Bought a Tracker here several weeks ago and was treated very well. On busy days I have noticed it does a take a while to get some help but once it is your turn you have thier undivided attention. The owner, Mark, is very pro-active in both the sales and service end of the business and has personally assisted me in both areas. Had a factory defect problem and a problem I apparently created with the boat and both were fixed quickly and properly with Gone Fishin absorbing the cost of my novice error. Recently I purchased my boat from gone fishin' marine. The buying experience was great. Zero pressure, the sales staff did not try to make me purchase anything More than what I wanted. I felt like I was in control of my purchase the whole time. After bringing the boat home and using it for awhile I noticed that there was a problem with the finish on the boat that was clearly going to be a warranty issue. I sent a email to Mark the owner and he got back to me with in 30 mins and told me that this would completely be taken care of. I made the appointment to get the boat fixed, and the totally worked around my schedule to make it as simple as possible for me. When I got to the dealership I was greeted by the service staff who were very friendly and knowledgeable, I told them about some of the things that I wasn't happy with about the boat and they said that they could make some adjustments to it while it was getting the other work done. While at gone fishing I made some other purchases in their tackle shop. Pete who works their was really helpful and have me a lot of good advice. A week or so later I picked my boat up from the dealership and it looked great. I took the boat out and could not believe how much better the boat performed due to the adjustments. Bottom line is that I have had a great experience with Gone fishin' marine and I would recommend them to anyone who needs anything boat or tackle related they are a no pressure,knowledgeable, fair place to get anything marine related and I will continue to go there for my boating needs. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I brought my boat in for service and the service guy Josh treated me like family. This guy went over and beyond the call of duty to take care of his customer. I would not recommend "Dong Wishing" I mean "Gone Fishing" to anyone. I was truly disappointed in the service that my friend and I received. My fishing partner has a 17 foot Northriver with a 2006 Yamaha 90 outboard motor. Motor was having a few issues it would die under throttle once it was up to plain. After two soiled fishing trips due to this problem we took it in to get it serviced at "Dong Wishing" I mean "Gone Fishing" in Dixon. Upon dropping it off the employee assured us that it would be fixed and it would be no problem it would take up to two weeks. After having the boat for nearly 2 months we pick it up. A little taken back on the bill due to the fact that we were charged for new water separator, new spark plugs, lower unit oil, New engine oil and a unbelievable amount of time in labor. "Dong Wishing" assured us that fix the problem though. So my partner pays this unbelievable bill but whatever as long as the boat is fixed. So the first run after getting it back from "Dong Wishing" the boat did exact same thing lost power on the throttle. They fixed absolutely nothing. Frustrated and disappointed we took the boat back to "Dong Wishing"They apologized and Assured us this time it would be fixed. So after they had the boat for nearly 3 months my buddy gets a call to come pick it up. Expecting there to be no bill due to the fact they did not fix the original problem he was surprised when he was confronted with a $1200 bill. This is where my partner and I did not see Eye to eye. I would not have paid the bill but he decided that he would pay the bill and just be happy he had his boat back and it was running. After paying the bill and picking up the boat he went straight to the lake and wouldn't you know the boat did the exact same thing lost power under throttle. Being completely frustrated and feeling robbed by "Dong Wishing" we took it upon ourselves to try and remedy the problem. Well after much reading of Yamaha forms and talking to other mechanics we come to find out that there was a secondary paper fuel filter on the motor itself. This secondary fuel filter was completely clogged with grime and gunk. Once we switched out that filter the boat has never missed a beat. I was truly disappointed by the service that "Dong Wishing" provided. I would not recommend this store to anyone. read more

Awful customer service experience with warranty issues. Purchased a brand new ranger, took it to the lake the first weekend and had a leak, almost sank. Bailed it out for 2 days, had to drive 3 hours down to dealership and 3 hours back to Reno. Had to also purchase a new battery and now they won't drive the boat back to me to make it right. I just bought a brand new lowrance elite 4 fish finder GPS combo on 2/15/15, installed on the 2/20/15 and tested it and it could not locate the satellites needed for GPS. I return to gone fishing marine they could not solve the problem. So instead of replacing it with a new one I was told I had to contact lowrance for warranty work. So I would not purchase electronics from them since they won't back the warranty. read more

This place is an absolute rip off. They tried to charge $1000 to change my oil and install a fish Finder. So I just had them do the fish finder and they only charged $504. Completely ridiculous!! Do not waste your money!! They will rip you off. read more

We ended up buying a boat here, but the experience felt like a slimy used car dealership. We already knew what we wanted so that was probably the saving grace of the whole deal. The first sales person we dealt with (Beau) treated us almost like we were trying to steal it. We needed VIN numbers and such for getting insurance and they were unwilling to help at all with that. The sales person even told us we were approved at a particular bank and rate, but that turned out to be a lie. Further in the process Mark (Assume the owner) took over and worked on the financing. He even told us that we were approved at another credit union, but WE knew we couldn't even get an account at that CU because it was in a different county that we live. Another lie. We ended up getting our own financing and brought a check to the store when we bought it. Thanks for the help Beau and Mark. We came to pickup the boat at the "only time we can squeeze you in" because they are "busy". We get there and have to wait because no one knows who's going to do the paperwork with us. We wander around the store and looked around. Finally a lady in the office was able to help us. Fairly painless. We get the walk-through on the boat.. OK.. WTF.. The 'tech' was useless. He had never even worked on a pontoon boat (what we bought) and had never worked on/service an outboard motor (what we bought). He hadn't even done the 'PDI' on this boat and then when he wanted me to sign the paperwork, I had to point out that the checklist he was going over with me was for a different boat. So then he makes up a new checklist, checks a bunch of things off (even Air Conditioning, REALLY?) and tells us that he didnt do the PDI, but wanted us to sign his paperwork that he just put together.. In the end. Decent Boat, were happy with it except for a few warranty items and a recall on the motor. The sales/service staff not helpful at all. Once it was paid for, swift kick in the ass and never even a follow-up phone call (Hey, hows the boat working out for you?) as a courtesy that we just spent nearly 20K there. read more

I wanted a Jetcraft aluminum fishing boat and GFM is the Jetcraft dealer nearest to my home in San Jose. I bought a new 2012 1825 Falcon model with a 90 hp Yamaha motor and an 8 hp Yamaha motor from GFM. I took the boat fishing and found there was a lot of water leaking into the boat. The rate of the leak was about a gallon or so an hour. I took it to GFM where they removed the big motor and re-caulked the mounting bolts. That did not fix the leak. I took the boat back to GFM and they caulked the bolts again. That still did not fix the leak. I took it back a third time and they replaced the bolts with a different size and re-caulked. They also serviced both motors. Josh, the service writer told me the motors were in good shape. He said the bilge pump did not work, so they replaced it. After paying my bill, I noticed I had been charged $40 for a new bilge pump. I told Josh the boat was less than a year old and asked why the bilge pump was not covered under warranty. He said it was not covered under the warranty. I approached the owner, Mark and asked if the bilge pumps should be covered by the warranty. He determined that it was covered. Josh then said the cost of the pump was covered by a reduction in labor costs. However, the labor cost reduction was not reflected in the bill. Josh said the labor cost had been transferred to another big job and was not reflected in my bill (I don't know who paid for my labor, but thanks). Mark backed his service writer and would not make an adjustment on my bill. I brought the boat home and checked to see if the boat leaked. It no longer leaked, but the bilge pump did not work. I found the hose from the bilge pump to the exhaust port was not connected. I called Mark and told him about the pump connection and he said he would speak to the person who installed the pump. I told him I was not happy that it took three tries to get the leak fixed. I questioned my having to pay for the bilge pump. He insisted that I did not pay for the pump and it should have been reflected on my bill that labor cost had been reduced. To say the least, I have questions about the honesty of the business practices of GFM. I would not recommend this dealer. read more

Do not take your boat here! My insurance paid them $7000 to repair a dent in the bottom of my jet boat and rebuild the pump. I got my boat back and it looked like a five-year-old pounded the dent out with his hammer. More importantly, my jet cavitated. I took it back and they said that it was my problem because they just re-furbished the impellers that were in there. Four years later I learned how to work on the jet and after putting a more aggressive Impellar in it I fixed the problem. I did this after fighting with them for four years. After investigating my receipt, I learned that I was charged $713 for the $60 Cutlass bearing they installed!!! When I asked Mark about this, he explained that my insurance allowed him to charge excessive markup on parts because he lost so much money on the labor for this job. My four years of misery could have been prevented if they would have just tried out a different impeller when I first took the boat back to them. read more

I bought my very first boat at Gone Fishin Marine. My experience with them was top notch from the time I viewed the boat I wanted on their website until the day I walked in to pick it up. Jaime Ortega, their finance Manager is very professional and has quite a sense of humor. She was just as excited as I was and made me feel as though I were at home. I had only talked to her over the phone as she called me a few times prior to the sale, even one time "after hours" to ensure that all my needs were being met and to ensure that they were holding the boat for me until I had a chance to come in and pick it up. When I arrived to the store, I met Jaime for the first time... shes a beautiful woman with a smile that will melt you! As I approached her office, I could hear a service employee say..."Jaime, Mr. Trotter, your 10AM appointment is here"... Jaime literally danced out of her office and congratulated me and walked me to the boat where Mark, the service manage was waiting to give me a full run down of my new Four Winns Horizon... They even noticed a few minor things on the boat and made the needed repairs right their on the spot in front of me. Service is TOP NOTCH here. Making the drive froim my home town of Hercules CA to Dixon was well worth it. They also have a small retail store towards the back of the sales floor. Bottom Line: I could not be happier with my new boat and the price I paid for it! I would definitely recommend Gone Fishin Marine (GFM) to anyone looking to purchase a new boat! read more

My husband and I were in the market for a newer used boat. We had settled on a Sanger and had several phone conversations with Semper Marine in Fresno. Before long, this owner had my husband convinced that a new Sanger would be the better bang for the buck. While it sounded like a good deal, I convinced my husband to make a few calls to other places, just for comparison. We had been looking at the 215S model. Through a google search, we found Gone Fishin Marine in Dixon. My husband called and spoke with their owner, Mark. In less than a 10 minute phone conversation, we found him to sound more on the up and up in terms of cost, what to expect from this brand of boat, and he was $5000 cheaper out the door than Semper. While looking at their website, we saw a Sanger 237LS, it was a 2014 but the last of that years inventory, so still a new boat. It was 2ft longer than the 215S, which appealed to us. Within an hour, we were headed to Dixon. When we got there, we saw that both models had just been freshly washed so we could have a look. Within a short time speaking with Mark after we arrived, we decided on the 237LS. While the finance work was being handled, we went to the store section to purchase the needed safety and fun accessories we would need. Mark's wife ran the store and she was just as unbelievably nice as her husband. As I'm having a panic attack about the dollar signs I'm seeing adding up, she said not to worry, we would receive just as good a deal as we did on our boat. It was clear that their focus was on providing an excellent experience. On to finance.....their finance manager Jamie was so upbeat and friendly. She did a great job explaining what every form was and what the signatures were addressing. She had everything ready to go when we stepped in her office. By the time we were leaving, I felt like these people were longtime friends. I have never had this type of experience in buying such a large purchase item. Again, the Yelp stars are aligning for Gone Fishin Marine! My family and I were looking for our first Bass Boat. We landed on a used boat at GF Marine. Yet being our first boat we had many reservations about buying a "used" boat. Mark Blanton, owner at GF Marine, engaged us as if we were buying one of his $70k Rangers. Yet..I was looking at the "cheapest" boat on his lot. Mark was open about buying a used boat and at times the challenges that come with a used boat. He discussed with our family what we were trying to accomplish in our fishing and boating goals. Even when I increased my budget, he didn't try to "up-sell" me more boat. He wanted to know how we were going to use it and how often. We put a deposit on the boat..then decided it was just too "used" for us and withdrew. Yet after looking at many other boats, Marks boat, and Mark, kept coming back to us. We ultimately bought our used Glastron from Mark and his team. The day came for our first trip to the Delta. Smiling kids, tackle, rods all ready to go. Yet our boat wouldn't start....and then once it did..we got 400yds and the overheat alarm went off. As you can imagine..my FRUSTRATION meter went to 100%. Pulled the boat off the water. Called Mark. Now..I bought a used boat..no warranty..no guarantees. I understood what I was getting into when I signed that document at purchase. My call to Mark was not looking for something for free. Here I was..what were my options? How do I get my boat back on the water? Again..The pleasant surprise from GF Marine. Mark simply said .."Bring me the boat". Its at this point he had his Evinrude technician Don, take my motor apart and trouble shoot the issue. Now when I say apart..I don't mean take the cowling off..they pulled the power head! Found the problem, ordered the parts and repaired the cooling issue with the outboard. When I asked what my bill was..he simply stated.. "I got all the labor to make this happen"..I simply paid for the new parts that went to repair the outboard issue. Unbelievable! I have been in Silicon Valley sales for 25 years. Too many companies have lost the ideology that the customer comes first. Not here at GF Marine. Mark..thank you to you and your staff. If you are considering buying a boat..New or Used..I recommend you come to GF Marine. Sure..look around..you'll be back..and Mark and his team will be there for you! I've been here quite a few times and I've come to know both the owners and the people working here. All I have to say is you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't come down and try them out for yourself. Everyone here is great and truly wants you to have a great experience, whether it's purchasing a boat, grabbing some parts, or having service/repair done on your boat. Don't take any of the negative reviews you might see here to heart. I'd bet most of these people are sour apples who are upset that that their boat is broken and have to pay to have it fixed. I can say for sure that this business has your best interest at heart and if there's a legitimate mistake on their part they will make it right. The next time you're in the market for a new or used boat, boating accessories, or service, come down and talk to the people at Gone Fishin' Marine. They won't steer you wrong. read more

Gone Fishin is overpriced and terrible service - to say the owner (Mark Blanton) is arrogant is an understatement. They charge almost double for service you can get done at other shops and do less service for that price. They don't know what they are doing with ski and wakeboard boats. They don't even check for prop damage in an annual service. When deficiencies were pointed out I got attitude and excuses - like it was a privilege for me to have work done there and get any of their time. I bought a boat with invoices from Gone Fishin for service that was just done in preparation for sale and was told that those invoices were none of my business - really? They don't stand behind their work at all... I even went back to see if they could make it right and they tried to stick me with another huge bill to diagnose what they should have done before! I am telling everyone I can to steer clear of this business unless you want to overpay for second rate service... I gave them a second chance, but pulled my boat and took it to a reputable shop with great customer service an hour and a half away. The drive was completely worth it and Gone Fishin will never get a dime of my money. Just noticed they even have a D- rating from the BBB - no surprise there either... read more

First off I will start by saying I run a guide service in the Lake Tahoe area, so I have dealt with many service shops and dealerships. I bought my first boat from Gone fishin way back in 2005. The service and whole experience was fantastic. As of recent I have a few times that I have had the pleasure of working with Mark the owner. The short of the long is that Mark and his staff are truly a step above any of the shops I have done business with. The professionalism, dedication to service and straight and honest approach has earned them my business. Although trailering a large boat from the Sierras to Dixon for service isn't the most conducive, my experiences with these guys gives me the justification to do just that. We purchased our boat from PREVIOUS owners of Gone Fishin and had a great experience. This is now run by a bunch of incompetent, no skills staff. We took our boat in for repair, it was there for 3 months, and no one ever called us. Every time we called they wouldn't call back. We left messages for the owner as well explaining our concerns, no call back. Eventually after 3 months we were told $1700 for repairs, then we waited and waited for a call to say "your boat is ready". Again NOTHING! We finally reached someone and was told, now it's going to be $3700. At that point the work still hadn't been done. After everything, we just wanted our boat back, we had already missed the entire summer without it. We finally picked the boat up and low and behold.........the boat doesn't even start! We have now filed a complaint with consumer affairs and BBB to try and recoup our money to have the boat repaired properly by a competent mechanic! Stay away from this place, they will leave you broke and boatless! read more

I will keep it short and give the readers digest version. I am a local business owner and truly understand customer service and taking care of customers. This place does very poorly at both. Put a $500.00 deposit on a boat and filled out a credit app. The boat was older and would possibly be challenging to finance. We were working with ROY. When we put down the deposit he said he would get back to us and assured us the boat would not be sold. We told him if we were unable to get financed we could pay cash in full. Well a few days went by and we attempted to contact him multiple times. No call back nothing. . We eventually did get ahold of Mark days later and he said the boat was sold. We advised him of our deposit and asked him why we didn't get a Call or anything. He said that they emailed us. I told him we did not get any emails from him or his staff. Bottom line is this place is horrible and unprofessional. Business is so good that they can care less about each individual customer. Had I read the other reviews about this same issue I would have stayed clear of this place. VERY BAD COMPANY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. read more

I got my 100 hr service here and it was a terrible experience!!! First of all they were a week late with it, then i had to pick it up on the day of my trip... Put it in the water and it was running terrible... Threw anchor and lifting engine door only to find spark plugs on the ground, spark plug cables not plugged in. And when i called them they acted like it was my fault for rushing them...My boat has ran terrible ever since... now it needs other services done because of their mess ups.....save yourself the headaches and go somewhere else!!!! read more

I bought a new SeaDoo from Gone Fishing. it was one of the best buying experience I have ever had. They are family owned and they know how to treat a person. The whole experience from the time we walked through the door was excellent . They took the time to let me make a decision, sales, financial, and how they made sure we were happy with our purchase. They took the time to make sure everything we needed to know before we left. Their prices were reasonable and they worked with us on the price of the trailer. They shipped other products that we wanted for a discount and made sure we left there as a happy customer. whether you want a water craft or a boat, they have it all. even the guy that put the registration numbers on the side of the SeaDoo treated us like we were important. we are very happy with their service department as well. I strongly recommend to anyone else shopping for water sports to see them first and save a lot of driving around to shop other places. For these reasons, I will continue to bring me sales and service needs to them because of how they made us feel comfortable making our purchase. went to gone fishing marine with an older boat for a tune up on a 25 hp johnson outboard. i was told that the casing was sucking air and the motor was not salvageable without great cost. went to sac outboard the motor was repaired for $300. casings were in good shape just needed a thormostat and a tune up. plus when i picked up my boat from gone fishing the 4 prong wiring harness was missing and i had to reconnect it myself. grade f read more

I would not recommend purchasing ANYTHING at this store. The service staff is not knowledgeable and they are not customer oriented. I had many issues with my boat from the moment i purchased it and had to get very vocal to get things completed. I found another technician and he fixed 2 issues immediately after i was told by Gone Fishin service mgr that they had tried everything and couldnt get it to work and it looked like i may need a new smart guage. I took my Lund boat in for repairs last year on May 31 i was told it would be 3 days for them to give me an estimate,3 days later they said they would get the repairs done in 2 weeks, we had discussed charges on the skag i was told it would be $200 for the repair 7 weeks later when i picked up the boat they charged me $550 and the paint did not match,they repaired hull damage, again the paint did not match and then told me they would not garuntee the hull for leaks. I was shocked,that was the main reason i brought the boat in to repair the hull,they also charged me $55 to repair a trolling motor receptacle that did not work.Thank God i have detected no leaks.The main reason i used this dealership was that it was a Lund dealer and i thought they would be better equiped to make the repairs and get me back in the water in a shorter amount of time.Wrong! The day i picked up the boat i was in a hurry to beat the traffic home a 3 hour drive i should have checked the invoice before leaving . I called Mark the owner to rectify the problem and he referred me back to the service manager Brett it was evident that Mark did not want to listen to these issues.I contacted the better business bureau they gave a "D" rating and indicated that gone fishing does not reply to complaints . I suggest that if you consider them for service or repairs get a written estimate before authorizing any work.I am in the process of filing a comlaint with small claims court. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a Pontoon Boat from Gone Fishin' Marine. We had a few glitches with the boat (no fault of Gone Fishin' Marine) and had to interact with Torquedo (motor distributor in the Chicago area). After numerous phone calls to Torquedo and their authorized parts dealer we were at a stand still. We called Mark Blanton, owner of Gone Fishin' Marine and he took the reins. He made all the appropriate calls, took care of shipping and babysat us throughout the ordeal. Let me say, Mark could have let us flounder since it was not his problem per se, but he stepped up to the plate for us, the customer. When we told him we needed the boat in the water by a certain date, he and his wife, Karena drove the boat to our house in the Manteca area on a Friday night after closing his store. It was refreshing to see that "someone really cares about the customer." Mark's honesty and integrity were certainly appreciated by us. We were brand new boat owners and appreciated all the expertise from Mark. I would recommend Gone Fishin' Marine to anybody who is looking for a boat or supplies.
