My mom wanted Chinese food for her birthday dinner. We only knew about this place due to social media. We decided to try it out as we normally go to the same one or two places. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's in a small strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside. Not very big inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fortunately we arrived early as it continued to get busier while we were there...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the "family deal" which was $18.50 per person and that included 1 entree each, soup, 1 egg roll, 2 fried shrimp and fried rice. We also added an order of chow mein. It was a LOT of food. We had a ton of leftovers. It'll probably get us another 1-2 meals each! I thought that was a great deal. My mom enjoyed it a lot (which was the goal and what mattered!). My husband and daughter enjoyed it as well. I'm not super into Chinese food but thought it was fine. (I actually prefer leftover cold Chinese food). One thing that stood out and I really liked was that they serve a plate of crunchy chow mein noodles to start. I haven't seen that in quite some time. We like dipping them in sweet and sour sauce; although I didn't care that much for theirs, it was very runny, I like a thicker consistency.

    134. Shrimp Fried Rice 10/10 this my plate. Large serves 2 1/2 people. Fried Shrimp large order 10/10 so bomb.

I'm back enjoying this delicious food on this beautiful Mother's Day 5-10-2026. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As always this og spot is clean and although a bit eclectic this is a true mom and pop with a flair for solid good fresh made food without all of the fluff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is welcoming and lowkey in this restaurant, place your order you can sit inside the restaurant or in your car while the order is made in a timely manner. Today's order is my favorite Shrimp Fried Rice and Fried Shrimp. Shrimp Fried Rice Tender shrimp and fried rice seasoned well with extra green onions. it's very good and some of the best fried rice I have eaten in the city of Long Beach. 10/10 Fried Shrimp Crispy clean so tasty and the bomb .com they're very good with the sweet and sour sauce. 10/10 Pepsi A can an of Pepsi served on ice is a perfect beverage and refreshing drink to enjoy with salty spicy and seasoned food. Please see my prior reviews for more in depth detailed information regarding other food items pictures menu's and recommendations. The portions are large enough for 2 1/2 servings and everything is fresh made to order. The food is delicious. What more do you want . Until next time. Shawn C.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't let the ambience for you it was simple a table with bench seat, seats, condiments at the end[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But I was hankering for Chinese food so I decided to go out and get some sweet-and-sour pork, some Szechuan chicken, noodles and rice. The wait time was maybe five minutes. The food came out piping hot with lots of flavor. I regret not ordering fried rice instead of regular rice, but it was all good with a little chili sauce and soy sauce. That and a good appetite gave everything an extra level of goodness. Service was excellent prices were good and the food was certainly better than any fast food Chinese.

Ordered to be delivered: Hot and Sour Soup, Vegetable Egg Rolls, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, and Sweet and Sour Pork. AS ALWAYS, food delivered on-time, hot and freshly prepared with fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious. This is hands-down my favorite #1 Chinese food restaurant !!! The Golden Phoenix - you guys are doing a fantastic job!

This place is always good. They have a good selection of everything. We order family style and typically get: beef broccoli, orange chicken, orange tofu, cashew chicken, and honey walnut shrimp. The chow menu is great also. Parking is limited in lot out front of restaurant, but we always find a spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is limited inside maybe 6-8 tables total.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. I will definitely be ordering out or coming in for Chinese because that reminded of many other places that put out fantastic dishes.

We had plenty to share, which is always a plus. The restaurant has a nice family-style vibe, but it's a lot smaller inside than it looks from the outside. If it's busy, it can feel pretty cramped, and you'll probably have to squeeze between tables and chairs to get around. If it's not crowded though, it's much easier to move around. The service was fast, which I appreciated. The only downside was the food runner who brought out our meals. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using. It felt a little careless and took away from an otherwise good experience. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight, but because of that experience with the service, it'll probably be a while before I come back.

I absolutely loved the crispy bottom layer because it added such a satisfying crunch to every bite. The inside stayed really juicy and flavorful with a good balance of pork, shrimp, and chives. The Juicy Pork Dumplings had soup inside, which was rich and savory. I've had soup dumplings before where the wrapper breaks apart too easily, but these held together nicely while still staying soft and delicate. The Wonton in Spicy Sauce was my personal favorite from the entire meal. The spicy sauce flavor was savory with a little sweetness. I'm typically not good with spice, so this is at a spice level that should be very manageable for everyone. I absolutely loved the spicy sauce, so I started putting it on everything. Definitely put the sauce on the chicken fried rice! The Chicken Fried Rice was a great dish to pair with everything else that we ordered. With several orders of entrees, a solid rice dish is a must order for any Chinese meal. The rice had a nice savory flavor that I enjoyed, and there was a generous amount of chicken mixed throughout the dish. I even asked the waitress if they do anything special with the fried rice because it tasted better than many other restaurants. It felt comforting and balanced compared to some of the heavier dishes. The Dry Fried String Beans were cooked perfectly with a slight crispness while still being tender. The garlic and seasoning gave them so much flavor that it honestly didn't even feel like I was eating vegetables. I do have to note that these were very much on the salty side, so if you don't like foods that are too salty, I would choose a different dish. The Orange Chicken was really crispy and juicy, which I appreciated because soggy orange chicken is always disappointing to me. The sauce had a nice citrus flavor while still keeping that classic sweet savory taste. The Spring Rolls were simple with vegetable filling on the inside with a crispy outside. I would try a different appetizer next time. The Kung Pao Shrimp was packed with flavor and had a really satisfying combination of textures. The shrimp were tender, and the peanuts added a great crunch to the dish. I thought the sauce had a really nice balance of spice and savoriness without becoming overwhelming. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Beef Roll Pancake. The pancake itself was nice and chewy throughout each bite. The sliced beef with green onions and sauce all wrapped together made every bite really flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba. I really liked that the jasmine tea flavor was noticeable instead of being overly sweet like some milk teas can be. The boba had a soft chewy texture, and the drink itself paired perfectly with the spicy and savory dishes from the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were quick and friendly Ambiance: Indoor seating only. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

At first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the overall experience was better than I anticipated. The seasoning was a little strong, and some dishes had a fairly familiar, standardized taste. Nothing was bad, and everything was prepared well, but I do feel a little disappointed when the authentic flavors of traditional Chinese food become less noticeable. There were four of us, and we ordered about eight or nine of their most popular dishes. My parents really enjoyed the food. I have worked in China before, so I may be a little more sensitive and particular when it comes to Chinese food. Overall, the restaurant has good reviews, the prices are reasonable, and it was a pretty good dining experience.

Standouts were the scallop-shrimp dumplings and the pork & shrimp shiu mai. The Young Chow Fried Rice with the extra Lap Cheong was excellent. The baked egg custard tarts were textbook and remain a personal favorite since childhood. A neighboring older Chinese woman offered me a sample of the Pork Hame Sui Gok; it was outstanding and I will order it next time. I shared some of my extras with her in return. Service was attentive, Ricky was quick with food and drinks. The same woman had already told me "he's the best." I deliberately ordered extra for leftovers (dinner that night and breakfast before an early flight home to the Carson Valley). Criticism that their dim sum dishes are expensive is valid, but I don't mind spending for their dishes because they generally serve giant, protein-filled dumplings and I enjoy that their dim sum is made to order. The other reasons that could yield a two- or three-star experience here are that service isn't great and some of their dim sum offerings, such as their xiao long bao (soup dumplings) aren't great. I also don't like that they charge you like $2 for a small container of chili oil. I do enjoy their fried offerings and their shiu mai and they're quite filling. This time, I got their mala spiced har gow and their chili won tons. Both were okay, but I don't think that I'd order them again. I understand why one could rate this as a three-star dining experience; however, it remains my local go-to option for dim sum because of their large dumpings, their made-to-order dishes, and because they're dumplings are pretty filled to the brim with meat.
