I like their black milk tea half sweet and less ice. But I found out if you like white(crystal) boba you can just order black milk tea 25% sweet less ice with white boba. Because white boba is coding with syrup. And the milk tea is going to taste exactly like the milk tea you buy from Taiwanese local boba shop! If you like something lighter I'll recommend you passion fruit green tea 25% sweet less ice no topping! It's the drink you would like to have it on hand during summer! Gong Cha has a variety of drinks which is pretty amazing. They allow you to customize your drink with the sweetness and ice level. I usually recommend getting 70% sweetness because 100% is definitely too sweet. My favorite from here is the pearl milk tea because it has a rich milk tea flavor and the boba here is pretty chewy. A nice little boba place in Cerritos, Gong Cha seems to be lacking in a lot of important areas. One of the few positives is that they have an extensive menu with a variety of options for customers to toy with, from sweetness level to toppings. They even serve mochi waffles, if you're into that. The signs posted can be a little misleading, though, as we initially thought there was a buy one get one free offer available when there actually wasn't. Also, the different menu signs are a bit cluttered around the cash register - some of them even covered up - and I can see this being a bit annoying for some, especially if a person were to already have an order in mind only to have to change their mind after seeing something new. The service could be better too... WAY better. The individual at the register was a bit dry in personality and not welcoming at all, and the other individual handing out the drinks was not engaged whatsoever. You'd expect more from a place that's so aesthetically pleasing. Another issue is with the drinks themselves. My smoothie was extremely icy and pretty much ruined after my first sip, so I definitely wouldn't recommend getting any smoothie here based on the two that I ordered. Ice chips just don't belong in a drink with the word "smooth" in it. I'm not sure this is a place worth visiting again. They have a lot of items on the menu, but I don't think I can go through the poor service more than twice before sticking my head in a bowl of smoothie ice. Try at your own risk! read more

My second time trying gongcha. I don't remember my first experience with it but wanted to give it another try. This time I got the milk foam with green tea. Asked for 50% sweet. GREEN TEA : My first taste of the drink was very sweet. I'm wondering how it would've tasted if I got 100% MILK FOAM: I thought the milk foam would be the same as everywhere else but it was different. Hm, it could have been 5-stars but customer service was lacking the night I went. I parked right outside and looking in you could see the workers goofying off and on their cell phones. Cashier greeted us with a monotone voice and could barely crack a smile. She did not even bother to help us figure out ice / sugar percentages nor give any recommendations. Seems to be a popular little spot! I was curious of the Milk foam offering & the cashier was kind enough to be give me a small sample. It's creamy with a touch of saltiness that I liked. So I ordered my usual Taro Milk Tea with boba & milk foam. I liked the consistency and the creaminess of the whole thing. My guys liked all there orders too! Very customizable....highest sweetness, lowest ice....whatever you prefer. But they do make recommendations because they know best when a particular offering is already too sweet or what not. There aren't many tables and seating is limited so if you walk in during a peak time, just expect to enjoy your yummy drink in the car. Decent tea spot! I've been to the location in Ktown and this one in Cerritos. They are pretty consistent. With the recent climate, they were able to adapt for take out orders. I ordered ahead through Grubhub and when I arrived 20 minutes later, my 4 drinks were ready. They had a table set up in front of the shop with the to go orders. I also noticed customers placing their orders with an intercom at the front. I got milk tea w/red bean, matcha milk foam with pudding & boba, taro milk tea with boba, and lychee oolong tea w/boba. It seems they were mainly doing online/phone orders, rather than help customers in line. So my tip is to order online and just pick it up, if you don't want to wait 10-15min for one drinks. The girls that were taking our order asked me if I would like to order a drink and I told them no, because I would have to buy it to try if I liked it. Well the girls that were taking our order offered to sample me the winter melon tea, so I tried it and guess what because of their offer to sample the tea I found a drink that I can now get. I don't like black boba and they offered to used crystal boba. The combination of the two was great! Thank you to the girls at Gong Cha, I now order winter melon tea with crystal boba. Surprisingly Gong Cha was really really good! I got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with regular sugar and I loved it, added a little kick to a regular milk tea. I do want to add that I came here during Covid and you do have the option of calling and ordering over the phone or even on Yelp. Gong Cha on yelp has a 20% off offer. I got the earl gray milk tea and it was pretty good. They didn't put too much ice in the drink, but they filled the tea up to the top of the cup which is nice. Earl gray isn't my favorite flavor so next time I go I'll have to try something else, but it's my personal preference. we have been a loyal customer here and have bever been treated so rudely by the staff. Tonight was the first. We placed an order thru yelp and was delivered through door dash because we cannot go to the store right now. Our order came but with no straws. I called the store and was transferred to another girl who said "you can come to the store if you want the straw". I asked if I can talk to a manager and she said there's no manager. She DID NOT apologize and just said they just forgot to put it. She said they were short staffed ahd didnt have time to double check the bag. she was so rude and when i asked for their names she asked me why and I said so that I can report to the manager tomorrow -- she hang up on me. Really like the drinks they offer here. I've only had it twice and I liked them both each time. Frist time coming I ordered the brown sugar milk tea, it sounded like it was going to be something on the sweater side but I liked that they had the option of choosing your sweetness and ice level. I got 70% sweet with the perfect balance. There was that hint of brown sugar as well as your regular milk tea. The second time I got the earl grey milk tea since it was one of their popular items. It also came with 3J (which was, egg pudding, boba, and grass jelly). Don't really add toppings when I get boba so I left those out, I'm sure it would've tasted great with them. The drink was still really good. This time I got the drink at regular sweetness and I'm glad I did. It wasn't super sweet but it also had that nice balance of the milf tea itself as well as that earl grey. Will defs come back and try more on their menu read more

They provide great recommendations and truly put a lot of care into making the drinks. My favorites are the brown sugar milk tea, mango green tea or lychee oolong tea, but you really can't go wrong with most of their menu! They also offer a great assortment of toppings, including aiyu jelly and basil seeds, which pair especially well with their fruit teas. The strawberry smoothie with boba is also a top pick for the kids! Also, the prices are extremely reasonable considering most boba places charge close to $6 for a drink nowadays and most of the drinks here are still in the $4 range, plus they often have promotions (10% off if you check in on Yelp)!
