It looked super nice, the fries were good but the meat was tough and had plenty of fibers inside making it hard to chew. There were some pieces that I had to take out. I hope that this review gives you constructive insight to make your place better. They did give us a cannoli on the house to make up for the food problems which was nice. They have live mariachis on certain days, awesome happy hour specials, and on weekend nights the bar turns into a fun little nightclub with music, dancing, and lots of energy while still feeling welcoming to families and groups. While I'd not visited Porterhouse before, when we came here recently we actually considered it a happy find. We were in Aventura looking for a late dinner spot on a Thursday, and were originally planning to go to Houston's, but noted it closes early. An internet search for steakhouses turned up Porterhouse which was open until late, so we decided to check it out. They sat us right away, together on a couch at a table usually meant for 4 and we were given the food menu, cocktail menu and their wine list. We decided to start with a cocktail, which were well-poured and reasonably priced. We then ordered the burrata and toasted bread as an appetizer, and for our entrees we requested the NY strip, branzino fish, mac & cheese and asparagus, all to share. We also had a bottle of wine with dinner. Everything we had was good, and the service was attentive throughout our time here. The only real disappointments were: 1) The sparse presentation of the burrata salad (see photo). It was described in the menu as "creamy 4 oz burrata served with heirloom tomato, ripe peaches, olive oil, white balsamic reduction and fresh graded hazelnuts topped with micro greens". What we were served was just a ball of burrata with some un-ripe tomato wedges and a sprinkling of nuts, but the presentation was certainly lacking vs. many other restaurants that offer that dish. 2) I personally found the branzino to be a bit flavorless, again, comparing that fish here to what we've had elsewhere. Aside from those few notes, everything we had was fine, and the NY strip was VERY flavorful and tender. Prices here are more or less in-line with other better steakhouses in the Miami area, but we were surprised by how reasonably priced some of their wines were at Porterhouse compared to many other restaurants. Their wine pricing alone may be enough to lure us back. This restaurant was listed as being open until 2 a.m. that night, but surprisingly, they began calling last call for the kitchen a few hours before that. Also, note they include an automatic 20% service charge on all checks. We chose to sit on the patio in front (which was great with the ocean breeze and the view of the waterfalls in front of the buildings across from this place), but when I went inside to use the restroom it looked quite lively and fun, and next time we may choose to sit at the bar. They had karaoke on that night and then changed to a DJ, and the very large bar and indoor dining area were quite full and the patrons appeared to be having a good time.

Our table ordered a milanesa sandwich, milanesa a caballo, gnocchi with pink sauce, and matambre. The matambre was excellent: well seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The beef milanesas were also tender, but, in my opinion, they were sliced a little too thin. In the sandwich, the tomato ended up being more noticeable than the meat, and since I was expecting the milanesa to be the star of the dish, I was a little disappointed. That said, the bread was fantastic. The gnocchi were good overall. I really enjoyed the pink sauce, although the pasta itself seemed just a bit overcooked. To finish the meal, we ordered cappuccinos. They were wonderfully creamy, though I personally would have liked the coffee to be a little stronger. The medialunas were excellent--fresh, soft, buttery, and delicious. To top off the night, I took home a box of ham and cheese tea sandwiches (sándwiches de miga). This morning I toasted a couple for breakfast, and honestly, it was the best part of my day so far.
