Gramps Getaway has one of the best views of Miami. The vibe is cute and casual, perfect for hanging…read moreout with friends and just enjoying the day by the water. The bartenders are super friendly and funny, which made the experience even better. I had the burger and it was so goooood . The hot dog was just okay, but the burger def made up for it. Parking can be a little iffy, but they do offer valet which helps. I see myself coming back!

I went here for lunch by myself to have a bar meal and check the place out. I had read good things…read more Wow, what a disappointment! Parking (I was riding my motorcycle) was scarce. I talked the friendly valet into letting me park between a handicap space and a dumpster. The service was awful. It was 1:30 pm and there were about 15 customers with capacity for 100+. I was given a menu and a glass of water timely and the lady behind the bar seemed friendly. There were plenty of staff around waiting tables and backing the bar. I ordered a blackened fish sandwich and a draft beer. The beer came right away in a plastic mug. The pour was less than 12 oz. (small mug) and the brew was barely chilled. Almost room temperature. After 20 minutes and no fish sandwich, the bar lady came by and asked me: "Did you get your fish sandwich?" I said no. She then went in the main building (presumably where the kitchen is located) coming out a few minutes later while holding up 2 fingers, mouthing "2 minutes." The sandwich was $22 without fries (which were and extra $9 as a side). I didn't order those. The half-pint warm beer was $8. About 7 minutes later, another server came from the main building and delivered a scrawny, soggy bun containing a thick, small, undercooked, hunk of blackened fish flesh only 80% skin free. I had to finish the filleting myself. The toppings were parsley and onion. It was the ugliest and most tasteless blackened fish sandwich I have ever been served. I should've taken a photo. Anyway, by this point, I was in a hurry to get out of there as the place was a total fail. I picked at the fish with my fork and knife and ate the part that was actually meat and cooked, leaving the rest (skin included) and the soggy bun on the plate. With an 18% gratuity included, a simple grilled fish sandwich with no sides and a warm beer came out to almost $40. On the positive side, the view of the water and the Miami - Brickell skyline was good. However, I won't be coming back to this joint again. If I could give it Zero stars, I would.

To call Eddie's Place a dive bar doesn't quite do it justice. That makes it sound like some…read moredecrepit old watering hole that gave up on itself years ago, and that's not the case here. Eddie's, established in the early 70s, feels more like a career criminal who found religion, just got out, and now swears he's trying to get his life together. Would a true dive keep a decades-old black-and-white tube TV around so you can watch your car? Additional amenities include an ATM, a combination photo booth/jukebox, and even a cell phone charging station, which means Eddie somehow supports bad decisions and the evidence they leave behind. This isn't Eddie's Bistro or Eddie's Café, it's just his Place, so don't show up expecting anyone to cook for you. Aside from chips, the bar skips food altogether. Still, Eddie's plays to its strengths: it encourages you to bring your own food or order in, as long as you keep the bartenders busy. "Cocktails" arrive in ribbed plastic cups, but shots and beer arrive in proper glassware, which is this bar's version of caviar service. A free pool table anchors the room, while one corner hosts beer pong and another area for old-timers to throw darts. Drinks run from $6 to $12, and Happy Hour sweetens the deal with 2-for-1 wells until 8 p.m. That special feels a little sad Monday through Wednesday, when the bar opens at 7 PM. However, it absolutely slaps Thursday through Sunday, when doors open at 2 PM. I rolled in after The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is exactly the kind of demoralizing movie that demands a drink. It was Goth Night, although the DJ seemed to be the only person who got the memo. She kept the room moving with dark house and classic goth tracks, giving the Place the energy of a house party with a fog machine and a hit-heavy playlist. Eventually, she veered from Bauhaus and Combichrist into Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris, which felt less like genre betrayal and more like a Wedding DJ loosening their tie. Eddie's Place delivers the holy trinity of a proper neighborhood bar: cheap booze, zero pretension, and just enough chaos to make you stay for one last round over and over again.

Nice little dive bar!!!…read more My friend suggested this place that he goes to near his place. It's a small bar but they definitely decorated for Halloween. They only had one pool table but it was free. The drinks were a great price and they even had a jukebox. I honestly think I spent more on picking songs than the drinks we had. Overall we had a great time and we will be back again. Service was great as well. Bartenders were super nice.
