I've always heard great things about gong cha and wanted to try it out. This place is a disappointment. For the price you're paying this place is prob the most over priced boba out of the many boba places that are way better. We ordered a mango green tea and a hojicha milk tea. They both were very watered down and very bland. Almost no taste. The hojicha was terrible you can taste grains of tea in the drink and it was not pleasant. read more

I've been at this gongcha for 5 times total. Every single time I have a boba tea, their top isn't sealed well and I shake the drink(even not so hard) they splash tea everywhere in my car. DON'T SHAKE THE DRINK!!! Also their boba is a bit too chewy. It's convenient location for me but they don't satisfied me at all. They really need to improve the sealing. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty dead inside so we got our drinks in like five minutes after ordering. We got pearl milk tea and QQ passion fruit green tea. The pearl milk tea is pretty basic but I liked how it wasn't super sweet (I got regular sweetness and it was just perfect). Their boba is a little smaller than most places but the texture was just right for me. It's more soft and chewy and doesn't take too long to eat. The QQ passion fruit green tea comes with coconut lychee jelly and boba. This tasted pretty much exactly how it sounds. The sweetness was also just right as is. Overall, the drinks here were pretty average - nothing stood out to me as spectacular but I would definitely come here if I was craving boba and was nearby. read more

This shop is small with a few places to sit and enjoy drink offerings from milk teas, boba drinks, smoothies, etc. My drink was alright and kinda reminded me of a Slurpee with passion fruit juice. If you are an IG person there are photo opps with the rosy wall decor or the angel wings. Parking is a bit nuts in this plaza as it is shared with the 99 Cent store, 7-11, and other businesses. Ok I've seen people checking in this place out in OC and now the South Bay got one in Gardena located off 182nd and Western Ave. in the 99 Cents shopping center. It's a nicely decorated place lots of pics to take lol. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They have a bar-top like tables across the windows inside and one bench so no tables inside but outside have a few tables. They have boba teas, milk teas, smoothies and coffee. I got the QQ passion fruit green tea which was good looks like another winner in Gardena. Overall a perfect place for teas and milk teas and so close to home. Definitely better than my first gong cha (another location) experience. I got the rainbow peach black tea with boba with 70% sugar which perfect. Gong Cha brings the boba fire! Located along busy western, it's in between 7-11 and Shin-Sen-Gumi to go. Parking isn't a problem because it shares a huge lot with kura and other businesses. You walk in and there are cool instagrammable backgrounds on the left and right side of the wall. The menu is more off to the right side past the cashier. You can customize the sugar and ice levels. There are two different sizes for hot drinks and cold drinks. The foam is pretty good. For the grand opening, the mustache option is BOGO. They offer coffee options as well. The green tea with foam was good. The winter melon is pretty standard like everywhere else. The brown sugar milk tea (hot) was good If you plan to order a lot of drinks, unfortunately, they do not have carriers. Instead, they will seal your drink instead of leaving them with the top opening. And yes they still have straws haha. They also do catering (how cool)! read more

Things are definitely changing for the better. The store is on Western and 182nd, in the same building as 7-Eleven and Shin-Sen-Gumi 2GO. Seating inside is limited to three high stools near the window. Decor is a little tacky in person, but very Instagrammable. Their menu options are pretty solid, with so many customizations. You can choose to have regular iced tea, milk tea, fruit tea, smoothie, or coffee. There's also foam and additional toppings a part from boba, like white boba, tapioca, jelly, red bean, basil seeds, etc. You can also adjust your sugar and ice level. I usually get Earl Grey Milk Tea with boba with full sugar. Their drinks taste good, and are priced well. In an effort to reduce waste, they encourage customers to bring their own cups for a ten cent discount. No need to go all the way to Koreatown anymore! Thank goodness. read more

In 2019, they wouldn't honor their brochure prices. They have a counter sign that says you get a free drink with the purchase of a $25 gift card, but today they wouldn't honor that offer either, saying it's an old sign. The manager even picked up the sign, said it's outdated, and placed it back on the counter next to the register. Went to Gong Cha for their official opening this weekend. They were offering BOGO on their Milk Foam drinks. I ended up ordering the Regular Milk Foam Green Tea drink - 100% sweetness. The Milk Foam wasn't too salty which I loved, but I would definitely choose 50% sweetness if I ordered this drink again! It was way too sweet and totally drowned out the taste of the tea. Boba was delicious - my friend got the pudding and said it was good as well! Drinks are a little pricier than other boba shops in the area, and they unfortunately don't offer a stamp card. Seating area is small - there are about 10 bar seats. I wish there were more tables and seating areas to sit with friends! read more

Protip #1: Don't try going here during peak lunch/dinner hours because parking will be impossible to find. Tip #2: Drinks here are incredibly sweet so unless you have a sweet tooth, I'd highly recommend getting your drinks 70% or even 50% sweet. Gong Cha is adding to South Bays collection of boba shops. I went recently and the line was very long. The store is fairly new so maybe the workers didn't know everything yet so it took some time order for each person. The cashier kept on calling someone over to help ring each person up which did take some time but I'm not using that against them in this review. I ordered a royal milk tea with boba. The milk tea itself was very good but the boba had no flavor. What I usually expect when I drink boba is the tapioca itself is quite sweet. But at gong cha, the boba was quite bland. It's as if they boiled the tapioca pearls and did not keep it in a honey/sugar mixture. The price was about $5 for a regular size but many of the boba shops in the South Bay have larger sizes with the same amount of money. I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

I came here to check out a new location of Gongcha, and I hoped this new location could serve a true flavor of milk tea. A guy who works at the cashier was extremely racist when he saw a customer approached to him was Asian and pretended that he didn't understand what the customer was trying to say and called their coworkers over started speaking Chinese and laughing. Then, I tried their Milk Tea compared to Ding Tea, Honey Boba, Boba Times, etc... it was terrible taste of milk and tea. Bad services, horrible drinks. Highly not recommend this to anyone who loves boba. read more

This place is so cute and clean. It is a bit difficult to hear due to the mask and what not so it took us a bit to order but honestly it was delicious.
