Moonlark's Dinette was such a great find in Downtown LA. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and a really relaxing ambiance. The patio felt tucked away from the city with all the greenery and plants surrounding the space. It's located right next to the Hoxton Hotel lobby, which made it easy to find, and we were able to get street parking nearby. I ordered the latke + smoked salmon and it was absolutely delicious. My kids had the Daybreak Burger and loved it too. Everything tasted fresh and well made. One thing we especially appreciated is they're dog friendly! They even brought our pups their own water bowls, which was such a thoughtful touch. Definitely a spot we'd come back to.

This restaurant was super cute! It has an old-school diner vibe, but with a classy and modern twist that really makes it stand out. The space is very clean, and I loved the open kitchen concept--you can actually see them preparing all the meals, which adds to the experience. We were seated promptly and helped right away, which I always appreciate. Our waitress was great and offered suggestions on their favorite items and house specialties, which made ordering easy. The food did not disappoint--everything tasted very fresh and flavorful. And the hashbrowns? Absolutely amazing!! Definitely a must-try. Highly recommend.

The service was good for a busy sunday morning. I loved the look of the dinette. It was cute and cozy with cool music.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hoxton Hotel and came down to Moonlark Dinette to try their breakfast. The service is amazing - I loved our server. The food also came out quickly. The food was good - nothing outstanding. I got the Latke with salmon which was basically hash browns, smoked salmon and a poached egg. It was yummy, but small portion imo. My boyfriend got the breakfast plate and I was surprised at the size LOL. It was so small for $26. Overall; decent place, cute vibes, great service but nothing outstanding.

After 2 visits, I can say I moon-like (but not love) this dinette. It's been one of my go-to's now during my lunch break when I craving a little breakfast for lunch. Modern takes on diners seem to be trending, and Moonlark's definitely pulls off the look well. Love how the accent color is pink, and the clean retro interior certainly sets a good tone. But the portions to price ratio definitely isn't the same here as the old school diners. You're definitely paying a lot for what you get. Both visits, I ordered the Denver Omelette, which, by default, comes with a salad, not potatoes or fries. In fact, you have to pay extra to sub for fries, and they're just regular fries (not sweet potato or anything fancy)! The omelette itself is pretty good though, not too big or too small, and I love how consistent and smooth the egg is cooked. But also, it's almost $20 just for this (no upgrades). And $5 for a can of Diet Coke? Highway robbery. But hey, that's LA for you, right? Well, on my second visit, I also noticed a little something. The table was set with a mug and a glass in case you order coffee. The mug was actually kinda dirty and not cleaned thoroughly (see picture). I wasn't planning on ordering coffee, but I'm glad I didn't. A good reminder to always check your dishware no matter how aesthetic or clean the place looks! Service thankfully has been great both times. I've always been greeted warmly by the hosts and servers have been attentive. I'm always in and out super quickly. Now for the parking situation: honestly I work close, so I only walk to this place. There's called parking through the hotel (though that's pretty pricey), or you can find public lots a short walk away. In summary, if you want overpriced dining food in LA, Moonlark's is your spot. Just make sure to check your mugs, plates and silverware first. And be prepared to walk or search for parking. But will I be back? Yeah, probably, only because it's one of the few walkable places from work.

I had a delicious time here! It felt like a typical Los Angeles movie magic rom-com. This diner feels nostalgic and modern all at once. Service was friendly and thoughtful! What a fantastic breakfast locale. Can't wait to come back :)

We stayed at the Hoxton and this dinette is located next to the hotel lobby. This diner is so pretty! The brekkie quesadillas are honestly to die for - so flavorful and yummy plus their hot sauce is bomb, do not forget to dump it on the brekkie. The mocha was strong and chocolatey - and the cute latte art on top made me smile. We only dined here once because we had plans on other days but I met some guests who said they dined here every day of their stay and I can totally see why.

Loved the modern diner vibe. Food was delicious. Portions were generous. Service was very slow though and it was a bit expensive for breakfast. Overall, enjoyed the experience and would go back.

My friend and I have been obsessing over American Diner experiences lately and wanted to try this spot as it fit that vibe. Parking options are either valet or street parking. My friend and I both found street parking quickly so only had to pay like $2 for the 2 hours. Food wise, everything tasted really great! Latke + smoked salmon was amazing- very crispy and full of flavor. The deluxe sandwhich was also amazing- I'm still dreaming about the English muffin. Service was tentative and wonderful! I'd return again for a casual but intimate breakfast with a friend.

I came here for weekend brunch and was very impressed. The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful, especially the color scheme. The food was great with generous portions, and all the tableware and silverware were sparkling clean. The salad leaves looked fresh and well washed, which really showed that they care about their food. Street parking was also easy to find.

Chocolate cake to go. Amazing. The best

I been on a search for the best basic old fashioned chocolate cake and I think I found it. Moonlarks dinette!!! Rumor had it they had a good one. And boy was it true. Chocolate cake. Frosting. Soft not too sugary or sweet. Cake was super moist. Everything about this cake was just perfect honestly. If you love chocolate cake please don't sleep on this

Landed in LA and wanted a light brunch start my day, I like this as it was the chef's favorite local flavor and personality. Great location and upscale that still has diner bar service. Ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes: A regional favorite featuring tomatillo salsa, cilantro, and a fried egg.

Customer service is a 10/10. Everyone we encountered was extremely welcoming and kind. It's a great vibe, not too big but still plenty of space. The food was good. I wouldn't say anything was over the top amazing, yet we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The chicken sausage side includes four good-sized links. The biscuits were made well...not dry at all and not too doughy. Hotcakes give a classic pancake vibe. French Toast was decent and different. The chilaquiles made me feel like i should have gotten my egg scrambled versus fried. Overall this is a solid breakfast option if you aren't looking for anything fancy.

The type of bar you choose is important. But sometimes, the Bar Chooses You! Bar Magnolia quietly enters the chat. It was October 11th, 2025 and my wife & I just checked into Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. (EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! Hey, if a bar restroom is well taken care of, you know the place has Class.... And Bar Magnolia has the Class to Match! Of course, there is bar stool seating at the bar... Middle Man (Aka waiting for your server to come check back in) In addition to the bar top stools, there are also low top tables, and a few couch-chairs with a low top table for more intimate conversations. Besides those $18 craft cocktails, a short, well Curated list of bubbles, vino and draft beers are all up for grabs. Unfortunately, we had stopped to eat before we arrived (bad move on our part), but next time, and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, we will definitely partake in their food menu (cause damn, did it look GOOD!) So whether you are a guest of Hotel Figueroa, you are leaving the Crypto Arena after a concert and want to paint the town red, or you are simply just wanting to sit, relax and enjoy a nice cocktail at a classy, upscale, but not so pretentious Cocktail Lounge... I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.
