table she mentioned something about needing to vacuum and did we know what we wanted..? " No,we'll need a few minutes"..from this point on the service was silly and unprofessional. She showed up a few minutes later, we ordered and it took forever. When she finally came back she promptly vacated our area again only to return with a drink refill and our check. There was no checking to see if we were ok, if our food was good ,no offering dessert, no nothing but these parting words ..."whenever you are done,She can ring you up at the front register".... The funny thing is was there were 3 waitress' working this place and all 3 of them were standing by the front register huffing, puffing, hands on their hips and rolling their eyes at their remaining customers. I can only assume their was some sort of season premiere of Duck Dynasty ,honey boo-boo or Wrestling on tonight and these ladies were dying to get home to watch it. The food was nothing I couldn't have found at a primary school cafeteria. Seriously. The service was a joke and therefore all I'll remember about this place was how unwelcome we were treated. The waitress was very apologetic and offered to make another. 2 stars for meal Upon entry you can see in the kitchen from an unused glass door, I can't help myself and try not to look, but... The salads are prepped ahead of time and sat in stand on top of each other. The bottom of each bowl down inside the other!! Seriously! I could say the bowl was clean but I can't help but think about the fingers that touched the bottom since exit from the dishwasher and the surface it was set on during prep. No other food safety concerns they killed any thing that might be living on my burnt pizza for sure! 2 stars for food safety just can't help but think there thought processes must be off. 2 stars overall read more

The manager at the Cleveland TN restaurant more than satisfied this problem we had, so I gave it a 3 star instead of a one star!!! Thank you Gondoliers! We love your soup at the Cleveland TN location, I wish the Ocoee one had the soup also. We will probably give this Ocoee restaurant another chance. One caveat to this 5 star rating: This is a "mom and pop" little cheap pizza joint, this is not a fancy big city Italian food place. And they do a very good job at what they do. Horrible dining experience and I only placed a to go order. When we arrived the 2 waitresses were hanging out with their friend in the sunroom dining area drinking coffee. Appeared completely annoyed we were even there, took order, make my salad and laid it out for the 25 min wait. They went back to booth to sit down and drink more coffee which they refilled yet NEVER checked on us. Order was complete and again very rude and rolling her eyes to the cook an other waitress. This is a great place to eat and one of my favorites. The food isn't going to blow your mind but it's a place that is reliably going to serve you a good, satisfying meal that is on par with the price you're paying. Service has always been great and everyone very friendly. The side salads are not much more than lettuce with a hunk of onion on top of it and just a wasteful, annoyance that I feel bad about not eating for some reason but that's just a personal pet peeve as it's complimentary with a lot of meals. Ok food. Nothing special. My friend had the cannelloni with meat sauce and the portion was large enough and there was plenty of meat in the sauce, but the flavor was nothing special. Tasted like a cross between Chef Boyardee ravioli and Fazolis. I had the Gyro. It was less than average quality. The bread was dry and a little burnt and there was little sauce and no lettuce or feta cheese and it was one of the smallest Gyros I've had. I must rate our server with a 5 though. He was pleasant and cheery and even a bit funny. He was quick to bring us menus, take our drink order and check up on us. I think he just started working there. read more

My two children and husband got their food, I didn't get my small pizza the entire time I asked and when the server asked the guy making it he was rude and was too busy to make the pizza he said. No food for me. Then go to pay and guy at register charges us for food we didn't even order. We love other Gondoliers but the one in Benton m, TN was awful.
