Went back again, still love! It was a quick meetup so we just did the bread & butter & some beers, but it's the quality of the ingredients and the little touches like the dope ass dishes that make this place stand out. Ian's amazing. He's always kind, accommodating and happy to help (and also around just enough). My friend is super old school and needed a paper menu (and paid in paper money!) Ian was on it! And when he couldn't decide on a beer, Ian asked a couple questions and brought him something he enjoyed! For me, I tried the other Mikkeller, just for the sake of trying it. It was v hoppy and not one I'd get again, but I tried it! I'm team raspberry all the way! The bread. Perfect. Warm, crispy edges, soft center, went great w the butter that was a little salty and perfect. Traveling in Europe helped me appreciate how amazing bread and butter can be when done right. GCF gets that. As I said, their dishes are amazingly cute! Gold 'silverware' and prints and colors that feel springy and a bit Easter like for me. Musics always on point, I sang so many songs as I enjoyed my time there. Also love the ordering system. Everything's on the phone, and unless you're dining w a cave person, no need to touch any pesky paper! Next time I'll do an entree as they all sound amazing! Can't say enough good things. read more

What a delicious dinner I had here tonight! Went on Yelp searching for pizza & pasta and this place came up on the results list. Do not let the unassuming name of the restaurant fool ya, the food is really good here & you can taste the quality & freshness of the ingredients. I had, to start, a Caesar salad - that must be one of the best I've ever had, burrata with olive oil - the cheese was so soft like butter, pasta al pomodoro - highly recommend, and the spicy pepperoni pizza. Everything we ordered was very flavorful & there's a big selection on drinks/wines. I had a mojito & it was good. Great spot for a date night or casual night out with friends. This rating is merely on my EXPERIENCE there. My coworker talked me into trying this place out and treating myself to dinner, which I never do and also since I am always looking for the next great spot. She even gave me a list of "must try" here. So I did. The outside ambience is cute and dig that they have music playing (blocking out some of the downtown noise). I also love the convenience of being able to order through my phone and paying the bill from there too. Everything sounds great, right? Well I left wanting to cry, out of frustration. I ordered everything I was told was worth trying, the bread and butter, Caesar salad, Cacio E Pepe Bucatini m, the brownie and even got myself a bottle of wine. The bread and butter came out fairly quick. But, I didn't want to over do it with the bread because I was trying to save room for the salad, pasta and dessert. Well, after 45/50 min the salad was still a no show. A SALAD.. and by this time I was ready to call it a night because all I've had was a piece of bread and a glass of wine. I asked if I was able to just get the food packed up to go. So, $107 later and a forced 20% gratuity added to my bill (which is what I do pay, for great customer service and A+ experience) I had to head home and eat a soggy salad and reheat my pasta out of a brown cardboard box. Didn't even get to the dessert. I must say, even after reheating the pasta it was good. I can imagine it being great, once it's fresh off the stove. These unfortunate events did leave a bad taste in my mouth but I am not completely ruling this place out and possibly giving it a second chance. read more

Love this spot! GCF is right in the heart of downtown and walking distance from tons of other great spots. Great selection of fun wines to buy or sip and Ian, who you'll find popping bottles and saying hello to familiar faces, is the best. There are so many great places to eat and drink downtown, and GCF is one of them for sure! read more

We stopped in at Good Clean Fun tonight with my parents after we picked them up from the airport. Even though it is a wine bar, they were very accommodating with us showing up with my 17 month old daughter. The service was excellent, and the food/wine was even better. My wife and I got a bottle of cab, my mother got a glass of Pinot Grigio, and my father got a glass of cab. They were all fabulous. They also offered a wine sampling with five 1 oz glasses (we didn't get it, but would next time!) We started with a 4 Cheese Pizza and a Meatlovers Pizza. Both were a great start to the meal. We followed them Up with a Caesar Salad, which was delicious! Flavorful, but not overpowering. Then for entrees we split bolognese pasta, and Caccio e Pepe. They were both flavorful and delicious, but not too heavy. We ended the meal with a dessert that was phenomenal. I wish I could have enjoyed more of it, but my daughter didn't want to share! We are only visiting in L.A, but we will definitely be back when we are back in town! read more

Although this might particularly be related to the amazing food and service, "Parking" is a huge deal to me! I was able to park directly across the street in the parking lot, and I was able to literally look at my vehicle the entire time! I firs sat on the rail inside and had a glass of an "Orange" wine that was delightful! Then moved to a table outside to eat. I had some cooked Oysters in a marinara sauce! Soooooooo good! The wine was so good I bought a bottle and took it home! read more

If you're looking for a great natural wine bar in downtown Los Angeles, this is your spot. Excellent food options and really great selection of natural wines. They have the whole spectrum so you can really get ones that are super funky or ones that you wouldn't even expect to be natural. First off, wine selection is kler. The bottle shop is top notch. Service is Great! Thanks Ian! Loved every dish and truly enjoyed my patron dining experience. My friend was so glad that I dragged him there to this hidden gem in the whirlwind which is downtown. Food is top notch and beautifully presented. Next time will make room for dessert. A nice little place for a few cocktails or a glass of wine. The wine selection is interesting. Lots of Austrian red wines to choose from. Food is simple but good. Strolled by this trendy natural wine shop and bar and ordered a wine flight which comes with five samples starting with Prosecco, to white, to orange, to Rose, to red. The types of wine change by the week. Each was refreshing, tasty, and had a good aroma. The shop is situated along Olive Street in DTLA. You can enjoy the ambiance inside or outside along the sidewalk. The service was good as I was acknowledged as soon as I entered the shop and was greeted by a server and explained how to scan the QR code on trendy wine bottles seated on the tables to order. Never had orange wine before but it was definitely my favorite! I recommend checking this place out. read more

During a recent visit to LA I was searching for a restaurant close to my hotel for dinner and came across Good Clean Fun on Yelp. The space and menu looked appealing and it was only a couple blocks away so I thought I would give it a try. The space itself is cute with a nice outdoor patio area. I sat inside at the bar in the window since I was traveling solo. When I was sat I was informed I scan a QR code and order myself, which honestly after a day of traveling is fine - self service, all good. I ordered their caesar, meatballs and a glass of wine. The caesar, while I love parmesan, was overly smothered with it - just too much. The meatballs were good and the sauce tasty. My challenge with this spot was the service. As soon as I was sat someone was leaving two seats down. His dirty dishes sat there the entire time I was eating, despite staff walking by, and one even adjusted it but didn't move it. Just strange and no one wants to sit next to dirty dishes while they eat. While they checked on me once or twice, when I was clearly finished no one came to clear my plates. I decided to order dessert and added that to my tab. After 15 minutes of waiting one of the servers finally checked on me and when I asked about it he said 'oh, I think we are out of that.' So I sat there for 15 minutes for nothing. No apology was made even after I commented that I'd been sitting there waiting for it for 15 minutes - also on the online ordering the other dessert was marked as sold out, so not sure why this one wasn't but also, a ticket was sent to your kitchen, your staff should've addressed it. At that point I was irritated and was told it would he would take it off my ticket - almost like that was a nice gesture, but for an item I didn't receive? I finally departed, with my dirty dishes still sitting there and in the end never received a refund for the dessert I didn't receive. My other staff complaint, they were clearly just hanging out on the side in the wine area chatting and not being attentive to their patrons. Literally just a few feet away from the gentleman who had left upon my arrival dirty dishes completely ignoring them. I think the location and food have potential but it's clearly poorly managed. Would not visit again. read more

Absolutely love this place! They have an incredible happy hour, great drinks, and great food. Ive been almost once a week for awhile now bc it's the perfect place to bring a friend, coworkers, or honestly just to work/study. It's a coffee shop before a certain time. Tried GCF for a 'meet the winemaker' event. It was truly a fantastic night! The winemaker, Kyle Knapp, from Press Gang Cellars was so kind and his wines were incredible. The service and energy of GCF were great!! The food was really really really good! Mole grilled cheese...don't mind if I do. Oysters, Cacio e Pepe (w/truffle) ... oh my! ** 5 stars all around for Good Clean Fun! ** My hubby and I stopped by on a rainy Wednesday evening with reservations and had the absolute best time. We were seated right away for dinner by Ian, who also served us for the night. We came here for the natural wines, but we were blown away by the entire dining experience. For dinner, we ordered: 1. White Bean Hummus; 5/5 A play on Mexican meets Mediterranean hummus, this played with our tastebuds in a very good way. Their pitas are also homemade which was a bonus. Loved the texture of the sprinkled peptitas! Great way to start our dinner! 2. Caesar Salad with a Lil Heat : 4/5 This was a twist on the classic ceasar salad -- instead of romaine lettuce, Chef used brussel sprouts, croutons and a delightful caesar dressing. 3. Meatballs: 5/5 This dish was to die for and definitely a must try! Ground lamb, molé salsa, and an herbasceous yogurt cilantro. It was the perfect balance between Mexican and Mediterranean fusion and we are here for it! 4. Gooey Molé Grilled Cheese: 4/5 During our visit, we learned that the partners (Ian and Arie) used to have a grilled cheese food stand up in Oregon so this was likely an ode to the grilled cheese sandwiches they used to make. Tasty and comforting. Could have used a little more cheese and depth of flavor. But the bread was on point and the side of pickles jalapeños were a nice touch. 4. Lamb Ragù: 5/5 Perfectly coated in a ground lamb red sauce, this pasta was packed full of flavor. One of our favorite dishes of the night for sure. A must order! 5. Peppermint Chocolate Creme Brûlée: 5/5 We're not a big on chocolate when it comes to desert and would usually opt for the fruit-forward desserts but this one was really special. Very high quality chocolate and a perfectly caramelized cane sugar topping. Perfectly paired with a natural Malbec wine. Such a showstopper. And of course, the natural wines paired so beautifully with each dish, and if anything, were on par and synergized so well with our dinner. Ian was an excellent host and showed us a great time on our first visit and made us want to come back again very soon! We absolutely love the concept of Good Clean Fun and we look forward to seeing how they expand. Shoutout to Arie and Marina for making our night memorable as well. We'll definitely be back! If you're looking for a down right good meal paired with a good bottle of natural wine (or flight of natural wines, which we highly recommend) look no further. I really appreciate that this place always has something unique and that the selection changes. I like to always try new things and this place fits the bill. Today I tried a salty watermelon beer that I didn't expect to like but I loved it. Service is very laid back. Cute little wine bistro, our server (male) was great, funny, attentive; however, he was a bit overwhelmed working alone. The female seemed disconnected and at times distracted. the DJ was awesome, the food was delicious, the pizzas, salad and drinks made very well, I love the intimate atmosphere. Their food is good. Slow service. We waited and hour and 20 minutes to get or last item. All of my family's order came out at different times, far apart from each other. Listen, I really had high hopes and was really excited for this place. Customer service was great. Ambiance was chill. Great music. Love the fact that there was a huge selection of beers and wines. However, the food was a disappointment. We ordered the pesto pasta and meatballs. -Pesto Pasta- No flavor. It tasted like I was eating a handful of unsalted trail mix -Meatballs- the texture of the meat was rubbery and EXTREMELY SALTY! 100000/ 10!!! I would eat here every day if I could. My friend raved about the Caesar salad saying it's the best she's ever had..which I thought was dramatic because who raves about a salad lol BUT when I tasted it was LEGIT BEST Caesar salad I've ever had. We also got the Cacio e pepe pasta dish which was so creamy & delicious I felt like I was back in Italy. And the Spicy pepperoni pizza was soooo good. Great wine selection as well. To top it all off the service was amazing! Our host was a charming & funny guy. And the ambiance is perfect for a date or girls night. I can't wait to go back. Recently dined at "Good, Clean, Fun" in Downtown Los Angeles and have mixed feelings about my experience. While the food was good and the service was attentive, the interior of the restaurant left something to be desired. Firstly, the music was much too loud and inappropriate for an intimate dining experience. It was difficult to hold a conversation with my dining companion due to the noise level. Additionally, the decor was basic and lacked any real personality or style. The hand-made signs designating items "Not for purchase" within a cooler was janky, but the overall atmosphere felt sloppy and haphazard. The restaurant's open kitchen was a nice feature, but the excess of clutter and superfluous items on display was distracting and made the space feel cramped. Boxes of wine were hidden conspicuously, boxes of product, to-go ware and old Christmas decorations were shoved between cupboards and behind/on top of the refrigerator, giving the impression that the restaurant lacked organization and attention to detail. Despite the name "Good, Clean, Fun," the restaurant did not live up to the "clean" aspect of its name. The space felt a bit ramshackle, with items piled up and cluttered throughout. It's clear that some work needs to be done to tidy up the space and create a more cohesive and polished atmosphere. You feel as if you're paying a bit much for the food when you're sitting at a folding picnic table indoors and theres boxes of random things around you and visible extension cords. In conclusion, while the food and service at "Good, Clean, Fun" were excellent, the interior of the restaurant left something to be desired. The noise level was too high, the decor was basic, and the cluttered atmosphere detracted from the overall dining experience. I'm willing to pay for quality. But what I received was, frankly, underwhelming. The Caesar salad was the first red flag. The romaine lettuce was the standard kind you'd find in a grocery store bag--nothing fresh or crisp about it. For the price point I would have expected premium produced. Next came the meatballs. I ordered two, and they arrived looking... tired. The texture was soft--almost spongy. I couldn't shake the feeling they had been frozen and simply reheated. The marinara sauce tasted like it came straight from a generic can, the kind you keep in your pantry for emergencies. It had that artificial note that might work on a frozen pizza, but not on something claiming to be a centerpiece of the meal. As for the beverage, it was a bottle of sparkling water--nothing fancy, and while I expect to pay a little more for bottled drinks at restaurants, it added insult to injury. After the disappointing meal, even the water felt like a letdown. To be honest, I briefly considered asking for a refund. But I was hungry and tired, and sometimes, you just take the loss. Food - excellent... best cacio e pepe on the east side. Amazing Caesar salad. Great olives. Bread and butter is mana from heaven. Booze - obvi good. It was packed, like uncomfortably crowded outside, and was so hot inside that it made it hard to enjoy anything. Service didn't help either. We waited patiently because it was busy, but when we finally asked if we could order, the waiter told us it would probably be faster to go to the bar, lol, which came off dismissive. Between the crowds, the heat, the limited menu, and the unfriendly service, it just didn't feel worth it. Maybe if you're really into natural wine and don't mind a chaotic, packed scene you'll enjoy it, but I wouldn't come back.

The menu had bunch of small and large plates, alongside lots alcoholic and N/A drinks. I ordered the Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail that almost tested like a smoothie. The fried calamari, corn, empanadas, short rib tostada and chicken taco, all were good dishes but none of them were mind blowing. Prices were mostly fair. The service was really good. Our server did a wonderful job. All the dishes came out in short intervals. Overall a good location to have relaxing dining experience with friends and family.
