I ordered chilaquiles verdes with an egg on top. It was pretty good. The berde sauce was balanced between spicy, savory, tangy, and some creaminess. The egg was slightly overdone, but the there was enough yolk to mix in with the chilaquiles. The chicken was cooked to be moist and shredded into nice size portions - they were generous with the chicken. It's a diner feel to it, but you couldn't tell by the food, which was good. Obviously a locals' favorite, parking lot is usually packed. Happy hour drinks are great, salsa (both types) is verrrry spicy, green is a bit milder than red. We tried this place since we had been driving by it for a while. The food was OK at best, though they don't know what crispy hash browns means. It doesn't mean barely heated up, with a crispy top. The pancakes tasted yeast-y (not sure how to explain that), but the french toast was good. Eggs were good and they used real ham, not the lunch meat kind. If I could make a suggestion to their staff, please make sure the glasses you serve water or other beverages have been cleaned of all remains of previous' user lips. Not sure anyone wants to see that, much less use the glass. The window view is to the motel's pool, and those windows need a thorough cleaning. Hubby told me to go relax and treat myself...I think he might have thought I was going to get a massage or something. I treated myself alright with a $2.50 happy hour margarita and $16 tampiquena plate at the oddest named restaurant, Good Coffee Mexican restaurant. Perfectly medium ribeye smothered in cheese, bell peppers, beans, rice, and a cheese enchilada. I ate it all and wanted more (didn't have lunch). I slowed myself down with a frosty margarita and free chips and salsa. The food was cooked to order and was wonderful. This place is so cute and weird. It has like a cantina next door with a bunch of regulars, but the restaurant was empty, save for a bunch of takeouts. My waiter Carlos was super nice but the hostess was clearly wishing she was somewhere else since she kept trying to hide and not address the people waiting for their to go orders. The place has a homey feel and the benches kept moving and rocking lol. The view of the motel pool is also... interesting. Sadly I'm not sure the nice decorations and view of the pool make up for the food. The beans were 10/10 and the green enchiladas were like an 8/10, pretty good. However the red ones were like a 4/10 and the rice 4/10 as well. They pretty much taste just like black pepper. You can even see them covered in pepper but maybe I'm wrong on what the taste was. I come to El Paso on business from California and this is a must stop restaurant. We were here for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised! They offer large portions of food for a good price and have fresh tortillas. If you've ever eaten at Rafa's burritos, you'll enjoy Good Coffee's fresh flour tortillas. The coffee has a nice flavor to it and reminded me of homemade Mexican coffee (it's not Starbucks strong but it's a nice light sweet flavor). The restaurant is attached to the hotel next to it so there's a view of an old swimming pool in the back (bit of an eye sore and not kept very well). Generally, the decor is rather dark since they have the walls painted in a forrest green shade. They would benefit from a couple of sky lights to let more of the natural light in. Too many people, especially military folks, are getting slammed and scammed by thieves that work there. Seems to be a rash of debit card number thefts. Banks have been calling to verify unauthorized debit card purchases in Mexico, California, Florida, and so on. USAA debit card holders, in uniform or not, and other bank debit cards being used by military service members in uniform, are the cards targeted so far. Go to Clock's Coffee Shop on Dyer Street. Tell them that Good Coffee on Montana sent you. At Clock's, the food is good, the service is great, and they don't steal debit card numbers from military service members. read more

First the only item we ordered that was worth it was the glasses of water. We ordered a variety of menu items and the food tasted terrible. The refried beans were extremely dry and tasted more than a day old. The cheese used to smother the food tasted a bit rancid. Also the cooks need to read the menu because the way the food was prepared was not according to their menu. The worst part was the coffee. Best way to descibe it was "light brown water" with no taste. I could see right through the coffee pot as it was being poured. I know a good cup of coffee and this is not a place to have one. I've gone to several local diners like good luck and lucky but decided to give this place a chance since it is close to where i live. The restaurant itself was very nice looking and very large. The service is fast and the food was brought to use pretty quickly. My food used a lot of processed products. The red sauce came from a bottle. My husband had steak and eggs and everything including the potatoes came out undercooked. Our friend was about to drink his coffee and realized that wasn't HIS shade of lipstick on the coffee cup. Overall we won't be returning. None of us finished our food. This place is horrible. The service was bad and the food was worse. It took nearly twenty minutes for the server to take the order and at least half an hour to get the food. I ordered the jumbo breakfast, which was just two pancakes, eggs and bacon. There was nothing jumbo about it and it's overpriced. The pancakes were as tough as leather, which is probably why it came with a steak knife, the scrambled eggs were overcooked on the outside and runny on the inside with shell pieces, and the bacon was cold and chewy.
