Good China Express This is a review for my takeout experience at Good China Express. LOCATION: Good China Express is located in a plaza next to LA Fitness. Parking is easy to come by. MENU: They have your typical combo plates and entrees of house noodles, tangerine chicken, and beef and broccoli. House noodles were good. CHICKEN WINGS: -Their chicken wings are the star! Fried and seasoned very well. If you're ordering for a party I would call them in advance. Monday-Sunday 10:30am-9:00pm (562)634-2922 -I also like their chop suey vegetables. It comes with cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and baby corn. So simple, but very tasty. -Their chili oil and hot sauce are a perfect pairing to your entrees. I like adding it to my noodles and chicken wings for an extra kick and flavor. SERVICE: The workers were friendly. They even added an egg roll to my combo order. Thank you! TABLES: They do have many tables available if you wanted to eat at the restaurant, but I opted to take my food to go. All in all a solid place to get Chinese food.

I'm not really sure what all the bad reviews are about . Service was fast and friendly and they definitely did not disappoint with the portions. I got a combo c and it was packed so much that my third side had to go in a different box. There's a good amount of tables to eat inside but I took my food to-go. Establishment was clean and everything smelled so good walking in. I think the only thing that made me sad was that the fortune cookies weren't included with the meal (it was a small purchase price) but one of three fortune cookies we bought was completely empty

Stopped by for a quick meal. We came for lunch on a weekday and surprisingly lots of foot traffic coming in for takeout! It's in a quiet strip mall so plenty of parking. Food tasted pretty good and at a good price point. We got two item combos. Like other Chinese fast food, you have choice of white rice or fried rice and any other entree items. If you want just one item they can put into a bowl instead for the same price. The tangerine and orange chicken are tasty. The beef and other chicken entrees are seasoned well so no need to add sauce but you can ask for some. Chili oil is $1 extra.

Stopped by to get a quick dinner to go. Walked in and the place smelled great and looked good. The food was good and the plates were packed to the brim. I got a Combo B with all fried rice, tangerine chicken and teriyaki chicken with extra teriyaki sauce over the rice. All for $11.99 plus tax. Also got a Combo C with half & half, beef & broccoli, tangerine chicken & kong pow chicken. All for $14.99. All the food was good and delicious. I would definitely go back for more. For the price and serving sizes it's well worth it.

Used to come here as a highschooler been coming here for years my grandmother used to bring me here with all due respect your quality has gone down food is just okay and doesn't taste amazing just mediocre and you guys used to give more on the portions of chow mein and rice now you give baby scoops step it up they just opened and their food taste old

The service was cool. Lots of places to sit, there wasn't a big line, so we didn't have to wait to get to get served or to get a seat. The price was average. Overall I'd say that this place is okay. Not great but not bad. I ordered the red chicken and pork. The chow mien was good but the pork tasted a lil too salty for my taste. The red chicken good. I'm not hating on the spot just saying what my experience was. The people behind the counter were cool, I liked them. The ladies behind the counter are friendly. They were cracking jokes and nice. I spent like $17 bucks and got a combo B which was two entrees, a can of root beer, two lil Sriracha cups and two fortune cookies. I'll definitely come back again if I'm in the area.

First impressions: Your typical, local Chinese fast food spot. Decor is serviceable, not like you're taking anyone here for a first date (no judgement if you do). The food is set out behind glass so you can see what it is you want. I always eat with my eyes so this is good for me. The price is super cheap... I almost feel guilty. This is a family owned business and I've met the son and I think aunt or grandmother also works here (you can tell with Asian people, we're all ageless until we hit our 80s). I love seeing them work together as a family, makes my heart feel good supporting them over Panda Express. It's pandemic times so you know these small businesses are struggling, so I try to come often and tip generously even if I'm doing take out versus dine in. I wouldn't want this spot to close down The Noms: Tangerine chicken is my favorite, hands down. I love the flavor and the crispiness is always on point every time I get it. I usually like to do combo B (two items) and get a mix of the fried rice with the chow main. Their chili oil is super bomb. It's spicy and garlicky and aromatic. I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. I always buy a container to go and bring it back to NYC (in a glass container that's triple wrapped in plastic cling wrap.) I love it on everything, pizza, sandwiches, egg rolls, etc etc. Get some to take home, you'll love it. In Conclusion: 10/10 would recommend as this is my go-to spot (in Cali) for Chinese fast food. Simple, fast, delicious food and friendly family owned restaurant.

This is $13 dollars worth of Egg Foo Young. Ha!! Oh brother!
    Gina C.

Terrible rip off!! This costs 13 bucks, oh and a small cup of white rice. No meat at all. No gravy as I asked for. Cup of teriyaki. Hard and filled with corn, lol. Like no egg foo young I've ever had. When I called to ask them if this is correct... She said yes prices have gone up. I buy eggs too restaurant people and this is not $13 worth. Just a heads up...

Today we were approaching hangry, and knew that if we ordered a lunch special, we'd get delicious soup almost instantly, and we'd have leftovers for dinner! My partner was craving the kung pao tofu which blends with the brown rice beautifully, as does my order, the Chili Chicken, so garlicky and tender. We were also craving the spicy green beans, the perfect blend of crunchy and tender, spicy with the perfect touch of sweet! Be sure to consider some of our other favorites: the hand made chow mein (noodles alive and freshly made), the beef is simply crazy tender and lovely, ANY of the vegetables and tofu, and all their soups are to die for. They make their own ginger ale; but if you are wanting to boost your immunity or simply avoid the sugar syrup, I paid for a ginger ale but requested just the ginger juice (super hot and strong), and drank half and chased it with my diet coke and poured the rest in my soda for a ginger diet coke with lemon (yum). So much parking, trader joes next door if you need groceries, family owned and run, and OH, by the way, it's all HALAL (i.e.,) no pork dishes

Overall, we had a good dining experience, but there was one thing that really bothered us. We were still dining around 8:00 PM when the staff started cleaning the tables with bleach. The smell was extremely strong and made it uncomfortable to continue eating. We ended up quickly finishing our dinner and leaving because the bleach odor was overwhelming. I understand that cleaning is necessary, but I feel it would be better to do this after guests have finished dining, especially while the restaurant is still serving customers. Other than that, we enjoyed the food, service, and ambience.

I wanted to find out if this spot was as good as I had remembered it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was practically disappointed by two out of the three dishes. Two of them that should've been the best. I'll start out with the Mongolian beef. There was plenty of meat and onions and green onions, but there was no kick to it, not the greatest flavor either. It was also a little watery, which was a major letdown for me. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with the white rice that came with it. Next up was the chicken chow mein. I was expecting to have long noodles in its to go box but when I was eating it, it was small noodle cuts. That was a bit shocking for me. It also didn't have a lot of great flavor, and again I was let down. I did get vegetable fried rice, because who could actually screw that up. It was the best dish out of the three. Not a ton of flavor in it but enough for me to actually enjoy it. I tried using the leftover chow mein by putting it in a skillet and adding a few spices and oils. It improved it just a little bit, but not enough. Clearly, I can't go back here. It's like they say: buy cheap get cheap.

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. I thought both were quite good. You get plenty of protein and each dish tasted exactly how you'd expect them to taste. Highly recommend L V if you're in the mood for good ole Chinese food.

There's loads of amazing Thai places in Long Beach but you tend to go you the ones you like. I been to a good amount where they're highly rated but something about them isn't what I'm looking for. Some tends to be very Americanize, others are just whatever but people love them. I like what I like and this place is one of them. Like mentioned, whenever I'm in Long Beach a visit here is always a must. The service is amazing as all the staffs are very friendly and welcoming. The place isn't that big but a fairly decent amount of seating on both side. They do have a table out front but it's only one. Menu has pretty much a good selection of Thai dishes. I like what I like and tend to go for the same items as they are one of the place that makes it the way I prefer. And why is it some Thai places don't offer their classic dish, the boat noodles. I've been to a few and they don't offer it while some places, it's not that good. Here, it's alway consistent and very flavorful. That a must for me and alway ordered. We also love the papaya salad which you can have Thai style or Laos style. Depending on what your preference is. Their larb is great as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Of course our main items we tend to get here, the boat noodles which I love as it's flavorful, broth is perfect and all the extras added. Also all their curries are excellent. Lately we've been getting their massaman curries which the flavors is really nice. Whatever protein you like. The curries do come with a side of rice but an extra order is alway needed. Love it to have with the papaya salad and larb. All their dishes are great and very flavorful. There's two restaurants that's a door apart and both are great but this one takes the cake for me. It's always a must when I'm in town as I know the food will alway be delicious. Highly recommended.
