    Chicken Chow Fun

Ordered to go once I arrived and it was done in 15 minutes. Very friendly, kind service that gave me recommendations. Well packed too. All three dishes were wonderful. The portions filled the containers. The kung pao was enough for three portions. Not really spicy but I love that it did have peanuts. Honey Walnut Shrimp had a nice breading, not too thick, and balanced sweet sauce. I was surprised at how many walnuts there were, generous. Chow mien had a good char and solid favor. Things were not overly salty. I appreciate that it was all cooked to order. Great late night spot.

Found this gem after a facebook recommendation. I actually live around the corner and thankfully I now have a go to place for Chinese food. Service was great and food was delicious. It's your typical hole in the wall place. Decore was decent but we're not there for the decor, we go cause of the food. Will certainly come back.

The two people menu will feed for for $25.99

If anybody is hungry please come give these people you're business. From the outside this restaurant looks unappealing but when you come inside it's clean and modern and plenty of room for sitting. The food is made to order and is very large in portions. We ordered the dinner two people menu for $25.99, it was enough food for at least four people with the two entrees. I wish I had come here sooner. I don't live but a little way from here, and have driven by so many times. They are open till 11:00 tonight. They do not accept cash so be ready to pay with your card. The address is 1320 West Willow Street, phone is 562-981-7500 Lucky Chopsticks. Great assortment and everything that we had was so delicious and fresh to order, the friendly waitress is eager for us, that would include you too, to share their menu and pictures so here you go...

Unfortunately all I have is photos of the aftermath. The food here is delicious, service is wonderful, and the place is clean and tidy! The owners are so friendly and the prices are honestly very reasonable. We definitely will be dining here again!

    Orange chicken

I really wanted to like this place, but I was greatly disappointed! Orange chicken is one of my go-to's when ordering Chinese food, and theirs just isn't good! I read another review that said Trader Joe's frozen orange chicken was better, and it really is! The texture was not crisp, the meat was a little dry, and the orange flavor is very tangy. I also ordered the chow mein, and that was just okay... not horrible but also not great! Lastly, no fortune cookies? That is Chinese takeout 101 and there was no fortune cookie given with my order. I'll just have to keep driving to Carson when I want amazing Chinese food

This spot might not look super inviting from the outside, but trust me -- once you walk in, the staff at Lucky Chopsticks make you feel right at home. They're so friendly and the food is way better than you'd expect for the price. We got the $25.99 combo deal, which came with two fried rice, hot and sour soup, chicken string bean, jalapeño chicken, and two eggrolls -- a ton of food for two people (and still had leftovers!). Everything was delicious, but the jalapeño chicken was the star -- that sauce is amazing, I wish I could take some home! Great service, great portions, and great flavors. Hidden gem for sure!

When we first walked in the inside was very warm, but the waitress then turned the fan on for us, and it made it a lot more comfortable in there. We were the only ones in there so it was a little worrisome, but we were greeted with happy, smiles and friendliness. We did the dinner special that was like 25 bucks for eggrolls soup, two entrées, and two sides of rice it was really good. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area even though it is a little ghetto seeming outside. Also, don't forget to get yourself a side of chili sauce so good and all homemade.

Today we were approaching hangry, and knew that if we ordered a lunch special, we'd get delicious soup almost instantly, and we'd have leftovers for dinner! We were also craving the spicy green beans, the perfect blend of crunchy and tender, spicy with the perfect touch of sweet! Be sure to consider some of our other favorites: the hand made chow mein (noodles alive and freshly made), the beef is simply crazy tender and lovely, ANY of the vegetables and tofu, and all their soups are to die for. They make their own ginger ale; but if you are wanting to boost your immunity or simply avoid the sugar syrup, I paid for a ginger ale but requested just the ginger juice (super hot and strong), and drank half and chased it with my diet coke and poured the rest in my soda for a ginger diet coke with lemon (yum). I wanted to find out if this spot was as good as I had remembered it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was practically disappointed by two out of the three dishes. Two of them that should've been the best. I'll start out with the Mongolian beef. There was plenty of meat and onions and green onions, but there was no kick to it, not the greatest flavor either. It was also a little watery, which was a major letdown for me. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with the white rice that came with it. Next up was the chicken chow mein. I was expecting to have long noodles in its to go box but when I was eating it, it was small noodle cuts. That was a bit shocking for me. It also didn't have a lot of great flavor, and again I was let down. I did get vegetable fried rice, because who could actually screw that up. It was the best dish out of the three. Not a ton of flavor in it but enough for me to actually enjoy it. I tried using the leftover chow mein by putting it in a skillet and adding a few spices and oils. It improved it just a little bit, but not enough. Clearly, I can't go back here. It's like they say: buy cheap get cheap.

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. There's loads of amazing Thai places in Long Beach but you tend to go you the ones you like. I been to a good amount where they're highly rated but something about them isn't what I'm looking for. Some tends to be very Americanize, others are just whatever but people love them. I like what I like and this place is one of them. Like mentioned, whenever I'm in Long Beach a visit here is always a must. The service is amazing as all the staffs are very friendly and welcoming. The place isn't that big but a fairly decent amount of seating on both side. They do have a table out front but it's only one. Menu has pretty much a good selection of Thai dishes. I like what I like and tend to go for the same items as they are one of the place that makes it the way I prefer. And why is it some Thai places don't offer their classic dish, the boat noodles. I've been to a few and they don't offer it while some places, it's not that good. Here, it's alway consistent and very flavorful. That a must for me and alway ordered. We also love the papaya salad which you can have Thai style or Laos style. Depending on what your preference is. Their larb is great as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Of course our main items we tend to get here, the boat noodles which I love as it's flavorful, broth is perfect and all the extras added. Also all their curries are excellent. Lately we've been getting their massaman curries which the flavors is really nice. Whatever protein you like. The curries do come with a side of rice but an extra order is alway needed. Love it to have with the papaya salad and larb. All their dishes are great and very flavorful. There's two restaurants that's a door apart and both are great but this one takes the cake for me. It's always a must when I'm in town as I know the food will alway be delicious. Highly recommended.
