Good China Express This is a review for my takeout experience at Good China Express. LOCATION: Good China Express is located in a plaza next to LA Fitness. Parking is easy to come by. MENU: They have your typical combo plates and entrees of house noodles, tangerine chicken, and beef and broccoli. House noodles were good. CHICKEN WINGS: -Their chicken wings are the star! Fried and seasoned very well. If you're ordering for a party I would call them in advance. Monday-Sunday 10:30am-9:00pm (562)634-2922 -I also like their chop suey vegetables. It comes with cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and baby corn. So simple, but very tasty. -Their chili oil and hot sauce are a perfect pairing to your entrees. I like adding it to my noodles and chicken wings for an extra kick and flavor. SERVICE: The workers were friendly. They even added an egg roll to my combo order. Thank you! TABLES: [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have many tables available if you wanted to eat at the restaurant, but I opted to take my food to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all a solid place to get Chinese food.

I'm not really sure what all the bad reviews are about . Service was fast and friendly and they definitely did not disappoint with the portions. I got a combo c and it was packed so much that my third side had to go in a different box. There's a good amount of tables to eat inside but I took my food to-go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Establishment was clean and everything smelled so good walking in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think the only thing that made me sad was that the fortune cookies weren't included with the meal (it was a small purchase price) but one of three fortune cookies we bought was completely empty

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped by for a quick meal. We came for lunch on a weekday and surprisingly lots of foot traffic coming in for takeout![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's in a quiet strip mall so plenty of parking. Food tasted pretty good and at a good price point. We got two item combos. Like other Chinese fast food, you have choice of white rice or fried rice and any other entree items. If you want just one item they can put into a bowl instead for the same price. The tangerine and orange chicken are tasty. The beef and other chicken entrees are seasoned well so no need to add sauce but you can ask for some. Chili oil is $1 extra.

Stopped by to get a quick dinner to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walked in and the place smelled great and looked good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good and the plates were packed to the brim. I got a Combo B with all fried rice, tangerine chicken and teriyaki chicken with extra teriyaki sauce over the rice. All for $11.99 plus tax. Also got a Combo C with half & half, beef & broccoli, tangerine chicken & kong pow chicken. All for $14.99. All the food was good and delicious. I would definitely go back for more. For the price and serving sizes it's well worth it.

Used to come here as a highschooler been coming here for years my grandmother used to bring me here with all due respect your quality has gone down food is just okay and doesn't taste amazing just mediocre and you guys used to give more on the portions of chow mein and rice now you give baby scoops step it up they just opened and their food taste old

The service was cool. Lots of places to sit, there wasn't a big line, so we didn't have to wait to get to get served or to get a seat. The price was average. Overall I'd say that this place is okay. Not great but not bad. I ordered the red chicken and pork. The chow mien was good but the pork tasted a lil too salty for my taste. The red chicken good. I'm not hating on the spot just saying what my experience was. The people behind the counter were cool, I liked them. The ladies behind the counter are friendly. They were cracking jokes and nice. I spent like $17 bucks and got a combo B which was two entrees, a can of root beer, two lil Sriracha cups and two fortune cookies. I'll definitely come back again if I'm in the area.

First impressions: Your typical, local Chinese fast food spot. Decor is serviceable, not like you're taking anyone here for a first date (no judgement if you do). The food is set out behind glass so you can see what it is you want. I always eat with my eyes so this is good for me. The price is super cheap... I almost feel guilty. This is a family owned business and I've met the son and I think aunt or grandmother also works here (you can tell with Asian people, we're all ageless until we hit our 80s). I love seeing them work together as a family, makes my heart feel good supporting them over Panda Express. It's pandemic times so you know these small businesses are struggling, so I try to come often and tip generously even if I'm doing take out versus dine in. I wouldn't want this spot to close down The Noms: Tangerine chicken is my favorite, hands down. I love the flavor and the crispiness is always on point every time I get it. I usually like to do combo B (two items) and get a mix of the fried rice with the chow main. Their chili oil is super bomb. It's spicy and garlicky and aromatic. I haven't found anything like it anywhere else. I always buy a container to go and bring it back to NYC (in a glass container that's triple wrapped in plastic cling wrap.) I love it on everything, pizza, sandwiches, egg rolls, etc etc. Get some to take home, you'll love it. In Conclusion: 10/10 would recommend as this is my go-to spot (in Cali) for Chinese fast food. Simple, fast, delicious food and friendly family owned restaurant.

This is $13 dollars worth of Egg Foo Young. Ha!! Oh brother!
    Gina C.

Terrible rip off!! This costs 13 bucks, oh and a small cup of white rice. No meat at all. No gravy as I asked for. Cup of teriyaki. Hard and filled with corn, lol. Like no egg foo young I've ever had. When I called to ask them if this is correct... She said yes prices have gone up. I buy eggs too restaurant people and this is not $13 worth. Just a heads up...

Food was pretty tasty. Came here around lunch time. Read some reviews about staff being rude. I didn't experience that today. The lady that helped me was nice and smiled, I knew she smiled even though she was wearing a mask. I got the two item combo and they were delicious. FYI, they charge $0.60 fir credit/debit cards. Parking can get busy during lunch/rush hour. But I'm sure it's not as bad because of the Covid stuff going on.

Parking is a bit of a game of chance thanks to the tiny lot, so plan accordingly. Once you're inside though, the restaurant is super clean, modern, and the service is fast and attentive. We started with the papaya salad. It was just okay--I'm still trying to figure out why there was a blanket of romaine lettuce casually lounging on top. I ordered medium spice, which turned out to be "medium if you breathe fire for fun." The papaya was also a little more raw than I personally like. The tom kha soup was decent, but the real MVP was the drunken noodles with beef. Those noodles were absolutely swimming in savory goodness and perfectly soft. I would've happily ordered a second plate and called it "dessert." Overall, I'd definitely come back--mostly because those drunken noodles are already living rent-free in my head.

My family and I were heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific and wanted to find a good dinner spot…read morenearby afterward. I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

Food came out in a good time, especially considering there was a large party having a birthday party at the same time. We ordered a number of entrees and 2 appetizers. Everything was pretty good with my standouts being the hand-pulled noodles and the tofu & shiitake mushroom entree. You could tell the hand-pulled noodles were fresh and made by hand. The sauce on it was good but too salty. The tofu & shiitake dish was served in a savory and tasty home/brown sauce. The scallion pancake was good as well, just much thinner than other scallion pancakes. The Chinese broccoli was good, but I thought it was more bitter than usual Chinese broccoli dishes. The fried rice was okay.

We were seated and the food came out quickly, but after that, service was a bit slow. We tried several things including the crab and pork soup dumplings, shrimp wonton in chili oil, house beef noodle soup, orange chicken, and walnut shrimp. Definitely a place you can easily have a family style meal at! Crab and pork soup dumplings - really good flavor, wish there was slightly more soup in the dumpling! Would definitely get again, especially if you get their HH price Walnut shrimp - my new favorite walnut shrimp in the area! These came out nice and fresh, shrimp was cooked well, sauce was good balance of sweet and savory Beef noodle soup - broth was surprisingly not as hearty as the deep color would make you think, but still very full of beef flavor. The beef was very tender, melt in your mouth! Noodles were nicely bouncy with mild chew. Good option if you are in the mood for noodle soup Orange chicken - unfortunately seemed to be a mix of freshly cooked and an old order as some pieces were warmer than others. Good flavor, but chicken inside the breading was quite dry. Wish it was a bit saucier Shrimp wonton in chili oil - to me had a strange aftertaste. It does have cucumber in the wonton - warm cucumber taste was not for me Inside had a rustic appearance with brick walls and industrial lights. A good place to eat with a few friends and try different things. Would come back for the walnut shrimp and crab and pork soup dumplings!

I wanted to find out if this spot was as good as I had remembered it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was practically disappointed by two out of the three dishes. Two of them that should've been the best. I'll start out with the Mongolian beef. There was plenty of meat and onions and green onions, but there was no kick to it, not the greatest flavor either. It was also a little watery, which was a major letdown for me. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with the white rice that came with it. Next up was the chicken chow mein. I was expecting to have long noodles in its to go box but when I was eating it, it was small noodle cuts. That was a bit shocking for me. It also didn't have a lot of great flavor, and again I was let down. I did get vegetable fried rice, because who could actually screw that up. It was the best dish out of the three. Not a ton of flavor in it but enough for me to actually enjoy it. I tried using the leftover chow mein by putting it in a skillet and adding a few spices and oils. It improved it just a little bit, but not enough. Clearly, I can't go back here. It's like they say: buy cheap get cheap.

We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using.
