I recently stopped by Boba Bee and thought it was such a cute little spot! I had tried it at a local block party back in July and remembered I wanted to check the shop out. Parking: The shop is located in a small shared lot with several other businesses, but there was still a decent amount of parking available. Ambiance: The inside is beautifully decorated with an adorable bee theme and a charming farmhouse-style design. They also had good music playing, which made the atmosphere feel fun and welcoming. Service: I placed my order myself, so I didn't have much interaction with the employee. She was busy preparing several other drinks, which may have been delivery orders, but everything moved along smoothly. Drinks: I tried the Queen Bee, and it was good but it did have this cream in the drink that would come up in the straw so I'd probably try something else next time! It was my first visit to the cafe, so now I'm curious to explore more of their menu. Overall: I liked the shop, the atmosphere. This Boba Bee location is situated in a small strip mall on the southwest corner of Woodruff and South St. There's a kiosk waiting for you at the front counter, and plenty of seating. The vibe in here was cute and clean. Anyway, back to the drinkable dessert bit. Had the house coffee & added boba, my daughter had the perfect pair (tropical fruit yogurt refresher & ube croffle.) It was $20 for our order and took about 15 minutes to get it. The place is cute and clean, we wanted to stay to eat there but the music was super offensive; we had to leave. Thought maybe it was just the first song, but the second one was just as bad. I don't want to take my daughter somewhere with explicit lyrics blasting in the background. Even she was aware of them. We grabbed two forks for our croffle- no knives available, so kinda hard to eat it. Glad we took it home to use our own utensils. Wanted to try a new boba place and this one came up closest to our place. A little more expensive than our normal boba place we go to, but it was worth it! Everything we ordered was so good! The shop is small, but cute! Clean and cozy if you plan to hang out and chill. We'll definitely come back and try more drinks in the near future. (Please note, this is a review update posted so late that the promo mentioned is no longer offered at Boba Bee) Summer is back, which means half off watermelon drinks! This was the promo that got me to try Boba Bee last year, and I definitely enjoyed the Watermelon Wave despite not being a big fan of watermelon. However, I can safely say if you love watermelon, I highly recommend trying one of their two watermelon drinks, especially if you can get it for half off! I didn't know about this promo until the first day when I received a text in the early afternoon and an email about 4 hours later. The email might have been a little misleading because it also advertised their summer drinks, which there are four of. However, only two of them would qualify for the promo: Watermelon Wave and Watermelon Lemonade. The Wave is a slushie drink and is worth $1 more than the Lemonade. I came in the later afternoon/early evening during the first day of the promotion, and the bubbly bobarista was ready to serve me. I asked her about both of the drinks, and I decided to go for the Watermelon Wave, which comes with Lychee Jelly. The Watermelon Lemonade comes with Aloe Vera, and I wish there was some mnemonic device that I could utilize to remember which topping would already be included in both drinks, kind of like the Queen Bee already including boba. The receipt's name said Angelika, but I can't tell if it was that bubbly bobarista or her co-worker who handed me my drink. Either way, they were both kind of chatty while my drink was being made that there was no way I could bump the rating up to 5, even if the Watermelon Wave were the best slushie drink ever. Like, come on, do I really need to know about what's going on between you and your boyfriends?! It took them 5 minutes to craft my drink, though I think they could have done it in 3 minutes if they were more customer-focused. The Watermelon Wave is $7.15, and toppings are 85 cents each. Doing the math, I wanted to add one more topping, crystal boba, so that after the half off, I'd get 4 points rather than 3. Toppings were a plenty in my drink! You also have an option to add chamoy and/or tajin to your Watermelon Wave. Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes, that Wave essentially melted into a Lemonade sans lemon. It might have lasted a little longer had I stayed inside the shop, but I took it for a walk around the neighborhood. I went again the following day and saw one of the girls working as well. Again, I couldn't tell if it was Angelika or not, but I know Nikolas was the one who served me that day. I ordered the other Watermelon drink, the Watermelon Lemonade, knowing all too well what had happened when I tried it at the Long Beach location last year. Fortunately, history did not repeat itself, and I was finally able to enjoy it to the fullest extent! If you like watermelons and lemonade, you will surely love their Watermelon Lemonade! I previously mentioned it comes with aloe vera by default, but what I didn't mention is you can swap that out for a different topping without incurring an upcharge. Nikolas was also pretty chill, about as much as a cucumber. Keep up the great work Nikolas! Also, they made a presence at the Lakewood Civic Center Block Party in late June, which I thought was pretty cool considering this location wasn't even open at that time last year. They also partook in Boba with a Deputy, although I wasn't there for that one since I was working at that time. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Cute bee decor. I ordered their season HaloHalo dessert the had a boba, red beans, aloe jellies, crème brûlée, ube jam, with a creamy slush. It was true to flavor but the portion was fairly small. The boba texture was just right. They had orders to work on when I came in but I was the only patron in the shop, so I just had to wait 5-7min for my order to be ready. I think if u didn't have the time to drive to Cerritos (5min away) for authentic HaloHalo, this option is a great alternative. read more

The place is nice and clean with new equipment. The staff person is nice and made my drink quickly. I have been a chef for 40 years so I watch how they make the drink. The cups are tall and long and so they are misleading when you get one. I ordered the one cloud and I saw him scoop 1 ounce of be for my entire drink and used some rule of milk and not sure since it was in a plastic pitcher. The drink has crumbled Oreos instead I got Oreo powder and the drink has no flavor of UBE at all and with the extremely small amount of ube you will not taste anything. I the drinks are extremely expensive for $8 and for me it's not worth it. You are better off buying the powders and watch a few videos to make at home with more flavor and less than a $1 to make it. I have been a Ex Chef and caterer for over 30 years and also I cook Filipino Food and I know what UBE tastes like and I have had allot of Halo Halo in the past 30 years. Those are not Oreos it's just Oreo Crumbs that you buy in bulk because it's the same stuff I used on dessert stations. Also I have done Boba stations allot of times over the years for events. Sorry your product is not up to taste. Would it really hurt your cost to have a bigger cup since you are charging $8 a drink and most of the drink is ice anyway! read more

The vibe of this place is always amazing. I go here quite often with my family. Every time we visit, we always try something new--not once have we ever had a drink we did not like--and the workers are always so great to recommend their favorite drinks. I think I come here so often I've been able to build some connections with some of the bobaristas. I just wanted to shout out Imart, Wheeler, Vocke, Aj, and Nick for always being so awesome. Every time I come to the store and they are present, their professionalism and ability to welcome guests with a smile tops the experience I have had with Bobabee. Whenever I have a lot of school work or need to study, I come here because they always play great music. Though, I do wish they had better tables and more decorations to really give the place a more aesthetic look. Another thing I would like to see in this place would probably be a photo-booth machine--I believe it would attract more customers. For those who are wondering what to get here, I really like the mango milk, as it is so refreshing. Overall, great drinks, great service, great music! I wanted to try this place out after hearing it'd be open on Woodruff, and I was not disappointed! I had the Strawberry Delight smoothie which is a combination of strawberry and peach (I was told it was very little peach) and it was so delicious. It also seems like there's only one size for the drinks, which is large. The store is also super cute and nicely decorated. Boba Bee is one of my favorite Boba places! I love getting their Iced black peach tea. It is my favorite! It is so refreshing and it is good with or without boba! I also love their brown sugar milk tea and crème brûlée series! The crème brûlée drinks taste exactly like a dessert! I like their thai tea as well. It is not super strong but it is still good! That's what I got this visit. Their decorations are the most beautiful! The workers are also all very helpful and friendly! I've visited here multiple times and noticed the drinks are a hit or miss depending on who is working. The times I've come here with two (asian ?) boys working, i've always noticed my ube cloud is sooo watered down where there is absolutely no ube taste but rather tasting straight up milk. It's happened twice with my drink being watered down with them working. I came in another time with a girl working and she made it better so i'm going to assume they aren't following proper measurements , resulting in drinks being so watery/tasteless. The staff was super nice and the young gentleman helped me set up to get points for rewards. I got the queen bee for myself and I can't wait to try the other popular flavors.
